In this series, Lee Cockerell, former Executive VP of Operations for Walt Disney World and Clay Clark, the former U.S. Small Business Administrator Entrepreneur of the year, business coach, father of 5 children, and owner of numerous chickens, will deep dive into how to create a magical organization through great management. Lee starts the video off by discussing how important the basic are and actually have face to face time with the customer.

Lee mentions the expectations of your employees and how you can improve on them. The first expectation of your employees is making them feel special when they come into work. If they are doing a good job, make sure you are articulating that. Treat them as individuals and make sure you are working with them if they have a tragedy. The second expectation is respecting them no matter where they are from or who they are. Once you start focusing on performance than you will have a better organization. The third expectation is to train and develop them. Training an employee is when you teach them how to do something, it is not emotional, its simply teaching them the how to on a specific job. However, development is when you have to have one on one conversations on being late to work, their bad attitude, honest, integrity, those hard conversations. Most managers do not have the hard conversations because they are hard conversations.

In this video, Lee Cockerell explains a “can do” attitude will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
