Dealing With Stress: Flying 27 Combat Missions Over Japan – Episode 1 – Part 3

In this episode, Jack Nadel (one of the most successful business owners of a promotional marketing company and veteran of 27 combat missions in a B-29 bomber) sits down with Clay Clark (Business coach and former US Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year) to talk about dealing with stress. Jack recounts some of the specific scenarios where kamikaze pilots were targeting his specific planes in order to bring them down because of the effect that they were having on Japan. It is hard to put yourself in a position where in opposing enemy is trying to fly entire planes into your plane, however, growing a business shares struggles that also deal with shots. Being able to deal with stress on a daily basis is a similar skill that you must master if you were going to remain focused for a long period of time. The first step is to set a big goal that you are going to work towards. In this episode, Clay Clark breaks down a Dale Carnegie quote that discusses that if you want to conquer fear, you must not sit home and procrastinate. You must begin taking action and creating a momentum for yourself. When you are creating momentum, staying focus becomes easier every day that you do it. If you simply are sitting at home, that will breed doubt and fear with in yourself, and you will become discouraged. During the war over Japan, Jack Nadel echoes these sentiments as they simply could not think about the overwhelming sense of fear that may be apparent while in the B-29 bomber. They had to focus on the task at hand or else it would have sent a spiral downward into the looming fear of the situation.
