Find A Need And Fill It – Episode 1 – Part 3
In this episode, Jack Nadel (Business owner of one of the top promotional materials companies in the world and combat veteran who flew in the B-29 bomber in 27 combat missions over Japan) sits down with Clay Clark (former US Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year and business coach) to discuss the variety of different ways that you can explore niches for your business. If you were looking to go into business for yourself and start a business, then you must first identify the need that you’re going to fill. If you do not have a need, then you will not be able to provide value to your prospective buyers. The first step Will be to identify a need that people currently have, or create a need that they did not know that they have. You must start by exploring the community, and assessing the needs that you personally have right now. If you have a need that you are consistently looking to fix, then examine what might make that need applicable to a larger group of people. Is there something that affects more than just you? Figure out the emotional, physical, financial, spiritual needs that people have. Business is a constantly changing environment. If in the market there is not currently a need, then that does not mean that in the future there will not be. Constantly check back to see what has changed since the last time you examined a market. If the industry that you are going into its competitive, that means there is a demand there. Companies much larger than your start up have spent millions of dollars on market research to identify the determine whether or not it makes sense for you to enter the market.
