The Follow-Up Factor | 3 Steps For Delegating Effectively – 2. Clear Communication And Delegation – Part 1

As a business owner, have you ever wanted to take a vacation, but could not because your business was so dependent on you? Are you currently serving every single role in your business as the marketer, salesperson, accountant, head of human resources, service delivery, and more? If you ever want to have a successful and scaled business, then you must learn the art of delegation. If you serve in every single role available in your business, you begin to move away from time freedom, because your business is completely dependent on you to keep going. In this episode, America’s best business coach Clay Clark teams up with Thrive15 business coach and cultural warrior, Marshall Morris, to discuss the three steps to delegating more effectively. The first step given in this video is to make sure effective communication has occurred. Clay Clark talks about how after reading so many books, he has gained so much knowledge. Because of all the knowledge he has gained, Clay often makes the mistake that other people have that same knowledge that he has. As he began to mature, Clay realized that he was not communicating effectively because he would assume someone had the same knowledge he had, even though they would not. Clay learned that you must verify that someone understands whenever you are communicating with them. He gives another illustration about telling an employee to purchase cups for your business. While the person telling the employee to purchase cups has one idea of what he wants to buy, the other person may not have the same idea. This may result in the employee buying the right cups! On a bigger scale, this often happens to many business owners because they do not make sure effective communication has occurred. Learn how to delegate effectively by learning how to communicate in this episode!
