The Road From Richmond To The NBA – Episode 2 – Part 1

When you think of Adversity what comes to mind? What are the greatest difficulties you face as an entrepreneur? Your business is special in its own way. You have your distinct problems and your special features. Paul Pressey talks about the time when he met his girlfriend who at first was already in-love… with someone else. Yet, Paul was persistent and was striving to get-to-know someone other than his teammates. Business coach Clay Clark throws in a deep remark that you could use in your path onto becoming a great entrepreneur. He says “It is hard to get to know someone when they do not want to talk to you.” Take this approach to a client that you have not received an order from. What is it you could be doing to stay in contact with them? Simple, pick up that phone and give them a call. This issue is well known in the accounts receivables department. Clay goes to break-down the word “mentor” as Websters defines it, “Someone who teaches or gives help and advice to a less experienced and often younger person.” Paul Pressey talks about Nolan Richardson and how he impacted his life outside  of the courts. What he does to these players is truly inspirational. I will not go into detail and spoil the story Paul talks about, but I urge you to watch what he says about his great mentor Nolan Richardson. Good mentors generally go above and beyond of what they are expected of, by doing things that show they truly care about that one individual. Paul Pressey had one of the greatest mentors growing up. When was the last time you though to yourself to find a young individual, take them under your arms, and teach them the ways of life. Setting them up to being their own greatest potential. That is what Thrive15 is here for. We come together as mentors sharing our stories of what we have learned with you.
