The Story Behind The Story: Famous Entrepreneurs’ Success Stories – Episode 4 – Part 3

In this episode of the ThriveTime Show business school, Clay Clark continues to track the path of success his college classmate took from Oral Roberts University to Grammy Award-winning songwriter and performing artist. He recalls that it took back 10 years for him to become an “overnight success.”

Clay goes on to discuss that for many successful entrepreneurs their motivation is often found through rejection. Most people would have no issues stating that being rejected is not fun. But for successful people, they have learned how to turn those rejections into a springboard towards their eventual success. They have recognized that learning to handle rejection and transpose that energy into something positive that will push them closer to their overall goals and ambitions.

Special guest Deedra Determan recounts the hours of groundwork that is required to make big success happen. She talks about her time in the news industry and her job of attracting talented anchors to Tulsa. The results of some of those hires went on to achieve success, but only as a result of the preparation and diligence of the station to find the right person for the position.

It is important to realize that overnight success is a myth. Only through years of diligence and hard work can one become successful in life and business. All great entrepreneurs and business people have to overcome rejection and overcome adversity on their journey to achieving their big goals and dreams.
