Failure: What We Can Learn From It – Episode 2 – How to Learn from Failures – Part 1

In this business coaching video training, Caleb Taylor and business coach Clay Clark sit down to discuss the failures of some of the most successful entrepreneurs. The episode starts out by discussing how Steve Jobs got fired from Apple. At the time, he was insanely bitter about the experience but upon later reflection he was able to see why that was one of the best things that could have happen to him. At the time he was not mature enough to be running the company. However, through struggle and growth, he was able to learn from his failure of running the company and ultimately Apple asked him to come back. The founder of linked in, Reid Hoffman, says that you must identify what it will cause you to fail and engage them sooner. It is one common misconception that people want to work on the things that they believe that they can fix first. Often times, it is more important to engage the problem that you do not know how to solve immediately. The reason why is because those are typically the problems that can cripple us. As a business owner, you must become very good at identifying the problem and facing it head on. When you do this, you will find that you are completing the hard things in life immediately, and you do not fear them. Lee Cockerell, the former executive vice president of operations of Walt Disney World resort, says that when you do the hard things first, life gets easier. This is entirely true, and Clay Clark talks about this particular principle throughout this episode. If you enjoy this training, make sure that you check out the rest of the videos in this series that identify what successful entrepreneurs have done to face their own failures and learn from it.
