Transcribed with Cockatoo

Clay, you’re an entrepreneur, I’m an entrepreneur. And as they say in stoic, the obstacle is the way. And so if you let these pinheads get in your way, you’re in trouble. Octononverba is the motto of the U . S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kingspoint, New York.

I had appointments with Naval Academy and Kingspoint Merchant Marine Academy. And Merchant Marine Academy’s motto was Octononverba. In other words, don’t listen to what a person says. Watch what they do. Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do. I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.

You know what I mean? People rave about what they learn from you.

So congratulations. My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean. We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas. We have probably grown probably five times. I think when we first started with you, we had 60 to 65 employees, and now we have a little over 300 employees. Before we got involved with Thrive Time, we didn’t really have any systems or processes in place.

In six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences and Amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to help you guys implement the SEO. The coaching is just great because there’s accountability. It’s just a fantastic way to grow your company. Having a relationship with Thrivetimes, it’s just been amazing for multiclaim. Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to take a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video. That’s not what we do.

What we do is commercial janitorial service. And you guys were the experts on marketing. And you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right.

And therefore, now my company is much, much larger. Folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a real client. He may look like a male model. He may look like a hologram, but he’s a real person. He’s a longtime client. He’s a man that we consider to be a friend of The Thrive Time Show and a friend of mine.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show Kevin. Welcome on to The Thrive Time Show.

How are you, sir? Clay, I’m doing great.

I had a great Christmas holiday, and I’m glad to be here.

OK, so first question, can you tell us what is your name, first and last name, and what’s the name of your company, sir? My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean.

We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas.

And how long have we worked with you approximately at this point, sir?

It’s been about six, seven years. Yeah, I’ve lived by a strong principle in life, and that is try to not take advice from people more messed up than you in that given area. Now, that doesn’t mean you’re totally isolated. Everybody’s got something you can kind of learn from some more than others, but don’t take diet tips from people that are like, you know, it’s not fruit or driving tips from somebody that smashed up a car. You want people that have fruit in that area of their life. And four years ago, we came across an author, podcaster,

business owner that had consulted over 160 different companies, wrote a book, well, probably a dozen books, I don’t know, or more, but How to Build a Successful Business. I’m gonna read a quote from this book.

A global survey by a workforce management company, Kronos, found that as many as 58 % of employees call in sick on days that they want to watch or attend sporting events.

Wow. Now, some of you watching this, you’re like, that’s a move. I didn’t know that was an option. And some of you own businesses, you’re like, no, my boy is calling sick because it’s legit. Well, maybe, maybe not. Maybe you’re in an isolated situation.

This very simple kind of twisting the truth can cost organizations as much as 8 .7 % of their payroll each year, according to the study. And that’s like a practical tip. It’s not real sexy. It’s not like what Elon Musk is leading in on one of these conferences or the, you know, Steve Jobs when he’d have the nerd fest and then he would come out in his black, you know, turtleneck. It’s not those kind of things, but it’s practical. If you’re a business owner, an entrepreneur, whether you’re the only employee or it’s a husband and wife and she’s kind of faking calling in sick or, you know, maybe you do that to your own Maybe you own a large company.

But if we’re going to participate in this golden age, we need to know how to run businesses, run them effectively, and know exactly what you’re doing. And why do they work? Why do they not work? And be able to participate in this.

So we have with us today the author of How to Build a Successful Business from Thrivetime Show, the one and only Mr. Clay Clark.

Welcome, Clay. Thank you guys for letting me be here today, and I am fired up to teach people how to get unstuck. That’s kind of the working title. You guys title it how you want. You make your own thumbnails. It’s your show.

But what I’m talking about today is how to get unstuck.

Come on. I love it. I just want you to know, Clay, we’ve been receiving some emails from the Flyover listeners, how much they love this segment and how much they are learning. They’re so glad that we added this to the Flyover show on Friday. So thank you so much for joining us.

And I have all of my note cards.

ready to take notes because I’m learning a ton as well so we really do appreciate you. As many as dozens of listeners actually look forward to this segment every week. Three listeners love this thing. Let me get into the five steps we’re going to teach today on how to get unstuck. Somebody’s watching the show right now, okay? I want to give you some stats.

They’re not necessarily encouraging stats, but they’re real, okay? I want everyone to go to usdebtclock . org. Go to usdebtclock .

org.

We’re going to go there right now. I’m going there. We’re all going there. I’m typing. I’m keeping my fingers on the home row. Here we go.

Right now in America, there are 341 million Americans, and there’s just 9 ,033 ,000 self -employed people. Wow. population that was self -employed, you’d have 34 million self -employed people. We don’t have that number. If we had 3%, we would have, we’re all smart at math here, we would have over 10 million. You’ve got to do the math.

So what I’m saying is we’re at under 2 .5 % of the American population. It’s in the middle column, by the way. Under 2 .5 % of the American population is self -employed. That’s some wild stuff. Look at that. U .

S. self -employed, 9 million. What am I saying? Now, everyone look this up. According to Inc.

Magazine, 96 % of the people that try to become self -employed will fail.

by default, 96%. Folks, that’s one out of 1 ,100 people. So could you imagine having a high school graduation at a large high school and you get up there because you got asked to deliver the announcements and you’re supposed to give the pep talk before they bring in the big guest speaker for all the graduates and you get up there and you say, students, before we introduce our speaker, Mr. Steve Jobs will be addressing you guys and encouraging you with some words. I’d like to let you know that just one out of 1 ,100 of you will be successful. Thank you. That’s all.

I mean, that’s wow. I mean, that’s real. The profundity of that idea of the default lack of success. And so there’s five areas where people always come to me and they say, Clay, I can’t have success because of this. And we’re going to solve all of that today. Clay, I can’t have success now because of this, so I’m gonna pull up this video clip here, and hopefully this video is inspirational for somebody.

This is Terry Wren, and Terry Wren, that’s actually my face, let me hit refresh here, but to Terry Wren, her son, Justin Wren, is a very well -known, let me pull it up real quick here, a very well -known MMA fighter who’s been on Joe Rogan a total of six times, I believe, and she runs a trophy business, okay?

She makes trophies, her company is in Dallas, Texas, Somebody says, I need some more meat on the bone.

It’s called ABS Photography. That’s her company. And she came to me, and she had just had a divorce, and her son had just gone on Joe Rogan to explain that he was having drug addiction withdrawal issues.

Watch this. How long have you been doing sports photography slash awards, that kind of thing? 25 years. So I went with Justin, because at the time he was living in Oklahoma City, and he was a guest speaker at your conference. And I was with him, and that’s when I met you and your team.

You were depressed?

Yeah, well, depressed. Suicidal thoughts, I had for like 10 years. Just battled it from 13 years old, 23.

And so yeah, that was a lot scarier to me than going home. Man, you had suicidal thoughts when you were 13. Yeah, for sure. I was one that, like, you know, the kid in the, in the class that, I mean, I wasn’t, I wasn’t like, I wouldn’t say I was, how do I say it? It was extremely brutal, but it was happening to, I mean, everyone gets bullied for the most part. Um, but yeah, just the energy and the, uh, business information that you give is great.

I’ll tell you that, um, at the actual time that I started, um, I was your client and you started your business. coaching me. I was going through a divorce after 32 years of being married. I was not the business owner. I worked in the hospital for 15 years and I was clueless. I was lost.

So everything you said at the conference resonated with me and I could tell that that’s what I needed. I did not know how important numbers are to know your numbers.

I did not know how important systems are. So I learned all that. And yeah, it was great. And as far as generating leads, are you seeing more leads online now than you were when you first met us at that conference? Or maybe you could maybe describe maybe the impact that implementing what you’ve learned has had on the number of leads you generate? Oh, I had no idea about Google.

So yes, we have actually done a lot We have so much business now with people Googling us and finding us. So we do the marine ball.

So that’s how they found us. That’s an event photography type. It’s not sports, just event. So that’s how they found us. A gentleman just found us for a world tournament that they’re actually having right here in our back door in Berwilson in Grapevine. Can we stop right there?

But I want people to know this. This is something everyone needs to know. This is a person whose son was on Joe Rogan talking about growing up with suicidal thoughts. That had to be not fun for a parent to see your son Joe Rogan talking about that. She had just gone through a divorce, was going through a divorce after being married to the same person for 35 years.

Her business was also failing.

And so there’s five categories. I want everyone to take out a sheet of paper and I want you to write down the five, write down these five common excuses and figure out which one’s not going to stop you anymore. So write these five down. and let’s figure out which one’s not going to stop you anymore. There’s five. One is too many bad things are happening now.

That’s excuse number one. I hear people say, I can’t have success now because I’m going through a divorce. My son’s on Joe Rogan talking about suicidal thoughts, whatever the thing is. Second is I’m too financially strapped. You know, I just, I’m just, Clay, I only have three months of savings, two weeks of savings. I’m strapped financially.

You don’t understand. Third. I got too many naysayers in my life. My husband’s telling me it’s not a good idea. My wife’s saying it’s not a good idea. I’m saying it’s not a good idea.

My friends around me, no one in my life has ever had success. My mom doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

My dad doesn’t.

My friends, my neighbors, my cousins, my roommates.

Fourth, I’m too old. Too old. I’m too old. Too old. Too old. That’s the problem.

You know me. I’m too old. I’m too old. It says I can’t learn new things. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Or the fifth is I’m too young.

Too young! Too young!

Come on, I’m too young.

I’m under 30.

What am I going to do? And we’re going to work through all five of those. But Dave, there’s somebody out there that has been saying that story, that self -fulfilling prophecy of doom and gloom.

And we’re going to get you unstuck today. Come on. Man, you couldn’t have picked a better testimonial for these five things. I guess four out of the five, you know, that cover that and showing the success that she’s had today. That’s pretty amazing, overcoming these five areas. Now, as you’re making a thumbnail or a title, or how do you even title the growth?

She told me she never got leads from the internet before, ever. She’s like, I’m a little bit too old.

I don’t do the internet, Google.

I don’t do search engine, website, graphic design. I don’t do all that.

I never get leads from my website.

And during that interview with her, that testimonial video, she was telling me that she had multiple leads that came in that day. Wow. I’m doing the math, and I’m like, I think your number of leads are maybe up. like thousands of percent. She’s like, yeah, yeah. I mean, so you would 1000 % growth on online leads.

about even what you would call that if it’s just unbelievable She had no leads and now she gets three and four a day every day. So that’s big. Okay So let’s talk about this. Too many bad things are happening. Napoleon Hill, the best -selling author, who I named my son after, the best -selling author of Think and Grow Rich. And I’m going to read you a notable quotable from Napoleon Hill.

He writes in the book Think and Grow Rich, which changed my life. He says, Perhaps a better book has a better description of this. The Bible says, It doesn’t say that tomorrow is the day the Lord has made or last week was the day. This is the day. And I encourage somebody out there, just decide right now, come with me in agreement that you’re going to take action today. So I’m giving you a solution.

If you come to our workshops, this particular woman and a lot of our clients, a lot of people will come to our conferences and they need a scholarship. They’re in a tight spot. They’ve been running a company for 25 years. You heard her say it, 25 years. And she’s needing a little bit of it. So we do scholarships.

So if anybody goes to thrivetimeshow . com, you can literally just name your price. It’s $250 or whatever price you want to pay. You can name your price. I have so many scholarship clients that are now super successful. That’s a real thing.

Everybody can take action. Second thing, if you go to thrivetimeshow . com forward slash free dash resources, thrivetimeshow . com forward slash free dash resources, All 30 plus of my books are available to download for free.

So you can download those for free.

So I’m giving you, Dave, I’m giving everybody out there the permission to get unstuck. But Dave, you know this because you’ve raised your kids the right way, but you came from a family that maybe wasn’t super awesome. And you had to have the moment where maybe you were in your car, maybe you’re at work, maybe you’re at church camp. I don’t know what happened for you. But at some point you said, I am done with being stuck. Yeah, well, for me, it was just, part of it was being younger.

of six kids, you kind of observe the children above you, but I began looking around thinking this doesn’t have to be normal for everybody, and again I want to illustrate, my family, they were good people, they loved God, they went to church, read the Bible, all this kind of stuff, but they were not good in their relationships, a lot of divorce, and nobody could really ever buy like four car tires at the same time or fill up their car in one stop was a big challenge. It’s just financially and a lot of it was just the words they spoke and One step forward, two steps back in this kind of language. I didn’t do this, I don’t think, on purpose, but I was drawn to friends I had. I would look at their family or parents. I’d be like, man, they’re not struggling with the same things. They talk different.

Girls I would date tended to come from good families. I was looking for people who had fruit in their life in those areas. And it really did come down to, it’s not a genetic bloodline. There’s good people and bad people or rich people and poor people.

It was ways of doing life, ways of talking, ways of thinking, ways of approaching a problem. You know, all the problems you listed right here, most people in my family say those things on a regular basis. When they’re too young, it’s because they’re too young. When they’re old, they’re too old. And it’s that language that’s tied into these problems that you listed that they almost have as like printed t -shirts. And it doesn’t have to be the normal for people.

And you have this area number two where people get stuck. People say, I don’t have the financial resources. So I’m going to go back, tell you a story. I grew up, didn’t have money, so I went and got a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV. OK, so everybody, this is practical action steps for you. Get out a sheet of paper and write down all of your expenses.

Or get out a spreadsheet and put all of your expenses, all of your expenses. Write them all down. And commit to save 3%. So commit to cutting your expenses by 3%, OK? this the 3 % game, it’s exciting. So I remember going through this process with myself, 18 -year -old, and I’m going, okay, I’m gonna cut everything possible.

When my wife and I got married, I remember this exercise, because I do this every month. So we’re going through this exercise, and I’m like, here’s the deal.

In order for us to get where we want to go with this company, I’m building DJ Connection, we have to turn off the heat and the air conditioning, we have to sell a car, and I have to maintain three jobs, you have to have two.

This is a real conversation my real wife and I had and she was 20 years old. She’s like, okay So I’ll work at Office Depot and Oral Roberts University and then I’m like, okay I’m gonna work at Applebee’s Target and DirecTV. We’re gonna have one car. We’re gonna sell the other car We’re gonna have no air conditioning. No heat. That’s we’re gonna do and then a final kind of the kicker We’re gonna be eating the in the budget gourmet section at Walmart, which is kind of a contradiction in terms, but they’re 96 cent Chicken panini kind of things and we’ll eat those with inflation.

They’d be about $4 right now, but we were eating those things it was basically like like a glorified salt lick that was frozen. It was sodium, not healthy. But all I’m saying is we made that decision to be happy and to work our way through this process by just living below our means. And there’s somebody watching this right now that needs to hear this. There was somebody I talked to the other day, a real true story, a doctor, I’ll be vague about what city he’s in, but there’s a doctor and he’s telling me how he couldn’t afford to run ads on AdWords. This is a doctor.

And I said, can we do this game, the 3 % game, can we do this? We’re going through his expenses. And the guy had just gotten back from a Caribbean cruise, and the guy drives multiple luxury cars. And I’m going, can I give you a tour of my white van? He says, yeah, I’d like to. And I said, I know you’re not in Tulsa.

I’m going to film that thing. I’m going to send it to you. He goes, you drive that white van? I said, yeah. He goes, why? I said, it’s paid for.

debt -free, 160 ,000 miles on it, and he’s like, are you serious? You drive that? I said, yeah, why are you driving your car? He said, well, I take pride in my car. I said, well, you’re also unable to advertise for your business. So it’s about trade -offs or trade -ups.

And we had a great conversation. He said, He sent me a very nice text and he just said, uh, today I recognize that my entire, uh, way I was driving to work and the way I was living was all based on pride. And I was trying to live a lifestyle that I couldn’t afford to impress the people I don’t know. And I I’m cutting it. So I’m true story. And we helped that guy say, just one weekend, just one weekend, that particular guy, we helped him save over $6 ,000 a month of wasteful spending, which allowed him to advertise.

And now here we are, and he’s getting more leads than ever. Great story. so move number three with a little bit of time we have too many naysayers the Bible says Proverbs 13 20 it says he that walketh with wise men shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed so for anybody who goes to thrive timeshow . com And you look at the upcoming conference we have in June.

We’re featuring Tim Tebow.

We also have Colton Dixon, the Christian recording artist. Just yesterday, I talked to Eric Stockelbach, who’s the big host on TBN. He’s the most watched show on TBN. Eric Stockelbach’s coming now to the conference. That’s exciting. Wow.

Eric never was on the Reawakened tour, but he wants to come to the event. We’ve got this really neat lineup. We have Colton Dixon there. Brett Rhea will be performing. And we just keep adding more and more fun people. Well, anyway, as we’re talking, Pastor Jackson says, hey, what if we invited all these, because Pastor Jackson Laumeyer is now on the faith advisory board for President Trump, and so he was there having Easter with President Trump, they had the Easter meal with President Trump, and Jackson was in the room with Jensen Franklin, and Franklin Graham, and all these wonderful men of faith.

He was there with all these people, and he goes, what if we invite all these pastors to your conference in June? And I’m going, all right, so now we’re gonna have a disproportionate amount of people at our conference in June. And you say, what? And it’s because these people, these pastors, they run an organization. And to grow an organization, you have to be organized.

You have to know marketing. You have to know sales. You have to know accounting. And what was happening is, All these pastors, very organically, wasn’t forced at all. They were asking Jackson at these events at the White House, they’re like, how are you growing your church double year over year? How are you tripling your church within an 18 -month period of time?

How is that happening? And Jackson’s like, well, I’ve learned the systems and the habits. And that’s what I do, and I go to these conferences. And I’m just telling you, you do become the average of the five people you spend the most time with. So if you’re watching this show today, I encourage you, again, go to thrivetimeshow . com, come to one of our conferences, I promise you’ll be around great, upwardly mobile people.

But also I want you to make a list of the five people you spend the most time with and figure out If you are being the friend that you should be, are you being the friend, the son, the father that you need to be? Are you being the uplifter in that social circle? But also be intentional, be very self -aware. Are you the Debbie Downer, or are you the one lifting up the room? But also, who are you hanging out with? Because when I started DJConnection .

com, I was primarily hanging out with rappers, aspiring rappers, and people that smoked pot, which are Aspiring rappers and that was my social circle. And so that wasn’t a good circle to be in so I hopefully that might make sense But you know Colton, you know, it’s because you’re a young father. I mean you’re a father you’re young Not a whole lot of happily married young people running around. And I know you and your wife are super intentional about the way you raise your kids. You know, Colton, if you surrounded yourself with people that were, you know, on divorce number three, what would start to happen to your mindset over time if you just kept intentionally hanging out with people that were suffering from perpetual marital jackassery? Yeah, it would just become an option.

And for us, it was never an option when we first got married.

that wasn’t even a thought well I got married at 21 and I had a lot of older friends at that time I was working a lot and so all the people I was working with are like oh my gosh you’re such an idiot you’re getting married at 21 you’re you’re wasting the best years of your life like the 20s are like that’s this is when you live it up and then you settle down in your 30s and you know I look down 31 years old and I’m like I’m I so appreciate the fact that in my 20s, I got to spend the best years of my life with my spouse, and I think the best years of my life are still ahead, but I got to have these memories now of my 20s. We built businesses together, and we traveled, and we went all over the country. We did all kinds of really cool things inside of our 20s together, and now in my 30s, it’s even better, but those people that were telling me that when I was 21 years old are no longer in my life. I’ve been able to trade up. I love that term you said earlier. It’s not a trade off, it’s a trade up, and I’ve continually traded up on my network until eventually I’m where I am today, but I think you are the cumulative effect of the five people you spend the most time with, for sure.

Now, move four and five. With the limited time we have, I’m going to fire these off. People say I’m too old or I’m too young. So I want people to understand this idea. I want everyone to write this down and think about it. Jim Rohn, bestselling author.

Dave, I know you love Jim Rohn. I do, too.

Jim Rohn once said, may he rest in peace, he said, discipline is the bridge between your goals and accomplishment.

Jim Rohn. Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. And another thing, everyone to look it up, write it down, everybody, Nielsen out there. Nielsen reports the average American right now is spending 11 .3 hours per day passively consuming media. Wow. The average American.

spending 11 .3 hours per day passively consuming media.

So if you say, I’m too old, I’m too young, I don’t have time, what we need to do is we need to go ahead and find where where’s that time going?

Where is that time being spent? And I’m saying this not to impress your listeners, but I’m just telling you because I this is a real statement. I never and I’m not not tacky, but who does I’m just telling you, I never

watch the news.

Ever. I never, ever, ever adjust anything about my day based upon the weather because I don’t know what it’s going to be, ever. I have no idea what the weather’s going to be. I also don’t know what holidays are. I don’t know. I mean, so my wife’s like, you know, Easter’s coming up this week.

It’s not that I’m sacrilegious. I just don’t think about holidays. I also don’t think about birthdays. I’m not saying I shouldn’t. I’m just saying I don’t. I also don’t think about just like these quasi holidays, these hallmark holidays that get in the way of success and momentum.

I don’t deal with like ongoing gossip. I go right to the source. I try to solve it as fast as I can. Dave, I know you do the same thing.

I don’t lunch meetings.

I don’t do lunch meetings. I don’t do dinner meetings, by and large. I don’t scroll through any social media just looking for things. I don’t watch anything that’s ever been suggested to me ever by an algorithm. That’s a huge thing. I have never in my entire life watched a single thing that’s been suggested to me by an algorithm.

Not one time. Because I don’t I’m not going to. I’ve never read a book that someone says I should read unless I want to read. I’m not going to participate in jackassery. I’m just not going to attend graduations for people I don’t know. I’m just not going to.

I’m just not going to spend my Saturday at a birthday party for someone I don’t know. You know we’ve all been invited to that. I’m not going to participate in a corporate challenge I don’t care about. I’m very intentional because I view that every moment we have is a gift from God and what we do with it is a gift to God. So if you’re watching today’s show and you say, I want to get unstuck. I’m going to give you three calls to action.

One is you do become the average of the five people that you spend the most time with. So listen to the flyover conservatives. We haven’t talked about this offline, but everyone needs to know this.

You do become the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

So just listen to the flyover conservatives. Just simply make that decision. I’m going to listen to the flyover conservatives and not the news. I promise it’ll change what is now happening. you. Listen to the Flyover Conservatives, don’t listen to Fox News.

Whenever you think about going to Fox News, don’t go to Fox News and go over to Flyover Conservatives. The podcast do it. Second thing I want you to do is find a way. Find a way to come join us at our upcoming workshop featuring Eric Trump in September. Find a way to do it. It’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Alina Hava is going to find a way to do it. Eric Trump will be in the house. Julie Green will be in the house. Amanda Green will be in the house. That’s in September. Or come find a way to come find us in June, where you’re going to see Tim Tebow and Colton Dixon.

But find a way to do that.

And then the third thing is find a way.

I know somebody has Carpal Tunnel out there, but go to thrivetimeshow .

com forward slash free -resources.

Someone says, the pain is so much when I type. Just work it. Type with it. One finger at a time. One finger at a time. Right.

Wear the bowling braces, the bowling brace carpal tunnel thing, put them on, and get over to thrivetimeshow . com forward slash free -resources and download one of my books for free. Download it.

Unbelievable. And if you say, well, what book should I read? I would recommend that we read the book that Dave started off today’s show holding up there, the orange -covered book, How to Build a Successful Business. You can download it for free today. So a lot of information. I know we’re coming in hot today, Dave, but I hope everybody out there knows this is the day that the Lord has made.

You should rejoice and be glad in it, and do not get stuck.

I love that. Flyover Family, again, go to thrivetimeshow . com. You can get your tickets there for the June 5th and 6th event, or you can also text 918 -851 -0102. 918 -851 -0102. Just let them know you came through Flyover.

Clay, what are you doing for people that come through Flyover? We just really appreciate how you’ve done this every single time, and I know our listeners do as well. Well, first is we call you, which is wild in this world we live in where we actually talk to you, get to know you. That’s fun. And I talk to most almost everybody who fills out the form directly. So that’s a lot of fun just to get to hear from you and where you’re listening from.

But the second is you’re entered in for a chance to win a backstage pass to actually meet Eric Trump, to meet Tim Tebow, those kind of things. You can get a photo, you can meet these people. And there’s only 300 people that typically attend. I keep it small. It’s in my building where it’s standing room only kind of thing. I mean, it’s packed.

If it’s when you show up, you feel like, well, every single seat is taken. But there’s not thousands of people. So you have a really strong statistical probability of winning an actual backstage pass. So if you go right now to Thrivetimeshow .

com and you request your tickets, use promo code FLYOVER, you have a chance to win a backstage pass. Also, you get a discount on VIP tickets. So if someone out there says, I want to get a VIP ticket, I want to sit a little bit closer, those kind of things. We have a VIP dinner, a VIP meal. It’s a lot of fun. And if you use promo code FLYOVER, you get a discount on that.

So I promise, folks, when you come to the conference, I won’t disappoint.

I’m actually more pale than I look right now. And that can immediately change the five people you spend time with. That’s true.

Because everybody in there is on a path to getting somewhere good.

They’re not on a path just buying time, waiting for the next Netflix special to come out.

So it changes that demographic immediately. People walk out of there with new friends, new phone numbers, new contacts. That’s exactly right. Huge. Clay, thank you so much for your time. And happy Resurrection Weekend.

Tell Vanessa we love her as well.

Clay Clark is here somewhere.

Where’s my buddy Clay?

Clay’s the greatest. I met his goats today. I met his dogs. I met his chickens. I saw his compound. He’s like the greatest guy.

I ran from his goats, his chickens, his dogs. So this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen, right? His entire life, Clay Clark, his entire life is marketing. 4 ,000 % from February to February. Now I can better that.

Okay, Clay, I don’t think you know this.

I don’t think you know this. I’m pinching myself and if I cry, forgive me. In the last two and a half days, We.

have bettered our entire month of February and the last two and a half days. So and the phone’s blown up. Everything’s just blown up. Well you’re right. It is like a rocket ship. So we’re pinching ourselves.

Actually I learned at the Academy King’s Point in New York Octa nonverbal.

Watch what a person does. not what they say. But I recognized at the age of 15, I’m going, you know what? I am not going to live that way. And so I started a company out of my parents’ basement called DJConnection . com.

And I decided I am going to have success. And so I reached out to millionaires and people that I kind of knew through church and friendships and people that, parents of my friends. And I said, what book would you recommend that I read? I’m a 15 year old asking this question, true story. And I kept being told you got to read. Hello, hello, hello.

Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Radio Show. It’s an exciting time. Also I think a treacherous time, a spooky time also. But it’s always, you know, danger is a good time. Today my guest is Clay Clark and I went out with Tom Wheelwright to visit Clay with Eric Trump also. And the reason I wanna talk to Clay this morning is a very important subject called study.

And the reason I say that is things are changing so fast And many people are completely missing the show. Things are changing at rapid, rapid, rapid speed. Technology’s changing. So I went to Tulsa, again, with Tom Wheelwright and Eric Trump. And the thing I was so impressed about Clay is this word called study. I don’t know, you guys must be in your water or something, Clay.

But boy, I was so, so impressed how big you guys are. But what really impressed me was you have this huge congregation. They’re all about guys your age. They’re on fire. And you start your classes at five in the morning.

Now let me talk to you about study here. We show our books here. This is how I study. You know, this is the Creature from Jekyll Island. It’s on the Fed. And Clay’s doing the same thing.

We study. So I go out to Clay’s place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s built this huge compound out there, and you guys start at five o ‘clock in the morning. That’s not by Zoom. They drive there. They show up five o ‘clock, bright -haired, bushy -tailed, and all this, and they’re on fire.

Your group is on fire.

So that’s what was, Clay, this technology, you tell your group, I was so, so impressed, because like I said, study has became a bad word.

I got into fights in my own company, because our staff didn’t wanna study anymore. And I just, I don’t know how they can’t do that.

So Clay, anyway, welcome to the Rich Dad Radio Show. That’s what I wanna talk to you about, is how do you do it? Five o ‘clock in the morning, you have hundreds of people showing up in your huge, huge, huge auditorium on your property to study.

Anyway, welcome to the show, Clay, and what turns you on so much? That’s what I wanna know. Give us a little bit about your background. My name is Karime Schofield, and the name of our company is Whistle While You Clean. I am Sophia Schofield. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and we service the tri -state.

So Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana. We were getting a phone call and we were like, why is someone calling our business line? That’s unusual. And we picked it up and it was a lead. I mean, it’s been an incredible play. It’s like,

gone from zero to 100 % growth. We’re a full functioning company. It’s great. We’re blown away at how well we’re doing. So working with you guys, you guys have really taught us a lot about generating leads and pursuing our dream 100. So we have a list of customers that we want to market to.

And so we’ve been making phone calls, we’ve been showing up in person. We’re trying to get near the businesses that they would visit if they were visiting like a hair salon or something. And then we start calling them and we just start pursuing them. And then the other thing that we do is when we do do cleans, we take a lot of video testimonials and we post those to our website so other customers can see. And then we also upload a lot of images of the things that we do. And so We’re also asking our clients for Google reviews after we’ve cleaned their houses.

And so it’s this constant cycle of doing those things over and over and over again. I would say if you’re on the fence, go to one of Clay’s conferences. They are hilarious. They’re fun. They’re educational. They’re so good that even my teenagers like them.

And I would say don’t let fear hold you back. If you want to start a business, do the obvious thing and hire someone who knows how to run businesses. If I wanted to get in shape, I’d hire a gym person, you know, a personal trainer. This is like the personal training for business. It has been absolutely amazing. I mean, our coach is encouraging.

When he first met with us, he said, do we want him to be like a drill sergeant with us? You know, what level of intensity do we want him to give us? And I will say he is incredibly, incredibly encouraging all the time. And he just hits the same mark with us every single time. It’s very repetitive.

But I feel like, I think we both really learn a lot every time we sit down and have a conversation with him over the phone.

He keeps pushing us to go further.

And he can recognize when we’re afraid to do something, and he’ll give us a little bit of grace. But that next week, he’s drilling us again, like pushing us to go harder. Our no -brainer offer is we are offering your first clean for a dollar.

And that sounds absolutely insane.

It even sounded insane when I was talking over it with our business coach.

And I would tell you that that has generated some of our hugest clients. I mean, that has been like a game changer because it opened up the door to more clients, more recommendations, more leads.

And we were surprised how far that dollar clean got us.

How important has it been for you to work out that scripting?

Even though you offer a dollar for the first clean, how important has it been for you to nail that down?

It’s been really important, because it kind of, it hones in, so that you’re not just all over the place when you’re trying to explain what it is that you do. And a lot of times, it’s like you’re a good person offering a good product, and you have integrity, and you want to communicate that.

But when you go to communicate without a script or without practice, it’s just like, a mess coming out of your mouth as opposed to having this you know honed in practice where you know what you’re going to say you know how you’re going to say it and you can almost expect better results when you do it that way. Had you ever been an entrepreneur before starting this particular business?

No, never. Did you ever think about wanting to own your own business someday or what was the first time you thought about it? you know, maybe I would like to open my own business? Absolutely. I’ve probably been dreaming about it for about 10 years. Okay.

And let me go to your daughter here. Had you ever thought about wanting to team up and open your own business or was that something that you were maybe excited about or not so much?

Well, for me, my parents would always listen to your podcast and business podcast. And as I started listening to them, I started realizing that I wanted to own a business. It’s www . WhistleWhileYouClean . com. Honestly, the hardest thing was getting over the fear.

It was the fear of the unknown. It was, there was like a cloud of doubt that, you know, you can’t do this. You’re going to fail. There was a few sleepless nights there when we did pull the trigger and join your team and start the coaching process. Even my husband put a little bit of pressure on me from time to time because, um, It just, it was just absolutely scary to take that jump and actually start a business. You’re an entrepreneur.

I’m an entrepreneur. And as they say in Stoic, the obstacle is the way. And so if you let, you let these pinheads get in your way, you’re in trouble. Octononverba is the model of the U .

S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kingspoint, New York. I had appointments with Naval Academy in Kingspoint, Merchant Marine Academy. And Merchant Marine Academy’s motto was octa non verba. In other words, don’t listen to what a person says, watch what they do. Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show.

And thank you for all you do.

In six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences and Amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to implement, how to help you guys implement the SEO. And the coaching is just great because there’s accountability and it’s just a fantastic way to grow your company.

Having a relationship with Thrivetimes, it’s just been amazing for multiclaim. Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to get take a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video.

That’s not what we do. What we do is commercial janitorial service and you

are the experts on marketing and you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right and therefore now my company is much, much larger.

Folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a real client. He may look like a male model.

He may look like a hologram, but he’s a real person.

He’s a longtime client.

He’s a man that we consider to be a friend of The Thrive Time Show and a friend of mine.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show, Kevin.

Welcome on to The Thrive Time Show. How are you, sir? Clay, I’m doing great. I had a great Christmas holiday, and I’m glad to be here. OK, so first question, can you tell us what is your name, first and last name, and what’s the name of your company, sir? My name is Kevin Thomas, and the name of our company is MultiClean.

We are a commercial janitorial service, and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas, and soon to be Arkansas.

And how long have we worked with you approximately at this point, sir? It’s been about six, seven years.

Four thousand percent from February to February.

Now, I can better that. OK, Clay, I don’t think you know this. I don’t think you know this. I’m pinching myself. And if I cry, forgive me. In the last two and a half days, We have bettered our entire month of February in the last two and a half days.

So and the phone’s blowing up. Everything’s just blowing up. You’re right. It is like a rocket ship. So, we’re pinching ourselves, actually. I learned at the Academy at King’s Point in New York, acta non verba.
