Clay, you’re an entrepreneur, I’m an entrepreneur. And as they say in stoic, the obstacle is the way. And so if you let these pinheads get in your way, you’re in trouble. Octononverba is the motto of the U . S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kingspoint, New York.
I had appointments with Naval Academy and Kingspoint Merchant Marine Academy. And Merchant Marine Academy’s motto was Octononverba. In other words, don’t listen to what a person says. Watch what they do. Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do. I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.
You know what I mean? People rave about what they learn from you.
So congratulations. My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean. We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas. We have probably grown probably five times. I think when we first started with you, we had 60 to 65 employees, and now we have a little over 300 employees. Before we got involved with Thrive Time, we didn’t really have any systems or processes in place.
In six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences and Amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to help you guys implement the SEO. The coaching is just great because there’s accountability. It’s just a fantastic way to grow your company. Having a relationship with Thrivetimes, it’s just been amazing for multiclaim. Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to take a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video. That’s not what we do.
What we do is commercial janitorial service. And you guys were the experts on marketing. And you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right.
And therefore, now my company is much, much larger. Folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a real client. He may look like a male model. He may look like a hologram, but he’s a real person. He’s a longtime client. He’s a man that we consider to be a friend of The Thrive Time Show and a friend of mine.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show Kevin. Welcome on to The Thrive Time Show.
How are you, sir? Clay, I’m doing great.
I had a great Christmas holiday, and I’m glad to be here.
OK, so first question, can you tell us what is your name, first and last name, and what’s the name of your company, sir? My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean.
We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas.
And how long have we worked with you approximately at this point, sir?
It’s been about six, seven years. And I’ll pose this question to the flyover audience, but Colton, let me put it directly to you. You’re into business.
In high school, you were reading like Robert Kiyosaki and the Rhinoceros Success by Alexander.
Scott Alexander. All that stuff.
So what if there’s somebody to teach you how to build a business that works without you?
Okay, that’s awesome. That’s a key thing. How to increase your numbers, leads, businesses, the business receive. How to improve your branding, profits, sales. how to delegate effectively. That’s important.
The list goes on and on. You can’t have a business that runs without you without the ability to delegate. There’s really almost too many things to be true.
How to manage employees, how to create products that wow, how to lead your team, how to effectively lead meetings, all of those things.
I want all those things.
How to build scalable processes.
How often have you ever been to a business and you’re like, If this guy waiting on my table that also cooks the food that runs the place feels sick one day, this whole thing is gone. And his last name is the one on the outside. And his last name is, you’re at Don Chewy’s, and his name is Chewy. And his brother’s named Don, and he quit. So it’s not going to work. But we’ve got somebody who can help with all of these things and a lot more.
If you even think about business a little bit, and it’s either intimidating, you don’t know how to enter that threshold, or maybe you’ve kind of dabbled in a side hustle in the past and it didn’t work. Maybe you didn’t know what you were doing. We have somebody here that does because he’s part owner of 160 different companies, most successful, most anointed person we’ve ever met when it comes to business. He’s the author of How to Build a Successful Business.
The one, the only Clay Clark. I’m sorry that I’m so pale, but that is how I come to you today. ” Well, we are fired up to see your pale face, man. You’re one of our favorite people to get to talk to every week. We love getting to do this business blueprints and how we can expand businesses and people that haven’t even started businesses get ideas. We were talking this morning with you during a business coaching call that you were giving us about somebody that came to you one time.
Accidentally, they thought they were going to a Reawaken America event. They’re looking for General Flynn and Mike Lindell and these patriots, and they show up and it’s a business conference. and now they have a business that’s doing almost $100 ,000 a month in revenue because they were at your business conference. They got swept up into the clay sphere and just by being around you, they started a pool maintenance business and now it’s crushing. Well, and I’ll tell you this Colton, a part of that comes from the way that my mind works. I think your family shares that value that the mindset of I try to be resourceful, right?
So if anybody’s out there who’s studied Phil Collins, the song in the air,
tonight what happened Richard Branson ran out of money so he took a basement that was built out of concrete and he thought well I’ll just put some recording gear in here because I don’t have a place to record Phil Collins and he’s coming in to record this new song air of the night and I don’t have the studio and I’m just gonna tell Phil I want there to be extra reverb that’s why I’m doing it And Phil’s thinking, no way this guy’s being serious right now.
True story. And Phil’s thinking, there’s no way that we’re recording in a concrete studio intentionally. This guy’s got to be running out of money. Something weird’s going on. And Richard Branson’s like, no, no, this is part of the plan. And so Phil and Richard Branson recorded in the air tonight.
And so Richard Branson’s like, these lyrics are incredibly deep. This must be an incredible song. Phil Collins is going, surely we’re recording in a concrete basement because there’s some problem happening. And then it took a few years later and a few years later, they, they met each other. They looked at each other right in the eye talking about Virgin records. And Phil goes, I want you to know the lyrics to that song in the air tonight.
I made them up on the spot. They have no meaning. And Richard Branson says, and I want you to know.
I ran out of money, so I just found a basement that wasn’t occupied.
I set up the studio.
I said, and then they’re like, there it is.
So what have I said? Yeah. So there’s that combination. That is what helps make America work. We people use this phrase, make America great. You know, Phil Collins also had the work ethic, you know, kind of famously, his body got so broken down over playing so much that there’s there’s concerts of him taping, literally duct taping the sticks so that he could go through with the concert.
And there’s a lot of people out there watching this that have that kind of work ethic. They’ve worked their bodies to the bone. They’ve worked two, three jobs. They’ve done things. But but this idea, it is a real we’re at a threshold here in a country where it Is that American dream possible? 60 % of small, medium -range businesses, which makes up our middle class, were crushed during the pandemic.
And there was, you know, the number of billionaires grew and existing billionaires got richer. The middle class got squished. People that maybe owned a small business got shoved out because they couldn’t make their lease payments. Now they’re working at a Chipotle’s or, you know, doing something. And there’s a lot of people watching this, they’re like, I live in the greatest country in the history of the world where people risk everything to come to, but they’re struggling. How do I participate in this free enterprise system?
They got that Phil Collins work ethic, but the barrier to entry, at least mentally, is is it still possible for a regular person to move into ownership, and they’re blood, sweat, and tears. They go to bed broken at night.
They don’t have a problem working hard. It’s can I work hard and get ahead? Is that still possible in America? Well, I’ll tell you this, for anybody who goes to thrivetimeshow . com, for 20 years, Dave, I’ve been helping hardworking people that have that work ethic, they’re trying to become super successful, and I coach clients down a proven path. Someone says, well, how do you do that?
I tell people I’ll charge you $1 ,700 a month plus a small percentage of the growth, and that’s how I do it. And so I have thousands of success stories. But Dave, on today’s show, I thought I just wanted to talk about how can you, if you’re watching today’s show, how can you increase your productivity by 10 times? So regardless, if you’re a coaching client or you’re not, I want to walk you through how to 10x your productivity. So there’s five steps I want to get into in these 15 minutes. So step number one, you have to have a daily huddle with yourself.
Let’s go with the analogy. We’re a football team. And you as the business owner, you’re the quarterback. You as the owner of the company, you’re the quarterback. You’ve got to have a huddle. And in that huddle, you’ve got to have the huddle.
You just have to have a huddle. And someone says, well, why do I have to have a huddle? I’m telling you. But the first huddle that has to happen is with yourself. So before the other guys start showing up in the locker room, before the other teammates start filling up the locker room, you have to have that huddle with yourself and design your day.
So someone says, well, how do I design my day? So today I put on my calendar. I said, you know what? We’re going to be on the Flyover Conservative Show at this time. We’re going to call the Flyover Conservatives at this time. I’m going to call Dave Scarlett with his glory at this time.
I’m going to call Darryl Strawberry. I’m not name dropping. I’m just giving you my real day. I’ll call Darryl Strawberry today at this time, the baseball player. I’m going to call Eric Stockelbach at this time. on this wonderful song today with this great artist Brett Rao today at this time.
I’ve got this whole schedule that I’m doing. I’m meeting with Dr. Whitlock at 2 o ‘clock. I’m meeting with Craig Hagan at 10 o ‘clock. You know, I’ve got a whole schedule. And so I have that huddle with myself. So everybody, if you’re watching today’s show, before the battle starts, before the problems start, everybody watching today’s show, you’ve got to block out an hour a day, every single day, to design your day.
And I recommend you do that before you see other people. And Stacey, you know this because you’ve raised great kids. I have five kids. You’ve got to do it before the kids wake up.
You’ve got to do it before the problems start. Stacey, you know that the demands as being a mom and an entrepreneur, if you don’t plan your day, It gets crazy quickly. Yep, no doubt about it. That is huge. That one hour a day designing your day and whatever that looks like.
So for you, I know you get up at like three to start your day. So for a mom, it’s before the kids get up, is what you’re saying.
Before the kids get up, before, you know, so today as an example, I mean, we had a, kind of vague here, because one of my employees will probably watch this.
I had an employee that did a kind of a quasi -crime against humanity, and I found out that, like, previous to 7 a . m. So I had an employee who was basically making up fraudulent hours on their time sheet, and that was a reactive thing I’m gonna deal with today. That was not on my schedule. But when I got up this morning, I sat down and I made a list of the things I’m gonna do for my faith, my family, my finances, friendship, fun, and my focus today. Faith, family, finance, fitness, friendship, fun, focused attention.
Folks, maybe watch this back in slow motion. Step number two, you’ve got to run the play. So now that you’ve got the team assembled and you’ve got a huddle, you’ve got to run the play. Napoleon Hill, the best -selling author of Think and Grow Rich. I named my son after the book. He said, the time will never be just right.
You must act now. The time will never be just right. You must act now. You’re not too young. You’re not too old. You’re not too rich.
You’re not too poor. You’re not too tired. You’re not too sick. People want to look for the exact right time to get started. The time will never be just right. You must act now.
The Bible tells us that this is the day that the Lord the Lord has made, I shall rejoice and be glad in it. And I can tell you with the Reawaken America tour, every single day there was tremendous adversity. After the Reawaken America tour, there’s tremendous adversity. But this morning, on my schedule, on my schedule, run the play, I reached out to General Flynn, like I had scheduled, like he had agreed to, and we did what we had to do this morning because I’m running the play. I think there’s somebody out there watching today’s show, you’re in the huddle, And your figurative linebacker, your employees, your family, your friends are going, well, I don’t know if the time is right to hike the ball. Shouldn’t we call a time out and make another play?
Then the lineman looks. He says, my knee hurts. I don’t know if today’s a good day to call the play. The wide receiver is like, hey, how come I don’t get the ball? The quarterback, the quarterback, you’re the quarterback. You’re looking.
You’re going, OK. The running back says, how come I don’t get the ball? The tight end says, I would like the ball more. The slot receiver says, give me the ball. You can say, hey, there’s only one ball. We got 10 seconds on the clock.
run the play.
You’ve got to run the play. If you don’t run the play, Colton, I mean, nothing gets done. So good. So good. I love the way that you approach it because that massive action, it creates momentum and that momentum creates a new identity. So some of these people
like the cracks of your time, like when you’re like, I got five minutes here, you’re cranking through your to -do list. You’re making a call and that massive action creates a new identity. I know for me personally, after watching you, I’ve now increased my work ethic by probably twice as much and my productivity by probably four times as much just by being around you because I’m like that, that massive action, that massive to -do list creates a new identity of this is the way I operate. And then the more people I’ve met that are hyper successful, when you meet somebody like an Eric Trump that runs multiple organizations and all these hotels, well, they’re also up at 4 a . m.
They’re also got a to -do list.
They also have a calendar. They also have massive action. They decide before the day starts what the dominoes that they’re going to get done that day are, and they start knocking those things over. This is so important for someone watching today’s show. Someone says, I don’t know if this will work for me. This is a client we’ve worked with for a long time.
I met her in Oregon at the Reawaken America tour. She had a bakery, had a great cheesecake that she was making, great cheesecakes, great desserts, no sales. Great cheesecake, no sales.
Great idea, no sales. And so you say, well, how did you help this woman? What we had to do is we had to sit down with Jennifer Jacobson and we had to say, here we go. Well, I can say just from This last January to last January, if you just took that month with our online shipping orders. we grew 240%.
I would say two things, and you did not pay me at all to say this, but I would definitely go to one of your conferences. Because what I tell people, it’s not a motivational conference. It’s an action -packed conference. And for sake of time, I want to make sure we get this idea, we distill this idea. So step number three, we have to push more until we score. So I’ve already called the play.
Now this is something that Dave, you’ll relate to this, you like football, I like football, but here we go. If you say, all right, guys, we’re calling the play. We’re going to run the ball, OK, to the left. We’re going to run through the three hole. So we’re going to run to the left. I’m going to hike the ball.
I’m going to hand it to you, Mr. Running Back. You’re going to go left here. If your running back runs the ball, and it looks unsuccessful, but he gets three yards, The running back comes back to the huddle. I used to play football, not very well, but the running back comes back and goes, man, they’re stopping us. A skilled quarterback and a skilled coach will say. Guess what?
We have four downs. Let’s do it again. And they’ll run the same play. And now it’s second down. We just got three more yards. So now we got third down.
We got four to go. The running back is like, it’s just not working. Can we call a different play? We’re running it again. And you just keep jamming it through. And what happens is, if you get three yards four times in a row, you got a first down.
And that’s how it happens. And so the Patriots, who I used to love, maybe people hate them, maybe they don’t, but Bill Belichick would abuse slot receivers. He would find small people like Wes Welker. He would find people like Danny Amendola. He would find these small players that nobody wanted. And he would say, look, I’m going to throw the ball to you over the middle for three and five yard catches.
And you’re going to get physically abused, but we’re going to move the chains. We’re going to get first downs. That’s how we’re going to do it. And I’m just telling you, as an entrepreneur, I’m sitting down with Jen with Beloved Cheesecakes. I said, Jen, there are five things I need you to do every day. Five things.
things, five things every single day. One, every single day I need you to get a video review from clients that don’t hate you. Two, I need you to gather images of your cheesecakes and post them online. Three, I need you to write 500 words of search engine content. M, I need you to get more Google reviews. Five, I need you to market to your dream 100, make a list of your top 100 grocery stores you want to get into.
And call them all every day until they cry by or die. And she’s like, is there anything else I need to do? Just five moves? I said, just five moves. So I remember our first meeting. She did it.
We got three yards. She comes back to the meeting. she’s we got we got three yards figuratively speaking I got one grocery store that was interested and I got six Google reviews and the six days we were open I go run the play let’s go and at a certain point people recognize this coach guy that i’m paying is relentlessly obsessive about doing the same thing over and over and over again because i see three yard gains but what the world sees dave is after doing it for a year She doubled her company. And that’s how it works. Yeah. What’s your, your board versus bore down that you have a quote on that, that I, the greats bore down while mediocre folks tend to get.
They tend to struggle with boredom. So the average person, mediocre minds struggle with boredom when the greats bore down. And so I’ve been in the studio with a Grammy award -winning recording artist. I won’t mention his name because it was kind of a private moment, but I was there with him and he was working on a lyric to a song. And the song, you as a consumer would go, the song is done and he’s gone. No, gotta do it again.
And he’s just obsessively crafting this lyric and adjusting the EQ and getting it. And when it goes out, it’s perfect. But what you have to do as an entrepreneur, done is an enemy of perfect. So you have to get it done.
And there’s somebody out there watching today’s show.
You’ve been waiting for the perfect time until your kids graduate, until your kids go to middle school, until your kids go to preschool, until your husband retires, until your wife retires, until you get that nest egg. We’re just waiting until the weather changes, until the election. I can’t tell you how many people told me, I’m not going to really take big action until the election. What? I’m telling you, if you’re watching today’s show, You need to take massive action right now, and if you go to thrivetimeshow . com, we’ve got Tim Tebow coming, June 5th and 6th.
Tim Tebow, June 5th and 6th. Colton Dixon, praise and worship leader. We also have Eric Trump joining us in September, and you can get those tickets by going to thrivetimeshow . com. And Dave, we tell people it’s $250 or whatever price you can afford. So there is no pricing issue.
There’s no pricing objection. And if you use promo code FLYOVER, you have a chance to win a backstage pass so you can meet Tim Tebow and so you can meet Eric Trump. Now, step number four, Dave, this is a big step. I want to get your reaction to it, Dave. You’ve got to keep score. We said step one, OK, you schedule a huddle with yourself.
Step two, you run the play. Step three, you push more until you score. But step four, you do have to keep score. You have to measure what you treasure, and you will slack where you don’t track. And Dave, I think that’s something you guys do great here at the Flyover Conservative Show.
You guys objectively track. You’re asking yourself every week, are we wowing our viewers? Are we wowing our audience? How can we improve? You do have to keep score. It has to be some kind of metric of what you’re looking at so that you have a bar to be able to move forward on.
And I want to kind of make a point here with you because we’re in a world that’s infused with Instagram and reality shows and Netflix and a lot of things. And there’s a lot of people that have kind of checked out and for their idea of the American dream is, you know, you see some 22 year old with a Lamborghini because he bought some cryptocurrency nobody had heard of when it was a hundredth of a cent and now it’s $100 and he’s like Those are the ways that get rich because those won’t get marketed very heavily But what you’re saying is things that are not very sexy owning a muffler shop building pergolas cleaning swimming pools You know things that people are probably already doing baking. You have to make a good cheesecake. Jen’s cheesecakes are unbelievable. She has a keto cheesecake that’s kind of like a vitamin. Most people have a pretty good work ethic.
They do something pretty good. But the key to getting rich is not
finding some odd thing and you get lucky. Doing very non -sexy, very boring things that aren’t cool on Instagram. Businesses that people have heard of, maybe they’re an employee doing something right now and they’re like, man, if I ran this place, I’m great at what I do. And you have ways of measure, monitoring, adjusting, and controlling those daily activities where they can take that skill and become the owner and actually thrive and do well. And probably better than the company that they’re an employee for right now. Everybody should listen to what you just said and watch it twice.
I cannot agree with what you just said. I think everybody needs to know this. Step five, it’s so important, so important, okay? Step number five, this is very important. Everyone should write these steps down. You got to watch the game film.
And for anybody out there, you have access to Google right now.
If you don’t, that’s kind of odd.
But do a search for Ernie Adams, okay? Ernie Adams. Who’s Ernie Adams? Ernie Adams is Bill Belichick’s best friend. Huh? Yeah, the legendary coach of the New England Patriots, the guy who’s won a total of, I believe, what, seven Super Bowls?
Eight? Actually, between, you know, the New York Giants, where he was working as a defensive coordinator, then the New England Patriots. This guy, very successful. There it is! That’s Ernie Adams! And Ernie Adams is the guy who’s always watching the game film in real time during the games.
Everybody should go down that rabbit trail and learn about Ernie Adams. Ernie Adams is the one talking to Bill in the headset every game. And so he’s like, uh, coach. We’re seeing a pattern here. If you run to the left, we keep being stopped. Why don’t we fake it to the left and throw it over the middle?
And so this is like Coach Belichick’s coach. This is the coach who coaches the coach. I won’t mention my client’s name, but one of my clients is an NBA coach. He’s an NBA, real true story. One of my clients is an NBA coach. And I won’t mention his name because I can’t do that.
But I can say they’re very good. And he calls me, and we talk. And the conversations we have is because if you’re an NBA coach, you can’t have a coach. But that’s our relationship. So he calls me up, and he’s like, dude, we’re going against the such and such team and they are really good.
Here’s my game plan. And he knows what I’m going to say before I even say it. He goes, I know simplicity scales, complexity fails, cut down my seven keys to the game down to one. And I’m like, And he’s like, OK, I get it. And we’re sitting there on this Google Doc. We’re basically working together, preparing for an NBA game, simplifying the game plan.
And the reason why we’re simplifying the game plan is because the average adult male super athlete can’t remember seven keys to the game while playing lockdown defense. And so we can remember one. And so my job is to sit there on the weekends. I hop on a call just like this or a Zoom, and we watch game film, and I’m I’m pointing out things to him that are obvious and I’m actually just drawing it out of him because he knows.
I just have to draw it out of him and take him out of the emotion and that creates massive success. And so I want to share one final video clip here. Charles Kolaw is one of my clients. This is not a backhanded compliment, but before I met him, I knew of him because he had reached out to me for coaching, and I could not work with him because I was working with his direct competitor. So once I stopped working with his direct competitor, once his direct competitor sold his company, after I had worked with his direct competitor for five or six years, Charles reached back out to me and said, could you help me? And this is what happened, folks.
Here we go. One of our accountants had said, you’ve got to meet this guy, Clay. So we ended up meeting with Clay. And he’s helped us go from Right before we opened the third location now to six locations.
And so we’ve more than doubled our revenue. And these are ground up build gyms. And so it’s not the barrier for entry is pretty high. It’s 20 plus staff at each location. So yeah, it’s been a lot as far as running systems, checklists, workflows, who does what, when and how. Training us on that Clay’s helped a ton.
But this is so important for people to understand this and how it applies to you. Charles, we talk about your goals every day, making that huddle with yourself, faith, family, finance, fitness, friendship, fun. He was already jacked. I mean, this is just it. He was already a successful fitness guy.
Already a successful husband, so he had the faith nailed down. He had the family, he had the fitness, but in business, he didn’t know what to do. And it isn’t a sign of weakness to hire a coach, it’s a sign of coachability. So Tim Grover, this is the coach for both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan both had a personal trainer by the name of Tim Grover. And Tim Grover wasn’t as good at basketball as Kobe or Michael Jordan, but he knew how to prepare athletes to be successful.
successful on the court and so he pushed those guys to be the best they can be so I would just say this is a closing thought for anybody out there watching today show you might look up doctor Zellner and myself you might ask yourself. How is it possible that between Clay Clark and Dr. Zellner, these two guys have built dozens of successful companies when neither one of them came from wealth? Is it because he’s an optometrist? Is it because he’s a former DJ? What allows these guys to be successful in optometry, auto auction, banking, dog training, haircuts, carpet cleaning, marketing consulting, videography, wedding photography, dentistry? What is it that allows these guys to be successful?
Is it magic? Is it some sort of secret power they have? I would just say this. We know proven best practice systems that will work. And just like there’s a way to put together a puzzle, just like there’s a way to build a house with a blueprint, just like there’s a way to assemble a new car, there is a proven process, there’s a recipe. And if you need that recipe, you need that key, you need that golden key that will unlock your success, go to Thrivetimeshow .
com, go to Thrivetimeshow . com, go there right now today, request tickets to join Tim Tebow at the Thrivetimeshow conference, or you can join Eric Trump. the Thrive Time Show conference. Tim Tebow’s coming in June, Eric Trump’s in September, and I want to repeat, if you use promo code FLYOVER, you have a chance to win a backstage pass. Now, if you’re looking for one -on -one coaching, you just go to thrivetimeshow . com.
My first assessment, I always do my 13 -point assessments, 100 % for free. And full disclosure, we charge clients $1 ,700 a month. Or if somebody’s in need, we do what we call a hand up. We don’t do a hand out, but basically we meet the client where they’re at financially. We do some scholarships to help people out. And I would tell you that a little over half of my super success stories are people that started out as a scholarship client.
So if you’re watching today’s show and you feel stuck, just go to thrive timeshow . com and that segment where Dave was distilling what we were talking about on today’s show, watch that segment again, because what Dave just said, there’s people out there looking for a super sexy business idea. You’re looking to go viral. a new idea. It’s not about the idea.
It’s about execution. It’s not about an innovative idea. It’s about execution. Everybody out there, if you have a sound mind, I took algebra three times, so maybe there’s an argument about what that means. But if you have a mind that works, I know you can be successful. Just go to thrivetimeshow .
com and get the party started. And Dave, again, what you said, I could not agree with it more. Well, and you may be listening to this thinking, what does this have to do? I want to know about this secret plan that something’s happening behind the scenes. If you’re not aware at this point that the things that me, for 50 -some years of my life, I’ve dreamed of, of like, they’re actually cutting back government. They’re actually cutting back USAID and these big companies.
deep state funding, like the things that you want to have happen. We’re actually changing our trade deals where America’s going from being, you know, shafted on a daily basis, like things that I never thought were possible or happening on a daily basis. And you can look around, you can be like some guy that was alive during the Renaissance period. I’m like, Hey, I’ll check their buildings and buildings over there, but I’m not participating. Like you’re alive in this incredible moment. And it would, it would go.

One of the beginning phases of our podcast was looking for answers COVID, you know, you turn on the TV and it was, you know, death ticker, but we knew some doctors that had over 10 ,000 patients with zero deaths. And as we kind of started diving into this world, we learned that, you know, kind of like a lot of things, but you don’t really know, but a lot of doctors aren’t created equal. It’s kind of like when you watch these old NFL clips and you see these guys that worked jobs in the off season and they could play in the NFL, they had a passion for the sport. Brett Favre kind of famously was kind of one of those kind of guys, never missed a game, has played hurt, you know, for decades.
He’s the kind of guy you think if you eliminated the money, he’s one of those would still play for free.
Some people go into pro sports, like it’s a great way you can make money.
A lot of people get into different professions, become an attorney, become a doctor. Maybe their parents wanted them to or something, but like this seems like a profession you can make a great income. Some of our conversations and things we’ve dealt with is when we have a go -to situation and we have access to certain ones, we can text or kind of get information from, no matter kind of what the issue it is, There’s one specific guy that I think would do this if there was an EMP and it was all reset. and he was like you know the the town answer guy has a passion for this and would do it outside of the profession because that’s where his mind is all the time and that’s why he has answers on such a wide range of things, more than about anybody that we’ve ever met or known.
He’s from the great and kind of bipolar state when it comes to weather of Minnesota, from official synapse, the one and only Dr. Troy Spurl. Hey guys, you’re not wrong about that bipolar state.
No.
We have friends up there and one specifically lives just outside of Minneapolis. He’s got a ranch just outside of Minneapolis. He was taking these videos because like just this last week his kids were playing outside and they’re running around and doing fun stuff.
They look beautiful outside in shorts.
And then he’s like, the next day was like this big thick coat on and snow’s coming down. And he’s like, it’s a wintry blizzard out here. That’s quite the shock in 24 hours for sure. Yeah, we live it. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, though. That’s for sure.
That’s why Minnesotans are so strong.
They are. They’re strong people. But I meant that sincerely. I say about you, I think if everything was set aside and there was no profession attached to it, you would be thinking of solutions on getting healthy. Why is this person having this problem and what could know figure it again if there’s an EMP or something you would continue doing what you’re doing in the same kind of a same kind of a fashion that’s you’re you’re uniquely wired you know for this moment where the trust in the medical establishment is is lower than ever and and people are starting to realize you know what um I’m not going to blindly in faith trust someone like is my long -term health an issue or they’d want to mask a symptom and get me out the door and on to the next person, the kind of time you work, the kind of solutions that you have. It’s so unique in this space, the way you run your clinic, the type of clinic you have.
And then we always love getting your gems and taking questions for our listeners, because you kind of have something that’s tangible that people can apply right away and actually make their life better, which is, I think, the heart of medicine to start with. Yeah, I know a lot of people get into health care and that is their heart, but then the system burns them out on it. And so thankfully, I’ve been able to remove myself from that. And I always said, for years, I would do this for free.
If there was a way for me to pay bills and not do this, I would still do what I’m doing and do it for free. So it’s always been on my heart that way. I get it. I come by it honestly. My father’s that way too, is just how he likes to help people and, and pour into their lives and stuff. And so I’ve always looked at problems and say that I want to tackle that, like that right there.
And then you get into healthcare and, Oh man, there’s a lot of problems, a lot of things to fix. One of my favorite things about you specifically, you have one page on your website here called conditions that we address.
There’s so many things that are on this list that I just thought were like, people are stuck with it.
If they have this, that’s just the deal. Suck it up buttercup, that’s what you got. You don’t just mitigate the issues. You talked about Brett Favre playing. football for decades after he was already injured and had issues. to the point that people aren’t even experiencing these symptoms anymore.
now your knee doesn’t hurt like you’re like fixing what causes that issue. Yeah, when you actually get to the root cause and the foundational aspect of how the body is supposed to work. Definitely some people have better genes. I’m going to say it that way. I have 95 year olds who breeze through COVID because we had their immune system working like that of a person in their 20s. And then there were people we saw that had 20 that were in their 20s, and they struggled because they had immune systems of someone in their 90s.
So it’s very, very interesting what happens in the body. And sometimes we’re surprised as the next person, when you get things working right, all of a sudden you start getting reports back of what they’re able and capable of doing. One of our patients is the oldest person in the world to climb the six highest peaks in the world. world record. They’re doing a documentary about him. We’ve had patients who are 83 years old riding in the Tour de France.
So different, different things. And, and most of our patients come in, they’re like, I just want to be able to keep up with my grandkids or, or I’m in my 20s. And I just want to run a half marathon or, or feel like getting up for work. It’s gotten to that level of compromise. So we’re always surprised to what people are capable of. And I love that just seeing human potential be maximized like that.
That’s one of my biggest payoffs is just seeing where people were and how they were struggling and then what they end up doing. And I even want this is kind of an aside because I’m very much love supporting entrepreneurs. And I personally believe that when an entrepreneur becomes free, who really knows Christ, they become a spirit. And this is a person who pours into other people.
When you don’t have the chaos of the financial bondage and the other things going on in life, watch these people flourish. Watch what they do in life. You guys are prime examples of stepping up and filling a space when it was needed during COVID. And you, I… put you guys into that category of spirit turner. So it’s the same thing wired the same way.
So I love it. The goal for sure. Another thing has changed.
The, the, the medical space is accessed information.
Now more information doesn’t make everybody wiser.
Sometimes it makes people more confused, but, but this merger between your home being this isolated place and you go to a medical practice has been closed because there’s so much technology available at home. I noticed Fox News and their commercials has this guy, he’s pulling people off the street and he has some kind of a machine where they put their finger on a deal and it tells them about their heart and stuff. The accessibility that people have at home, and something that’s changed more than anything is the scales. gained some weight during COVID. I wasn’t moving a lot and eating poorly. And we bought this scale that, you know, not only just tells you your weight, you don’t just step on it and it’s like, ugh, you know.
Oh, you put on a few pounds. You step on it and it can give you readings of your body and actually has a handheld deal as well attached to it. So it’s kind of giving you an accurate thing. It really drew my attention to the fact that not all fat is created equal. Everybody’s like, I want to lose weight. Well, not all weight’s equal.
You could be losing muscle. You could lose this and that. You can cut off your arm and lose weight. It’s not necessarily a sign of health. But even within, say, we want to lose then fat, gain muscle. Well, not all fat is equal.
created equal. So on that scale, it gave me a very specific, you know, like body fat percentage, you know, and I got that down to 15, sometimes only like 14, nine, I’m kind of trending on that. But then within the fat in the body, you know, gives you a little app reading. And so the access to some of this information gives me like, you know, protein and amount of water and all this kind of stuff. But among the fats, there’s subcutaneous fat, there’s just fat, fat, there’s visceral fat, you know, there’s all kinds of all kinds of fat. I had been at 11.
on visceral fat and it gives you trends and you follow it. I’m now down to eight on visceral fat, which I’m sure there’s still some there, but with this idea of fat being wound around in your body, we want to play you a clip and talk about that specifically because it is spring people heading towards. Everybody ultimately wants to look good for summer kind of a thing, but You can look like a competition bodybuilder and still not be healthy. It’s not all created equal, but this idea of visceral fat, because you see this, it’s more about appearance.
It’s much more complex when you think about your organs and fat wound around these things. And the idea of how would you feel if you had a gorilla sitting on your back all day and you can hardly breathe because of the binding around this. But it’s made disturbingly graphic by this clip that producer Colton found. We watched it a couple of times this morning because it’s almost like you don’t want to look, but you can’t stop. So a little bit of a viewer discretion warning. You’re about to see something that’ll maybe be scary straight.
Check this out. Okay everyone, we’re about to get very up close and personal with a high amount of visceral fat. You have been warned. Now, some of you who’ve been following us for a while have probably seen parts of this body before, but I’m really going to get close so you can see the high amount of visceral fat here. Let’s just start with the heart. The heart, you can’t even really make it out very well because there’s so much visceral fat.
You can look over here on the apex. It’s really hard to make out the apex. And then you can see the lungs. This person died of lung cancer. We’ll get to that in an actual long form YouTube video.
But even the liver had fatty liver disease.
Now, we know that partly because we’ve got the medical history and this person was diagnosed prior to passing away, but there’s just so many other risk factors with the high amount of visceral fat in the area. It’s not shocking that fat is not just going to be on the outside of the liver, but also penetrating and infiltrating the actual hepatocytes or those liver cells.
And then you get down to the.
uh abdomen here and you can see all the visceral fat surrounding the small intestine the greater momentum is just super thick and huge and so the reason why this is so important to show and point out the visceral fat is visceral fat has a high high correlation with with metabolic dysfunction and many other conditions for that matter. But when we talk about metabolic dysfunction, the things that come to mind most often are things like pre -diabetes and actual full -blown type 2 diabetes. But one of the good things about this is you actually can lose visceral fat through diet and exercise. OK, so I do have to ask you, Dr. Sperl, in looking at that, Dave was talking about his decreasing. And how does that happen, then? If that visceral fat is around those organs, how does it pass through the body?
How does it leave? So great question. The biggest thing to take note of is visceral fat’s a lot harder to lose than regular fat. And as you can see there, that fat suffocates your organs. Well, basically around the liver, it literally squeezes your liver. So now your liver can’t detoxify your body as well.
So then you start basically retaining fluid, retaining lymph, things like that. When it suffocates the heart, the heart really can’t pump as well. It doesn’t actually get that rebound. So it’s kind of, it’s literally like, like just breathing, but having like a small child stand on your chest. Now breathe with that child on your chest. It’s a lot harder on your system.
So visceral fat a lot harder to get rid of and what they said there was Very very on point this happens with metabolic dysfunction. And so to improve your metabolism The first thing we need to look at is making sure your insulin and blood sugar is good So the number one thing that causes visceral fat excess sugar intake That’s the majority of people excess carbs will cause you to store fat around your Organ systems on blood work. You can actually measure your triglycerides. So if you have high insulin And blood sugar that’s high or high hemoglobin A1C with high triglycerides, that is the beginning of metabolic syndrome, which means you’re going to start storing visceral fat. And so that’s one of the things you want to do is just minimize and improve your ability to use sugar.
Now, certain diets like the carnivore diet or the keto diet, they’ll start switching because you’re not using sugar. They’ll switch over and use fat for energy. That’s why these diets are having such a high level of success right now, because the pendulum has gone so far one way with these carbs that we’re over -consuming, that people are required to minimize their carbs and start burning off the fat.
So that’s one way to do it, is to minimize the carbs.
But you also have to use and expel energy. So exercise, but not over -exercising. If you cause stress, then your body will actually store fat around the organs. And here’s another one, because a lot of times fasting is really good for you, and it is, it helps clean your systems. But if you have long term fast, you will actually increase the amount of visceral fat. Because back in Jesus’ day, if you fasted, your body would take whatever you had consumed and store it as fat around your organs to keep the organ alive longer.
Makes sense. And so you so you don’t want to necessarily fast for long periods of time as well. Yeah. So it’s really good to get into in today’s age, a good, healthy routine where you’re you’re fasting or intermittent fasting, but not for long periods of time. You’re consuming lower amount of carbs and you’re exercising, not extreme exercise. A lot of times those guys are like, oh, this was good.
I’m going to do more.
And that’s kind of my problem. And so I actually battle the visceral power. And part of it was I was overexercising, I was overtraining. And so that was one of the things that caused visceral fat for me to go up, was overtraining.
And then sleep disorders or anything that causes a cortisol or fight or flight response can cause it. So just like the fasting again, adrenaline is released with short -term stressor, but long -term stressors like fasting, cortisol is released. And cortisol causes you to store fat, especially around the organ. So we wanna minimize the cortisol or balance the core cortisol is a better way of saying it so staying out of fight -or -flight and Into a nice rest and digest so prioritizing sleep moderate exercise weight lifting is great versus actually going for long runs because of the stress that can be put on the body and So there’s a balancing act there when it comes to it, but we want to get the insulin in the body I have a question about supplementation. I have a question about supplementation because I remember hearing at one time different supplements like, let’s say CLA, conjugated linoleic acid does help with that. Is that correct?
And do you have supplements? Do you recommend supplements that might be good for something like that? Yeah. So the fatty acids are crucial. So you need to increase your fat to get rid of the fat because fat is used for hormones. There’s a time too, when it comes to cholesterol, In the 1970s,
cholesterol of 400 used to be normal and They’ve just kept lowering the bar lowering the bar. And so this whole there’s a whole component of cholesterol and one of my favorite colleagues Dr. Ladd McNamara wrote a book 20 some years ago called the cholesterol conspiracy theory and It is it’s and it’s not a conspiracy. It basically points to the fact that we need cholesterol and And we need that to make our hormones.
And so fat, like CLA and other omega -3 fatty acids, they say three grams a day minimum when you have non -alcoholic fatty liver disease or alcoholic fatty liver disease. The number one thing that drives visceral liver fat, alcohol, in exit.
And so non -alcoholic is basically sugar or overconsumption of carbs. So, we want those omega fatty acids. The other thing, berberine is phenomenal at balancing the actual insulin because berberine is also antifungal. So, a lot of things that make your… Berberine? Berberine, B -E -R -B -E -R -I -N -E, berberine. It’s one of my favorite ones.
It’s one of my favorite things to take.
David has it in our cabinet. He’s a supplement king. There’s such a counterintuitive thing here because the mainstream media in conjunction with the medical establishment, for a big chunk of our adult life, went to a fat -free diet. So there’s fat -free dressing, fat -free this, fat -free that.
What’s interesting is with all of my stats that have gone in a great direction, I’ve actually had more fat. What I basically eliminated was anything that comes in a crunchy bag, anything that would last, all that kind of stuff. Anything that’s available that way, eliminating that stuff, and then pretty much more of a meat -based diet with higher fat. and my fat has gone down dramatically. Yeah, yeah. You’ll see that if you I don’t know if you guys caught the interview with RFK, but he was speaking about was it the governor in New Jersey there about No, not West Virginia.
Talking about West Virginia having the highest level of obesity. And I found a lecture that I did back in 2010, 15 years ago, talking about numbers from the CDC and obesity rates. And it just shows how they’ve just climbed up in mississippi west virginia always leading the way well the governor of west virginia he basically said i’m going to put you on the carnivore diet and we’re going to a public way in here monthly for the people to see why he said to the to the governor uh… of uh… a west virginian so very very uh… point And I’m like, man, I hope he was on board with that RFK just kind of threw him out there. But you know, some of those brave conversations I had in 2020, I was gaining weight fairly aggressively.
It wasn’t like I was going through depression or anything specific, but like everybody in 2020, The world was chaotic.
I remember that was my main thing every single day, was checking in on the visceral fat and watching that go down.
It is amazing how much better you feel when that goes away.
I didn’t even realize how hard it was to even play with my kids or to do other things just because of the visceral fat.
It is like somebody’s sitting on top of your organ, so as that goes down dramatically, it helps.
Here’s an interesting tidbit though. This is just, I’m sure the doctor knows, so I’ll just throw this up to you guys here.
Where do you think, how do you think the body loses the fat? Like the actual process, like if you have extra weight and all of a sudden the weight’s gone, how do you actually think that weight leaves the body?
Because you’d think probably pee, poop.
Yeah, bowel movement or something, yeah.
It is not.
84 % of fat loss takes place because it turns into carbon dioxide as it leaves the body.
Really?
So you actually breathe out the fat.
84 % of it is actually breathed out, which is kind of a…
That was my question to you initially, is how does that…
Because you look at that video and you’re like, how does that stuff get out of your body? How do you pull those weeds out? Yeah, and you’re actually breathing it out. Wait, he smells me. I mean, your breath smells like cheeseburger, Joe. That one was from a while ago. I’m digging deep into this.
That’s an old French fry. That’s an old French fry. Yep. Like four years old. I did just want to throw it out there to the Flyover family. If you’re like me, like he mentioned entrepreneurs earlier, that was 100 % me. I just dove in 100%.
I was watching a course yesterday from a real estate professional that has this course on doing stuff and I was like, man, this is really good stuff.
But the guy was severely overweight and you’re talking about this New Jersey governor. There’s a lot of Americans that are like, it’s just so hard on the body to do that. Not that much harder, but it does take intentionality. One of my favorite things about working with you specifically as a doctor, you have all these tools. You have the things that are accessible. available at your office.
It’s pretty amazing. I mean, all these things you got, you can put your body in. This looks like a Casper, the friendly ghost when they put him in that machine right there, they put him in like the steam machine. It becomes like one quarter of the ghost or whatever you got, you got, we detox people with that. And we had, we just had someone who we measured, uh, who was holding onto the fact, couldn’t lose weight. The towel that thing in there turned black from the amount of
chemical toxin So that other machine, yo visceral fat.
So we use r that one right there to t neo. And so that one will visceral fat and they’ve m clinical studies. So we w for people, but we won’t do it if you’re not following a diet and lifestyle program and regimen. So there are things you can definitely do to speed up the process.
We’ve had to do that because people have gotten so far down a negative path, but we have found that because of technology, to speak to your point earlier, David, we have found that there’s things that you can wear at home to measure stuff. So you don’t need to get into the doctor as much, but you can implement and need implementation of certain things.
So our main thing right now is we have stuff that speeds it up, but it’s to help direct people on the best choices for them and to discern through all of the different information that’s out there.
Because right now we’ve got no information, to an abundance of it.
And Dr. Google doesn’t always know what’s best when it comes to your body.
No, in fact, David won’t even allow me to Google anymore.
He’s like, nope, you cannot Google.
Because I’m like, oh, no.
That looks so bad.
Googling health symptoms is like one giant funnel that eventually leads to death.
You’re like, man, my elbow hurts. And it’s like, it’s a tumor. You’re gone. You’re done for. It’s like, man, all I have is elbow pain, but somehow it’s led to death. I’m not sure.
Every time you Google, the funnel eventually leads to death somehow. Yeah, so I don’t even Google anymore. David’s like, you are not allowed to do that.
So at officialsynapse . com, you can help people no matter where they live, whether they’re in your state of Minnesota or anywhere in the United States or many other countries, you work with people as well. There’s things specifically, I think you’re probably one of the few people in the country that actually deal with, when it comes to mold, when it comes to different things, and people are like, I don’t care what they say, something’s not right.
And you know, your spirit inside can tell like, man, there’s something wrong and I’ve got to get this figured out.
And there’s answers.
that have no downside, that aren’t just a medication to cover a symptom. And that’s what you specialize in. Before we let you go today, though, we got to get at least one gem for our listeners. We’re going to be doing a deep dive, long form Q &A for the audience, where you can pose your questions and Dr. Sproul’s going to answer them. And get into the weeds. I’m curious to see what some of you guys come up with.
But he has just gems. He has hundreds of gems he’s just recorded from working with patients over the decades, from everything from professional athletes to just regular citizens like myself.
But give us at least one gem before we end today because these are always so valuable and people can apply them right away. Yeah, sure. I’ll read from this one. This one is similar to the chronic disease of the visceral fat, but all chronic diseases begins when an organ loses its power, and the two most consistent contributors to this are emotions, fight or flight, stress, and tooth infections. Root canals are dead tissue.
We always remove dead tissue everywhere else in the body, gangrene, things of that nature, but we leave it in our mouth when it comes to root canals.
Side note, the COVID vaccines were found with nanotechnology, which ultimately decreased the electric conductivity of blood by up to 47%. And that’s one of the things that we’re finding right now is a reduction in the electrical signaling system. And so we’ve had to shift people to a carnivore diet and and do the salt loading where they actually need more salt, more red meat to actually restore and restore the electric signaling that’s been compromised because of the actual Shedding and and the things of that nature and so it’s we just landed on this part of it in the last two months as far as seeing the shutdown the electric signaling and so We’ve had to almost do a recharge and then boot up the machine internally by doing salt loading increase iodine and switching people to More of what they used to call a very poor diet when it comes to that stuff So it’s very very very very enlightening Wow Well, always enlightening. It’s good to talk to you, Dr. Troy. We so appreciate you, so appreciate your practice. One more thing, we are the highest rated, most reviewed functional medicine clinic in all of Minnesota. What does God actually say about marriage?
And it says, Proverbs 18, 22, in the New King James Version, he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. So he thinks, God thinks it is a really good thing. I think that’s something to maybe be aware of today as we’re looking at our society. There’s so many people that don’t want to get married or are scared of marriage, but God says, He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. Honesty is never an excuse for cruelty.
If I was doing a marriage seminar in 10 seconds, I would tell you this.
I would just talk to the guys specifically, but it probably applies to everybody, but I kind of mostly gear my stuff towards the men, is be nice.
You know, like, was that wrong? Why is she so mad? Why was it? I don’t know. Was it nice? I probably wouldn’t.
It probably wasn’t very nice.
Okay, then is it serving you well?
Well, I was right and she shouldn’t be so upset. I don’t know. Is that serving you? Do you want to be right or do you want to be rich? Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy? And it’s not a matter of sacrificing and just eating crow.
It’s like a lot of the times when I’m observing couples or guys come to me and we’re talking about their marriage, I’m like, I don’t know, maybe this week just try to be 10 % nicer. Be nice. It’s amazing how many little glitches and bumps in the road and sort of pebbles in your shoe that kind of tends to get rid of. Your grandma had a saying that I thought was really, really good. Like Grandma Zimmer, she’d say, honesty is never an excuse for cruelty. Throughout my life, there’s me.
And so there’s just, you know, we have this example of there’s you, and there’s me, and there’s us. When we come together, that’s a new thing. It’s spiritual. It’s in the spirit realm, there’s a new thing created, and there’s also in the physical. Now we’re joining assets, and we’re, you know, you’re gonna get this, and I’m gonna get the trash, and we’re doing life together. And hopefully, the goal with marriage is you’re both better, there’s a multiplying effect, you’re both better because of us.
There’s the you, and you think, man, I could live my whole life and never think about another person and go to the grave. But there’s another version out there that’s available that God has for me, a man who finds a wife, finds a good thing, and finds favor with the Lord. So I go from being just taking care of David. And when we first got married, I wasn’t super great at the us. I’d kind of been a, I was on my own by the time I was 16. I hadn’t really seen a lot of good marriages modeled.
And I was kind of this couch -surfing, gypsy kind of a kid that’s like, have you ever seen Lady and the Tramp? You know, I was kind of the tramp. She was a lady. And I didn’t have a lot of structure or accountability. I didn’t really answer to anybody. I kind of paid my own bills for a long time.
I didn’t have to call and say I was going to be late or, you know, a lot of things that are considered courteous. And so just kind of living for me. And part of, you know, in the dating process, most of even that initial interaction, it’s like, oh man, she’s fine. You know, boy, she catches my eye. You know, it’s about kind of what you gain, what you gain by gaining their favor, gaining their attention. hold her hand, you want to kiss her, you know, you’re like, hey, it’s all, but it’s sort of inward driven, meeting your needs of what you’re wanting.
And there’s a, there’s a kind of a moment in the, in the ceremonies where you come together and you say, okay, for better, for worse, the best of us part, you have some sort of, of, of vow that saying my life is no longer just about me. It’s about, hey, no matter what happens, I got you.
I’m going to be faithful to you. I’m going to take care of you.
And you take care of each other.
And you kind of go from, it’s just me, to where there’s this new thing that was created called us.
And us, us isn’t me, and us isn’t her.
Us is a whole new thing. I can maybe even do well, and us can die.
And us is like a plant, you know, potted, you know, planted in a pot that now is this third party. It’s almost like a child, okay, except for it’s not till 18 and they kinda, you know, hey, we’ll see you later, I got other friends. You know, and us is this thing that you’re gonna nurture and take care of and prune and look at and fertilize and take care of and protect with your life that’s a third party entity that’s not you individually. That is exactly right.

And I guarantee, if there’s a cut in the supply chain due to weather, any other kind of political attack, or an election year, your kids are going to be looking at you saying that exact same thing if all you’ve stored is rice, beans, and maybe some pudding. They’re like, where’s the beef?
They want to substitute real beef for stuff made in a lab.
Even if you’re, you know, kind of a prepared person, you’ve got a few things stored, it’s hard to take care of the protein source in a way that’s still enjoyable.
These prices are so good and the beef isn’t in such good quality, you could be storing this beef and use it on a regular basis.
This could be part of your Taco Tuesday experience because you don’t have to worry about storing it in a freeze location. The girl has tacos. So go to flyovermeat . com, use promo code flyover for a huge discount. Again, flyovermeat . com, promo code flyover.

Clay Clark is here somewhere. Where’s my buddy Clay? Clay’s the greatest. I met his goats today. I met his dogs. I met his chickens.
I saw his compound. He’s like the greatest guy. I ran from his goats, his chickens, his dogs. So this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen, right? His entire life, Clay Clark, his entire life is marketing.
thousand percent from February to February.
Now, I can better that. OK, Clay, I don’t think you know this. I don’t think you know this.
I’m pinching myself. And if I cry, forgive me. In the last two and a half days, we have bettered our entire month of February in the last two and a half days. So and the phone’s blowing up. Everything’s just blowing up. You’re right.
It is like a rocket ship. So We’re pinching ourselves, actually.
I learned at the Academy at King’s Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does. not what they say. But I recognized at the age of 15, I’m going, you know what? I am not going to live that way. And so I started a company out of my parents’ basement called DJConnection .
com, and I decided I am going to have success. And so I reached out to millionaires and people that I kind of knew through church and friendships and people that, parents of my friends, and I said, what book would you recommend that I read? I’m a 15 -year -old asking this question. True story. And I kept being told, you got to read Hello, hello, hello. Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Radio Show.
It’s an exciting time. Also, I think a treacherous time, a spooky time also. But it’s always, you know, danger is a good time. Today, my guest is Clay Clark. And I went out with Tom Wheelwright to visit Clay with Eric Trump also. And the reason I want to talk to Clay this morning is a very important subject called study.
And the reason I say that is things are changing so fast, and many people are completely missing the show. You know, things are changing at rapid, rapid, rapid speed. Technology is changing. And so I went to Tulsa, well, again, with Tom Wheelwright and Eric Trump. And the thing I was so impressed about Clay is his work. called study.
I don’t know, you guys must be in your water or something, Clay, but boy, I was so, so impressed how big you guys are. But what really impressed me was you have this huge congregation. They’re all about guys your age. They’re on fire. And you start your classes at five in the morning. Now, let me talk to you about study here.
We show our books here. Now, this is, how I study, you know, this is the creature from Jekyll Island, it’s on the Fed, and Clay’s doing the same thing, we study.
So I go out to Clay’s place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he’s built this huge compound out there, and you guys start at five o ‘clock in the morning, that’s not by Zoom, they drive there, they show up five o ‘clock, bright -haired, bushy -tailed and all this, and they’re on fire, your group is on fire.
So that’s what was unclear.
This technology, you tell your group, I was so, so impressed because like I said, studies became a bad word. I got into fights in my own company because our staff didn’t want to study anymore.
And I just, I don’t know how they can not do that. So Clay, anyway, welcome to the Rich Dad Radio Show. That’s what I wanna talk to you about, is how do you do it? Five o ‘clock in the morning, you have hundreds of people showing up in your huge, huge, huge auditorium on your property to study.
Anyway, welcome to the show, Clay, and what turns you on so much? That’s what I wanna know. Give us a little bit about your background. My name is Karime Schofield, and the name of our company is Whistle While You Clean. I am Sophia Schofield. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and we service the tri -state.
So Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana. We were getting a phone call. and we were like, why is someone calling our business line? That’s unusual. And we picked it up, and it was a lead. I mean, it’s been incredible, Clay.
We’ve gone from zero to 100 % growth. We’re a full -functioning company. It’s great. We’re blown away at how well we’re doing. So working with you guys, you guys have really taught us a lot about generating leads and pursuing our dream 100. So we have a list of customers that we want to market to.
And so we’ve been making phone calls. We’ve been showing up in person. We’re trying to get near the businesses that they would visit if they were visiting like a hair salon or something. And then we start calling them and we just start pursuing them. And then the other thing that we do is when we do do cleans, we take a lot of video testimonials and we post those to our website so other customers can see. And then we also upload a lot of images of the things that we do.
And so We’re also asking our clients for Google reviews after we’ve cleaned their houses. And so it’s this constant cycle of doing those things over and over and over again. I would say if you’re on the fence, go to one of Clay’s conferences. They are hilarious. They’re fun. They’re educational.
They’re so good that even my teenagers like them. And I would say don’t let fear hold you back. If you want to start a business, do the obvious thing and hire someone who knows how to run businesses. If I wanted to get in shape, I’d hire a gym person, you know, a personal trainer. This is like the personal training for business. It has been absolutely amazing.
I mean, our coach is encouraging. When he first met with us, he said, do we want him to be like a drill sergeant with us? You know, what level of intensity do we want him to give us?
And I will say he is incredibly, incredibly encouraging all the time. And he just hits the same mark with us every single time.
It’s very repetitive, but I feel like, I think we both really learn a lot every time we sit down and have a conversation with him over the phone. It’s it’s he keeps pushing us to go further and he can recognize when we’re afraid to do something and he’ll give us a little bit of grace. But that next week he’s drilling us again, like pushing us to go harder.
Our no brainer offer is we are offering your first clean for a dollar.
And that sounds absolutely insane.
It even sounded insane when I was talking over it with our business coach. And I would tell you that that has generated some of our hugest clients.
I mean, that has been like a game changer because it opened up the door to more clients, more recommendations, more leads.
And we were surprised how far that dollar clean got us.
How important has it been for you to work out that scripting even though you offer a dollar for the first clean? How important has it been for you to nail that down? It’s been really important, because it kind of, it hones in, so that you’re not just all over the place when you’re trying to explain what it is that you do. And a lot of times, it’s like you’re a good person offering a good product, and you have integrity, and you want to communicate that.
But when you go to communicate without a script or without practice, it’s just like, a mess coming out of your mouth, as opposed to having this, you know, honed in practice where you know what you’re going to say, you know how you’re going to say it, and you can almost expect better results when you do it that way. Had you ever been an entrepreneur before starting this particular business?
No, never. Did you ever think about wanting to own your own business someday? Or what was the first time you thought, maybe I would like to open my own business? Absolutely. I’ve probably been dreaming about it for about 10 years. OK.
And let me go to your daughter here. Had you ever thought about wanting to team up and open your own business?
Or was that something that you were maybe excited about or not so much? Well, for me, my parents would always listen to your podcast and business podcast. And as I started listening to them, I started realizing that I wanted to own a business. www . WhistleWhileYouClean . com.
Honestly, the hardest thing was getting over the fear.
It was the fear of the unknown. It was there was like a cloud of doubt that, you know, you can’t do this. You’re going to fail. There was a few sleepless nights there when we did pull the trigger and join your team and start the coaching process. Even my husband put a little bit of pressure on me from time to time because it just it was just absolutely scary to take that jump and actually start a business. You’re an entrepreneur.
I’m an entrepreneur.
Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show. And thank you for all you do. The ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.
Uh, we’ve added, we’ve, I think when we first started with you, we had 60 to 65 employees, and now we have a little over 300 employees. Before we got involved with Thrive Time, we didn’t really have any systems or processes in place. I’ve probably been to, oh, in six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences and. Amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to help you guys implement the SEO.
And the coaching is just great because there’s accountability and it’s just a fantastic way to grow your company. Having a relationship with Thrivetimes, it’s just been amazing for MultiClean.
Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to get a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video.
That’s not what we do.
What we do is commercial janitorial service and you guys are the experts on marketing and you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right and therefore now my company is much, much larger. Folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a real client.
He may look like a male model.
He may look like a hologram, but he’s a real person. He’s a longtime client.
He’s a man that we consider to be a friend of The Thrive Time Show and a friend of mine.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show, Kevin. Welcome on to The Thrive Time Show. How are you, sir? Clay, I’m doing great. I had a great Christmas holiday, and I’m glad to be here.
OK, so first question, can you tell us, what is your name, first and last name, and what’s the name of your company, sir?
My name is Kevin Thomas, and the name of our company is MultiClean.
We are a commercial janitorial service, and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas, and soon to be Arkansas.
And how long have we worked with you approximately at this point, sir?
It’s been about six, seven years. Clay Clark is here somewhere. Where’s my buddy Clay? Clay’s the greatest. I met his goats today. I met his dogs.

4 ,000 % from February to February. Now I can better that.
Okay, Clay, I don’t think you know this. I don’t think you know this. I’m pinching myself and if I cry, forgive me. In the last two and a half days, we have bettered our entire month of February in the last two and a half days. So, and the phone’s blowing up.
