(Speaker 4)
I first was pushed into work because my mental sensor was that money is my gateway to freedom.

(Speaker 33)
Klaus Christian Kleinfeld is a German businessman known for leading global giants like Siemens, Alcoa and Arconic. As CEO of Siemens, he modernized the company. After Siemens, he took the helm at Alcoa, later leading its transformation and spinoff

(Speaker 32)
into Arconic, where he focused on advanced manufacturing and aerospace.

(Speaker 4)
My mother always used to say, what people don’t pay for isn’t worth anything. I was thrown into work at an early age. My father died when I was very young. Then I decided this is part of my life and I better do the things that I like and develop this very simple principle. I love it or I don’t love it and I can change it.

(Speaker 4)
If I come to the conclusion that I can’t change it to love it, then I leave it. I always was very clear and that’s probably, life is not endless. You better use it in a way that you enjoy it.

(Speaker 29)
You could be anywhere doing a lot of different things,

(Speaker 53)
but you chose to be here.

(Speaker 25)
Some shows don’t need a celebrity narrator to introduce the show, but this show does. In a world filled with endless opportunities, why would two men who have built 13 multi-million dollar businesses altruistically invest 5 hours per day to teach you the best practice business systems and moves that you can use? Because they believe in you. And they have a lot of time on their hands. This started from the bottom.

(Speaker 25)
Now they’re here. It’s the Thrive Time Show, starring the former US Small Business Administration’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Clay Clark, and the entrepreneur trapped inside an optometrist’s body, Dr.

(Speaker 6)
Robert Zuner.

(Speaker 25)
Two men. Eight kids, co-created by two different women.

(Speaker 7)
Thirteen multi-million dollar businesses. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Here’s the clip. Started from the bottom, and now we’re at the top. Teaching you the systems to get what we got. Colton Dixon’s on the hoops. I break down the books. The C’s bringing some wisdom and the good roots. As the father of five, that’s why I’m alive.

(Speaker 7)
So if you see my wife and kids, please tell them hi. It’s the C and Z up on your radio. And now, three, two, one, here we go! We started from the bottom, now we’re here.

(Speaker 42)
We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. Started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here.

(Speaker 7)
We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Well, folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a gentleman by the name of Klaus Kleinfeld, who’s the author of the new book, Leading to Thrive. This former CEO of Siemens and Alcoa, this man has got decades of wisdom, despite the fact that he looks as though he may have just turned 25 years old.

(Speaker 7)
Klaus, welcome on to the Thrive Time Show. How are you, sir?

(Speaker 4)
Wonderful, Cleve, pleasure to meet you.

(Speaker 7)
Now, real quick, I know this is kind of a bizarre question, but so many of our wonderful guests have these long, wonderful, beautiful bios. And there are certain things that I think that people should know about you and your background before we get into your new book. So is there anything about your background,

(Speaker 7)
kind of looking back over your storied career, that you believe all of our listeners know before we talk about your new book?

(Speaker 4)
That they know or that they don’t know.

(Speaker 7)
That they should know.

(Speaker 4)
That they should know. Oh my God, you know, so had a long career and ran two large companies, one headquartered international, one headquartered in Europe, which was Siemens and the other one headquartered here at Alcoa,

(Speaker 4)
both on a global scale, you know. I was born in the North of Germany, raised in Germany, I’m family of refugees from East Germany. So my father died when I was very young and so I had the interesting privilege, which at that time I felt as a burden, that my mother sent me back to my relatives quite frequently.

(Speaker 4)
So I spent quite a bit of time growing up in East Germany, but fortunately having the right passport and living in the West, you know. So that’s probably interesting. I want to ask you this because you’ve had so much success, you’ve been the CEO of top international companies. Tell us about your

(Speaker 5)
childhood, like what was your life like as a young child growing up? Well, I would say a happy

(Speaker 4)
childhood, but certainly not without challenges. And the thing that I mentioned, I grew up in a, as I said, my family were refugees from East Germany, classical Second World War, past Second World War generation, you know, and formed by, their life had been stolen away by the Second World War, you know, fled from the East to the West, started to build up their own life. My father did his education in the evening and on the weekends, in the end became an

(Speaker 4)
aerospace engineer, but worked his way up there. And my mother worked and then when I came, I was there, that’s who she took care care of. My father died when I was 10, you know, and life changed again, you know, and she started to go back to work. And I had my first paying job when I was 12, you know, so, but I mean, I had a happy, happy upbringing, you know, in a very small apartment in a neighborhood that was, he would call it an immigrant neighborhood, you know, but a pretty bit of a rough neighborhood,

(Speaker 4)
I would say in Bremen, you know, Bremen is a town that’s in the north, very much coined by trade, you know, and, and, yeah, trade, basically international trade, you know, it’s a harbor town.

(Speaker 7)
You’re 12 years old, you start working. I mean, when did it occur to you, you know what, self, I would like to become a CEO of a multinational corporation. I mean, when did you start to have aspirations for something more?

(Speaker 7)
I mean, you’re working at 12 years old.

(Speaker 4)
Yeah, that was not something that I aspired. I mean, I wanted to make good money. I wanted to basically have my freedom. Money meant freedom to me. I wanted to do something that I found interesting and be with people who I found interesting that I enjoyed working with. This was my main motivation.

(Speaker 4)
In the end, what is very strange, what drove me to go up and up and up was more the disillusionment that I saw when I was working in large organizations, that I had the impression that my bosses didn’t exactly do what I thought they should be doing and we could have done much better. I thought, well, it might be good if I become the boss. And that led me very far to become the boss of all of that. But in the end, I continue to enjoy working as a team,

(Speaker 4)
and dealing with complex issues.

(Speaker 5)
Did you have a book or a couple books that really inspired you or ignited a passion within

(Speaker 7)
you to be more and do more?

(Speaker 4)
Well, only in later life. In early life, it was more life’s experience that coined me. I mean, frankly, there wasn’t that much time in the beginning to read books, other than the ones that the school also obligated me to read. But later in life, I got heavily trenched in philosophy. I like philosophy, I like psychology, social psychology. My general view is very strongly my general view is very strongly formed by philosophers like a man who can to cut proper. People like the gun shine, you know, so people who taught me something

(Speaker 4)
about how to think about think about the world how a mask some of the German guys, you know, so that’s the has been has had a very strong influence on me, yes.

(Speaker 7)
So you know you as as you became a CEO and ran these multinational corporations, I have no idea what that would be like, but you started to, I’m sure, journal and write down some observations that you had, and you started seeing maybe key employees

(Speaker 7)
that were struggling with burnout or overwhelmed or were kind of struggling in the workplace. How often did you see burnout becoming an issue for employees? struggling in the workplace. How often did you see burnout becoming an issue for employees?

(Speaker 4)
Very interestingly, I saw it more and more frequently over the years. And the thing that I found most scary was that it also happened with young people. And not just in large organizations, but also founders. And that was one of the driving

(Speaker 4)
forces for me to also get into this aspect of saying, because as a German, you are trained to be efficient, you know, time management, you know, and my mantra was life is a marathon or ultra marathon, you know, so I believed in that until I saw, I love to play tennis, you know, and I saw some odd phenomena in the business world, the tenure of CEOs got shorter and shorter and shorter, you know, and people got more often burned out, you know, or kicked out, you know. And I saw in the tennis world, you know, the top stars became older and older and older,

(Speaker 4)
you know, and I thought, how is that going to work? Because both are high performers. And so I looked into the high performance world and saw that there was an understanding of certain things that had not come into the business world. And that was number one, energy is all that matters. You have to manage your energy.

(Speaker 4)
What is that?

(Speaker 7)
How does that work?

(Speaker 4)
That was one thing. The second thing was, I mean, how do you how do you deal with it? What’s the cadence? You know, how do you manage manage this? And what is energy at all? You

(Speaker 57)
know?

(Speaker 7)
So you know, you’re, when you were working as a CEO, I just want to ask you, what were your hours that you were keeping when

(Speaker 5)
you were the CEO of Alcoa, when you’re running Siemens. What was your schedule like at that time?

(Speaker 4)
There’s really not one day that is the same. I mean, that’s the interesting thing about being a CEO. Every day is quite different, partially also because a lot of chaos happens. I mean, every bad thing, every real bad thing, basically boils up to the top.

(Speaker 4)
So you deal with it almost on a daily basis, you deal with some type of a crisis. But normally, when I was here in New York, I would get up at 4.45 in the morning, would do my workout. I very strongly believe in that, then got into know, and we live outside of Manhattan. And the moment I had a driver, the moment I get in the car, you know, I had phone calls to those places that were already live, which is Asia and Europe, you know.

(Speaker 4)
So I did the phone calls, worked on my computer, did some email, you know, then arrived in the office. And typically in the office, meetings all day, you know, conversations, you know, or you will travel, you will travel, you know, leave, leave and leave and be gone for a while. But the day there would basically pretty much in general be like that, you know. And in the evening, you will typically

(Speaker 7)
have a dinner with some some partners. Now you have some very, let’s say, unusual theories on avoiding burnout in your newest book here, Leading to Thrive. And so I have some notes I have here I want to unpack with you. One is you talk about restorative activities like sleep.

(Speaker 7)
You don’t see a lot of CEOs writing books talking about restorative sleep. You don’t see a lot of CEOs writing books talking about restorative sleep. You don’t see a lot of CEOs writing books about the importance of involving themselves in deliberate leisure. Tell us about some of the tools that you provide

(Speaker 7)
readers of your new book.

(Speaker 4)
Yeah. So the first thing is, what is energy? And there are really just, I mean, three major sources of energy, body, mind, and soul. And on the mind side, I would separate it into mental and emotional things,

(Speaker 4)
you know, so the body side is relatively well understood. You mentioned sleep, sleep has only in the last years, you know, made breakthroughs and understanding and it’s getting added to it, how important sleep is also for cognitive functions, you know, so, and I mean, if we would have had that conversation, let’s say 10 years ago, cognitive functions.

(Speaker 4)
If we would have had that conversation, let’s say 10 years ago, I would have said sleep is for the faint ones and you don’t really need much of it. But I think that the science now has shown that that is not true and that you probably, even if you are somebody who copes with little sleep and most people kid themselves that they need that, that six hours is probably the absolute minimum that you should have on average at least.

(Speaker 4)
So the physical world is very well understood, but what does it mean emotionally? How do you get emotional energy? So there’s a lot of people who think, oh, you know what, I come into a meeting and somebody really annoys me and I get mad

(Speaker 4)
and I exert emotional energy. You know, and the real point is that emotional energy you have under your own control, that you allow you allow somebody to basically trigger this emotion. It’s not that that person has the capability to have that emotions on you. You are the one who allow that emotion to happen. And there are a number of methods to not allow that,

(Speaker 4)
you know, to stay calm and not allow somebody else to control your own flow of energy. Same thing on the mental side, you know, on the mental side, the big question is, what do you focus on? You know, there’s the wonderful story

(Speaker 4)
about the old shoemaker who has to, who is getting an age that he wants to turn his business over, has two sons, doesn’t know which son to give it to, sends the two sons into Africa and one son sends a note back and said, oh, father, I have bad news, you know, and everybody is barefoot, there’s no market here. The other son sends a note and says, father, great news, you know, everybody is barefoot, the market is endless, please send me as many shoes as you can get, you know. So so this is a, these are examples where you see how does that work, you know, and the last source of energy is spiritual,

(Speaker 4)
you know, which is a source that rarely gets talked about, but probably one of the most powerful ones, if fulfilled and also if not fulfilled. You know, so those are things, and then the question of purpose, I mean, purpose is to energy

(Speaker 4)
what basically the laser does to light. It focuses it and it allows you to break through pretty much every boundary.

(Speaker 7)
In your book, you talk about how to avoid burnout. You also talk about cultivating self-awareness. Now, self-awareness, this is something odd about self-awareness, is one, like I’m very aware that I’m one of the most pale people I’ve ever met.

(Speaker 7)
That’s true. I’m also aware that I used to stutter, so I tend to talk faster than most people. I’m also aware that people say I’m one of the more energetic humans they’ve ever been around. That’s great, those are all things people say. There’s also people that don’t like high energy people, okay.

(Speaker 7)
There’s other people that think I should go outside more, okay. So not everybody’s important for we, you, us, everybody, to have self-awareness. In your book, you talk about self-awareness. Tell us a little bit about what your book has to say about self-awareness.

(Speaker 4)
Well, I think the more you know about yourself, the stronger you get. Because there’s this interesting thing, that the aspect of feedback. There are a lot of things that other people know about you that you don’t know about yourself.

(Speaker 4)
And feedback is the way to learn that. So, because you might have this blind spot that you don’t see. That’s why I strongly believe in feedback. And I also strongly believe in knowing how others see you. And it gives you the strength. You can then decide, I mean, with all the things that you are rattling down, I’m speaking

(Speaker 4)
fast, being energetic, being pale, you know what, you say, I like that or I don’t like that. You know, if you don’t like being pale, you know, you can get tanned. You don’t even have to go outside. There’s a great example here in our world that does it every day, I guess. So if you don’t like to speak that fast, you can probably slow it down. But I think what you probably have gone through consciously or unconsciously is that you say,

(Speaker 4)
I like it.

(Speaker 75)
That’s me.

(Speaker 4)
I’m fine with that. There might be other things where you say, I don’t want that impression. You know, if people feel that, I mean, I’m not listening, I’m ignoring people, you know, because I’m speaking fast, which I don’t think they say, you know, but you probably would think differently about this, you know, so more knowledge about yourself

(Speaker 4)
and the perception that you create outside gives you strength. You can then decide, you know, how do I wanna be as a person, you know?

(Speaker 7)
One of the things that I, I like about interviewing CEOs and people like you who’ve been on the planet for a while, despite being 25 years old, you have ran a company, companies with thousands of employees and you’ve done it.

(Speaker 7)
There’s a certain diligence it requires. You’re, you’re getting up at 4 430, you’re doing it. You’re getting up at 430, you’re doing it. It sometimes is a seven-day-a-week operation for you as a CEO. You’ve done it. And so whenever you put out a book, whenever somebody your level puts out a book, it’s a lot of texture, a lot of patina, a lot of… It’s like a stew that’s been brewing for years. And when it comes out, there’s a lot of richness to it. And so you talk about these four energy quadrants in your book. And I think everybody should really marinate on these four quadrants.

(Speaker 7)
Quadrant one, you talk about performance. Quadrant two, you talk about survival. Quadrant three, you’re talking about burnout. And then quadrant four, you’re talking about renewal. If you could kind of unpack those quadrants a little bit. I know our listeners will be taking notes. I really want to hear from a guy like yourself, a CEO who managed thousands of employees.

(Speaker 7)
Tell us about these four quadrants.

(Speaker 4)
Yeah. So the first thing that we have to introduce here is what does energy do during the course of the day? Usually you wake up in the morning and you feel recharged. You have a lot of energy. Then the day goes on, and the more you have to exert willpower

(Speaker 4)
or the more people annoy you or whatever, your energy gets burned through. So typically in the evening, energy and willpower is at a very, very low point. So that in mind, and you need to recharge, you need to recharge, constantly recharge.

(Speaker 4)
It’s like the fuel that you have to put in the tank. That’s how you have to think about the body is there, but if you don’t get fuel, energy, it’s going to run out eventually. So, you typically want to toggle between being in performance zone and being in renewal zone. So, in performance zone, you exert some energy, you are in a stable performance, and then you recharge when you go into your renewal zone. What happens in real life, you want to be in performance zone, suddenly you get a phone

(Speaker 4)
call. The phone call is, hey, like 9-11, Klaus, just go over to, I was in New York, my office was on the 56th floor of Citibank building, and somebody came into, and I was in New York, my office was on the 56th floor of Citibank building and somebody came into and I was on a conference call. Somebody comes to my office and said, hey Klaus, a plane just flew into one of the towers, you know, and I was on a conference call with Munich and I said to them, give me a second, I’ll walk over, you know, and I look at it and say, okay, well, has anybody seen it? No, nobody has seen it. Probably a small plane. I go back into my office, which was on the other side. But whatever, 20 minutes later, somebody comes in again and says

(Speaker 4)
a second plane. And by that time, you know, this is not accidental. There’s something major going on here. So that obviously gets you into a survival zone. Boom, you’re suddenly in a very different zone. The cool thing about the humans is the moment you get into survival zone, you become superhuman. Adrenaline pushes through your body, you know, and you get a narrow focus, but you feel like you can actually do anything.

(Speaker 4)
The problem with that is this will not last for very long. If you’re very good, it will last for an hour, but then you burn out, boom, you fall down. So what you have to do is you basically have to now manage to get from survival zone back into performance zone, or ideally even in renewal zone, you know, so to avoid burnout, because the moment you are in burnout,

(Speaker 4)
it’s very hard to get out of this, you know, and if you need to perform, you know, then obviously you can’t perform. So that’s the trick, and the question is, how do you do that? And first of all, you have to know which zone you’re in. Not that difficult. You look at your breathing.

(Speaker 4)
You look at your heart rate. You look at your blood pressure. And you realize I’m stable in performance zone. The moment you go into survival, things change very quickly. The moment you are in survival, you need to know, how do I get back into performance?

(Speaker 4)
How do I do this? Routines help a lot. You know, if you have rehearsed a certain situation that

(Speaker 7)
you have an answer to it, you can go back. I want to totally respect your time, but I also want to try to extrapolate as much wisdom from you as possible. What kind of routine did you keep

(Speaker 4)
while being the CEO of these multinational companies? I mean, did you have a certain flow, a certain rhythm? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, one thing I told you already, I mean, I religiously work out every morning, you know, I religiously work out every morning. It gives me more energy and I really enjoy it. I wouldn’t want to have a day where I don’t do it, you know. So that’s a big one. And then other things are, I mean, if I try to design my environment in an uplifting way,

(Speaker 4)
what that means is I try to have an environment, you know, where I get energy. I mean, you see some paintings hanging here, you know, and these paintings mean something to me. I mean, they give me energy, you know? So, and when you deal with people, the people that you have around you, if you have only naysayers

(Speaker 4)
around you, or people who in general come in negative, I mean only emphasize the negative, it drains energy. Who do you surround yourself with? What type of office do you have? So those are very, very important things. How do you sit through a meeting, where you, a really annoying negotiation,

(Speaker 4)
do you allow the other side to provoke you? Or do you basically just sit down, slow down, concentrate on your breathing, and just say, you have no control over me, this goes one, you’re in one, you’re out, fine, all fine, and I will become as a fish.

(Speaker 41)
As a fish. As a fish.

(Speaker 7)
Okay, now I love you. I love you’re talking about your non-negotiable. You’re definitely gonna work out every day. Do you have any other non-negotiables to this day that you say, you know, I’m working out every day,

(Speaker 6)
seven days a week, and I’m also, what was there any other non negotiable?

(Speaker 4)
to me, very, very important to me. And there are certain times if you don’t block certain times, that you that you do something with family, you know, it will eat all of your life. I mean, certainly running large, large corporations will do that. So you have to be very clear, I mean, in protecting these times, you know, and so creating special moments with the family, you know, having some quality time. And then the question always is, you know, there’s always something else that you need

(Speaker 1)
to do.

(Speaker 4)
There’s always some type of crisis. And I always ask myself, if I don’t get to this now, you know, these crisis, you know, will somebody get hurt? And in most cases, the answer is no, you know, so then I’d say, okay, I mean, I will spend the time with my family as I had

(Speaker 77)
originally planned.

(Speaker 7)
Looking back over your career, if you could give yourself give your younger self advice, is there anything, Klaus, that you’d look back at and say, younger self, younger self, stop doing that, or younger self, do that more? Is there any advice you would give your younger self?

(Speaker 4)
Yes, the younger self should have probably slept a little more. So yeah, that’s one thing. And the other thing is younger self sometimes pushed through meetings just because I was thinking of time management and got late into the evening and I wanted this done, you know. And we got this done because we always get it done. Next morning I get up, I look at the results and I think, oh man, this is not really a

(Speaker 4)
great result. And we had to do it over again, you know, so rather we could have said, you know, let’s nine o’clock, let’s call the night and night, you know, and just relax and reflect on it. And we freshly meet tomorrow and think about it. Think about it. Or everybody looks at a certain topic there, you know, yeah, that’s what I would have told you. I’m

(Speaker 4)
all-close.

(Speaker 5)
Now, you know, we’ve interviewed, I mean, the guys who helped co-create Yeezy and the Yeezy shoe brand and the co-founder of Square and the founder of Netflix. And I could go on and on listing off all these wonderful people. And they all have idiosyncrasies that, and I think as an entrepreneur, it can be an isolating thing as a business leader. It can be an isolating thing.

(Speaker 5)
Do you have any idiosyncrasies that you believe that have allowed you to become successful? I mean, it’s kind of not normal for most people, but it’s normal for you that you believe

(Speaker 7)
has allowed you to become super successful?

(Speaker 4)
Yeah, a couple of things. You know, one is I think I relate very well to people. I like working with people. I am very good in building really high-performance teams because I do see that high performance teams can create I mean, a success that as

(Speaker 4)
an individual alone, you would not be able to will not be able to do. I think I can align, I can select the right right people and can align them. Yes, I think I saw this capability already at a very young age, to be honest.

(Speaker 7)
Now, this is my final question I have for you, and then we’ll talk a little bit more about your book. But I have one final question I’m just very interested in. You’re listed on various websites as an advisor, or you were an advisor, for Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

(Speaker 7)
This is, people like him, some people don’t like him, some people like him, some people don’t like him, some people like him. This is one of the most transformative leaders on the planet. This would be the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia. This is a guy who’s really creating some innovative technology out there in Saudi Arabia.

(Speaker 7)
How did you get that gig? Or is that something you’re still doing?

(Speaker 5)
Or tell us about that or what you can tell.

(Speaker 4)
No, no, no, I can’t tell. It’s just what I’m still doing and I enjoy it, you know, and what happens here, a classical example, you know, during my Siemens times, I worked a little bit in Saudi Arabia, you know, but then with Alcoa, we partnered with a company called Martin, a relatively small company at the time, and build out the whole aluminum system. And we built the project ahead of time and on budget, and I think it was a very strong success.

(Speaker 4)
And during that phase, I spent a lot of time also in the Kingdom, and obviously in these type of large projects, not everything goes as planned. And so I needed to reach out to a lot of people also in the kingdom and had very good conversations. And I think if there’s one thing that you see even more so in the Middle East, it’s a culture of trust, you know, and they saw that a

(Speaker 4)
handshake means something to me means a lot to me, actually. And that I had an open mindset. And if there was a better idea, I would be willing to go with a better idea. And that I had an open mindset and if there was a better idea, I would be willing to go with a better idea. And I think they also saw that I’ve been capable of dealing with a lot of technical complexities, you know, and so they reached out at the time when Neom didn’t even have a

(Speaker 4)
name and the Crown Prince had this vision, you know, and we’re looking originally for an advisor, you know, and it turned out that, that there was not really anything there to advise. So, so I became the first CEO of, of Neom, you know.

(Speaker 5)
Can you explain what Neom is for people out there that don’t know about this?

(Speaker 7)
Yeah.

(Speaker 76)
Neom is-

(Speaker 4)
Controversial city project being built? No, no, it’s it’s it’s it’s not a city. I mean, many people and I understand many, many people don’t understand that this has a historic dimension. It’s the it’s a land the size of Massachusetts. And it’s pretty empty. It has about 250 miles of waterfront, you know, about a hundred miles on the Red Sea and 50 miles on the Gulf of Aqaba. It has mountains that during three months of the year have snow on it, you know, and it’s right on the corner to Egypt on the one side, as well as to Jordan on the other. And the idea is, the vision of the conference is

(Speaker 4)
to create a world that’s kind of allows people to work in, I would call it post, like in the post-industrial world. I mean, I think the idea is that we are currently going through a phase where, which is between these type of structures and as we went from agrarian to industrial age, you know, we’re

(Speaker 4)
currently going into another age. We don’t quite know how exactly it is, but it affects the way we live. And a very strong aspect of the Crown Prince is he’s very strong on ecologic aspects. So the structure of the project has been as such that it will all be powered with CO2-free energy. And the way the population growth will be about more than 80% of the land will be protected, will be untouched.

(Speaker 4)
So that’s the idea. It’s fascinating. And making use of all new technologies is very, very fascinating. So it’s not one city. I think currently they are building 10 or so at the same time, you know, so this is gigantic.

(Speaker 4)
This is a gigantic project.

(Speaker 7)
Wow. Now your book, for anybody out there that might’ve blacked out, you were overwhelmed by the profundity of what you just said. I want to get people refocused. That was a lot.

(Speaker 7)
The book here is called leading to thrive mastering strategies for sustainable success in business and life. Again, that book title is leading to thrive mastering strategies for sustainable success in business and life. Everybody check it out there, amazon.com leading to thrive mastering strength, mastering strategies for sustainable success in business and life written by Klaus Kleinfeld. Klaus, oftentimes when I’m interviewed on shows, I get off the show and I think Klaus, oftentimes when I’m interviewed on shows, I get off the show and I think,

(Speaker 7)
oh, I wish the host would have asked me this, or I wish the host would have asked me that. My question I’d have for you, is there anything on your heart that you wanna share on today’s show with our audience before we let you get back to doing what you do?

(Speaker 4)
Yeah, I think, you know, and write a book about this? And frankly, the reason for this was because I felt that in today’s world, a lot of people think that they have no choice and that they just get pushed and that work requires them for success to push themselves and in the end hit a wall. And I felt that they are lacking a framework and a framework that works for business success

(Speaker 4)
as well as life success. Very often people distinguish between, how do I do business? How do I do life? And they don’t realize that in the end, they are one person and they only have one life

(Speaker 4)
on this planet. And I have a long chapter in the book about purpose, including also a review from a fantastic book about what are the highest regrets of people who are dying. And I think those types of things where you say

(Speaker 4)
there’s nobody who says I wish I would have worked more. Most of those are things like, hey, I wish I had spent more time with the things that I really love. I wish I had been the person that I always wanted to be. And the good news is we are still all alive. We can do that. And I very strongly believe with the framework that I see is a framework that allows you to be really successful, happy in business and in life, and have a long, sustained period of that.

(Speaker 4)
And I wanted to make sure that that exists and that people could take a look at it, take a look at it and say, okay, there’s an alternative pathway. And also I purposely started with what I call the inner game first in the book and then go to the outer game

(Speaker 4)
because most of the conversations that we have about leadership are about the outer game. How do you build a high performance team? You know, how are you as a leader? You know, what tools are there to do a vision, how do you strategize, blah, blah. That’s all in the book. That’s all in the outer game part.

(Speaker 4)
And I’m obviously convinced that that’s worth reading. But the thing that I really want people to understand is the first part, your self, about yourself, you know, because to make sure that you have capabilities, you know, that like a top tennis player, like a Navy SEAL, you know, all of these folks, you know, that like a top tennis player, like a Navy SEAL, you know, all of these folks, you know, do the same things, you know,

(Speaker 4)
and those things are even more important as a business leader because Navy SEALs have one mission, tennis players have one game, one tournament, and then they can relax, you know, as a business leader, you’re 25 hours a day, eight days a week, I say, in our today’s world. You know, so I want to make sure that this framework is there

(Speaker 4)
and then you can decide what you can take out of it. And it’s not difficult.

(Speaker 7)
Klaus, I really do appreciate you. And I also like your glasses and I like your tie. Thank you so much, brother. I really do appreciate your time. And we’ll talk to you soon.

(Speaker 75)
Okay, very good.

(Speaker 13)
See you then. Take care, bye bye. Bye bye. I learned at the Academy, King’s Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say.

(Speaker 74)
Whoa.

(Speaker 73)
Good morning, good morning, good morning.

(Speaker 13)
Herbert Kiyosaki, The Rich Dad Radio Show. Today I’m broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona, not Scottsdale, Arizona. They’re closed, but they’re completely different worlds. And we have a special guest today. Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me,

(Speaker 13)
you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent. I’ve done this show before also, but very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts. And so Mr. Clay Clark is a

(Speaker 13)
friend of a good friend Eric Eric Trump but we’re also talking about money bricks and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hour so Clay Clark is a very intelligent man and there’s so many ways we could take this thing but I thought since you and Eric are close, Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t, what Donald, who’s my age, and I can say or cannot say?

(Speaker 7)
Well, I have to, first of all, I have to honor you, sir. I want to show you what I did to one of your books here. There’s a guy named Jeremy Thorne, who was my boss at the time. I was 19 years old, working at Faith Highway, I had a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV, and he said, have you read this book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad?

(Speaker 7)
And I said, no. And my father, may he rest in peace, he didn’t know these financial principles. So I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books, and I went from being an employee to self-employed, to the business owner, to the investor. And I owe a lot of that to you.

(Speaker 7)
And I just wanted to take a moment to tell you, thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success. And I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump. I just want to tell you, thank you, sir, for changing my life.

(Speaker 13)
Well, not only that, Clay, you know, thank you, but you’ve become an influencer. You know, more than anything else, you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power. So that’s why I congratulate you on becoming. Because as you know, there’s a lot of fake influencers out there too, or bad influencers.

(Speaker 72)
Yeah.

(Speaker 13)
Anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much and thanks for reading my books. Yeah. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say I

(Speaker 13)
read your book changed my life I’m doing this I’m doing this I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy at Kings Point in New York, octa non verba. Watch what a

(Speaker 2)
person does not what they say. Hey I’m Ryan Wimpy I’m originally from Tulsa born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business, and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using, and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school.

(Speaker 2)
And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us in getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. Like we have workflows that are kind of all over the place.

(Speaker 2)
So having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super, it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be.

(Speaker 2)
Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side.

(Speaker 5)
Once I saw what they were doing I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30

(Speaker 17)
years of business. You’re not bored, you’re awake, alive the whole time. It’s not pushy, they don’t try to sell you a bunch of things.

(Speaker 62)
I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of business.

(Speaker 10)
Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program.

(Speaker 66)
It’s really lively, they’re pretty friendly, helpful, very welcoming.

(Speaker 46)
I attended a conference a couple months back and it was really the best business conference

(Speaker 71)
I’ve ever attended.

(Speaker 1)
At the workshop I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the

(Speaker 70)
most important.

(Speaker 9)
The biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business. Whether it’s marketing, you know, what are those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources.

(Speaker 5)
Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay, and I found that to be kind of fascinating.

(Speaker 35)
The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort, and you’ve got to go through the ups and downs of getting it

(Speaker 63)
to where you want to go.

(Speaker 40)
He actually gives you the roadmap out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do, and he gave me the roadmap out step by step.

(Speaker 69)
We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time

(Speaker 68)
freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it will be answered.

(Speaker 3)
This conference motivates me and also gives me a lot of knowledge and tools.

(Speaker 17)
It’s up to you to do this. Everybody can do these things, They’re stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else is gonna do it for you.

(Speaker 36)
I can see the marketing working.

(Speaker 9)
It’s just an approach that makes sense.

(Speaker 67)
Probably the most notable thing is just

(Speaker 5)
the income increase that we’ve had.

(Speaker 39)
Everyone’s super fun, super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me.

(Speaker 38)
Your competition’s gonna come eventually, or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will.

(Speaker 31)
I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we just wanna give a huge thank you

(Speaker 17)
to Clay and Vanessa Clark.

(Speaker 2)
Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just wanna say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys, we appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. This is where we used to live a few years ago. This is our old neighborhood.

(Speaker 7)
See? It’s nice, right?

(Speaker 2)
So this is my old van and our old school marketing and this is our old team. And by team, I mean it’s me and another guy.

(Speaker 51)
This is our new house with our new neighborhood.

(Speaker 31)
This is our new van with our new marketing. And this is our new team. We went from four to 14. And I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past. And they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is

(Speaker 31)
awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts, and actually build a team. So now that we

(Speaker 17)
have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year.

(Speaker 2)
In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month, and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you,

(Speaker 2)
thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand.

(Speaker 3)
So we really just want to thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve

(Speaker 31)
done, everything you’ve helped us with.

(Speaker 49)
We love you guys.

(Speaker 28)
If you decide to not attend the Thrive Time Workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity.

(Speaker 66)
The Atmosphere Plays office is very lively.

(Speaker 18)
You can feel the energy as soon as you walk through the door, and it really got me and

(Speaker 35)
my team very excited. If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business,

(Speaker 65)
bottom line.

(Speaker 35)
Love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way

(Speaker 37)
to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing, I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college.

(Speaker 8)
The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key, marketing is

(Speaker 35)
everything.

(Speaker 3)
Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly.

(Speaker 64)
How to grow our business using Google reviews and then just how to optimize our name through our website also.

(Speaker 1)
Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google.

(Speaker 28)
The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how

(Speaker 63)
to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become

(Speaker 8)
more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. New ways of

(Speaker 9)
advertising my business as well as recruiting new employees.

(Speaker 32)
Group interviews, number one. Before we felt like we were held hostage by our employees.

(Speaker 54)
Group interviews has completely eliminated that because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit.

(Speaker 3)
Hands-on how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing and overall just how to structure the business, how it works for me and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients.

(Speaker 62)
The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management.

(Speaker 8)
I like the one hour of doing your business is real critical if I’m going to grow and

(Speaker 46)
change.

(Speaker 61)
Play really teaches you how to navigate through those things and not only find freedom but find your purpose in your business and find the purposes for all those other people that

(Speaker 5)
directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone needs

(Speaker 8)
to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real.

(Speaker 24)
Hey, Flyover family, come join us June the 27th and 28th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We’re going to be there with Clay Clark, an amazing group of individuals that have made such a difference in so many people’s lives.

(Speaker 32)
Do you want to increase your production in a job? Do you want to make more sales? Do you want to own your own business? Do you want to have breakthroughs financially? The key to that is knowledge.

(Speaker 17)
Clay Clark is anointed to help people in business. We’ve watched him over the last couple of years and we’ve been blown away. He’s part owner of over 160 businesses, $2.4 billion

(Speaker 24)
in sales.

(Speaker 32)
Before politics and the great reset came into Clay’s life, he had the number one rated Apple podcast and he interviewed people like Anthony Robbins, Seth Godin, the top authors, the top business minds in the world. At this specific event, there was an interesting cast of characters that come from gangs to American Idol.

(Speaker 24)
Some of the guests that are going to be there, Michael Levine, Colton Dixon, Peter Taunton, John Lee Dumas, Mondando De La Viga.

(Speaker 28)
And Tim Tebow. They’re there to share what they’ve done and their breakthroughs and what their story is. And then Clay lays his map of business success, calls the path for every

(Speaker 32)
person to follow.

(Speaker 24)
So you may be sitting there thinking, okay, okay, I get it, I get it, what do I have to do? Go to thrivetimeshow.com. When you get there, the tickets are $250 or whatever you can afford. Yes, you got that right. $250 or whatever you can afford. You can name your price. So there are no excuses.

(Speaker 24)
You have to join us there. There are only a few VIP tickets left, like David said. Special dinner and special time with the speakers. That is $500 why they last. So $500, only a few left if you want a VIP ticket. We want to meet these speakers as well, so we got VIP tickets.

(Speaker 32)
I want to meet Tim Tebow.

(Speaker 60)
I do, too.

(Speaker 24)
The date is June the 27th and 28th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Go to Thrivetimeshow.com to get your ticket.

(Speaker 18)
Hey, guys, Luke Erickson here with the Thrivetimeshow. As you can see behind me, we’ve got all kinds of energy going on. People are starting to show up for the conference. And it is hot in this place. We’ve got grill guns over here, we’ve got people playing the drums, we’ve got a fire breather and man, people are so excited as they come in.

(Speaker 18)
The conference has kicked off, this house is packed. We’ve got Eric Andrus with Shotguns up there. We’ve got Steve Burrington with Total Ending Concepts up there. Talking about what is possible when you just implement, when you implement, when you do that,

(Speaker 59)
it’s just so exciting. People are going crazy.

(Speaker 18)
Now Michael Levine, writer of many, many PR books. The man who represented people like Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, George Bush, is standing by me speaking to the people here at our conference talking about branding. One of the greatest branding experts alive today is here at our conference talking to entrepreneurs.

(Speaker 58)
We just wrapped up day one. It was incredible. We had some remarkable speakers. talking to entrepreneurs.

(Speaker 18)
We just wrapped up day one, it was incredible. We had some remarkable speakers, Michael Levine. We just finished with a lady named Jill Donovan who owns a company called Rustic Cuff, talking about the power of the Dream 100. I cannot wait to see what tomorrow holds. Come on in! Welcome to the Thrive Time Show, make some noise for Luke!

(Speaker 34)
Luke, that’s right, you’re special, come on in!

(Speaker 18)
Hey guys, Luke Erickson with the Thrive Time Show here with you. It is day two, and the energy is high. People are so excited to be showing up, the team is ready. Come on, let’s see what it’s

(Speaker 18)
like to go on in for day two. Follow me!

(Speaker 34)
Woo! Woo! The team is ready. Come on, let’s see what it’s like to go on in for day two. Follow me. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.

(Speaker 18)
I’ll tell you what, people are so excited to be here for day two. It is going to be incredible. Right now, here at the conference, we’ve broken into groups going over search engine optimization. I know for most of us, myself included, if you hear that term, you go, what is that? What does that mean? That’s too techy for me.

(Speaker 18)
Well, our experts are breaking it down for people so that you can clearly understand how to come up top in Google.

(Speaker 57)
It’s doable.

(Speaker 18)
It’s doable, it’s possible. Now we’re in the middle of a break and what we like to do is we like to give you as much tangible and relevant information from about the start of the hour for 45 minutes. Then we take approximately a 15 minute break to allow people to connect with other entrepreneurs around them, bathroom break, and also use this time to just really digest all of the good information that you’re receiving the whole time. Right behind me we’ve got Bob with his grill gun melting an ice sculpture. It is

(Speaker 18)
awesome. The ice sculpture represents our life, right? It’s here for a time but we all need to have the sense of urgency to implement the things that we’re learning so that we can make the most of the time that we have. We are outside, you can see a line behind me. What’s going on is that we partner with different companies to help them implement the proven systems over and over and over again.

(Speaker 18)
And one of those companies is Master Machine. And so what we like to do is partner with these companies to also help them give samples to other people as they come to the conference and truly get their name out. And I just wanted to recap some of the amazing things

(Speaker 18)
that have happened today. We’ve had entrepreneurs like Paul Hood with Hood CPAs. We’ve had Jill Donovan and Michael Levine come up and just impart so much wisdom and knowledge. We’ve got an incredible giveaway for one of our TV’s.

(Speaker 18)
Hey there Thrive Nation. One of the things that we love most about our business conferences is that we want every entrepreneur to leave with their questions answered. So what we do is we let them put the questions up on the board here so that they can ask their specific questions and Clay will not end the conference until every question is answered. Behind us Clay Kilar is answering all the different questions that entrepreneurs have brought to the conference.

(Speaker 18)
Whenever someone comes here and starts to hear this information, especially for the first time, it just brings about so much anticipation of wanting to actually implement the proven systems and processes. And so Clay always wants to make sure that he answers all of their questions so that they are the most set up for success to be able to go home and start implementing. If you have any questions, email us at info at ThriveTimeShare.com.

(Speaker 14)
Hello, I’m Wes Carter. I’m one of the shareholders at Winters & King. My favorite thing that Thrive has helped me accomplish here in our firm is thinking a little bit outside of the box. They do SEO, they do printing, they help us with a lot of things from the day-to-day marketing for the firm, but they also help us think of things that as attorneys we probably wouldn’t normally think of that help us market our services to our clients. One of the things I love about working with Thrive is that they make it enjoyable to actually do work with

(Speaker 14)
them. It’s not dry, it’s usually fun, but it’s always very enjoyable and practical. They give me things and ideas that I can put into place. It’s not just some theoretical spiel that they give me. We get practical steps that we work on together to do my job better.

(Speaker 14)
So me personally, I would easily recommend Thrive 15 services to my friends, my families. I recommend them to my clients. I think they do a good job. They’re passionate. They care about their clients.

(Speaker 14)
And I think it’s actually a valuable service they provide to people that are in the business world.

(Speaker 12)
My name is Jeff Thomas. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia. It’s all about getting to the grindstone. It is about putting the… It’s one thing to have a specific vision or a dream, but knowledge without application isn’t knowledge at all. So that’s nothing.

(Speaker 12)
It’s really funny, the atmosphere is very lively. Everybody that is working for Clay is very upbeat and not tired, not sluggish, not complaining, not whining. They don’t have anything to do with those types of characteristics. It’s all about getting to the grind and having fun while you do it. I haven’t actually been to any conferences in the past, but what I will say from what

(Speaker 12)
I’ve seen on YouTube and what from other friends have told me is this isn’t like a motivational kind of thing to just you know, hoo hoo rah rah, get you motivated, but it’s like practical steps that if you do take them, which most people aren’t willing to do, then you will grow and you will achieve the specific things that you want. Well, for one thing, I would say that this isn’t necessarily for everyone. So if you’re not willing to work, this isn’t for you.

(Speaker 12)
But I will say that if you are willing to work and you know you’re just getting started, but you have actually taken a step in that direction, then this will actually help you

(Speaker 6)
grow further exponentially than you could ever imagine.

(Speaker 8)
My name is Taylor Hall. I’m the general manager of the Tulsa Oilers professional hockey team. You know, our goal every night here at the BOK Center is to try to fill the seats with lots of people and create an exciting environment

(Speaker 8)
so when somebody comes to a game they want to come back. Working with Clay and the staff at Thrive, they’ve really helped us in many many ways. Website and graphic design and video production a lot of things go along and a lot of businesses including ours doesn’t have a staff or a full-time you know videographer or graphic designer but the biggest thing that we noticed was the needle mover. More sales, more attendance, more successes in business. We had a

(Speaker 8)
record year last season working with Clay for the first time. Our average attendance is higher than it’s ever been. So there was a lot of really cool things that we did and they worked. That’s the nice thing about working with Clay and the team over there.

(Speaker 8)
It’s just not one person, you get the entire team. If you need video design and editing and production, they’ve got that. If you need graphic design, if you need some coaching, your salespeople and call scripts, PR, they

(Speaker 8)
offer all that. Clay was instrumental in helping guiding us and getting us on the right track so that we could really raise the bar and become ultra successful. So it’s been an amazing experience for us.

(Speaker 23)
My name is Kaitlin. I own a tumbling gym called Justice Tumbling Company, it’s what we call them. Working with Clay is so helpful. It’s being diligent with everything and making sure we execute our goals and just really make things happen.

(Speaker 23)
It’s fun, it’s high, it really gets you energized and going. It just makes you really want to work. To get the momentum going, to really just just get that buzz, to really give you the energy to get up and make it happen.

(Speaker 28)
I’m Bob Healy. I’m in the charcoal grilling industry. And the name of my business is Grillblazer. How will I apply what I’ve learned so far into my business? I’m actually a client of Tri15 and I learn so much from what I’m learning at this conference and from my regular weekly attendance that it’s helping me establish the business and get it off the ground.

(Speaker 28)
Clay’s presentation style is just Clayton disregard for what anybody wants. He just has fun, it’s him, everything that you see is authentically Clay. It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be.

(Speaker 56)
It’s a great place to be.

(Speaker 28)
It’s a great place to be. It’s a great place to be. don’t go to a carnival atmosphere and learn like we do here at the Thrive Conference. It’s great.

(Speaker 1)
The reason people should attend at least one of these conferences is because it’s common

(Speaker 47)
sense.

(Speaker 1)
And everybody’s fed an entire line about the way you should run a business, but until you actually experience running a business, which is, candidly, what you learn here, how to

(Speaker 8)
run a business, you don’t know what you’re doing. My name is Tyler Hastings, and this is my wife, Rachel. And our company is Delricht Research out of New Orleans. During our time working with Thrive, we’ve had numerous successes. When we first started, we were working with one physician. We had one research site.

(Speaker 8)
And we were seeing, on average, between 10 and 15 patients a week. Since working with Thrive in the last 18 months we now have four research sites. We work with over five physicians and on average we’re now seeing over 60 patients per week. Recently we’ve been the top enroller worldwide in seven studies which is just incredible

(Speaker 16)
considering where we were you know two years ago, 18 months ago.

(Speaker 30)
Thrive really differs from the other conferences that we’ve been to and the other kind of programs that we’ve been through because they actually really practice what they preach and they implement the same systems and the processes that they teach you about and they give you real life examples that really work for them and show you with the training how to implement that yourself. For example, Tyler and I actually got the opportunity to come out to Tulsa and we’re fortunate enough that the Thrive team took us out to some of the businesses that they own and we really got to see in real life, real-time, some

(Speaker 30)
of the systems and processes and it was just incredible. A real life example of some of the businesses and the things that they’re implementing.

(Speaker 16)
Having a coach is important to us. They act as not only an accountability factor, but they’re someone we can talk to on a daily basis as we go through the problems of running a business that inevitably come up. They always understand what we’re going through

(Speaker 16)
and they’re always there to help us or guide us through the problems that we experience. The best part of our experience working with Thrive has just been seeing our relationship grow. So at each step as our business grows, they have something else to provide us with. They’ve got the resources, whether it be marketing, graphic design, website development, or even in accounting practices, maybe we need a new insurance policy. If they have someone they can connect us with or you know they have

(Speaker 16)
the direct resource we need to speak with for any of the problems we face. If someone’s thinking about signing up for the coaching program, I would highly recommend that they call in for a free 30-minute coaching session and see exactly what the team can do for you. Just speak with someone, let them know what you’re going through, and I think you’ll find

(Speaker 16)
that regardless of what you need, there’s someone there that can help you.

(Speaker 22)
Clay’s presentation style is very real and raw. Like, it just gets real down to the bone of it and the real purpose of it. There’s no, like, fluffy vagueness about it, you know? So, he really gets to the point. I’m always reminded about how important it is to be intentional and to really pay attention to how you schedule your time and really honor it.

(Speaker 22)
Because whatever gets scheduled gets done. That’s what he said from Lee Cockrell. Just constantly hearing that and getting reminded helps me to reinforce that in my own life. It always helps to get an outside perspective, and especially from a guy that’s grown so many multi-billion dollar businesses.

(Speaker 11)
Doesn’t hurt, so. My name is Nick Guajardo. I heard about the Thrive Time Show Workshop through Andy Mathren. He’s my, Andy Mathren and Larry Montgomery, they’re my bosses at Restore Home Health.

(Speaker 11)
So, I work with a home health company called Restore Home Health. And my role is pretty much to bring in business. So, I was hoping to learn kind of the sales process on top of just kind of the responsibilities and help understand what it looks like on the S-E-O side of just kind of the responsibilities and help understand what it looks like on the SEO side and just kind of an all-around what it looks

(Speaker 11)
like to own a business because that’s something I want to do in the future for sure. How I would describe the atmosphere here at Thrive is high energy, great professionalism, great people. It’s just a place you definitely want to visit and be at. Plays delivery style, humorous, professional, hilarious. I haven’t seen someone do it better. So he does a great job.

(Speaker 11)
Most valuable thing I’ve learned so far? A lot of it has been extremely valuable. But one thing that’s always really stuck out to me is the SEO, learning the SEO stuff. I mean, that is, I think, things you don’t really even think about and then you hear it and you think you know it, but you don’t know it. So I feel like that was the most valuable.

(Speaker 11)
Well, they’re missing out on just coming down to just basic applications to be a business owner. I mean, I feel like it’s like an absolute necessity to come here and learn the ins and outs and maybe come here once or twice if they take good notes, that kind of thing.

(Speaker 55)
Why?

(Speaker 11)
To just, it’s the experience here and what you can learn, like absolutely.

(Speaker 3)
So marketing and SEO seemed like something that would be very scary, but then in the way that Clay and his team described it, it became very clear and concise and something that’s very accessible to any business owner. I’ve learned a lot about marketing at this conference and a lot about business management and HR, really everything, the key components of anybody’s business they’re going to give you the best tools to be successful in it. So most workshops or conferences can be really boring

(Speaker 3)
really one note or they just seem so theatrical that it’s a joke and it’s not even giving you the tools that you need or that you came there for. But here it’s still high energy it’s still fun everything’s to the point, but it’s very professional, and yeah, you’re missing out on easy steps to use in your business that are very accessible

(Speaker 36)
and very clear.

(Speaker 15)
My name is Abigail McCarter. The best thing I’ve learned so far is definitely organization, schedule schedule wise, always keeping a to-do list, keeping your calendar organized. I’m kind of all over the place, so that’s always good to know. So Clay’s presentation style and the atmosphere is electric.

(Speaker 15)
It’s so energetic, it’s so fun. Clay’s hilarious, but also knows a ton. So it’s just really great all around. This conference is much different than any other conference I’ve gone to. Again, because it’s fun.

(Speaker 15)
Like a lot of other conferences, it’s like really quiet, really cold, and you just kind of get bored. But this one, you’re like always engaged, you’re always learning something, and the staff is amazing.

(Speaker 15)
They’re always super helpful, so it’s just been really great.

(Speaker 34)
My name is Clay Howard.

(Speaker 54)
We’re a personal training and fitness training facility.

(Speaker 32)
Oh wow, I’m learning a ton.

(Speaker 20)
Like this morning so far has been search engine optimization, so really just the importance of being at the top of Google, how Google works and why it’s so important to go out and get video reviews and testimonials and getting Google reviews. I’m learning a ton. being at the top of Google, how Google works, and why it’s so important to go out and get video reviews and testimonials and getting Google reviews. And so all those things, we can take back and really apply

(Speaker 20)
that immediately. So it’s really cool to see not only how to do it, but really the relevance and importance of it as a long-term strategy of your business. Now, it’s amazing, actually, on the way in this morning and yesterday, I was videoing as I was walking in

(Speaker 20)
the front entrance, and actually me, I go to a lot of seminars, I go to a lot of conferences, masterminds, I’ve been doing that since I was like 22 years old, so gosh, almost 20 years now, and this is by far the most entertaining, not only the content, the content is amazing, but Clay and you guys do a great job

(Speaker 20)
of mixing in entertainment, entertainment where it’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s lively, you never get bored. And I heard a study one time that the reason that children learn so much quicker is because it’s fun, learning is fun. So obviously Clay is still that, where it’s very fun to be here and keeps you awake, keeps you energized. I’m having a blast. Yeah, I think any business owner or someone that wants to own a business or considering owning and starting a business should definitely come. I know, I can just say and have fun and network. There’s a lot of people here you can learn from and there’s a lot of breaks you can talk to other people. So I think this is a must-attend

(Speaker 27)
for anybody that owns the business and wants to start a business. My name is Jamie Fagel. I’m with Jameson Fine Cabinetry. I heard about the conference through Andrew. He’s the coach that I deal with here at The Thrive. The most valuable piece I found even working with Andrew, but it’s been solidified when it came here, was you got to actually do the things that they’re telling you. With no action, you’re not going to get anything from it. I would highly recommend this to almost anybody in business today. I have recommended to some of my other business partners.

(Speaker 27)
It’s phenomenal. It’s really something that if you want to start a business, the old way of doing things is gone. This is what you got to do. It’s the only way it’ll work.

(Speaker 4)
Hey, this is Charles and Amber Kola.

(Speaker 1)
We’re the owners of Kola Fitness.

(Speaker 26)
The way we’re able to do that is working with Clay for the last three years, he has really readjusted our thinking and taught us that our business is here to serve us. And by doing that, we’re able to live the lifestyle we want and take off on a random vacation last minute.

(Speaker 26)
So we had totally planned on being at the conference. So wish we could be there and meet all of you. We know you’re having a great time.

(Speaker 53)
So.

(Speaker 1)
Yes, Clay in the last three years has helped us build all the necessary systems, checklists, workflows, task lists, time blocks, audits that are always running and the right capable lieutenants to keep track of all that so that you too can get time freedom, financial freedom. And that’s what we have done and Clay has helped us do.

(Speaker 1)
We’ve got multiple companies in multiple states and they’re all doing very well getting ready to go to more locations in this next year and Co-op Fitness has a really big future. We’re teaming up with a couple other groups and we should scale the company here shortly. Hopefully we’ll open like 50 locations in the next 10 years. So but yeah we’re on the way. We’re gonna probably more than double our company, maybe triple our company in the next

(Speaker 1)
eight to nine months and it’s just awesome. God is working in our business and we’re making Jesus and changing lives. We’re a strong Christian company that focuses on making Jesus famous and changing lives in the fitness field. And this is Charles and Hammer Cola. Thank you thrive. Hit your action items. We love you guys. We wish we were there.

(Speaker 53)
You guys have a wonderful day. Bye bye.

(Speaker 19)
My name is Jennifer Johnson. I’m in the pest control industry and also weed control fertilization and my business is Platinum Pest and Lawn. Some of the things that… I’ll be able to apply a lot of the things that I’ve learned in our business because this is not my first conference and so a lot of the things that we learned we’ve put into place and now we’re doing the next level of refining the processes or just the different concepts

(Speaker 19)
and so it’s getting better and better. Things that were just big processes before, we have the foundation laid and now we’re able to make it better and better. I’m hearing different things now that we’ve implemented things and so we can just make it even better, implementing it in our own business. Clay’s presentation and the atmosphere

(Speaker 19)
is very exciting and fun.

(Speaker 3)
It keeps you awake.

(Speaker 19)
It makes it interesting. You have a lot of information, but if it’s not gonna be entertaining, your brain is gonna tune it out. But Clay makes it just entertaining enough that you retain what you learn.

(Speaker 19)
Lots of rhyming and catchy things so that you remember stuff. What makes you do it? Something that makes this conference different than other workshops or conferences that I’ve been to is that there’s a lot of people here in my same situation.

(Speaker 19)
We’re all, most of us are pretty small businesses wanting to improve, and we want-life information and something that will work and that’s attainable and not just some crazy magic formula but actual action items that we can implement in our business and actually see a difference. Everyone should attend a DriveType business conference whether you’re a business owner or not. A, if you’re a business owner,

(Speaker 19)
it has practical applications that you can apply to so many different parts of your business. And then you need to come back for more so that you can keep doing more of the wonderful things that you learn. But secondly, I am also a mom of three kids and a lot of the concepts can actually be applied to home, like getting routines and getting setting systems at home has just seriously made a huge difference in my life at home. So I’ve been able to improve our business, but I’ve also been able to improve things at home.

(Speaker 19)
And so that’s why everyone should come, no matter what your station is in life.

(Speaker 29)
My name is Nolan Kew. I’m originally from San Francisco, California. The industry that I’m in is financial services. I’ve learned a ton so far, but what I can best apply from this conference is the opportunity, that hunger to go out there and make a big difference in my industry. Blaise’s presentation style is amazing. He’s got an endless amount of energy.

(Speaker 20)
It’s contagious.

(Speaker 29)
And yeah, by being here, I really do want to go back and be able to face all the adversity that the industry has. Yeah, this conference, the thing that makes it different is that it’s special because it has a unique set of individuals that all share that same energy. I think he picked it as dragon energy, but yeah, that’s the case. Everyone should come to multiple multiple but their first would be

(Speaker 29)
very special yeah you’re welcome with a lot of enthusiasm that’s a that’ll last for a long time.

(Speaker 17)
My name is Gabriella Cruz. Our business is ACS Electric. My husband’s the owner but I’m involved with that. So we’re an electric company. Well here at the conference they talk a lot about consistency, and so just staying consistent with different things in the business, and I feel like applying that to our business model

(Speaker 17)
will really help us grow. The atmosphere is very positive, uplifting, and then it’s very fun and energetic, and so it gets you pumped and it gets you excited, and it encourages you to do big things. Probably how real they are.

(Speaker 17)
They tell you up front what you need to do and what’s like a no-go, and so conferences are, they kind of sugarcoat things, so I like how real they are here. I think it’ll definitely, if you want your business to grow, I think this would be a great experience, and then not only that, it’ll encourage you and inform you on so many things you don’t think about

(Speaker 30)
on a daily basis.

(Speaker 2)
Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey, I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I’ve definitely learned a lot about life design and making sure the business serves you. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us in getting everything out on paper and documented is really important.

(Speaker 2)
We have workflows that are kind of all over the place, so having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super… it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty

(Speaker 2)
cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Play is hilarious. I literally laughed so hard that I started having tears yesterday. And we’ve been learning a lot, which we’ve been sitting here,

(Speaker 2)
we’ve been learning a lot. So the humor definitely helps. It breaks it up. But the content is awesome, off the charts. And it’s very interactive. You can raise your hand.

(Speaker 2)
It’s not like you’re just listening to the professor speak, you know. The wizard teaches, but the wizard interacts and he takes questions, so that’s awesome. If you’re not attending the conference, you’re missing about three quarters to half of your life. You’re definitely, it’s probably worth a couple thousand dollars. So you’re missing the thought process of someone that’s already started

(Speaker 2)
like nine profitable businesses. So not only is it a lot of good information, but just getting in the thought process of Clay Clark or Dr. Zellner or any of the other coaches, getting in their thought process of how they’re starting all these businesses,

(Speaker 2)
to me, just that is priceless. That’s money. Well, we’re definitely not getting upsold here. My wife and I have attended conferences where it was great information and then they upsold us like half the conference

(Speaker 2)
and I don’t wanna like bang my head into a wall. And she’s like banging her head into the chair in front of her. Like, it’s good information, but we’re like, oh my gosh, I wanna strangle you, shut up, and go with the presentation that we paid for, and that’s not here.

(Speaker 2)
There’s no upsells or anything, so that’s awesome. I hate that.

(Speaker 52)
Oh, that makes me angry.

(Speaker 2)
So, glad that’s not happening. So the cost of this conference is quite a bit cheaper than business college. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what

(Speaker 2)
they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school and I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. I would definitely recommend that people would check out the Thrive 15 conference. It’s the information that you’re gonna get is just very very beneficial and the mindset that you’re gonna get that you’re gonna leave with is just absolutely worth the price of a little

(Speaker 31)
bit of money and a few days worth of your time. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we

(Speaker 2)
just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys I’m Ryan with Tip Top Canine. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys. We appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. is our old neighborhood. I don’t know if you can see. It’s nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team I mean it’s me and another guy.

(Speaker 51)
This is our new house with our new neighborhood.

(Speaker 17)
This is our new van with our new marketing and this is our new team. We went from four to 14 and I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman. So we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into

(Speaker 17)
systems, into manuals and scripts and actually build a team.

(Speaker 3)
So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only

(Speaker 50)
a year.

(Speaker 2)
In October, 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Uh, right now it’s 2018, the month of October.

(Speaker 31)
Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just want to thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with.

(Speaker 49)
We love you guys.

(Speaker 1)
Hello, my name is Charles Colaw with Colaw Fitness. Today I want to tell you a little bit about Clay Clark and how I know Clay Clark. Clay Clark has been my business coach since 2017. He’s helped us grow from two locations locations to now six locations. We’re planning to do seven locations in seven years and then franchise. And Clay has done a great job of helping us navigate anything that has to do with like running the business, building the

(Speaker 1)
systems, the checklists, the workflows, the audits, how to navigate lease agreements, how to buy property, how to work with brokers and builders. This guy is just amazing. This kind of guy has worked in every single industry. He’s written books with like Lee Crockerill, head of Disney with the 40,000 cast members. He’s friends with like Mike Lindell.

(Speaker 1)
He does Reawaken America tours where he does these tours all across the country where 10,000 or more people show up to some of these tours. On the day-to-day, he does anywhere from about 160 companies. He’s at the top.

(Speaker 1)
He has a team of business coaches, videographers, and graphic designers and web developers, and they run 160 companies every single week. So think of this guy with a team of business coaches running 160 companies. So in the weekly, he’s running 160 companies.

(Speaker 1)
Every six to eight weeks, he’s doing Reawaken America tours. Every six to eight weeks, he’s doing Reawaken America tours. Every six to eight weeks, he’s also doing business conferences where 200 people show up and he teaches people a 13 step proven system

(Speaker 1)
that he’s done and worked with billionaires, helping them grow their companies. So I’ve seen guys from startups, go from startup to being multimillionaires, teaching people how to get time freedom and financial freedom through the system.

(Speaker 1)
Critical thinking, document creation, making it, putting it into, organizing everything in their head to building it into a franchisable, scalable business. Like one of his businesses has like 500 franchises. That’s just one of the companies or brands

(Speaker 1)
that he works with. So amazing guy, Elon Musk, kind of like smart guy. He kind of comes off sometimes as socially awkward, but he’s so brilliant and he’s taught me so much. When I say that, Clay is like, he doesn’t care what people think

(Speaker 1)
when you’re talking to him. He cares about where you’re going in your life and where he can get you to go. And that’s what I like him most about him. He’s like a good coach. A coach isn’t just making you feel good all the time. A coach is actually helping you get to the best you and Clay has been an amazing business coach. Through the course of that we became friends. I was

(Speaker 1)
really most impressed with him is when I was shadowing him one time. We went into a business deal and listened to it. I got to shadow and listen to it and when we walked out I knew that he could make millions on the deal and they were super excited about working with him. And he told me, he’s like, I’m not gonna touch it, I’m gonna turn it down, because he knew it was gonna harm the common good of people in the long run.

(Speaker 1)
And the guy’s integrity just really wowed me. It brought tears to my eyes to see that this guy, he doesn’t, his highest desire was to do what’s right. And anyways, just an amazing man. So anyways, impacted me a lot. He’s helped navigate.

(Speaker 1)
Anytime I’ve gotten nervous or worried about how to run the company or navigating competition and an economy that’s like, I remember we got closed down for three months. He helped us navigate on how to stay open, how to get back open,

(Speaker 1)
how to just survive through all the COVID shutdowns, lockdowns, because our clubs were all closed for three months and you have $350,000 of bills you’ve got to pay and we have no accounts receivable. He helped us navigate that and of course we were conservative enough that we could afford to take that on for a period of time. But he was a great man. I’m very impressed with him. So Clay, thank you for everything you’re doing and I encourage you if you haven’t worked with Clay, work with Clay. He’s going to

(Speaker 1)
help magnify you and there’s nobody I have ever met that has the ability to work as hard as he does. He probably sleeps for maybe six hours a day and literally the rest of time he’s working and he can outwork everybody in the room every single day and he loves it. So anyways, this is Charles Kola with Kola Fitness. Thank you, Clay. And anybody out there that’s wanting to work with Clay, it’s a great, great opportunity

(Speaker 1)
to ever work with him. So you guys have a blessed one. This is Charles Kola. We’ll see you guys.

(Speaker 5)
Bye bye. Bye-bye. Hi, I’m Aaron Antis with Shaw Homes. I first heard about Clay through a mortgage lender here in town who had told me what a great job he had been doing for them. And I actually noticed he was driving a Lamborghini all of a sudden. So I was willing to listen. In my career, I’ve sold a little over $800 million in real estate. So honestly, I thought I kind of knew everything about marketing and homes.

(Speaker 5)
And then I met Clay, and my perception of what I knew and what I could do definitely changed. After doing $800 million in sales over a 15-year career, I really thought I knew what I was doing. I’ve been managing a large team of salespeople for the last 10 years here with Shaw Homes. We’ve been a company that’s been in business for 35 years.

(Speaker 5)
We’ve become one of the largest builders in the Tulsa area, and that was without Clay. So when I came to know Clay, I really thought, man, there’s not much more I need to know, but I’m willing to listen. The interesting thing is our internet leads from our website has actually in a four-month period of time has gone from somewhere around 10 to 15 leads in a month

(Speaker 5)
to 180 internet leads in a month. Just from the few things that he’s shown us how to implement that I honestly probably never would have come up with on my own. So I got a lot of good things to say about the system that Clay put in place with us, and it’s just been an incredible experience. I am very glad that we met and had the opportunity to work

(Speaker 5)
with Clay. So the interaction with the team and with Clay on a weekly basis is honestly very enlightening. One of the things that I love about Clay’s perspective on things is that he doesn’t come from my industry.

(Speaker 48)
He’s not somebody who’s’t come from my industry.

(Speaker 5)
He’s not somebody who’s in the home building industry. I’ve listened to all the experts in my field. Our company has paid for me to go to seminars, international builder shows, all kinds of places where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the experts in my industry. But the thing that I found working with Clay is that he comes from such a broad spectrum of working with so

(Speaker 5)
many different types of businesses that he has a perspective that’s difficult for me to gain because I get so entrenched in what I do, I’m not paying attention to what other leading industry experts are doing. And Clay really brings that perspective for me. It is very valuable time every week when I get that hour with him. From my perspective,

(Speaker 5)
the reason that any business owner who’s thinking about hooking up with Thrive needs to definitely consider it is because the results that we’ve gotten in a very short period of time are honestly monumental. It has really exceeded my wildest expectation of what he might be able to do. I came in skeptical because I’m very pragmatic and as I’ve gone through the process over just a few months, I’ve realized it’s probably one of the best moves we’ve ever made. I think a lot of people probably feel like they don’t need a business or marketing consultant

(Speaker 5)
because they maybe are a little bit prideful and like to think they know everything. I know that’s how I felt coming in. I mean, we’re a big company that’s definitely one of the largest in town. And so we kind of felt like we knew what we were doing. And I think for a lot of people, they let their ego get in the way of listening to somebody that might have a better or different perspective than theirs.

(Speaker 5)
I would just really encourage you, if you’re thinking about working with clay, I mean, the thing is, it’s month to month. Go give it a try and see what happens. I think in the 35-year history of Shaw Homes, this is probably the best thing that’s happened to us. And I know if you give them a shot,

(Speaker 5)
I think you’ll feel the same way. I know for me, the thing I would have missed out on if I didn’t work with Clay is I would have missed out on literally an 1, 1800% increase in our internet leads. Going from 10 a month to a hundred and eighty a month, that would have been a huge financial decision to just decide not to give it a shot. I

(Speaker 5)
would absolutely recommend Clay Clark to anybody who’s thinking about working with somebody in marketing. I would skip over Clay Clark to anybody who’s thinking about working with somebody in marketing. I would skip over anybody else you were thinking about and I would go straight to Clay and his team. I guarantee you’re not going to regret it because we sure haven’t.

(Speaker 10)
My name is Danielle Sprick and I am the founder of D. Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After being a stay at home mom for 12 years and my three kids started school and they were in school full time, I was at a crossroads and trying to decide what what do I want to do. My degree and my background is in education. But after being a mom and staying home and all of that, I just didn’t have a passion for it like I once did.

(Speaker 10)
My husband suggested real estate. He’s a home builder, so real estate and home building go hand in hand, and we just rolled with it. I love people, I love working with people, I love people, I love working with people, I love building relationships, but one thing that was really difficult for me was the business side of things. The processes and the advertising and marketing, I knew that I did not have what I needed to make that what it should be. So I reached out to Clay at that time and he and his team

(Speaker 10)
have been extremely instrumental in helping us build our brand, help market our business, our agents, the homes that we represent. Everything that we do is a direct line from Clay and his team and all that they’ve done for us. We launched our brokerage, our real estate brokerage eight months ago. And in that time, we’ve gone from myself

(Speaker 10)
and one other agent to just this week, we signed on our 16th agent. We have been blessed with the fact that we right now have just over 10 million in pending transactions. Three years ago, I never would have even imagined that I would be in this role that I’m in today building a business having 16 agents. But I have to give credit where credit’s due. And Clay and his team and the business coaching that they’ve offered us has been huge. It’s been instrumental in what we’re doing.

(Speaker 10)
Don’t ever limit your vision. When you dream big, big things happen.

(Speaker 9)
I started a business because I couldn’t work for anyone else. I do things my way. I do what I think is in the best interest of the patient. I don’t answer to insurance companies. I don’t answer to large corporate organizations. I answer to my patient and that’s it.

(Speaker 9)
My thought when I opened my clinic was I can do this all myself. I don’t need additional outside help in many ways. I mean I went to medical school. I can figure this out. But it was a very, very steep learning curve. Within the first six months of opening my clinic, I had a $63,000 embezzlement. I lost multiple employees.

(Speaker 9)
Clay helped us weather the storm of some of the things that are just a lot of people experience, especially in the medical world. He was instrumental in helping with the specific written business plan. He’s been instrumental in hiring good quality employees, using the processes that he outlines for getting in good talent, which is extremely difficult.

(Speaker 9)
He helped me in securing the business loans. He helped me with web development and search engine optimization. We’ve been able to really keep a steady stream of clients coming in because they found us on the web. With everything that I encountered, everything that I experienced, I quickly learned it is

(Speaker 9)
worth every penny to have someone in your team that can walk you through and even avoid some of the pitfalls that are almost invariable in starting your own business. I’m Dr. Chad Edwards and I own Revolution Health and Wellness Clinic.

(Speaker 13)
Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do. I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.

(Speaker 43)
You know what I mean?

(Speaker 13)
People rave about what they learn from you. So congratulations.

(Speaker 5)
Sean, guess what’s happening June 5th and 6th

(Speaker 7)
right here in Tulsa, Russia. We are probably going to have an amazing business conference here at Tulsa, Russia. Yes, we’re joined by Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow is going to be joining us right here at the Thrive Time Show World Headquarters June 5th and 6th. He’s a very successful football player, obviously a Heisman Award winner, but he’s also a very

(Speaker 7)
successful entrepreneur. Now, when you work with real clients, Sean, real clients you really work with to help them grow their companies, do you ever hear a business owner tell you that they didn’t have time to get something done? Every day. How often is not having enough time a problem for business owners? All the time.

(Speaker 7)
It’s almost, it’s like maybe 90% of the issues as people are trying to grow their company. Well, Tim Tebow is going to come join us here at the in-person Thrive Time Show two-day interactive business workshop. And he’s going to teach us time management and his approach to personal self-discipline and getting things done. Also at the workshop, I’ll put up Sean, we are going to be teaching accounting,

(Speaker 7)
systems creation, marketing, human resources, how to hire, inspire, train and retain great people, accounting, social media advertising, search engine optimization. Sean, what’s the area where most clients ask you for help the most? Is it generating leads? Is it hiring people? What’s the biggest issue that most business owners have by default before they come to one of our workshops? Well I think it’s management because time is

(Speaker 7)
the most valuable resource for these business owners and being able to manage their time is the first thing. Once they get that under control then generally the numbers, you know, being able to track their business and be able to make the best decisions based on numbers rather than emotions is a big area. And we teach all of this stuff at the business conference, particularly you, Clay, you love to hammer on time management.

(Speaker 7)
It’s my favorite part of the conference. Now, I’m going to pull this up real quick here because we’re going to go through it. If you’re not excited, I want to get you excited about what we’re going to cover at the workshop here. OK. All right. The two-day interactive workshop. This is my 20th year hosting workshops.

(Speaker 7)
So I’m telling you folks, we’re in rare form here. So one is the idea of establishing your revenue goals. I think most entrepreneurs don’t know their revenue goals. Would you agree or am I off my rocker. No, that’s totally a very important point we do with every one of our new clients that come on board is we have to establish the revenue goals and generally speaking we have a vague idea but not an exact idea that can be

(Speaker 7)
engineered down into like the daily goals for sales and that’s a really big one. Now next is the break-even numbers. What kind of sales do you have to do to do to even break even? Third is how many hours per week do you want to work? What is your ideal schedule as an entrepreneur? Box number four, how do you stand out

(Speaker 7)
in the clutter of commerce? What makes your company unique from all the different businesses? In a world of brown cows, herds of brown cows, proverbial brown cows, the analogy of brown cows, how can you be the purple cow that stands out?

(Speaker 7)
How can you be the squeaky wheel that gets the oil? Box number five, branding. How do you improve the perception that people have of you, your business, your brand? Box number six, marketing, your three-legged marketing stool. What is a turnkey way for you and your company to generate leads so you can succeed? Because if you don’t have any leads your business will bleed if you can’t sell your business will go to hell you’ve got to generate

(Speaker 7)
leads. Sean how often do business owners by default tell you they have a hard time generating leads? It’s almost all of the time it’s really a huge struggle and in many times they may be creating leads but just through word-of-mouth so they get to a point where we’ve implemented systems, and then they need to create more leads, but they’ve never had to do it. So there’s a lot of different scenarios

(Speaker 7)
where business owners are like, how do you create leads? Something we hammer on at the conference a lot. Box number seven. Box number seven, create a sales conversion system. Again, box number seven, create a sales conversion system, sales scripts, recorded calls, one sheets, pre-written emails, lead trackers, all of the sales tools, the sales print pieces, the one sheets, the big screens

(Speaker 7)
that you see inside the business, whether you’re a doctor, you’re a dentist, you’re a lawyer, you got to have sales systems in place. We help you with that. Box number eight, what does it cost you to get another customer? Step number eight, what does it cost you to actually acquire a customer? Step number nine, it’s hard to build organization

(Speaker 7)
if you’re not organized. We’re gonna teach you how to create repeatable systems, processes, file organization. Box number 10, we’re gonna teach you how to manage people, real people on the planet Earth. This just in, we’re gonna teach you how to manage

(Speaker 7)
real people on the planet Earth. Box number 11, how to create a sustainable schedule that works for you and your family. Step number 12, how to create human resources systems for recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining great people. Box number 13, accounting, this just in. We have to cover accounting.

(Speaker 7)
It’s not how much you make, it’s how much you keep. We’re gonna cover all the accounting things you need to know. And step 14, finally, what is the point of even achieving success? We’re going to go over what is the point of even achieving success, how to design a life that you’re excited about, how to design a life where you carve out enough time

(Speaker 7)
for your faith, your family, your finance, your fitness, your friendship, your fun, and where you’re going to spend your focused time. We’re going to go through that, all this and more. Now, the workshop, Sean, it’s June 5th and 6th. It’s a two-day interactive workshop. Yes. And tickets, we always do it. It’s $250 or whatever price that someone can afford.

(Speaker 7)
Sean, why do we let people name their price? Why do we have scholarship tickets available if somebody can’t afford the $250 general admission ticket?

(Speaker 11)
Well, we don’t want anybody to miss out on it. You could be at a startup phase, or you could be way along in your business, but we want to make it accessible for everybody. I think it actually goes back, too, to a story of your dad. And it goes all the way back to how you’ve always done this as a business coach, trying to make sure that your average people out there have

(Speaker 47)
access to the things that work.

(Speaker 7)
Now, 7 AM to 5, Sean, why don’t we go from 7 to 5 both days? 10 hours a day, 20 hours of training over two days. Why do we do 10 hours a day, Sean, of back-to-back workshops? We do a 30-minute teaching session, we do a 15-minute question and answer session, and then we take a break.

(Speaker 7)
30 minutes of teaching, 15 minutes of question and answer, then we take a break. Why do we do that format, Sean? That format is so that we can keep people engaged and not just sitting there listening but also getting involved. We really encourage people to ask questions and that’s really where the the juiciness of the conference comes out is you can put your personal situation and your

(Speaker 7)
questions on the board and Clay will tee off and give you direct advice. Even without being in our coaching program you can get direct coaching from Clay. It’s really a very engaging format. I enjoyed a lot. Sean, final 60 seconds pop quiz here. What date is the conference? June 5th and 6th, 2025.

(Speaker 7)
Oh, question number two. Who’s our keynote speaker coming to the conference there, Sean? Tim Tebow is our keynote speaker. Sean, question number three. How much does it cost to come to our in-person two day interactive business workshop right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I think it’s, did you say it’s $250 or whatever you can afford?

(Speaker 7)
That’s right, $250 or whatever you can afford. Sean, how do you spell Eric Trump backwards? P-M-U-R-T-C-I-R-E.

(Speaker 47)
Ooh, that took a long time.

(Speaker 7)
I’ll have to listen to this. All right, again, that’s Shawn Lohman. I’m Clay Clark, inviting you to come join us at the in-person Thrive Time Show, two-day interactive workshop, June 5th and 6th, right here in Tulsa, Russia, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

(Speaker 5)
Shawn, I really am excited to have this event. N6 right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma Tim Tebow, baby. It’s Tebow time. Oh, yeah, also Ruslan

(Speaker 34)
Late Clark is here somewhere. Where’s my buddy play?

(Speaker 46)
Play is the greatest I met his goats today. I met his dogs. I met his chickens. I saw his compound He’s like the greatest guy I ran from his goats his chickens his dogs so this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen right his entire life Clay Clark his entire life is is marketing

(Speaker 18)
hey guys Luke Erickson here with the Thrive Time Show. As you can see behind me, we’ve got all kinds of energy going on. People are starting to show up for the conference and it is hot in this place. We’ve got grill guns over here, we’ve got people playing the drums, we’ve got a fire breather, and man, people are so excited as they come in.

(Speaker 34)
The conference is kicked off, this house is packed. We’ve got air and energy. We’ve got a lot of people here. I’m so excited as they come in. Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!

(Speaker 45)
Woo!

(Speaker 44)
Woo!

(Speaker 18)
Woo! I want people are going crazy. It’s Luke Erickson with the Thrive Time Show here with you. It is day two and the energy is high. People are so excited to be showing up. The team is ready. Come on, let’s see what it’s like to go on in for day two. Follow me.

(Speaker 18)
I’ll tell you what, people are so excited to be here for day two. It is going to be incredible. Cannot wait to see what today has in store. Right now, here at the conference, we’ve broken into groups going over search engine optimization. I know for most of us, myself included, if you hear that term, what is that? What does that mean?

(Speaker 18)
That’s too techy for me. Well, our experts are breaking it down for people so that you can clearly understand how to come up top in Google.

(Speaker 11)
It’s doable, it’s possible.

(Speaker 34)
Now we’re in the middle of a break,

(Speaker 18)
and what we like to do is we like to give you as much tangible and relevant information from about the start of the hour for 45 minutes. Then we take approximately a 15 minute break to allow people to connect with other entrepreneurs around them. Bathroom break and also use this time to just really digest all of the good information that you’re receiving the

(Speaker 34)
whole time.

(Speaker 18)
Right behind me we’ve got Bob with his grill gun, melting an ice sculpture. It is awesome. The ice sculpture represents our life, right? It’s here for a time, but we all need to have the sense of urgency to implement the things that we’re learning so that we can make the most of the time that we have. I heard about it on the podcast.

(Speaker 18)
Started listening to the podcast, became a fan, and then figured out about the workshop.

(Speaker 6)
I own an insurance and financial services company. I heard about it on the podcast. Started listening to the podcast, became a fan, and then figured out about the workshop. I own an insurance and financial services agency, and I was hoping to learn from the workshop systems and processes. I’m big on systems and processes and always learning better ways to run a business more efficiently.

(Speaker 6)
The atmosphere’s second to none. It’s a high energy, really cool atmosphere to be around. Contagious, I would say. Just something every entrepreneur, I think, would appreciate and love. I’d say humorous, high energy, and full of substance,

(Speaker 6)
which I think is the key. A lot of business coaches or seminars maybe are high on motivation and making you feel good, but don’t have a lot of substance that you can take back and implement the following Monday, where his does. Man, there’s a lot of valuable things.

(Speaker 6)
I’m gonna say, I came to, this is my second workshop. The first workshop I took back really the importance of a group interview. I used to spend hours and hours interviewing people, screening resumes, and that saving my time on that part is valuable.

(Speaker 6)
It was that and then the sales scripting that have been two major things just so far. Man, I think they’re missing out on, you know, expert advice from somebody who’s been there, done that, built companies, has learned a lot of lessons. You know, that’s what I’m always looking for is somebody that I can learn from that’s ahead of where I am.

(Speaker 6)
And I think if you choose not to come, you’re missing out on a lot of good advice that could help your business.

(Speaker 5)
Hi, I’m Aaron Antus with Shaw Homes. I first heard about Clay through a mortgage lender here in town who had told me what a great job he had been doing for them. And I actually noticed he was driving a Lamborghini all of a sudden.

(Speaker 5)
So I was willing to listen. In my career, I’ve sold a little over $800 million in real estate. So honestly, I thought I kind of knew everything about marketing and homes. And then I met Clay, and my perception of what I knew

(Speaker 5)
and what I could do definitely changed. After doing $800 million in sales over a 15 year career, I really thought I knew what I was doing. I’ve been managing a large team of sales people for the last 10 years here with Shaw Homes. And I mean, we’ve been a company that’s been in business for 35 years. We’ve become one of the largest builders in the Tulsa area, and that was without Clay. So when I came to know Clay, I really thought, man, there’s not much more I need to know,

(Speaker 5)
but I’m willing to listen. The interesting thing is our internet leads from our website has actually in a four-month period of time has gone from somewhere around 10 to 15 leads in a month to 180 internet leads in a month. Just from the few things that he’s shown us how to implement that I honestly probably never would have come up with on my own. So I got a lot of good things to say about the system that Clay put in place

(Speaker 5)
with us and it’s just been an incredible experience. I am very glad that we met and had the opportunity to work with Clay. So the interaction with the team and with Clay on a weekly basis is honestly very enlightening. One of the things that I love about Clay’s perspective on things is that he doesn’t come from my industry. He’s not somebody who’s in the home building industry. I’ve listened to all the experts in my field.

(Speaker 5)
Our company has paid for me to go to seminars, international builder shows, all kinds of places where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the experts in my industry. But the thing that I found working with Clay is that he comes from such a broad spectrum of working with so many different types of businesses that he has a perspective that’s

(Speaker 5)
difficult for me to gain because I get so entrenched in what I do, I’m not paying attention to what other leading industry experts are doing. And Clay really brings that perspective for me. It is very valuable time every week when I get that hour with him. From my perspective, the reason that any business owner who’s

(Speaker 5)
thinking about hooking up with Thrive needs to definitely consider it is because the results that we’ve gotten in a very short period of time are honestly monumental. It has really exceeded my wildest expectation of what he might be able to do. I came in skeptical because I’m very pragmatic and as I’ve gone through the process over just a few months, I’ve realized it’s probably one of the best moves

(Speaker 5)
we’ve ever made. I think a lot of people probably feel like they don’t need a business or marketing consultant because they maybe are a little bit prideful and like to think they know everything. I know that’s how I felt coming in. I mean,

(Speaker 5)
we’re a big company that’s definitely one of the largest in town. And so we kind of felt like we knew what we were doing. And I think for a lot of people, they let their ego get in the way of listening to somebody that might have a better or different perspective than theirs. I would just really encourage you if you’re thinking about working with clay. I mean, the thing is, it’s month to month. Go give it a try and see what happens.

(Speaker 5)
I think in the 35-year history of Shaw Homes, this is probably the best thing that’s happened to us. And I know if you give them a shot, I think you’ll feel the same way. I know for me, the thing I would have missed out on if I didn’t work with Clay is I would have missed out on literally an 1,800% increase in our internet leads going from 10 a month to a hundred and

(Speaker 5)
eighty a month. That would have been a huge financial decision to just decide not to give it a shot. I would absolutely recommend Clay Clark to anybody who’s thinking about working with somebody in marketing. I would skip over anybody else you were thinking about, and I would go straight to Clay and his team.

(Speaker 5)
I guarantee you’re not going to regret it, because we sure haven’t.

(Speaker 10)
My name is Danielle Sprick and I am the founder of D. Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years and my three kids started school and they were in school full time, I was at a crossroads and trying to decide what what do I want to do. My degree and my background is in education. But after being a mom and staying home and all of that I just didn’t have a passion for it like I once did. My husband suggested real estate. He’s a home builder. So real estate and home building go hand in hand, and we just rolled with it. I love people, I love working with people,

(Speaker 10)
I love the building relationships, but one thing that was really difficult for me was the business side of things. The processes and the advertising and marketing, I knew that I did not have what I needed to make that what it should be so I reached out to clay at that time and he and his team have been extremely

(Speaker 10)
instrumental and helping us build our brands help market our business our agents the homes that we represent everything that we do is a direct line from Clay and his team and all that they’ve done for us. We launched our brokerage our real estate brokerage eight months ago. And in that time we’ve gone from myself and one other agent to just this week we signed on our 16th agent. We have been blessed with the fact that we right now have just over 10 million in pending transactions. Three years ago I never would have even imagined that I would be in this role that I’m in today building a

(Speaker 10)
business having 16 agents. But I have to give credit where credit’s due. And Clay and his team and the business coaching that they’ve offered us has been huge. It’s been instrumental in what we’re doing.

(Speaker 9)
I’m Dr. Chad Edwards and I own Revolution Health and Wellness Clinic.

(Speaker 13)
Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do.

(Speaker 7)
I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.

(Speaker 43)
You know what I mean?

(Speaker 13)
People rave about what they learn from you. So congratulations.

(Speaker 21)
And we went from expecting maybe 250,000 this year to we’re at 400,000. Hi, I’m Kelsey with K&D’s Wooder Finishing, business owner at 23. So I’ve been working this K&D’s company for about five years now.

(Speaker 21)
And we started working with Thrive not too long ago. And we went from expecting maybe $250,000 this year to we’re at $400,000. That’s what we’re going to hit or exceed. So we’re pretty excited about that. It’s been pretty much just listening to what they have to say. Their hiring process has just really been incredible as far as finding good quality help and the just the

(Speaker 21)
accountability of meeting up with them weekly and like such good insight, the resources they have for specific business questions. It’s all been really incredible. It’s been a great experience so I’d recommend it to anybody.

(Speaker 36)
What I’ve seen from Clay and his group at Thrive is they’ll give you a simple system and it’s the simple systems are the ones that people can wrap their brain around. They’re the ones that people can work with on a day to day basis.

(Speaker 3)
Hi there. My name is Stephanie Pipkin. I am 24 years old and I own Black River Falls Cleaning Services. We opened in April of 2019 and it is now mid-June of 2020. So I wanted to talk today about the success and growth I have achieved by implementing the Proven Path with Clay Clark’s team and my business coach Luke from Thrive Time. It has been insane to say the least. I started working with them in mid-February of this year, so we’re about four months in of working together

(Speaker 3)
and it has completely transformed my business in pretty much every facet. So I’m gonna check my notes here. So in four months, my leads have tripled. I was getting probably like two leads a week, now I’m getting more in the like 10 to 15 leads a week. I have doubled my number of employees.

(Speaker 3)
I’m now hitting the highest revenue weeks in the history of the company, week to week it seems like. We went from about six appointments a day as our highest in February to now 14 to 15 appointments a day. And hiring quality employees has become much simpler and less stressful by using their systems for hiring.

(Speaker 3)
I typically only get maybe two complaints a month, if that, and everybody shows up to work. I just have really high quality employees now, especially in something people typically consider a high turnover type of work. You know, cleaning houses, cleaning businesses. I have amazing employees now, and I get rid of the ones who are not so amazing and bring on new ones because of, you know, group interviews and interviewing every single week. It’s just been great and I don’t waste as much time on low quality candidates anymore. And your coach will hold you accountable, which I love.

(Speaker 3)
Again, the tough love is really great. Luke’s like a stern father figure, but he’s also nice, but also stern when he needs to be when I’m being lazy and not doing the things that I know I need to do because I don’t want to do them. So that’s just great. Worth every penny. I mean, I’d pay him a million dollars a month if I can and maybe someday I’ll be able to, but I would just say go for it. If it seems’s stupid or ridiculous, just do what they say because it’ll work.

(Speaker 3)
When they look at my business, people in my town, they think I’m lucky. Things just happen for me. Maybe I am lucky, but it has a lot to do with hard work and perseverance and working until you cry sometimes. That’s just being an entrepreneur, which if you’re a business owner you understand that. But it’s having these systems in place of, you know, of course I’m going to be successful. It’s an absolute because I have all this stuff in the background happening and I have Luke

(Speaker 3)
and Clay and everybody on their team working really hard to make sure that I’m a success. And I can tell that they are just so excited. Every single week when I’m having all these wins and things like that, they’re so excited for me. So it’s the best thing ever, and I would suggest to anybody to work with them.

(Speaker 3)
So sorry for the long-winded reply, but I just had so much to say. And I could go on for hours probably about how amazing they are. But thank you to Clay and Luke and the entire team there, everything you guys have done for me. And I am so excited to continue to work with you

(Speaker 3)
for years to come. Thanks so much for watching.

(Speaker 13)
My saying is, if it’s important to you, hire a coach. And I think that’s one of the reasons people are not successful is they, you know, they eat a cheeseburger instead of hiring a coach, you know, I mean, and so my coach pushes me, they’re younger than me, they push harder, they’re more they’re trained. And as my rich dad

(Speaker 13)
always said, you know, amateurs don’t have a coach, but professionals always have coaches. So I’ve always had coaches for whatever was important. My rich dad was one of those persons. You’re on it, man. You’re on it.

(Speaker 13)
You’re on it. Everybody, listen to this guy. He knows what he’s talking about. You have the macro, macro picture. Very few people have that point of view. Clay, you’re an entrepreneur.

(Speaker 13)
I’m an entrepreneur, and as they say in Stoic, the obstacle is the way. I’m an entrepreneur, and as they say in Stoic, the obstacle is the way. And so if you let you let these pinheads get in your way, you’re in trouble.
