If you use Google and want to know how it works, you need to listen to this 5 part series where business coach Clay Clark and Dr. Z go over how it works.

Variable #9 – Google Search Engine Console – The Google Search Console is their free service that allows you to submit your website directly to Google, thus letting them know that you exists. Do not submit your website to the Google Search Engine Console before your site has been fully optimized.

Variable #10 – Robots.txt – The Robots.txt file is a text file that you should create to instruct Google’s robots how to crawl pages of your website. For membership websites or websites that wish to hide certain content from indexing and showing up in Google searches, Robots.txt files are very helpful.
Variable #11- HTTPS Encryption – The internet today is constantly being attacked by hackers and adding the HTTPS encryption to your website will greatly decrease your chances of having your website hacked and thus the Google search engine likes you even more when you add HTTPS to your website. HTTPS stands for “Hyper Text Transfer Protocol” with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), This technology is also commonly referred to as SSL, which stands for the Secure Sockets Layer.

Variable #12 – Schema.org Structured Data – Schema.org was created as a rare collaboration between Bing, Yandex, Yahoo, Google and other search engines. Adding schema markup code to your website will improve the way your website displays in search engine results by enhancing the rich snippets that are below the page title in search results.
FUN FACT – “91% of people regularly or occasionally read online reviews.” – Inc Magazine

Variable #13 – Domains – Domain names are created to be the unique and readable internet addresses of the websites on the internet. They are made up of three parts:
Subdomain = www
Domain Name = ThriveTimeShow
Top-level domain = .com

Variable #14 – H1 Heading – The heading tags are part of your HTML coding for a web page. The headings on a web page are defined in as H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H5 tags. Just like the headline of a newspaper, you want the most important content to be at the top of the webpage and you want it to have the largest text. You want this text to be the largest and the boldest.

Variable #15 – Click-to-Call – Phone Number – We all know this to be true intuitively, but according to Business Insider’s October 8th, 2015 article, more people now search Google on their phone than from their computers.

Variable #16 – Horizontal Navigation Bar – Users are used to navigating websites with horizontal navigation bars. Don’t get too cute when designing your website’s navigation or customers will not be able to figure out how to find the information that they are looking for and Google’s search engine bots won’t be able to effectively crawl and index your website either.

Variable #17 – 1,000 Words of Content on Every Page of Your Website – According to Bruce Clay the author of Search Engine for Dummies, MOZ.com and my own experience it is really important to produce at least 1,000 words of original text content per page of your website so that Google knows that webpage is worth indexing.
