The 4 Ps of Voting (with Stan Suttles) + Passion Points: Prayer. Patriotism. Purity. Politics.with Camille and Haley Harris

Show Notes

Why America can simply not afford for evangelicals and pro-life Catholics to not vote, and the importance of voting on principles, policies, party platform, and lastly – personality.

Believers and Politics

Millions of evangelicals and pro-life Catholics do not vote or get involved in the presidential election process.

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – “Thou shalt not kill.” – Exodus 20:13

FUN FACT: George Barna of the Barna Group in 2012, determined that….

  • 39 million evangelicals did not show up at the polls to vote.
  • That number includes 13 million that did NOT register to vote and
  • 26 million registered voters that DID NOT vote

Your Vote Does Matter:

Many of those that did not participate, assumed that their ballot would not make a difference, so they did not vote.

The 4 Ps of Principled Voting:

The way we as believers ought to vote and make these decisions should be based on…

  1. 1st Priority – Principles
  2. 2nd Priority – Policies
  3. 3rd Priority – Party Platform
  4. 4th Priority – Personality

Unfortunately, voters make the common mistake of considering personality and a candidate’s public persona first, which is upside-down to the way a Christian should make such decisions.

The Bible should dictate what we believe in and vote for, yet our ever-changing culture would suggest that the Bible and its spiritual standards and precepts are antiquated and not relevant to our progressive world.

But the Bible clearly states that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever; which simply means his ways are eternal and are not up for vote or subject to opinion among those that would seek to morph God and His standards to our temporal ways and worldview. (Hebrews 13:8)

millionvoices.orgVoter Guides

Here a good place to start as it relates to learning and understanding the issues and where candidates stand on the issues. The second page of the guide has an associated linked reference to the candidates position on each issue.

If we say we are Bible-based believers, then we should make decisions and vote according to a Biblical set of values and principles!

If we say that we are Salt & Light as we are called to be in (Matthew 5:13-16) and we say we want to change our culture and we say we want to do something different, but half of us don’t show up to vote, we effectively are withholding our Godly seasoning influence from our culture.

As Christ centered believers we should vote considering the options based on principles, policies, party platform and lastly on a candidate’s public persona and/or personality.

  4. Yes, yes, yes and yes!!! On today’s edition of The Thrivetime Show we are interviewing Camille and Haley Harris the songwriters behind the new song – Back the Blue!
  5. Camile and Haley, welcome onto the Thrivetime Show! How are you?!
  6. Camille, I really wanted to invest the time on today’s show to ask you about 8 big ideas related to Patriots and Protecting our God-given American freedoms:
  7. POINT #1 – Camille, I’ll start by asking you…what are your thoughts about Christians needing to vote in every election:
    1. Christians need to Vote in every election – if you’re not willing to run, help someone win who is the closest to your values. Christians are the largest voting block at 25% of America. If we all voted, we could take every election. We often think if someone isn’t perfect, we can just sit it out, not realizing that one of them is always going to win & if you don’t vote, you may actually help the person win that is further from your values.
  8. POINT #2 – Haley, what are your thoughts on what Patriotism in America is really all about?
    1. Patriotism:  anyone can complain & see problems with our country – but being part of the solution is how we make positive change & preserve liberty. Being involved in government by study, prayer, voting & running for office is love for your fellow Americans because it’s caring enough to fight for America to be a better place for this generation & ensuring that the same freedoms we enjoy get passed on to the next.
  9. POINT #3 – Camille, read our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Federalist Papers, & biographies of our founders. Go through a free zoom class called “Constitution Alive” with Rick Green & David Barton – it goes through our constitution, how it works, a view into how our founding fathers created our form of government, & the overwhelming amount of Christian history we have with 37% of our Constitutional Convention being quotes from the Bible.
  10. POINT #4 – Camille, I would love for you to share about the importance of reading through the Bible once per year.
    1. Read the Bible through every year like our founders made it a practice to do. Our nation was built for a people who govern themselves by godly values – “Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.” – John Adams. The stronger & more moral we are we individuals & the stronger we make our families, the stronger our country is. Broken individuals & broken families make a broken, crime filled, corrupt nation that is susceptible to takeover.
  11. POINT #5 – Haley, so what inspired you to write your new song Back the Blue? We wrote this to encourage our disparaged police officers to give them hope & to be the other side of the argument that’s not heard as loudly that most people support the police.
  12. POINT #6 – Camille, I would love for you to share about your new Pro-Life song, “It’s Not My Right.” What inspired you to write this song?
    1. New Abortion song – “It’s Not My Right”- Roe v. Wade is about to be overturned on a federal level. It’s been prophesied & I believe ACB is going to be a big part of that. Live Action is a great account to follow & has the largest pro-life following online. 5 million people – making awesome educational videos on the biggest civil rights movement of our time. Modern day Holocaust.
  13. POINT #7 – Haley, in a world with so much disinformation…who are the voices that we trust?
    1. People to follow: Candace Owens. Charlie Kirk. The Officer Tatum. Live Action. Rick Green of Patriot Academy & David Barton of Wall Builders. BreitBart News.
  14. POINT #8 – Camille, in your mind why is it important for all Americans to consistently pray for our nation?
    1. NOTES: We invite people to pray & fast with us in any way every Thursday to pray for our nation & that God would have His way in their lives.

3 Part Speech a Chief of Police: 1. Law makers need to make the right laws for 2. Law Enforcement enforce. 3. & the Citizens need to abide by the laws, vote for the right people to make better laws & to do their best to succeed to add to the greatness of our country.

  1. Trump Song – 33 million views +. We get comments from people all around the world love President Trump & see him as a stop to socialism & communism coming to America.

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – Matthew 5:10 – 11

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
