Audio Transcription

Grabbed the duck tape and mentally prepare yourself for yet another business conferences mind-expanding knowledge bomb from America’s number one business coach, Clay Clark.

All right, thrive nation. Welcome back to another exciting edition of the thrive time show on your business conferences radio and podcast download. I want to. I want to ask you a question. Have you ever struggled with staying positive? Have you ever struggled with being optimistic you ever struggled with being somebody who sees the positive, a worldview when there’s so much negativity around you? Have you ever struggled with just losing your joy? You know, maybe you used to be optimistic about life and business, uh, you know, 20 years ago and now you’ve just sort of a, you’ve lost that loving feeling cause it’s Gong Gong gone, woop, doop, doop, doop, doop. Know if you’ve heard a lot. Have you lost that loving feeling? Have you ever felt like I just, I’m struggling to be positive, but what I’m going to do on today’s show is I’m going to give you a rightly divided show, teaching you specifically why you and I must be intentional about being the light in a world of darkness.

I repeat you and I must be intentional about being the light in a world of perpetual darkness. Did you know that Colin Powell, the American statesman and retired four star general in the United States army during his career. I mean, this guy became the commander of the US Army Forces Command in [inaudible] 99, 1989. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, uh, he, he’s the first African American Secretary of state before he became the first African American Secretary of state. There wasn’t a lot of other African American secretaries of state to look up to this just in before he became the first African American Secretary of state. There wasn’t a lot of other African American Secretary of state look up to. And he says, perpetual optimism is a force multiplier. I tell I’m telling you this, if you have a team of people, if you have 50 employees, 40 employees, we’re going to have a Christmas party on December eighth for our team at the Mayo Hotel in beautiful downtown Tulsa.

At that, that iconic, a restored Mayo hotel. And when we have our holiday party, our Christmas party, there, I have to be positive. Why? Because the team feeds off the energy and the positivity and slash or lack there of, of the leader. So perpetual is a force multiplier. This justin next notable quotable pastor Joel Osteen, pastor Joel Osteen, probably the nicest, most upbeat, positive human you’ll ever meet. I can’t tell you how many people have told me about positive interactions with Joel osteen. He says, every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed out or offended. But what you’re doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside of yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you. You can’t. He says, you can choose to not let little things upset you and thrive nation. I’m going to tell you, as a business owner, uh, every day, uh, in one of the companies, somebody files unemployment or somebody claims they were wrongfully terminated or, uh, recently, one of the companies.

This is a fun one. It’s like people who work in your office or making poor life choices that now creates drama in the office and you got to play who, whose baby is it? Game, you know, the game where someone in the offices having a baby but should’ve got whose baby it is a just that kind of stuff and you could be so easy to lose the joy. You know when you have a lot of times we can think that I’m going to have happiness someday. I can’t have happiness now because I got to wait until I get to the end of this particular path and once I get to the end of this particular path, once I get through this particular situation, once I get past that, then I’m going to have success, but I can’t have success now. No, because right now I’m going through this thing. I’m asking you, what thing are you going through right now?

We’ve got to choose to be happy. Right? Jim wrote the best selling author and legendary motivational speaker he wants. Roddy says, happiness is not something that you postponed for the future. It’s something you design for the present. I remembered I was growing DJ connection.com the first time we got sued. Uh, I was upset for like a month, two months, you know, probably probably three bugs by being honest. I should probably be honest, but it was a long time. I was upset. Then when I got past that I had an employee steal stuff from me and I got upset again and that probably took me a month or two to ever trust me because I can’t, you can’t trust people. Once they violate, it made me feel so I can’t trust people. Uh, then after that there’s like equipment stolen and you’re just didn’t. After that you have somebody lied to you about their check or their mile reimbursement or, and all of a sudden you start to go, gosh, we live in a world of darkness.

We live in a world of darkness and it’s true, but you and I have to be the light. This little light of mine, I’m gonna. Let it shine. Everybody. Now this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shot him. Oh, now this, I’m going to let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine everybody. Now, when’s this to stop? The point is you have to be this little lotto mind. You have to be that light because the world is not going to light you up with anything but negativity. It’s not going to. You’ve got to be the source of positivity. Napoleon Hill, the best selling author of thinking grow rich said, everyone faces defeat. That includes you. That includes me. It may be a stepping stone or a stumbling block depending upon the mental attitude with which it is faced. Napoleon hill goes on to ride.

He says, the capacity, the capacity, the capacity, the capacity, the capacity to surmount failure without being discouraged is the chief asset of every person who attained outstanding success in any calling. Let’s, let’s, let’s do it again. The what capacity to surmount. Failure without being discouraged is the chief acid of every person who attains outstanding success in any color. So now let’s get into the reality. Let’s get into the real stuff. Well, according to psychology today, right now, 50 percent of marriages end in divorce. Seventy three percent of third marriages end in divorce. Seventy eight percent of men interviewed by The Washington Post admit to cheating on their spouse what 75 percent of US employees steal from the workplace and most do so repeatedly. According to CBS News, Neval Rollercon, the angel, uh, the founder of Angel List, the legendary venture capital investor. He says, I don’t think modern science has good answers here.

I think that the modern world is really bad. The modern world is full of distractions. Things like twitter and facebook are not making you happy. They’re making you unhappy. You are essentially playing a game that’s been created by the creators of those business conferences systems. And yes, it can be a useful game once in a blue moon, but you’re engaging in the dispute resentment, comparison, jealousy, anger about things that frankly don’t matter. Four to 6 million Americans now thrivers according to live strong. The statistics are now addicted to gambling. One in eight Americans are now alcoholics, my friend. There’s a lot of reasons to look around and go, oh no, the world is bad, but you can be the light you want to see in the world if you’re unhappy with the way the world is. I encourage you to be the source of light and to help me change it.

Let’s be that light. Let’s be different. Let’s be the positive people. So to give you an example of some positive people, uh, what I like to do on the show is from time to time, I like to interview actual current clients or former clients or people that have really been able to move beyond surviving. And that way you can have an example of, hey, that’s a real person that is actually having real success. And Wow, I too can do that. I think it’s so helpful to personify a, as somebody who, to give you an example of somebody out there who’s actually being positive, somebody who’s having actual success. And so what I’m gonna do is I’m going to queue up an audio testimonial from a guy. Um, he and his wife actually had a company in Tulsa, Oklahoma called tip top canine. The company still exists. It had been in business for many years before they ran into me, but now they’ve just been able to take the company to the next level because they have that positive mindset and attitude needed to be coachable and to be approachable and implement what they’re learning. It’s tip top, canine dotcoms know that. Any further ado, let’s hear the testimonial from the good folks at tip top canine.

I am Ryan. Yep. And enable our businesses, our businesses, a dog training business. We help people with behavioral issues and teach their dog how to. When I was learning to become a dog trainer, we didn’t learn anything about Internet marketing or advertising or anything at all, just dog training. And that’s what’s so great about working with clay and his team because they do it all for it, for the weekend job. It is on our passion and that’s training his team here. There is so enthusiastic. Your energy is often charged. Never a dull moment. We’ve been working with clay and his team for the last five months, two of which had been our biggest month ever. One our biggest gross by 35 percent. Please help just make anything from brochures to stickers, new business cards, new logos, scripts for phone scripts, for emails or text message scripting for everything I would describe the weekly meetings with clay and his team are awesome.

They’re so effective. It’s worth every minute things get done. We’ll ask for things like different flyers and they’re done before ours now, so it’s just awesome. Extremely effective. If you don’t use clay and his team, you’re probably going to be pulling your hair out or are you going to spend half your time trying to figure out the online marketing game and producing your own flyers and marketing materials, training materials, all this stuff like that. You’re really losing a lot as far as lost productivity and last time not having a professional do it has a real sense of urgency and that actually knows what they’re doing. When you already have something that’s your core focus, you already, you would also be missing out with a little bit of time and financial freedom that you would have a working with and his team. We’d recommend clay and his team to other business owners because they need to be working on in their business and not just trying to figure out the online game, which is complex and changing daily so no one has a marketing team to. Most people don’t. They can’t afford one and their local web guy or local person that they know probably can’t do everything that a whole team and a whole floor of people can do in hours and not weeks or months. There’s a definite sense of urgency with clay and his team. I used to have to ride other web people really. I mean really ride them to get stuff done and stuff is done so fast here. People, there’s a real sense of urgency to get it done. Great.

And you might be saying to yourself, you know, Gosh, I would love to implement the proven systems, but there’s just no good people, you know, there’s just no good people out there. Well, I mean, there are good people. According to ink magazine, over 80 percent of employees unfortunately do lie on their resumes and according to the US Chamber of Commerce, unfortunately 75 percent of employees steal from the workplace, but that still leaves us with about 15 to 20 percent of the employee population out there that’s hireable. Good high character people. And so I thought I would play for you an example of a really great high caliber, high quality employee, of which we have hundreds of them and this young lady, her name is Cynthia, and what a Cynthia do, she just gets it done on a daily basis. I’m telling you can find good people. It is possible. You just have to do the group interviews on a weekly basis. You’ve got to never ever stop recruiting people and we teach you specifically how to recruit high quality people on these podcasts. If you have yet to hear one of those podcasts, just go to thrive time show.com. Then when you click on the podcast button, you can search there and just type in hiring and we’ve got tons of podcast that will teach you the proven affective path needed to recruit high quality people like ms dot

My name is Cynthia Mccann. I’m the master trainer at elephant in the room. It has been amazing. I finally found the place that I belong and it’s somewhere that from day one I knew 20 years from now I’d be telling people how I got my start, so I’m working at thrive has been different than my other jobs. I’m just because of the the unwavering details, the level of attention and positivity that that everyone in this company brings together and just just where we’re going. The attitude is a culture shock. It is very different from anything you’d ever see at any other office. It’s very positive. It’s very fun, but at the same time you have these, these heavy hitters in the industry that are getting so much done with a smile on their face. The most challenging part about working at thrive in an elephant in the room is holding yourself accountable and keeping yourself on a schedule.

A life has a way of trying to knock you down and and, and make you do things that you wouldn’t normally do. And the thing with with thrive and elephant is that you’ve got people there the whole way to keep you, keep you going. If you choose not to do that, then you know you stick out like a sore thumb. The biggest thing I’ve learned from working at is keeping your problems outside. Keep leaving them at the door, hanging them up, whatever, whatever phrase you want to use for that. The biggest thing I learned at thrive is remaining positive even when positive things aren’t happening around you and making sure that it doesn’t show the overall culture and decor of the office is very masculine without being overpowering. There’s a lot of barn yard, kind of wood reclaimed wood. We’ve got pinion wood burning at all times, so it’s got a lovely sent, um, and you’ve got music playing, so it’s, it’s a very fun, lively atmosphere.

People that don’t like to be held accountable don’t like working at thrive and people that love to reach new heights and love to push themselves and challenge themselves will love joining the business conferences team. But from my perspective, one of my favorite things about working at thrive is, um, the fact that a lot of the books that claim mentions in that clay recommends are books that I’ve already aware of. You know, it’s, it’s that mentality in that, that way of thinking that is so refreshing and that’s gotta be my favorite thing I have described working at thrive to a friend before and I just say, shut up and watch, just just come in with an open mind and an open heart and see what happens. It is completely different from anything you’ve ever seen before to someone who’s not around clay everyday. He may seem intimidating. He may seem intense.

Um, a lot of the things he does may not make sense, but the more you get to know clay and the people that are closest to him, the more you understand how his brain works and how that will benefit you and everyone around you. Just the highlights of working with thrive and with elephant in the room is that I reached me professional heights that I didn’t really think I could achieve before, especially in, in a market like this. Um, also the opportunities. Just being able to grow and have a vision beyond just what is right in front of me. Being able to look, you know, five, 10 years from now and see that there is something there and we’re all working towards it.

Thrive nation, it’s up to you and it’s up to me. What do we want to be a positive person? Do we want to be intentional about being the source of business conferences light? If you look around and you see a world of negativity, the world needs your light dim. Tony, do not let this world steal your joy. The world needs your light. If you’re a positive person and you’re surrounded by negative people, choose to be that source of positivity. Also, get out to one of our business conferences workshops. If you come out to one of our workshops, you’re going to meet people just like you, real sick, freak’s that get up at five in the morning and knock out their to do lists and have goals and journals and they read books and they are proactive about their life and they were just grabbing life by the horns and making it happen, and if that’s you, you got to meet more people like you because you got to surround yourself with people who won’t resent you for wanting to achieve beyond mediocrity. My name is Clay Clark. I’m a business coach. You are a great American and now without any further, I do three, two, one, boom.
