Audio Transcription

In today’s episode of the Thrive Time Business Coach Radio Show, Clay Clark breaks down the concept of sowing and reaping within the world of business. So often as entrepreneurs it becomes easy to feel as though the world owes us something or that our idea is so good that is will sell itself, but when you invest the time to study the world’s most successful entrepreneurs you will discover that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – “Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” – Conrad Hilton

2. Emotionally Engage with Your Long-Term Goals and Disengaged From the Emotions of Short Term Setbacks

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – “Every time I read a management or self-help book, I find myself saying, “That’s fine, but that wasn’t really the hard thing about the situation.” The hard thing isn’t setting a big, hairy, audacious goal. The hard thing is laying people off when you miss the big goal. The hard thing isn’t hiring great people. The hard thing is when those “great people” develop a sense of entitlement and start demanding unreasonable things. The hard thing isn’t setting up an organizational chart. The hard thing is getting people to communicate within the organization that you just designed. The hard thing isn’t dreaming big. The hard thing is waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat when the dream turns into a nightmare.” ― Ben Horowitz, The Hard Thing About Hard Things: Building a Business When There Are No Easy Answers – The man who sold Opsware to Hewlett Packard for $1.6 billion of cash in July of 2007

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – “You are entitled to know that two entities occupy your body. One of these entities is motivated by and responds to the impulse of fear. The other is motivated by and responds to the impulse of faith. Will you be guided by faith or will you allow fear to overtake you?” – Napoleon Hill

4. Over-Delivery Consistently to Ignite the Law of Reciprocity.

AMPLE EXAMPLE – Inviting people to your kids’ birthday party, playing catch, boomerangs, etc.

NOTABLE QUOTABLE – “Deliver more and better service than you are paid for and soon you be overpaid.” – Napoleon Hill

5. Obsess About Getting Into the Top 5% of Your Industry (Be Obsessive)
