Clay, you’re an entrepreneur, I’m an entrepreneur, and as they say in Stoic, the obstacle is the way. And so if you let these pinheads get in your way, you’re in trouble. Octononverba is the motto of the U . S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kingspoint, New York. I had appointments with Naval Academy and Kingspoint Merchant Marine Academy.

And Merchant Marine Academy’s motto was octononverba. In other words, don’t listen to what a person says. Watch what they do. Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do. I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects. You know what I mean?

People rave about what they learn from you.

So congratulations. My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean. We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas. We have probably grown probably five times. I think when we first started with you, we had 60 to 65 employees, and now we have a little over 300 employees. Before we got involved with Thrive Time, we didn’t really have any systems or processes in place.

In six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences and Amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to help you guys implement the SEO. The coaching is just great because there’s accountability. It’s just a fantastic way to grow your company. Having a relationship with Thrivetimes, it’s just been amazing for multiclaim. Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to take a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video. That’s not what we do.

What we do is commercial janitorial service. And you guys were the experts on marketing. And you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right.

And therefore, now my company is much, much larger. Folks, on today’s show, we’re joined by a real client. He may look like a male model. He may look like a hologram. But he’s a real person. He’s a longtime client.

He’s a man that we consider to be a friend of The Thrive Time Show and a friend of mine. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show, Kevin. Welcome on to The Thrive Time Show.

How are you, sir? Clay, I’m doing great. I had a great Christmas holiday.

And I’m glad to be here. OK, so first question, can you tell us, what is your name, first and last name?

And what’s the name of your company, sir? My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean.

We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas.

And how long have we worked with you approximately at this point, sir?

It’s been about six, seven years. General theme of this Friday Spot is to make it, you know, the theme that’s been made popular is make America great again. Well, we need Americans to be great again. What’s the foundational building block of Americans? It’s their family. And it’s interesting, you know, going through life, we spent a large amount of time in marriage ministry as kind of our, you know, a lot of people golf or they, you know, fly kites or something like that.

We always did business. And then marriage ministry was always kind of one of our big passions. You know, on the side, we invested into, in the people invested in ourselves and then when you get a good idea you share it so you be participate in conferences and different things the almost most consistent thing that we would see is is marriage problems were usually a result of problems people having they were single they just have to bring that wagon with them into the marriage and then in that The most common denominator is a dad issue, some sort of dad shaped hole in someone’s heart. We don’t need three hours. Let me ask you the first question.

Tell me about your dad. What’s your relationship with him? I don’t like that guy. Okay, that’s good. You might be a great guy in the future, but you get that worked out before you’re going to be my covering, before we’re going to partner. That was the biggest shortcut in the dating process.

So how do you find good dads in a world where we have increasing fatherlessness and it’s not even valued in movies?

Name five great dad heroes on TV.

Good movies are like, that’s the guy, Al Bundy. I know.

They make them unnecessary and dumb. Well, one man is out there fighting with a shield in one hand and a sword in the other to correct this problem. He wrote a book on the subject.

And we’re going to take a little bit of a left turn into daddom instead of the business space this week, although we’ll probably cover a little bit of both with the one, the only Mr. Clay Clark.

Yeah. Yes, and yes. And if you’re out there today, I want to tell you there’s three things I want to clarify with you. Your marriage can be awesome. It can be exciting. Being a dad can be awesome.

It can be exciting. And growing a business can be awesome. And it can be exciting. And I see so many people that will come, Dave, to our wonderful conferences. And they’ll say, you know, I’m Clay. I’m so successful in business, but my marriage suffered because of it.

I hear that. That’s not a valid excuse. I also see people who say, I’m in poverty because I focus on my family and my kids, and that’s why we live in abject poverty. You see those things. And what I’m saying right now, I see people say, Clay, I was so committed to my kids. I talked to a guy last night.

I’m not making up this story. I talked to a guy last night. He said, I was so committed to my kids, my marriage fell apart. And I’m telling you, the Bible, God has designed the marriage between a man and a woman to be a blessing, to be a life -giving example for your community, and the Bible has laid out exactly what we need to do to be a good dad. And so Dave, this year I sat down, it’s been about a year and a half project, I sat down and I thought to myself, What if I could aspire, Dave, not to be the number one dad in the world, but what if we could all aspire to be the number two dad? Because our father, who art in heaven, is the world’s best dad.

But maybe as mere mortals, we could aspire to be the second best dad. And so, Dave, I couldn’t be more excited to talk about daddom and how to dominate the dad space today. I want to start with this one little caveat for those of you listening and you’re like, man, I’ve never met a good dad. I never met my dad. You’re coming to this space. It’s not a hopeless thing.

Let me give you a testimony. We’re about to have our 33rd year of marriage. I have adult kids that are both very close to the age of 30, a little above and a little below. They pursue relationship with us. They work with us. One of them is over here.

He can testify on his own. I’ll speak for him. that was something I had to intentionally work in because I didn’t come to our marriage, I didn’t come into life with that. And so my dad showed up a few times, I’ve talked to him a couple of times as an adult, didn’t talk to him from the time I was like sixth grade, he showed up when I was a senior in high school because I was in the papers for sports at the time, and he showed up at a game, you know, and I hadn’t seen him in years, and people, I heard rumors, someone said, that’s all your dad’s at the game, you know, and I’m like, so he kind of showed up then, but every interaction with him, been, you know, just not good. And so, um, I had to be the first generation of a new thing.

And so I want to applaud anybody who someone’s shared this with you and they’re like, Hey, this is encouragement. Or you’re looking at this, if you feel discouraged, you know, you’re in the right place simply with the humility of saying, hey, I’m open to learn and maybe there’s systems and processes of what I can do. It’s not genetic or this is how it is or I got some bloodline curse or this won’t work or there’s no way. There 100 % is a way if you’re intentional to do it. I’d like to start with, Clay, if we can, the thing that made me want to talk about this today is when I saw when your book came out, I read all the things that this could help with. And if we could just start with those things and the people are listening, they’re like, oh, That one’s me, or that one’s me.

If you’re wondering, is this book for you, there’s a list of all the things that can help with.

And Clay, maybe you can just go through that list real quick and the listeners could be like, there’s three or four of those.

That’s what I want right there. Okay, so what the Bible has to say about becoming the best father you can be. What the Bible has to say about becoming the best husband you can be. How to become a father that your children respect and love. How to ensure that your children will grow up to be God -fearing, diligent doers, not lazy slackers. Five, how to guarantee that your children have the tools needed to succeed in life.

How to build a successful business while building a successful family. Now, here we go. These are all from seven and below. These are all where real people in my life over the last couple years have said to me, I have, my kids have this problem, we have this problem, could you help me? And somehow because I’m 45 and I’ve never been divorced, somehow I’ve become sort of like this sage elder. I’m like a dinosaur from a different time.

Murder of a guy who’s still married, let’s call him. So this is kind of sad for some folks, but it’s the reality. How to ensure that your kids won’t end up becoming drug addicts. I mean, that’s tough.

How to ensure your children won’t end up getting regrettable tattoos.

Wow. How to ensure that your children don’t end up on the Epstein list. I mean, you say, come on, listen, I know someone very well, I’ll be kind of vague about this, someone very well, whose, you know, family member aspired to have success in Hollywood and basically did the things that would get you on that Epstein list in order to get that position, to get that deal. You say, are you kidding me? I know people right now, Dave, people I know, fathers who are telling me, hey, my daughter, my son, they got tattoos, but then in a place where they no longer can find a job, unless we as a family invest to have the tattoos removed because they for a minute there thought they were post Malone 2 .0. No regrets, no regrets.

The parents are like I’m not going to spend $15 ,000 to have that tattoo removed and so think about that for a second. So all I’m saying is in this book it’s very practical And Dave, what I had is I had some visual aids for you, okay?

Make sure you can’t get to 13.

I know, that’s what I was hoping for too.

If somebody’s not interested in number 13, then you’re just not good.

That was my favorite.

You don’t have it in you to be a good dad.

You probably cannot be a good dad if number 13 doesn’t interest you. Okay, let me keep going. I’ll go through 13 through 17 pretty quick here.

How did it show that your children won’t end up in a Turkish prison? That’s huge.

That is huge.

If you don’t want to buy the book just for that, then you’re probably broken in a way that can’t be redeemed.

You missed something. Number 14, how to ensure your children won’t end up in an American jail or prison facility. 15, how to make sure your children won’t end up becoming godless communists. Number 16, how to ensure your children won’t end up becoming Satan worshippers. 17, how to ensure your children won’t grow up to become whores. Number 18, how to ensure your children won’t end up living in a van down by the river.

Huh? I mean, there’s a lot there. How to make sure your kids don’t take the mark of the beast. How to ensure your children won’t put a chip in their head. There’s just a lot. How to find God -inspired joy when your father dies from Lou Gehrig’s disease.

That was my reality. So there’s so much in there. And what I wanted to do is I want to unpack this. So these are business principles that you can relate to your life. And I have the table of contents pulled up, and I’m going to get into it. So the book is broken up into man laws.

and maybe your producer can pull up the actual book cover. You can find it on Amazon. By the way, folks, if you buy a book, I make like $2 a book, okay? And Jeff Bezos makes more than that on every copy.

That’s how Amazon works.

So if you want to help me make an extra $8 this year, you should buy four copies. So here we go. There’s man laws, okay? So man law number one in the book, or chapter one, is as an intentional father, remember, acta non verba. It means watch what someone does, not what they say. Now, Stacey, that is intentional in business, and that is intentional as a parent.

It applies as a parent and in business. So let’s do an example. We were stage side at the Reawaken America Tour in Detroit, Michigan. And I’ve shared this story, and I’ll share it again. Eric Trump shows up. He says, how are you?

I said, good. He said, hey, where are those flyover guys? I love those guys. That was a true story. He said that to me. And I go, well, they’re over there in that side room off to the side of that beautiful church that hosted us there in Detroit, Michigan.

Well, you and I could talk all we want to about preparation and treating people right. But Eric knew that when he showed up, you would be ready to go. We’re ready to record, lights on, cameras on, that Colton and Avery and Stacey and Dave, the whole flyover team will be ready to go. And he knew there wouldn’t be a big hubbub. He wouldn’t have to round up the host or chase them around. He knew that he could show up and that it would be a pleasant interview.

And so you could talk all you want about preparation, Dave, but if you hadn’t been in your booth, in your stage side set up as you were at all 25 events or whatever, if you hadn’t been ready to go, Eric would not have asked, hey, where are those guys I’d like to hop on an interview? And I’m saying that as an example is that often on Verba, as a parent, kids watch what you do and not what you say. So I put a visual aid there that your producer can pull up. This is my wife’s Christmas stack for 2025. Now, just so you know, Every year, folks, I make my wife’s Christmas stacks taller than the previous year. This year it is currently seven feet tall.

You can see how tall it is in comparison to my wife. There’s a Dropbox link there. I do this because my wife and I, the first couple years we were married, we didn’t have heat.

We didn’t have air conditioning.

We took all of the money that we had in order to take that money and to use that money to buy advertisements in our yellow page ads. There it is, Clay. That’s our stack as of last night. Now, it’s going to get taller.

That tree is a 12 -footer.

So when we’re done, this year will be the first year that the gifts will go above the tree in height. Come on.

And those aren’t just singly stacked.

You’ve got multiple gifts on each level. You need some railings or something. And let me tell you, my wife doesn’t watch interviews that I’m on. Casey, my wife won’t watch interviews I’m on because she’s always kind of terrified of what I’m going to say. So I’m going to tell your listeners a secret we can keep between you and me and everybody. In that green box, okay?

My wife, every time we go out to dinner, every time we go to a restaurant, my wife eats incredibly healthy, very much like you, Stacey. She minds her food very intentional about what she eats, and it’s organic.

But she’ll say this every time.

She’ll say, um, do we have any stevia? Every time! The nicest restaurant in the world. We have got a guy who might be the next governor of the state paying for the nicest meal ever. And the waiter’s like, do you guys need anything? Are you good?

The food’s the best. We’re getting treated to this great meal by this guy who’s running for governor. It’s a very nice meal at a wonderful restaurant. And then my wife, you can see the terror in my wife’s eyes. She’s like, do we have any Stevie?

I mean, it’s almost like the end of the world.

in scotland we’re in scotland eric trump for our anniversary and we’re in scotland for our anniversary eric said for your anniversary i want to take you guys to trump turnberry golf course looking out over the water what a great way to celebrate your anniversary in the lighthouse where robert the bruce

is doing it. Oh my gosh! And maybe your producer can pull that up.

It’s the most incredible view ever, Dave.

And my wife looks at me and goes, do we have any? Stevia? And so I thought to myself, that has to end. So Dave, in that green box, I sent one of my employees, a gentleman by the name of Dallas, I said, I want you to go to every Whole Foods, organic, natural foodie place. I want you to buy as much Stevia. I want it in packets.

I want it in a little eyedropper. I want 10 -gallon drums. I want all of it. And I want it in a box. And I’m going to wrap it.

And I’m going to end.

So he’s like, well, what are we going to put it in? I’ll figure that out. So I bought a chair for my office that I don’t need. One of those chairs where you assemble it yourself. Just a box big enough to house all of the stevia. So in that green box, Dave, there’s enough stevia to keep my wife’s fully stevia -ed for at least a decade.

That’s the base level of where this Christmas is going, Dave. And I’m just saying this is my kids. They participate. They know September 1st. Every single night, I’m not kidding, every night, I take one of them out and we go shop for mom. And we are loading this thing up with accoutrements and things that she, when she thinks I’m not listening, Stacey, I’m listening and taking notes.

And all of those things are bundled together, and it’s gonna be a 12 foot and a half tall stack. And I can talk about how much I love my wife, I can say it, but unless I was taking notes about the things she loves, And unless I was taking my children with me to go, we call it elving, but if I didn’t take my kids with me to go elving, if I didn’t make a big deal about it, if I wasn’t, and you don’t have to buy a lot of gifts. What I’m saying is I could talk all I want to talk about the importance of my wife, but if my kids don’t see me do that, it doesn’t matter. And that’s principle number one.

That applies to business and marriage. And Stacey, I want to get your thoughts on that. Octononverba, actions, not words. I mean, that is 100 % true. You know, we always laugh, you know, you like, you’ll hear a parent say to their kid, don’t smoke. as they’re smoking.

You know, I mean, kids do what you do, not what you say.

They’re always going to follow your example.

Don’t hit your brother.

Exactly.

Exactly.

So I love that. That’s the very first thing that you’re talking about because it is so true. Now principle number two coming in hot. Man law number two, the book is broken into man laws, okay? By the way, if you get the book, each man law, it starts with a massive Bible passage, and it tells you who wrote that scripture. A lot of times we read Ephesians, and we don’t know who wrote Ephesians.

Well, Paul wrote Ephesians while in prison. So it gives you the verse, the context for the verse, and then it breaks it down and makes it very practical. So man law number two. As an intentional father, you gotta tell your children that you love them all the time. And then tell your child you love them all the time. And this is something that I don’t know that I do it enough.

And as I was writing this book and I’m researching, again, I started by researching every Bible verse the Bible said about parenting, every one of them. I’m reading every single verse in the Bible about parenting. And I started thinking, man, you know, Christ tells us to love our wife the way Christ loved the church. I mean, Colton, think about Christ died for his, you know, his bride, you know, and we’re supposed to love our wife the way Christ loved the church. And I started thinking. Man, I mean, God is faithful.

I mean, all throughout the Bible, how many times does God have promises for us? I mean, how many times does he say, don’t fear, right? God tells us 365 times, don’t have fear. We’re supposed to counteract that with the love of God. I started thinking, you know what? I don’t know that I’m doing that enough.

And I am intentional, Colton. But I think I could ratchet it up. And I want to get your thoughts, because you were raised by the Whiteds here. I mean, your family, does your dad say, I love you? Or is that a once a year thing?

Or every four or five years, does he say, You, you, child number one, I love you.

I mean, how often are you told that you’re loved? Yeah. multiple times a day, easily and often. And that was definitely a thing. And then as a kid, he made sure he showed it, like acting nonverbal. I mean, he knew like my love, like I’m a physical touch person.

Like I love I love a big hug. I’m a big fan of that.

And so he would get in bed at night and like bounce on me you know before I go to bed and would like talk to me and catch me up on my day and how was this and what happened here and we’d you know kind of like like sync up every single night um I mean even like up through high school and it was like very you know very connecting time uh for us so not only did he tell me easily and often and regularly, but he showed it. It was acting on verba as well.

That’s a really important thing to keep in mind.

These principles apply to business.

It is easy to say as a dad, I love you.

I tell my kids a lot, but to actually do the thing that shows them that you love them, to show up when you say you’re going to show up, I’m really glad you had that as your very first thing. Yeah, me too. I had a mentor early in life, he used to say, you should always be sharing the gospel. You should always be telling people about Jesus and sometimes talk. And, you know, the implication there is, it’s not like running your mouth saying, it’s like, you should be, the way you do everything should be sharing the gospel. And I, you know, and my kids are different.

Like Colton loved the pouncing and the hugs and Avery’s kind of a little squeeze every now and again, but she wasn’t quite as much on that. Colton, I wasn’t a video game guy. I didn’t grow up video games, don’t appreciate games. I only learned to play one video game my whole life. And it was Madden. So that, you know, and every year we would get the new version of it.

He’d pay for half, I’d pay for half. And, uh, uh, you know, we played Madden, you know, when we had time and it’s kind of fun, you know, doing that. I’ve never played one video game with my daughter, but I’ve watched a bunch of really crappy movies that I know how it’s going to end in the first 30 seconds. She’s going to end up, I bet, I bet she marries the guy in the, not the, not the city guy in the suit. I bet she marries the guy in the red, the red flannel, the plaid shirt that’s working for her dad, cutting wood, you know, you know, dad shush. So I’d watch for her.

It was logging a lot of time doing that, going to dinners, having long conversations. So like dad, received it different.

It wasn’t even just telling them both I loved them, but it was showing up in their way that was important.

Because I couldn’t parent these two kids the same way. So good. And I want to make sure, at the conference we had in Anaheim, I asked Eric Trump to break down the weave.

The weave is a teaching move that President Trump uses all the time.

It’s not a Jasmine Crockett thing, right? It’s not Jasmine Crockett. It’s not a Jasmine Crockett move. So this is what Eric was explaining at the conference. I asked him, you guys saw him talk about this on stage at Anaheim. The weave is where he’s talking about two ideas at the same time, almost like if you look at the diagram of the human gene, the human genes that makes humanity possible.

You see it’s kind of woven in like a rope or a cord. The weave I want to share with is that these principles are practical for dads, yes, very practical, but for business people too. It’s so important. And I encourage everybody out there, if you go to thrivetimeshow . com, we’ve got Tim Tebow. He’ll be joining us in April for our upcoming workshop.

That’s Tim Tebow. Again, that’s going to be April. And if you go to thrivetimeshow . com, you’re not going to see today the Tim Tebow face yet, because we know it’s an April day, but I’m going back and forth on the date. But people can still request a ticket. I think it’ll be the first Thursday in April I’ll have that up there.

But I do know on June 19th and 20th, we are hosting the Reawaken Reunion event. And what we’re gonna do on the 18th, which is the night before the 19th, so on Thursday, because the Reawaken Reunion will be Friday, Saturday, on that Thursday before, we’re gonna host a complimentary business conference for all of the attendees as well. So it’s gonna be a really great weekend there. And again, the principles I’m teaching here about business, they apply to dads. The principles I’m teaching about dads apply to business. So what were those principles?

One, Octanon Verba. It’s about action, not words. The second, you’ve got to tell your kids that you consistently love them. And in business, you have to have a daily huddle, guys. If you have a business, you have to huddle every day. Today I got to work, I got to work previous, shocker, previous to six in the morning and I get to work.

and there’s one young lady and one young guy just working it.

They are working that thing. Come on. Because we have a big Christmas party tonight and they’re working that thing. So I said, hey, you guys, great job today. And I said, great job. Probably, I don’t know, 180 seconds later, and Colton, you’ve been around me long enough to know what I do, I come back to the same idea.

I go, did I mention you guys are doing a great job? And I think I waited probably 45 more seconds. I’m like, Do you guys want lunch today? Because I really feel like that’s your love language and I want to tell you guys what a great job you’re doing preparing for this Christmas party. But if I’m not intentional, every single time I leave the office, I’m not kidding, every time I leave, I make sure I tell everybody, great job, great job, I greatly appreciate you. And you can’t get bored with it, you can’t get tired of it, you have to do it every single day.

As a parent, as a business owner, you gotta tell your team that you appreciate them, that you care about them, you gotta tell your family you love them.

Man law number three, this is a little bit tough here.

As an intentional father, don’t put a chip in your head or a whore in your bed. So good.

Why is that tough?

Well, in my life, right now, I’ll tell you a story. It’s true. It’s sad. I won’t give you a lot of details. Keep it kind of vague. I worked with a doctor, Dave.

We helped him grow his business dramatically. He comes into our meeting one day. He says, Clay, here’s the problem. I worked with this guy for a decade. I’m getting divorced. I said, I hate that for you, man. I’m so sorry.

Are you good? He’s like, yeah, I made some poor decisions, and so we’re getting divorced. And to his credit, he didn’t bash his ex -wife. He’s like, yeah, I made some mistakes, whatever.

So I’m working with the guy, and we’re probably four years, no, now it’s five years into our 10 -year relationship.

He says, ah, man, I got to tell you, we got to change the passwords on my website again. Oh, no. I’m like, dude, that’s your second time? Second number two? What happened? He’s like, ah, yeah, I made some mistakes, whatever.

Not kidding. Third time. He’s like, hey, man. I’m moving out of the country. What’s going on? Well, you know, my wife and I, we had a big blow up and I don’t want to, you know, so three, three destroyed marriages in less than 10 years and the people in my office who’ve been here for the continuity of that thought, they’re going, you know, this guy should definitely not date people he’s not married to.

That’s his biggest business problem. He’s losing half of his net worth or more, by the way, probably losing 60 % of his net worth because he keeps dating people he’s not married to. And so I’m just encouraging if you’re watching this show right now, Be faithful to your wife and business, moving on the weave, be faithful to your business partners. I see so many times, I got a guy today who called me, it’s a true story this morning, he wants me to work with him in his market. And I can’t help him.

I can’t help him.

He went to thrivetimeshow . com. He requested a free 13 -point assessment. He wants to work with me. He knows of the success stories. He knows I charge $1 ,700 a month.

And he knows I won’t work with two direct competitors in the same geographical area. I’m not going to work with two doctors in the same market. I’m not going to work with one doctor on the side. I’m not going to hide that I’m working. Colton, if you had a restaurant, I’m not going to work with your number one competitor and you at the same time. I tell the guy, I can’t work with you.

Nobody needs to know that I’m paying you $1 ,700. I go, but I would know. And again, it’s just that principle, and Dave, I want to get your thoughts on that, because if you’re willing to cheat on a business partner, you’re willing to cheat on your wife. If you’re willing to cheat on your wife, you’re willing to cheat on your business partner.

I see the guys who are always cheating in marriage are always cheating in business. I see the same personality type, and Dave, you just can’t allow a whore in your, you can’t allow a whore in your bed, whether that’s a figurative idea or an actual literal idea, you just can’t be unfaithful to your spouse. Well, there’s a lot of things in that. Somebody who steals eggs will steal chickens. One of the responsibilities I had early on in our marriage, my kids were young, and I was in a lot of business relationships with men. A lot of them I admired, like, man, I want this to be a good partnership.

And you get to know them a little bit, and there’ll be this language when you’re a private of like, ah, the old lady at home, or this or that, or some of these things that I did not want my son to get. I knew if I spent a lot of time with this guy, my son would be more like this guy, inevitably. Because I would become more like this guy. So my son would become more like this guy. And so I’m like, this could be really profitable. This could be a, man, this is a good, I don’t want my son to be more like this guy, even if it’s good for me in business.

I’m severing this. I was at a business trip one time. I was in Baltimore, and I’ll be vague. There was a bunch of guys that said, hey, at the end of this thing, we’re all going to this club to watch these dancers. And I’m like, I’m out. I’m not going.

I didn’t go to my own bachelor party. There’s guys I worked with at the furniture store. They went to a similar place for my bachelor party. I didn’t even go. And so I said, no, I’m out. And they heckled me.

Oh, come on, David. Stacey’s not going to know this kind of stuff. And I’m like, I would know. I don’t want to be like that in that environment. I’m not going to go because I don’t want my son to be like that and to be there. And so those ideas of they’re watching you all the time, but even if they don’t see you, the smell of who you become gets on them.

It’s like being around smokers. Why didn’t you smoke? You smell like smoke just the same because of the environment you chose to be in.

And your kids will model that. Inevitably, your kids will model that. And one thing I’ll add to that too, Clay, is something that we actually did. You know, we’ve been business partners since we were 23 years old. So, you know, most of our married life, we got married at 20, 23 years old, started becoming business partners, have been that ever since. And one of the things that we actually did this year due to Colton requesting it, we came up with something called Prosperous marriage and in that we actually talked about boundaries that we create as well as guardrails to protect

our marriage and to protect our family. I highly encourage checking it out. There’s actually a free book you can get when you go to prosperousmarriage . com. If you go there, you can download the free book.

But then there’s a course that we did on walking through what did we do to protect our marriage and our family so that we could be successful? Because how great is it if you build a giant heap of income and then you got to cut it in half, just like you were saying with that guy constantly cutting it and a half, you’re never going to build a successful life. It’s never going to be prosperous. And some of the guardrails there are so ridiculously, the benefit of a guardrail is if you actually bang into it, you’re not going off the cliff. That’s why you set a guardrail on this side of the cliff. Like, well, that’s not a big deal.

Where’s a verse that says that’s wrong? If I’m at a lunch and there’s a a male and a female person there with me and the guy’s done, I gotta go and leave and something. I’m like, check, I’m out. I don’t stay there with her. I’m like, well, is that wrong? You don’t trust yourself?

I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. I’ve never had any regrets. There’s no downside to it. It’s just a rule that I put in my head. I never have to think about it.

Once you make one decision like that, you never have to like, well, I don’t know. This is fine.

She’s older.

I’m never alone with another woman. I’ve never been in that situation. I get out. You said there’s a higher standard because it’s like you don’t put yourself in that situation.

But even some people don’t even think through like, what if I’m at the restaurant completely safe, you know, we’re at the, we’re at the cheesecake factory and hey, you’re right.

The guy that was in the meeting left and it’s just me and this other lady. And one of my, my wife’s friends walks in and sees me with like, Hey, I saw your husband was getting dinner with a, with a girl. Like how would that make Michaela feel? She would be like, Oh, she would be hurt. And it’d be like, man, I need to talk to him about that.

And obviously she would, she would trust me first, but that’s not the point.

It’s, it’s beyond even approachable of that situation.

It’s like, man, I don’t even get into a situation to where it could even appear to be something that’s going on. No regrets. No regrets.

There are so many.

If you read this book, the Bible has so much to say about marriage.

I learned so much by researching that.

There’s your tattoo quote right there, Clay.

No regrets. No regrets. The one you need to get removed. Now, I’m going to skip ahead to some other man laws here just to give people some texture here. But man law number five, you always want to publicly praise your wife. You just always want to do it.

You want to go out of your way to praise her publicly. It’s a pro tip. And what does the Bible have to say about it? The Bible really, really talks about how a marriage is a gift from God. Who finds a good wife finds a good thing. And so you want to go out there and brag on your wife.

Now, man law number seven, don’t abdicate the process of educating your kids. What am I saying? I see so many parents. I try to be very vague. I want to give a little texture, but a little bit vague here. People I know that are very, very, very wealthy, for some reason the new trend I see with my clients that are wealthy and people I know that are wealthy is they want to hire somebody to drive their kids to school.

They want to hire someone to educate their kids at home. They want to send their kids to school. They want to get a personal trainer for their kid to work with their kid. And what they’re doing is they’re saying everything that their kid needs, they don’t want to provide. because they wanna hire somebody else to do it. Now I’m a fan of a personal trainer.

I’m a fan of a music tutor. I’m a fan of having somebody teach your kids to read effectively. But that can’t take the place of you being a parent in their lives. And it’s so, so important. Principle number eight, or man law number eight, you gotta make sure that your kids gain biblical literacy. You know, so many people right now, they say, Clay, I did an interview yesterday with a lady, she said, Clay, Revelation chapter 16, verse 12 through 14, how did you know?

that it said. Who told you was the question. Who told you that the Bible said that when the Euphrates River dries up, China and Russia are going to team up, the false prophet’s going to show up, nations will gather against Israel, stuff’s going to blow up, and the beast technology shows up. I said, well, the up part, that’s just how I learn, is I make patterns that are easy to communicate. But as far as that, I mean, I read the Bible.

And she was blown away. This is a major, major media outlet just blown away. You read the Bible? And you found the church in the Bible? Are you qualified? Did you go to seminary?

So I just think it’s so important. And all these principles, they apply to business. Let’s go back. If you have a business, Praise your staff publicly. You just got to find a way to go, great job, Carl, one of your employees. And you brag on him in front of the customers or other coworkers.

You want to do that kind of thing. And you want to make sure that your kids know that you read the Bible. And you want your employees to know that you read the Bible. So all the employees who work in my office, I’m telling you guys I have a haircut chain. We cut men’s hair. I’m involved in a wood flooring company.

I’m involved in other businesses. And my employees never, ever, ever have to wonder where I stand, because they’ll go, and they laugh about it. They’ll go, hey, I see I’m giggling. I’m like, what are you guys laughing about? They go, well, you know, we had a woman who wanted to get her hair cut at the hair place today. And we were just talking about what you would say.

I’m like, what did you think I would say? They would say, you’re not a woman. You’re not a man. Get out of here. You know, I’m like, exactly. I’m really into the biblical.

And Dave, if your kids don’t know that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, if they don’t believe that you believe the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, they can’t ever know where you’re going to stand because now you’re kind of like the Republican or Democrat party. Now you’ve got situational ethics. Now we don’t know what you’re going to do. Now it’s what? If it’s profitable, I’ll do it.

If it’s legal, I’ll do it. If your kids have to know that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, and your business partners need to know that, too. Yeah, well, it’s modeled in every area of your life, and again, you can’t be this way in business and not, you know, in your personal life. You know, you said, you know, brag on your wife publicly. Today’s the 12th.

Every month when it’s the 12th, I always remind Stacey, Proverbs 12, 4. you know, a wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, you know, it’s like, it’s like you celebrate those things. I’m like, man, I got a great crown.

Thank you.

You know, um, and, and having that as, as your sort here privately, then that overflows into what you’re doing, you know, business wise, but it does carry over and, and it applies in both areas. Just the same. So good. Man law number nine, and this is something, Dave, that I, again, as I’m reading the book, I’m going, am I doing a good job? I feel like I’m doing a good job, but can I do better? And I’m going, man, I’m a C minus father.

That’s why on the cover of the book, you have a book cover, you talk about what the book’s about, and I put a man who has attempted to be a father for over 20 years, 25 consecutive years. There you go, yeah, 21 consecutive years. Because I’m not perfect, I’m not claiming to be perfect, but I’m looking at what God has to say a perfect father looks like, the perfect father looks at. And this idea of teaching my kids financial literacy. Last night I was talking to my daughter, and she really has a lot of curiosity about how money works. So I pay my kids $300.

every time they read a self -help book and they write a report for me. So, rich dad, poor dad, 300 bucks. Think you can grow rich? 300 bucks. How to win friends and influence people? 300 bucks.

Now, some of my kids get pretty excited about that. Some of my kids, not so much. But I like all my kids to get excited, yes. But I want to make sure that all of my kids get out of my house, when they get out of my house, that they know when they leave my house how an economy works, how a business works, how financial management works. I want them to know those principles. I’ve

got to be intentional because they’re going to school, and at school they’re learning almost the reverse of this. They’re almost learning the reverse. They’re going to a private Christian school, and I would argue maybe a third of the teachers are actually teaching the opposite of what the Bible has to say. The Bible says we’re supposed to leave the edges of our fields for the poor. There’s always going to be poor. Always going to be poor people.

The Bible says this. We’re supposed to leave the edges of the field for these people.

The Bible says in Proverbs 10 .4, it says, God blesses the diligent and punishes the hand of the slackered.

Wow, that’s tough. The Bible says that a man who cannot provide for his family is worse than an unbeliever.

What?

That’s in Timothy. That was kind of harsh there, Timothy. What was that all about?

So Colton, people don’t know that kind of stuff. Colton, you’re doing it right now. You’re teaching it to your kids. I have a five -year -old and I have a four -year -old and an almost two -year -old. If you ask my five and four -year -old, we go through, what’s an asset? It’s things that are able to make you money.

What’s a liability? It’s things that take your money. They know these things quickly. I’m like, what do rich people think about a lot? They think about assets. Why do they think about assets?

Because those things make you money. What does the middle class typically think about?

They think about their credit score because they’re thinking about how much can they financially afford, so the middle class credit score, and the poor usually think about consumption.

When liabilities go on discount, the poor rush to them.

when assets go on discount, the rich rush to them. These are the things that my five and four -year -old are learning in droves. Tell them about playing Cashflow Quadrant with them and the doodads. The Cashflow game is one of my favorite games on the planet. I love Cashflow. It’s pretty complicated for a five and a four -year -old because they barely read, let alone being able to read the cards and all the things that come along with it, but there’s Cashflow for kids.

I’m telling you guys, if you have little kids, It is a blast. I’d say if they’re over 12, probably move them up to the big boy game. But if they’re young, it is a really fun game, but it gives the green ones are assets, the red ones are liabilities. and they go through them, but they get these little cards that say it’s a doodad and some of the doodads are not fun It’s like man your car is in the shop your jeeps getting fixed right now And she got a doodad it hurt her in the game. It hurt her in the game. Oh this bad She had to add to liability tokens because she didn’t have the money car repair She didn’t have the money to fix her car so she had to put it on a credit card which now is a monthly payment Added on to her stuff, and I was like see those doodads those come up That’s why daddy before I took my car into the shop into the car doctor I was putting the money aside so that way when it came up it didn’t go on my credit card like I had what it was was required to do this but the doodad sometimes you know it’s a whack sometimes it’s like you know your card when you repair other times it’s like even $100 and it’s it’s a you know I took my friends all went to the water park together you know but it’s a doodad either way so doodads are expenses that come up in the game and they’re like oh man and my son came to be yesterday we were on a walk and he’s like dad I don’t have very many assets.

I only have liabilities, and I have a lot of liabilities. I was like, what liabilities do you have? But he was just thinking through all the things that cost him money. He’s like, man, I bought that, and I bought that, and I bought that.

I got all these doodads, but I don’t have any assets. And I was like, you should probably work on that. Start saving up and make sure you buy an asset. I want to share this by this final principle, and I think it’s so important. The reason why, Colton, you’re able to spend time with your kids is because you’re intentional about choosing to spend that time. You’re very intentional.

Could we all do better? Absolutely. But you’re having those conversations about liabilities and assets with a four -year -old because you’re blocking out time for it. And last night, this is our final principle I want to teach, we have time for it, but this is man law number 12. You got to say no in order to grow your relationship with your children. You have to say no.

And so what am I saying? Last night, we had a guy from the conference we were just at, we were in Anaheim, people went to Thrivetimeshow . com. By the way, anybody watching this, go to Thrivetimeshow . com. Come join us.

Tim Tebow, April, Eric, Trump, and June. Get your tickets, Thrivetimeshow . this. growing this thing, want to do this thing, want to scale this thing. I think you’d be an integral part of this. I know you charge $1 ,700 a month.

I’d like to pay considerably more to have a little bit more of your time, have more of your brain, more involvement. I know your model. I know what you do. You have a weekly coaching session with the client, and then you have a team that does photography and video and web and search engine. I like the idea that you will take calls when I need it, but I want you to be more all in. This is a multi, multi, multimillionaire.

I love you so much, but our program and Dave you know this Stacy you know this you you’ve been in the program you know clients that are in the program it’s a system where you know we’ll meet you once a week and then you can call whenever you need something we help you grow your company and I just said I can’t I can’t I can’t help you and he said why not and I go well because I don’t want to go to Anaheim California more than maybe once every year or two.

And I don’t want to, and he goes, Clay, this is a multi -million dollar opportunity.

I mean, I’m not kidding. I could pay you tenfold what a client would pay. And I’m going, I love that, but no. Why? Because I’d have to travel, as you already stated, and so I respect your time enough to say I’m not coming out to Anaheim. I’m not interested in making millions and millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars.

I’m not. What I am interested in, and I told him this, I said, I’m very interested in taking my wife on a date. And I’m trying to find a way to sneak seafood into her diet. That’s kind of where I’m at right now. I mentioned to you, Dave, I said, I’m trying to work on a little song with Dave Wyden. We’ll see if it goes well.

I got that going on. I’m trying to get that going. I got my Christmas video I need to edit. And it’s not funny enough yet. We sit down to watch our annual family Christmas video.

If it’s not funny, it doesn’t work.

So I got to edit that. And he’s going, what? you serious he was Dave he looked at he talked to you I was on the phone but he talked the way he responded it made it feel like that I wasn’t adequate or that I wasn’t a smart person or that I was mentally deficient he goes are you serious are you being serious right now I don’t know I’m serious so you’re telling me you’re leaving millions of dollars on the table so you can make a Christmas video and a song for my buddy Dave and I I think about ways to allow my wife to sneak seafood into her diet. That’s what I’m focused on. And it really blew his mind, Dave. But if you would have gone back 20 years ago, I would have said yes to that.

I would have said yes to that. And I think, Dave, that’s one big thing we have to do is we have to learn to say no to grow the relationships with our children. And so I would just say my calls to action, and I’ll pitch back to you, Dave, on your own show, is I just say, everybody, if you go to Amazon, you can buy this book. I’ll make $2 if you do, which is incredible, because you can buy 100 % of nothing right now. You can buy 1 30th of an ounce of silver right now for $2. So you can buy the copy of the book there.

Also, we’ve got the in -person workshops coming up in April with Tim Tebow, Eric Trump in June. Use promo code Flyover. Then finally, if you want a one -on -one consultation with myself, I would love to talk to you, help you grow your business. That’s what I do, but I know you can have a great marriage and a great business, Dave, and I couldn’t be more fired up to share the good news.

Before we move on to David, can you just explain real fast about that one -on -one, that 13 -point assessment?

What does that look like for someone?

Because that’s something that we get a lot.

We actually get phone calls from people saying, Okay, what do I do if I’m interested in learning more about what Clay’s doing and him possibly coaching me? It’s like a timeshare pitch. Yeah, exactly. Is this what he’s doing? I’m going to pull up to my right an assessment I just did last night. That way I can get a little bit of beat on the bone here.

I’m not playing solitaire. So this particular guy, he’s a cardiologist, and he’s on the East Coast, and he’s exchanging time for money, and he wants to grow beyond his own skill set. He’s a cardiologist. Now, that’s an example. Another one that I had yesterday, these are people that I think would be a good fit, but I always tell people, pray about it, think about it, form a committee about it before you sign up, okay?

And by the way, these people are committing to pay $1 ,700 a month, month to month, no contract. And we have a scholarship for people in need. So it’s not like a big, big, but another guy, he wants to build a masonry company. He’s a stonemason. He wants to build a masonry company, not a Freemason, a stonemason. And he wants to grow this thing.

And so we got the stonemason guy, picture a white, kind of a blue collar guy. His hands are calloused, that kind of guy. And then picture the white collar guy, the cardiologist. And the cardiologist, I said, well, what are your goals? He told me his goals. And I said, well, the specific path to go from where you are to where you want to be, tell me more about that.

did you want to make? Why do you want to make that money? How do you currently get your leads? How many people work for you? How do you structure your day? What’s your biggest limiting factor?

And we’re going through all these checkboxes, OK? And it’s really detailed. And we’re going through it. And I said, OK, based upon what we’ve gone over, kind of like how Bob Ross would paint you a happy tree, I’d paint him or sketch for him a path, a portrait of what that would look like. I said, so step one, Mr. Cardiologist, we would need to register a Google map in your area. Step two, we would need to build the website, which is Google compliant.

Step three, we really need to get an about us video. Step four, we need to start a hiring process so we can hire another person to work underneath you who can handle the paperwork so you can see more patients. And we need to interview other cardiologists to work underneath you. And we’re going through, and he’s scrolling through this 50 -page document, this guy, and he goes, hey, I don’t have to be sold. I see a plan. This makes sense.

I met another doctor at the California conference. I want to work with you. ” And then I said, Dave, and I say it every time, why don’t you think about it, pray about it, form a committee about it, and why don’t we do a follow -up call on Saturday? Because I feel like you’re excited about it, and I love that for you, but I don’t want you to feel like you got pressured There’s no contract with me. I’m not gonna con you and lock you into a track I want you to think about it, and he says this guy goes Really? I’ll give you a card right now. ” I go, can’t do it.

Because I’m not going to do the whole high pressure thing. Because my average client is with me for six years or longer. Now back to the blue collar guy with limited time we have. This is a guy who’s never generated gross revenue. of more than $300 ,000. And he goes, Clay, paying $1 ,700 a month is something I can’t afford.

I said, well, you could do it as low as $1 ,000 a month. He goes, well, do I have to pay it back? I said, no. There’s no payback. There’s no loan. He goes, OK. I don’t even understand how that works, but okay.

And so he’s excited. So we’ll talk to him on Saturday. And so that’s kind of the dynamic range of what we do. And then what happens is once we give you a path, you have to actually implement it. That’s where you have photography and videography and online ads and social media and bookkeeping and tracking and accounting and hiring and systems, all that messy middle. We do all of that for you so that way you can focus on your main thing.

And we would call that Pareto’s principle. You take 80 % of your day. to focus on the 20 % of the things that only you can do, like being a cardiologist or doing masonry. And then we want to, as a team, we want to do the 80 % of the things that are kind of the mindless, I call it crap, core, repeatable, actionable processes. And because I’ve been doing this for 20 years, we have thousands and thousands of success stories that you can see right now today at thrivetimeshow . com.

I’m not kidding, folks. Thousands. Dave, I ran into a mini storage guy at the event who’s doubled his mini storage business. We’ve been working with him, and he comes up and says, I’ve doubled my mini storage business in Utah.

I’m like, that’s crazy. I don’t coach all the clients, you know, so I have other coaches that work underneath me. I’m going, really? That’s incredible.

You doubled? I mean, who doubles their business in a year? Anyway, I couldn’t be more excited, guys, to give the gift of success. I got one more question for you, Clay, about that, because another thing that we get sometimes is, does Clay work with ministries? So let’s say somebody’s a pastor of a church or they have some sort of ministry. Do you work with ministries as well?

I’ll fire off seven of them right now. I think seven. Here we go. Pastor Brian Gibson with his church. Love him. Amarillo, Texas, and Owensboro, Kentucky, and Henderson, Kentucky.

Pastor Chad Everett in Illinois. That’s number two. Then we have Pastor Jackson Laumeyer in Tulsa. That’s three. We have Amanda Grace. That’s four.

We’ve got a lot of churches we work with, and what happens is that in order to grow a church, you have to develop a workflow. So when someone calls the church, who responds to the call? When you have a visitor, what happens? How do we get new visitors to the church? How do we get the audio and visual team on the same team with the pastor? How do we make sure that our praise and worship team sounds like they’ve practiced?

How do we hire people that have the skill sets needed to do what’s needed to grow a church? How do we make sure that we’re accounting properly? How do we make sure that the church isn’t going into bankruptcy? I mean, there’s all that stuff. How do you structure a service in a way? If you have two services, one of my pastors just expanded to three services on Sunday because he can’t keep up with all the people.

How do you do that? How do you? And again, it’s just so and processes and everybody out there. So ministries, now you think about ministries. I don’t want to keep you too long, but outside of the ones I mentioned, There’s an endless number of non -profitable entities that I’ve helped to scale that are ministry -minded, like Safari Mission.

They’re an outreach to Africa. I think we’ve helped them grow by 50 times. 50 times the reach in terms of how many people is he reaching? 50 times more. I mean, there’s a major, major ministry that goes down to South America, and we help this guy go from a dream of being a missionary to when he goes out now to speak, I’m not kidding guys, there’s like 15 ,000 people in the, 15 ,000 people, 15 ,000, one, five, comma, zero, zero, zero, in the pictures.

They’re down there in Argentina and Mexico.

So I mean, I have so many examples of that.

So if you’re a ministry, we have a marriage, He’s a clinical therapist, but he works with people in the context of marriage.

So it’s like, my kid is acting nuts, we’ve probably as a parent made a poor mistake, what do we need to do? He’s a Christian counselor, but for kids, and he works with the moms and the kids and the whole thing.

Endless examples of that, Stacey.

That is so good. Thank you, Clay. It’s amazing how many of his clients we’ve gotten to meet at reawakening events and stuff. I know. I was like, oh, that’s a great person.

Pastor Brian Gibson, when you get him on, have him yell at us for a while.

That would be amazing.

Vidar Ligard. Vidar Ligard. Our daughter’s dog is a little Cavalier King Charles named Charlie.

We’re big on nicknames in our family.

Nobody’s called by their real name. Anyway, Charlie became Char. And then somehow it evolved to V -Char Ligard. V -Char Ligard. All we call her dog is V -Char Ligard. And nobody would ever say, how did you come up with that?

Well, you got to. In honor of Safari Mission, Vidar Ligard. In honor of Safari Mission.

charla guard.

The charla guard.

Clayton, I hope you give your parenting book to Tim Tebow. He’s really into procreating right now.

He’s duplicating himself.

He’s got a little timmy toe, I think now. and uh maybe you can give him that book when he comes in April.

I’m sure he’ll appreciate it a lot. I will do that and I won’t give Tim red dye forty because I guess he’s like massively uh allergic to red dye forty. Oh wow. Okay.

Almonds, any kind of I have a list of things he’s allergic to. I hope he’s not allergic to my book. No, he wouldn’t be. Well, don’t sign it. Maybe that would that would be the only part.

I don’t sign it.

That that’s the key.

Thank you guys so much for your time and Clay Clarke is here somewhere.

Where’s my buddy Clay?

Clay’s the greatest. I met his goats today. I met his dogs. I met his chickens. I saw his compound. He’s like the greatest guy.

I ran from his goats, his chickens, his dogs. So this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen, right? His entire life, Clay Clarke, his entire life is marketing. 4 ,000 % from February to February.

Now I can better that.

Okay, Clay, I don’t think you know this. I don’t think you know this. I’m pinching myself and if I cry, forgive me.

And the last two and a half days we have bettered our entire month of February and the last two and a half days. So and the phone’s blown up. Everything’s just blown up. Well you’re right. It is like a rocket ship. So we’re pinching ourselves.

Actually I learned at the Academy King’s Point in New York Octa nonverbal. Watch what a person does.

not what they say. But I recognized at the age of 15, I’m going, you know what? I am not going to live that way. And so I started a company out of my parents’ basement called DJConnection . com and I decided I am going to have success. And so I reached out to millionaires and people that I kind of knew through church and friendships and people that, parents of my friends.

And I said, what book would you recommend that I read? I’m a 15 year old asking this question, true story. And I kept being told you got to read. Hello, hello, hello. Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Radio Show. It’s an exciting time.

Also, I think a treacherous time, a spooky time also, but it’s always, you know, danger is a good time. Today, my guest is Clay Clark. And I was, I was, I went out with Tom Wheelwright to visit Clay with Eric Trump also. And the reason I want to talk to Clay this morning is a very important subject called study. And the reason I say that is things are changing so fast, and many people are completely missing the show. You know, things are changing at rapid, rapid, rapid speed.

Technology is changing. And so I went to Tulsa, well, again, with Tom Wheelwright and Eric Trump. And the thing I was so impressed about Clay is this word called study. I don’t know, you guys must be in your water or something, Clay, but boy, I was so, so impressed how big you guys are. But what really impressed me was you have this huge congregation. They’re all about guys your age.

They’re on fire. And you start your classes at five in the morning. Now, let me talk to you about study here. We show our books here. This is how I study. You know, this is the creature from Jekyll Island.

It’s on the Fed. And Clay’s doing the same thing. We study. So I go out to Clay’s place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s built this huge compound out there. And you guys start at 5 o ‘clock in the morning.

That’s not by Zoom. They drive there. They show up 5 o ‘clock, bright -haired, bushy -tailed, and all this. And they’re on fire. Your group is on fire. So that’s what I do.

This technology, you tell your group, I was so, so impressed because like I said, studies became a bad word.

I got into fights in my own company because our staff didn’t want to study anymore.

And I just, I don’t know how they can not do that. So Clay, anyway, welcome to the Rich Dad Radio Show.

That’s what I wanna talk to you about, is how do you do it? Five o ‘clock in the morning, you have hundreds of people showing up in your huge, huge, huge auditorium on your property to study. Anyway, welcome to the show, Clay, and what turns you on so much?

That’s what I wanna know. Give us a little bit about your background. My name is Karime Schofield, and the name of our company is Whistle While You Clean. I am Sophia Schofield. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and we service the tri -state. So Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana.

We were getting a phone call and we were like, why is someone calling our business line? That’s unusual. And we picked it up and it was a lead. I mean, it’s it’s been incredible, Clay. It’s we’ve had like we’ve gone from zero to like 100 percent growth. Like we’re like a full functioning company.

It’s great. Like we were blown away at how well we’re doing. So working with you guys, you guys have really taught us a lot about generating leads and pursuing our dream 100. So we have a list of customers that we want to market to. And so we’ve been making phone calls, we’ve been showing up in person. We’re trying to get near the businesses that they would visit if they were visiting like a hair salon or something.

And then we start calling them and we just start pursuing them. And then the other thing that we do is when we do do cleans, we take a lot of video testimonials and we post those to our website so other customers can see And then we also upload a lot of images of the things that we do. And so we’re also asking our clients for Google reviews after we’ve cleaned their houses. And so it’s this constant cycle of doing those things over and over and over again. I would say if you’re on the fence, go to one of Clay’s conferences.

They are hilarious. They’re fun. They’re educational. They’re so good that even my teenagers like them. And I would say don’t let fear hold you back. If you want to start a business, do the obvious thing and hire someone who knows how to run businesses.

If I wanted to get in shape, I’d hire a gym person, you know, a personal trainer. This is like the personal training for business. It has been absolutely amazing. I mean, our coach is encouraging. When he first met with us, he said, Do we want him to be like a drill sergeant with us? You know, what level of intensity do we want him to give us?

And I will say he is incredibly, incredibly encouraging all the time. And he just hits the same mark with us every single time. It’s very repetitive, but I feel like I think we both really learn a lot every time we sit down and have a conversation with him over the phone.

It’s it’s he keeps pushing us to go further and he can recognize when we’re afraid to do something and he’ll give us a little bit of grace. But that next week he’s drilling us again, like pushing us to go harder.

Our no brainer offer is we are offering your first clean for a dollar. And that sounds absolutely insane. It even sounded insane when I was talking over it with our business coach.

And I would tell you that that has generated some of our hugest clients.

I mean, that has been like a game changer because it opened up the door to

clients, more recommendations, more leads. And we were surprised how far that dollar clean got us.

How important has it been for you to work out that scripting?

Even though you offer a dollar for the first clean, how important has it been for you to nail that down?

It’s been really important, because it kind of, it hones in, so that you’re not just all over the place when you’re trying to explain what it is that you do.

And a lot of times, it’s like you’re a good person offering a good product, and you have integrity, and you want to communicate that. But when you go to communicate without a script or without practice, it’s just like, a mess coming out of your mouth, as opposed to having this, you know, honed in practice where you know what you’re going to say, you know how you’re going to say it, and you can almost expect better results when you do it that way.

Had you ever been an entrepreneur before starting this particular business? No, never.

Did you ever think about wanting to own your own business someday? Or what was the first time you thought, you know, maybe I would like to open my own business?

Absolutely.

I’ve probably been dreaming about it for about 10 years. Okay. And let me go to your daughter here. Uh, had you ever thought about wanting to team up and open your own business or was that something that you were maybe excited about or not, not so much? Well, for me, my parents would always listen to your podcast and business podcast. And as I started listening to them, I started realizing that I wanted to own a business.

www . whistlewhileyouclean . com. Honestly, the hardest thing was getting over the fear. It was the fear of the unknown. It was there was like a cloud of doubt that, you know, you can’t do this.

You’re going to fail. There was a few sleepless nights there when we did pull the trigger and join your team. and start the coaching process. Even my husband put a little bit of pressure on me from time to time because it was just absolutely scary to take that jump and actually start a business.
