Are you searching for how to dominate the Google search engine results? Well on today’s show, we teach you about the VISM. That’s V-I-S-M. For without a VISM, your digital marketing dreams will perish.

44
And if you don’t know, now you know.

7
You could be anywhere doing a lot of different things, but you chose to be here. And you chose to go somewhere you said, man, I can go and I can get better. I can go and I can learn, I can go and I can maybe go from where I’m at to where I want to go. But one of the most important things that you will ever do or not do in your life is to value and seek wise counsel.

1
To be coached hard means you have to be willing to be uncomfortable.

18
Some shows don’t need a celebrity narrator to introduce the show, but this show does. In a world filled with endless opportunities, why would two men who have built 13 multi-million dollar businesses altruistically invest five hours per day to teach you the best practice business systems and moves that you can use? Because they believe in you. And they have a lot of time on their hands. bottom, now they’re here. It’s the Thrive Time Show starring the former U.S. Small Business Administration’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Clay Clark, and the entrepreneur trapped inside an optometrist’s body, Dr. Robert Zunich. Two men, eight kids, co-created by two different women, 13 multi-million dollar businesses.

18
million dollar businesses.

59
That’s why I’m alive, so if you see my wife and kids, please tell them hi.

36
It’s the C and G up on your radio, and now 3, 2, 1, here we go!

1
We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, and yes.

1
Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29, 18. Where there is no vision, the people perish. Now let me read the actual verse to you. It says, Where there is no vision, the people perish, but he that keepeth the law happy is he.

1
Proverbs 29, 18. What does that have to do with today’s show? Well, I believe where there is no vism, your digital marketing dreams will perish. Where there is no vism, V-I-S-M, V-I-S-M-V, stands for video reviews. Where there are no video reviews, people don’t believe you. Images, you’ve got to add images to your website.

1
S, search engine content. And M, more reviews. You can never have enough reviews. And so we have a man on today’s show and his incredible wife who are sort of the strongest implementers of this outside of, I would say, Elephant in the Room or Spurl CPAs up there in Canada. And Devin, at the conference, you got a chance to meet a lot of our clients that are having

1
huge wins right now.

15
Oh yeah.

1
And you’ve helped build a lot of their websites. Correct. But let’s talk about this for a second. If I’m out there listening right now and you say, Clay, give me an example. Okay, let’s do it. I’m going to do a search right now for, let’s do a search for Tulsa men’s haircuts.

1
Let’s do a search for Tulsa men’s haircuts. I’m doing a search for it right now. Okay. And let’s do a search right now for Joplin gyms. We’ll do a search for those two. Side by side comparison.

1
Here we go. So you’ve got Joplin gyms and you’ve got Tulsa men’s haircuts. Those are the two search terms. I want everybody to search right now for Tulsa men’s haircuts and do a search for Joplin gyms. All right.

1
So when you search for Tulsa men’s haircuts, why does the elephant in the room, my business, come up top twice? Why? In the first three results, why am I two of those results? That’s a good question. Perhaps if you don’t have a vism, you don’t have a vision, you don’t show up. People can’t find you, they can’t see you online. Think about this for a second. Why do my videos, so you see my website comes up on the first two of the three listings,

1
then underneath that you see Yelp, so I’m two of the first four, then I have another video, another video, and another video. So I have one, two, three, four, five. Five of the first seven listings are me. Then there’s another Yelp, and then there’s me. Well, that’s a lot.

1
That’s six. And then there’s more me. That’s seven. And then there’s… So I’m seven of the first 12 listings in the search result. Well, why?

1
Because I have a vism. Now, my job is to make things simple and repeatable that are complex. So somebody out there, Devin, might say, well, what books should I read to validate this idea? All right, so Devin, what I’m gonna do

1
is I’m gonna read off the book and I’m gonna try to read it nice and slow, like a pro, as opposed to super fast, like an ass. And that way the listeners can take notes and find these books, okay? There’s one book called Search Engine for Dummies, written by Bruce Clay.

1
That’s a great book for everyone to read. He’s not a charlatan. It’s called Search Engine for Dummies. For a good time, read Search Engine for Dummies. Two, read Get Rich Click by Mark Ostrowski. Get Rich Click by Mark Ostrowski, the only internet marketing book endorsed by Steve

1
Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple. The co-founder of Apple is doing okay financially and he endorses get rich click how Google works by Eric Schmidt how Google works by Eric Schmidt how Google works by Eric Schmidt get that get that book when you get that book get yourself the retargeting playbook by Adam Burke

1
By Adam Burke the retargeting Playbook. All right, get that book. The next book, I encourage you to read an incredible book here called The Art of SEO. The Art of SEO. And you go, Clay, where are you getting this list? This list is in my head, and I’m trying to go at a slow enough of a pace so that everybody

1
out there who can type at a decent speed per minute can type along with us here. So let’s… Devin, can you help me review the books we just recommended again for the listeners out

30
there?

31
Oh yeah.

43
Go nice and slow.

1
Here we go. I’ll be your echo guy. It’s like we’re like the rap group back in the day, Run DMC. We’re like one guy’s rapping and the other guy kind of echoes it. So you do your thing and I’ll just kind of bring some echoes.

15
Number one, Search Engine for Dummies by Bruce Clay. Number two, Get Rich Clicked by Mark Lustrosky. Number three, How Google Works by Eric Schmich. Number four, The Retargeting Playbook by Adam Burke. And then number five, Why am I saying this?

1
That right there, I just gave you guys about 3,000 pages to read. I feel like if I’m a really good teacher, now I want to make sure the listeners get this. Devin, we had a conference where we had a lot of people attend. We were able to get a lot of, we had 250 people there, 275 people there. The vast majority of the business owners who attend have become multi-millionaires since

1
working with us, which is cool.

13
It’s awesome.

1
Because a lot of them weren’t multi-millionaires. Yeah. Deb, what’s cool is you’ve seen, how long have you been working with me now?

15
It’s been a little over five years.

1
You’ve seen five of my 13 years of business coaching. Yeah. That’s pretty cool for you to see the people we first started working with and see their success stories. Corey Mentor and Dr. Edwards, a lot of people were around before you joined the team. But isn’t that kind of fun to see people actually implement this stuff?

12
Yeah, it’s really cool.

1
Now, Albert Einstein says, if you can’t, again, I just, he says, if you can’t teach it, he says, if you can’t explain, let me give you the quote here, this is the quote, he says, if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough. So I got to thinking, you know, years ago, 13 years ago, I’m a really bad teacher. Because I would be up there teaching about canonical compliance and WordPress, the founder Matt Mullenweg of WordPress and the connection between WordPress and Google,

1
and Bill Campbell being the coach for the founders of Google as well as the founders for Facebook, and the connection between Amazon and all this, and people would leave going, I don’t know what that was, but I don’t get it. And I’m going, no, no, no, it’s easy,

1
you see, and I would teach it again, they wouldn’t get it. And so I have been really thinking hard about this idea, and I’m just gonna tell you this again. Where there is no vism, your digital marketing dreams will perish. What does that mean? It means when you have no vism, there is no visibility.

1
There is no vision. People can’t find you. It’s like you’re hiding your business. So what I wanted to do today is I want to bring on a guest who is doing it the best so that you can see, does he pass the test? So let’s talk about this, okay? Video reviews. Step one for the video reviews.

1
You can’t be terrible. Your service cannot be terrible. I mean, you can learn this system and go out there and try to get video reviews, but you can’t make people leave you a positive review if your company’s terrible. If your company sucks and you’re not selling vacuums, that’s not a good thing. So Charles, at Colawfitness.com, you and your wife have designed an incredible experience that makes women and men feel comfortable

1
in the gym environment. It’s well lit, it’s clean, it’s nice. The people who work there are kind. What would happen to Colaw Fitness today if you went out there and tried to implement this system, VISM, getting those video reviews, images, search engine content, more reviews.

1
If your service wasn’t good, what would happen?

4
Well, when you’re showcasing your product, if the product isn’t really good, or the service that you have as well as the product, it wouldn’t look good. So online, if you’re posting video reviews and testimonials coming in every day, and you don’t actually have a good product, a good service, a good-looking club, happy customers. You can only get so much content off of a poor service. You can probably get a few friends to get fake reviews, but to get thousands and thousands,

4
even tens of thousands of reviews like you’ve done with some of these companies, you’ve got to have a good product or service. You team up with them and they follow the vism and it makes them even grow more.

1
717 reviews right now in Joplin and batting second, batting second in the Search Engine Olympics is Planet Fitness coming in with a whopping 246 reviews. Now how can a company as long, I mean Planet Fitness has thousands of locations. Yes. I mean seriously, don’t they have over a thousand locations? 1,800 or 1,900.

1
How can they be that big and not, how are they not able to keep up with you on reviews? I mean, again, how is it possible?

4
Well, I think they have a lot more money, I don’t know, and they’ve got some good systems. They’ve been around a lot longer and they have a lot more investor money and we actually have to be a better product, better service, really diligent on our systems a lot harder than they do.

1
Your team is so disciplined and doing a great job. Now people want to focus on what do you say and how do you get reviews. I’m not going to focus on that today. What I want to focus on today, because that part is easy, you have to do a great job. You have to. Yes.

1
I think that’s where people, it’s like we as a people, as a culture, for whatever reason, we want to skip that part. We want to just skip it and go, yeah, but what questions do I ask? Every industry is different, but essentially you’re saying, hey, what’s your name? How did you hear about the company? What do you like most about the service?

1
What makes it different? How would you describe it to somebody else? That kind of thing. But people want to focus on that and not focus on the quality. And Devin, you’ve seen this before.

15
Oh, yeah.

1
Do you remember the contractor who was a client back in the day when you were first starting out who screwed me and used to screw clients perpetually? Yes. I didn’t know he was screwing me until one day we were in a meeting and he says, this is so good, he says, hey, I have a question. I said, well, how come I’m not ranking higher in Google?

1
I said, what do you mean? He says, it’s like, I mean, I said, well, you got to get video reviews, V-I-S-M, okay, I’m going to get video reviews, new images on the site, search engine content, and more Google reviews. And he says, yeah, but it’s not working. And I said, it’s not working?

1
Well, what’s going on? So I’m thinking it’s a technical issue. So I don’t know if you remember this, but John was looking at the map and why isn’t the map ranking and why, you know, why isn’t the reviews sticking? All these kinds of things. I’m thinking it’s a technical problem.

1
So then, after looking into it, and with great enthusiasm, we go back into the website and I see, and dude, Charles, it’s the roughest inbox I’ve ever seen. Like people are filling out the form and they’re saying, hey, such and such, I paid you $80,000 to replace my windows at my lake house, and I’m currently receiving cancer treatment for brain cancer, and I would like it if you’d at least respond to me to tell me the status so I know you have at least completely ghosted. This is my 12th email.

1
This is my 12th call.” Or the next one would say, it would be like, hey, you never did finish my kitchen countertop. I would like to get that finished. When’s a good time? These are nice people. You can see when they’re filling out the form, they’re becoming increasingly hostile.

1
When you reach out to a contractor, and by the way, he screwed me right at the time that I discovered that he was screwing other people. He screwed me big time. He took about $100,000 of my money. Never paid me back, about a hundred grand. So we’re doing a big build out of the offices and he took the final installment payment

1
and then ghosted. And he’d been a client of mine for about a year. And then, so apparently he took the money that clients paid him and would go to a casino and just spend it. So you’re paying him to like remodel your house and then he takes the money. Later on he told me that’s what he did.

1
That’s how he apologized. He said, I have a gambling addiction.

47
I wanted to apologize.

1
So he can no longer be your coach.

28
That’s it.

58
I mean, seriously.

1
But I’m saying this. He used to say, I don’t understand why people won’t leave me good reviews. Well, it turns out people hate you. And then too, Google found out that all the reviews he received were from like people that he had paid to leave a review that he hadn’t actually done work for. So let’s talk about this for a second, the ethics of getting reviews.

1
Now, we live in a world, Charles, you know this, where not everyone is going to like us. So, I would speculate there’s somebody out there listening right now who probably works at Planet Fitness who says, Clay Clark, I hate you. And listen, it’s okay for you to hate me. There are other podcasts out there.

1
Charles loves you. Amber loves you. They all love you. They’ve got no hate. Now, me, on the other hand, I like to coach from a place of hate for the other team. If you’re not my client, I want you to lose.

1
It starts that way. It’s like the old Lakers versus the Celtics. I do my best coaching when I view you as the enemy. It’s like the Knicks versus the Bulls. I have to be, that’s how I have to start. I can’t do a deal where I can’t see your point.

1
If you’re not my client, I want you to lose, which is why Aaron Antus worked so hard for years to get me to coach him, because I was violently coaching his competition. But people can write things online that are not true. So, as an example, we have some people that have come to a conference and 725 of them

1
are happy. But, we had one guy who came to the conference who smelled a lot like a dead animal. He did the whole New York City cab driver thing. And by the way, if you live in New York City and you’re a cab driver and you’re offended by that, come on. Even if you smell good, you have to know your other cabby friends don’t smell good.

1
This guy smelled like the interior of an armpit. This guy is rough. He smelled like onions and armpit combined. He sat in the middle of the conference. Devin, you know there’s about 100 people there. His phone… How incredibly distracting is it when someone’s phone goes off?

15
Incredibly.

1
You hear this guy. The phone’s ringing. It’s going off like, do-do-do-do-do-do-do. He picks it up and he just starts talking full speed on a sales call. Like he’s just going for it and he’s not like stepping out or ducking out or he’s just like yeah, how can I help you?

1
Okay, yeah, well let me tell you. And he’s like going for it. Let me tell you the difference between us and the other guys. So everyone was distracted for the whole session. So it’s probably the final five minutes of the session. So I broke early and I said guys we’ll be back in 15 minutes, we’ll get restarted, feel

1
free to caffeinate, I’ll be back. I do that a lot at the conferences if there’s somebody weird. I try to do it in the first one or two sessions. I’m sure you saw me, Devin, do that session a little bit. So then what I do is I go up to the guy and I say, hey, if you want to make calls in the conference room, you could do that.

1
You know, you could do it. It’d be okay. And he says, well, no, I’d prefer just to be out here. You know, that’s why I drove here. You know, I paid to be here, you know. And I said, okay, but I just need you to kind of stay off that phone, you know, be off the

1
phone because, and again, I’m hosting a conference here. And because apparently my teammates had tried to interact with him and he just wasn’t having it. So next session he does it again. This time it’s like, I don’t know what he’s doing. He’s dealing with a customer service issue or something, but it’s like very disruptive.

1
So on the third session, I pulled him aside and I said, Hey, I think it’s best if I refund you, double what you spent, you know, you bought a ticket for $250. Let me just give you $500 and you can head back.” And he says, what, my money’s not good? I said, well, even $1,000. I just need you to go because it’s getting bad here.

1
Well, he decides that he’s going to devote the rest of his life to writing bad things

39
about me.

1
And so now, to this day, if you Google me, you go on to page two or three, you’re going to find this guy who’s like, Clay Clark is a fraud. He scams people. Well, if it’s a fraud, it’s a pretty long fraud. I’ve been working pretty hard. I’ve been self-employed for 23 years.

1
This is a pretty long Ponzi scheme here. I’d have to pay a lot of people. I’d have to pay Shaw Homes, the largest home builder in Oklahoma. I’d have to pay somebody with a lot of reputation to, I guess, lie about the fact that they’ve doubled their company. Or I’d have to pay Thomas with full package

1
media to make up his growth. I’d have to be doing a lot, and then I’d have to pay him to go ahead and buy the Tesla he has to scam everybody. There’d be a lot of moving parts if I am in fact a scam, but people can say that. Video reviews are powerful because they’re a validator that you can’t fake.

4
Charles, talk to me about the importance of getting video reviews. We found a lot of people when they go online and type in Google, like 90% of consumers, they’ll go to the Google to look for a product or service. If they’re looking for haircuts, they’ll type in haircuts in the city and boom, your business comes in. Or for like gyms, they’ll type in gyms Bartlesville or gyms Topeka, gyms Joplin, and I’ll pop

4
up right in the top and I have videos that are right up there at the top or right close to the top. People love to click on videos and they can see that the videos are decent quality but they’re authentic they’re not paid actors. These are real people caught in the gym talking about their experience, talking about the results, talking about what they like and that type of stuff I think really really shows to the consumer and then then when they get done with that video, we have so many videos

4
We have hundreds and hundreds of videos that just keep populating next up next up and they’re like, wow It’s got to have some sort of truth. Even if there was five fake reviews. They can’t fake hundreds or a thousand reviews or video reviews and they can’t fake thousands like you used to say, you know, like How could you fake thousands of positive reviews. So it’s just like a landslide of positivity that they can quickly see when 90% of consumers go to Google that you are a valid business, you’re carrying on good ethical work, majority,

4
vast 99.9% of consumers are very happy with the product or service, and that you’ve really helped us. You saw that we were already a good business and say, hey, I can really work with you. But you have to be ethical, you have to truly care about your product or service, making sure that that person is wanting to give the best customer service, the best quality product at a really competitive price point.

4
When you’re already there as a business owner and you really care about people, Clay can do a great job. His team does a great job of growing you and scaling you, but you can’t be selling snake oil and fake stuff. But he can really promote your product, get it out there, and you’ll even grow faster. It’s been a huge game changer for us.

1
I have Devin on the show today. One, because Devin is like honest Abe almost. He cannot tell a lie. He’s a proud member of Ramah Church, right Devin?

15
Destiny Church.

1
Destiny Church, I’m sorry.

15
And you’ve been married for how long now? It’s 11 years now.

1
You live behind Ramah though? Right next to it. But you go to Destiny Church? I do. Do you feel any cognitive dissonance there? Do you feel like you should go to Ramah just because you are near?

14
No.

15
I appreciate their lights though.

12
They’re beautiful.

1
Real good.

43
That’s shady of you.

28
I’m just kidding.

1
So you can validate this and keep the camera on him, Kendall, because I’m going to ask the questions. Look right into his beady eyes. Look into his eyes. We had a client back in the day for about 30 days who, remember how he pretended to be a doctor?

15
Oh, yes. Yes, doctor. Do you remember this?

37
Yes.

1
Do you remember this? Yes.

57
And what kind of doctor did he pretend to be?

1
We won’t mention his name or the city he’s in, but just so the listeners can have some context here.

14
He was a testosterone doctor, HGH, all that kind of stuff.

1
But he said he was a doctor. Right. Now, here’s what’s crazy. Kendall, I want to talk to the listeners here. This is powerful. He says he’s a doctor.

1
Now, usually when you talk to a doctor, they’re usually… I’ll just tell you the make and model of doctors and this is not always true, but usually they’re not super athletic Usually the good Lord Gives all this different tools and as a general rule the guy with the hugely developed mind is usually not I could decathlon guy not always but just the vast majority of the time I’m not usually not you don’t see like freak athletes who’ve spent a huge amount of their time into fitness

1
Also being great doctors or vice versa, usually. So it’s kind of a little bit of a warning. Two, doctors tend to be very prompt in being on time, and homeboy was never on time. Never. At all. Three, people that are doctors typically don’t avoid telling you where they went to medical

1
school. They wear it like a badge of honor. So I’m saying to myself, wait a minute. You know the guy from, what is it, CSI? Where he’s like, you know the redhead guy from CSI where he’s always like, well, it appears as though the body…

1
I know! And he always has an epiphany. You see what he does there? He’s always like, well, it’s like, it’s Saturday, where was I on Saturday? He always has an epiphany. So I’m doing that in the meeting.

1
I’m going, so you don’t want to tell me where you went to medical school. You are late. You’re really, really into fitness and sports. You’re not a doctor.” And I said that to him, and he goes, what? What?

1
I said, you’re not a doctor. You’re not a doctor. So I said, is that true? He goes, hey brother, we’ve got to keep this between you and me, okay? And I’m going, what? He goes, I’m a doctor to them.

1
And I said, to who? He goes, to people who buy the stuff. And I said, well, I’ll tell you what, let me go check on something real fast, I’ll come right back. So I go out and I do a backlink report. And I don’t know if I showed this to you guys, but all of his backlinks were from pornography

1
websites. So he was running ads on pornography sites. That’s where he sold his stuff. And so I said, hey, I have a question for you, just so I can really help you. Just tell me between you and me. Are the steroids you sell, are those like synthetic things made in China?

1
He goes, oh yeah. It’s like 10 cents on the dollar. Now you never know what’s in those things. But I mean, it’s been independently. And I’m going, so you, and do you do a lot of overseas banking?

51
And he goes, yeah.

1
So, and I’m true story, and Paul Hood can verify this. So Paul, he goes, he says, “‘Clay, do you recommend a good accountant?’ I said, absolutely. And I’ll have him do a report of some things. I said, right now though, what you wanna sell?

1
And he wanted us to run ads on adult websites for him. I said, I don’t think we’re a good fit, you know, so I’m just going to refund you right now I think. And then you can find someone who specializes in more digital online marketing, you know. And he goes, are you saying that I’m a scammer or something or what’s your deal? And I’m like, yeah, you know.

1
Well he goes and meets with Paul Hood and he’s asking Paul what the best way is to deal with the IRS when they’re coming after him for tax evasion? Over like a multiple year period of time and Paul’s letting him know like well one you got to quit doing that To where’s where’s the money says well? It’s all in the Caymans and it’s all and you know Latvia and the Caymans and so Paul calls me like We’ve got a bogey on our hands. Well it turns out this guy Comes in again for another meeting. I don’t even I’m not he’s not scheduled now.

1
But he is pissed that I will not take his money. You saw this guy, Devin. You saw the guy. So now he’s saying, well, hey, here’s the deal. Did you know on Fiverr you can just buy reviews? I’m going, you can’t just buy reviews.

1
Anyway, he’s like, I don’t need you guys.

21
I’m just going to… His filter is so messed up.

1
It is. It is. And so anyway, long story short, I think, and I’m going to do a search real quick for something. Kendall, don’t look what I’m searching for, okay? Amen, amen. God is real.

1
He is not in the top three on Google now. He’s not. He’s not in the top three on Google right now. But what’s crazy, Devin, is that we sat there with him in the first couple meetings and we showed him the moves to do, and he implemented and got to the page one of Google. And I felt bad.

1
And Devin, right before a client usually cancels, what do they normally change?

15
All of their passwords.

1
Yes! And he changed all of his passwords so that I couldn’t take his site down or remove the search engine content. But Google caught on to him. And it turns out Google is pretty smart.

15
This just in.

1
And now he’s not ranking anymore and he couldn’t get video reviews because nobody who’s honest would give him a review because he’s so shady. If he had any customers at all, they wouldn’t leave. So a video review is powerful.

1
V-I-S-M. Get those video reviews. The second, images. Images. Let’s talk about images for a second. Images if you search for Joplin gyms or you search for Tulsa men’s haircuts.

1
Let’s search right now. Let’s all do a search. Devon, pull it up here so that Charles can see we’ve achieved one goal today. One of my clients in Canada today told me about this and I’m excited. He said, I had him Google search it, Josh Spurl in Canada, and he said it’s true. Google search Bill Belichick fan.

1
Because I said, hey, I’m showing right now, when you search for Bill Belichick fan, I am now the top in the world. Is this true for you? And he says, yes, because the Canadians Google search is a little bit different. Devin, there it is.

15
I’m double verifying an incognito window.

1
And when you search for Bill Belichick number one fan, look at my face coming up top in Google. Bill Belichick number one fan. My face is all over the place.

56
Yes!

55
Yes, Billy B!

22
Yes!

1
Billy B, you know I’ve been chasing you for seven years, Billy B. And I know you didn’t film the Bengals illegally. No, you didn’t, Billy B. You’re my guy. So here’s the deal. Is images, it turns out, Devin, people look for images. You know what a lot of people search for when they search for me, Devin?

1
I’ve been finding this out recently. Clay Clark wife. And do you know why that is?

49
Because you talk about your wife.

1
Why do people look for the images of my wife? What is that?

21
Because, like, they want to probably understand who she is.

1
What kind of sick freak would marry a guy like me? That’s probably a bigger, darker issue. So there’s an article, Devon, I want you to put a link to it. I want to show Charles and Amber so they can see this graph. This is so powerful, folks. Powerful!

1
It’s power! Today’s show is power! This is like the Death Star show. The article is called, How Google Retains More Than 90% of Market Share. How Google Retains Over 90% of Market Share. This article right here, this is powerful.

1
You want a show that’s applicable?

41
Uh-huh.

1
Now we’ve got this little graph here. Devin, would you call this a pie chart? Is that what you want to call this? Would you call this a pie chart? Yeah, it’s a pie chart.

15
Okay, a pie chart.

1
And it shows right now that 62.6% of all searches are done via Google without images, just Google itself. 22.6% of searches are Google images. So between the Google search and the images, homies, that’s 84%, 85% of all searches are done between the images and the non-images. Again, if you’re searching on Google right now, that’s 62.6% of people do that. But 22.6% of people click on the images button, then they search. Who knew that? I did. So YouTube, 4.3% of people use YouTube. And 1.3% of people now go to the maps and they just sort for the highest rated, which represents

1
an aggregate total of 90.8% of all searches are done using a Google entity. So let’s talk There is no vism, your online visibility will perish. Images. You got to get images. Now Charles, getting images. Be hard to take images of KOLOF Fitness if your gym was nasty.

1
You wouldn’t want to show it to people. So you can see why Google would rank you high. Now let’s go back to the non-doctor. Oh, this guy. I asked him to get images. And Devin, did you ever see the images

1
that he provided to me?

15
I don’t believe so.

51
Oh, my gosh.

1
They were definitely from an iStock or from somebody else’s website. And they were dirty pictures. Like, they were dirty. It was like, not like, it was like, somewhere between adult content

1
and the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. Somewhere in that line, without complete nudity and that’s what he brought to me and I’m like are these your pictures? Oh no, I ganked them offline. Ganked them. Now Devin, let’s talk about how Google sees images. Google sees things as zeros and ones. This is called binary code. People don’t know this but the Internet is built

1
of binary code. It’s zeros and ones. So Devin, can Google tell if you copy an image?

15
It can.

36
How?

15
Each image has data called metadata that is embedded in the image that tells you all kinds of information. It can even tell you what kind of camera the image was shot on.

1
And when it was shot on.

35
When it was shot.

15
True. And where.

1
And where.

15
It’s wild.

1
What’s what?

15
It’s wild.

1
It is wild. And this is why you’ve got to be careful of when and where you take images,

39
because they know.

1
So images, it would be hard to get images of things that were for optimization if you didn’t keep your gym clean. Charles, you’re not embarrassed to put your images up there. And you say, like, take them, have them, people, take real images in your club, real people taking real images, uploading them there.

4
And so that’s what happens, and that’s why we rank high, and that’s why it works.

1
V-I-S-M. Vism. Think about that for a second.

41
Vism.

1
V-I-S-M. Vism. It’s so important that everybody gets this idea. Do you remember the song Saturday Night? There, Devin, do you remember that song Saturday Night?

15
Maybe if I heard a bit of it.

48
Really?

15
Yeah. I think I would. I’m usually good once I hear songs.

1
Okay, I’m going to cue it up here for you. I’m trying to turn this V-I-S-M into some kind of chant here for you. Let me cue it up here. Here we go.

36
This is from the movie So I Married, Nack’s Murder.

1
Somehow we’ve got to turn this into some kind of chant, because it’s got to be a V-I-S-M.

30
That’s where your online success begins.

36
It’s got to get stuck in your head.

1
And because of neural pathways, I’ve got to say this a lot. Because somebody right now, you are at a truck stop, you’re pulling over right now, you’re going to McDonald’s, you’re going somewhere, and someone’s saying, sir, do you want fries with that? And you just turned me down. You turned it down, or your wife or your husband doesn’t like business, and they’re like, could

1
you turn it down? And you’re distracted. And distraction will keep you from taking the action that you need to take. And this could make you millions. Charles, what would happen if you didn’t have a website at all?

4
No website. You would have less of an online presence pretty dramatically.

1
Would it be bad?

21
Yeah, it would not be good.

1
Devin, what’s it like to have a website that people can’t find?

15
It’s like having a really nice billboard in the woods.

1
In the woods! In the woods. A billboard in the woods? Is it a billboard in the woods?

54
Think about that for a second.

1
Awkward. Yes it is, because you know, because what happened is you built it yourself on Wix. You built it yourself on the WordPress. You’ve asked someone who knows you to build it because they’re family, and they’ve tried their best. But, where there is no vism, your online presence will perish you need video reviews Devon. That’s good. We need the video reviews

1
You got to post those beasts on your Google map and on YouTube why?

15
Because that’s just more more places that Google can find Your videos and people can find it People are gonna search your Google map look at your reviews, and then also be able to see those video reviews right there.

1
Now, what did you say I’m searching?

15
And then YouTube. YouTube is one of the fastest growing search engines that is coming up. People don’t think of YouTube as a search engine necessarily.

1
Oh, but it is, baby.

9
Oh, it is.

4
How much was it on that pie graph?

21
What did it say?

15
Oh, let’s pull it up.

1
I’m pulling it up here. Pull it up here. 4.3% of all searches are done via YouTube. 4.3% YouTube. By the way, did I tell you more than five times today about how good the Carl’s Jr. Beyond the Meat Burger was?

15
I heard it at least twice.

1
Have you tried it yet? I have not tried it yet. I suck at marketing. I want to order some tomorrow for you guys. I think I’m going to do it. I think at the next conference, I want it on Saturday.

1
Get the Beyond the Meat Burgers for everybody as opposed to what we normally do. Have you been tempted at all to check this out?

15
A little bit on the Whopper. I’ve seen more advertisement for that one.

1
My wife is really into health, you know, and that’s awesome. I’m excited about that. And she really likes the vegan stuff, you know. And a lot of it tastes like wood, you know. You know? And, like, so I went in there expecting nothing, and it tasted as good as a burger or better.

1
It was really good. Wow. Yeah. But I’m telling you this right now. How does this relate to Internet marketing? The average person, when you heard that, you immediately thought, that’s gross, you’re

1
wrong. That’s fine. And a lot of you are thinking right now, there’s no way that Internet marketing can be this simple. Charles, somebody wants to make it more complicated. You know what I mean, though.

21
Oh yeah, oh yeah.

1
When you give people fitness tips, okay? So let’s say you’re sitting down with somebody right now and you’re giving them diet tips and they’re sincere, okay? And somehow they got the Charles Killaw special, something happened, I’m not sure, but somehow Amber says, Charles, you want to train a one-on-one client? Okay, fine, it’s a thousand bucks a session.

1
So they want, you want, because you don’t train people anymore as a personal trainer. But you talk to Amber and Amber goes, okay, fine, three sessions a week, $1,000 per session. And all the money goes to Amber and the Amber Foundation. So it’d probably take $2,000 per session, but there’s got to be some number eventually where you’re like, fine, okay, you can take a client on. But you sit down with them and they’re sincere and they say, Charles, tell me specifically

1
the meal that I can eat. I just need one meal. What is the one meal that everyone could eat and just drop, on average, you know, 10, 15 pounds the first 45 days?

21
Just lean meat and vegetables and that’s it, and water.

1
And then they want, but they want to make it more complicated, do they not?

4
Yeah, if you, they just do that for 30 days, almost anybody will lose at least 15 to 20

1
pounds. But don’t people want to make it more complicated?

15
Don’t I get a cheat day?

21
Yeah, they want to, yes.

1
They want it to be more complicated though.

4
They do. They want to have it as complicated as possible. I’ve learned the best way that you can train a client is to make it very, very simple. If they act confused, then you just have to create their meals for the week and it just falls in line with the simplicity of it. It’s kind of like youth coaching.

4
You give them simple principles and then you just have to make it, if they are wanting it to be more complex, here’s your actual action items and this, this, this, this, this. And it’s basically your same vism to dominate Google.

1
Yeah, this is what’s interesting is that our relationship, as you guys continue to scale, you’re opening up two more locations, I believe, this year. Yes, sir. And as you guys scale, our relationship will change because it becomes, it’s always about how you get your team to execute it. Yes.

1
And what I’ve found with bigger companies I’ve worked with, like Oxifresh, you’ve got 400 locations. Matt Klein came and spoke at the conference. He’s great. With 400 locations, the biggest issue is how do you convince 400 people to all do the right thing. It’s more about that than coming up with a new strategy. It’s more about how do you get people to do the strategy. And teaching a group of 400

1
people to do four things could be tough. And it’s a challenge because on today’s show we’re trying to teach a half million people to do four things. So I’m going to hammer this home, but VISM stands for Video Reviews Images. Now, images. You’ve got to name the images properly.

1
Devin, if I wanted to optimize right now for Tucson men’s haircuts, what should I name my images?

15
You should name your image Tucson-mens-haircuts, and then whatever the image is about. So if it’s somebody cutting hair then you would say man cutting hair or something of that.

1
And then you got to add the image attributes. Correct. What is that?

15
Isn’t it like the meta description for images? You can add a meta description for the image. The biggest part is the alt attribute once the

1
image is embedded. The alt attribute. Alt attribute. Talk to me about that. You just used the word alt. I think a lot of people are saying, what are you talking about? Are you talking about the old Sega Genesis game, Altered Beast?

15
The alt attribute is the text that will show up if the image cannot load. So if someone’s on a phone out in the woods, and they have really slow internet connection, they’re trying to load your website, sometimes those bigger images will take a little bit longer to load. And so while that image is loading, instead of just having a big square there, by adding

15
alt text, it then gives someone an idea of what that image is supposed to look like.

1
And also it gives blind users the ability to see in their mind’s eye what something is. Exactly.

15
Because it’s described to them.

1
True. So, let’s get back into this. V, Devin, what does V stand for? Video reviews. Come on now, get those video reviews every day, Devin, every day. Every day. So you got to get video reviews every day, homies. Now, images, name the image properly. Do we got to get images every day, Devin, every day? Every day. Because Google wants consistency. That’s right. Consistency, because

1
consistency is where the success be. I’m telling you, think about this for a second. Inconsistent people, not cool, not successful, not trustworthy, not promotable, not the kind of businesses you want to do business with, inconsistent people. And Google looks for the consistency of your business. The heartbeat of your business is the consistency. Charles, you guys smashed it up there at Co-Law Fitness.

1
I would argue this, because I’ve worked with so many fitness people before you. And by the way, I work with some great fitness people now. Brett Denton with Cavell Fit. Awesome, awesome guy. Clint Howard, awesome. Luke Owens, awesome.

1
You, awesome. But man, I’ve worked with some fitness people that just can’t seem… It’s so ironic though. They cannot handle the consistency of online marketing and these are the same people and Devin you’ve seen this they can’t handle the consistency of actually showing up for their personal training sessions I hear that’s important Charles what would happen if you you because you started your business back in the day by

1
doing personal training yes what would happen if you ghosted a client one time

4
Oh quit fire you you’re done well if you if you like work with them for two years and you happen to miss, they’re like, what happened? That’s so rare.

21
But yeah, you can’t miss clients.

1
Now the next part of the VISM, the V-I-S, V-I-S, search engine content. You’ve got to create original search engine content. And Devin, if you’ll put point A and B under here just so our listeners have it. You’ve got to create original, relevant HTML content, original, relevant, hypertext, markup language content. The most words about the subject.

1
Thrive Nation, how many shows a week do we put out for five million mega points? How many shows a week does John allow me to put out? Take a guess, take a, what do you think it is? What’s that number? What’s that number?

1
Nine. However, sometimes I do a show and I don’t feel like it. I mean, I feel like helping you, the listener, but I don’t feel good. You know, why? Well, as an example, we just had our Christmas party on top of the largest building, or the tallest building in Oklahoma, called the CityPlex Tower there on a Saturday night.

1
And Devin, were you there? I was there. I remember you there, being there. Did you have a good time?

15
It was great.

32
It was a lot of fun.

1
What was your highlight?

15
For me it’s always the Cupid Shuffle or any dance that tells me what to do.

1
So you like the ones that tell you what to do?

15
Yeah, I’m too white.

1
Well, DJ Aubrey was up there DJing. He was having a good time. I didn’t finish really wrapping up my night until about 2 a.m., which is usually one hour before I normally wake up. So, I was saying to myself, Self, you have committed to do an interview with Clint Howard the morning at 6.

1
You have committed to interview with another guy based in Atlanta. And I’m like, I gotta, so this is a little audio from the party. This is our crowd. They’re all cheering for Aubrey, they’re just loving it. They’re having a great time. There’s a lot of… I mean, this is Zee dancing versus Santa Claus.

1
Justin Wren. I mean, they’re having a… That’s Zee challenging Justin Wren to a dance contest. This is our team dancing to the Hot Stepper. I mean… And you got three hundred and fifty people going strong all night.

36
That’s what we do.

1
So I had to do a podcast the next morning. And I didn’t feel like it right so I went ahead and recorded it anyway but this is all the first 10 seconds of the show so you can hear what it’s like when Joan Rivers hosts the show because I had I had I mean I serious I had nothing left man I was I was absolutely this is me talking here let me see I’ll cue it up

1
Oh Jason it is the day after the Thrive Time Show conference, I went to bed slightly before I woke up today. And we’re breaking down nine Napoleon Hill notable quotas. If you’re kind of dragging today and you need to pick me up, this show is going to be the ultimate, but you do it. You do it because you say you’re going to do it.

18
There is no try, just do. No try.

29
No, no, no.

1
What does that mean? Charles, what’s the difference? I mean, you’re kind of our broda. What does it mean to do versus try? And I want to get your wife’s take on this because there’s a big difference between doing and trying.

21
Well, doing it is just basically separating your emotions and taking action. Your emotions at certain points will take you hostage and derail you from what you really want to do.

12
If you just take action over emotion, that’s kind of my take.

1
Well, I want to mic up your wife here real quick. We might want to definitely lower the mic for her a little bit here. But you guys just went on a cruise as a couple, and I don’t know if you’re weird like me, Amber, where you struggle with vacations, but I think you’re normal. I think you like to travel on cruises. Was it tough to want to come back?

13
It was.

1
What did you like most about the cruise?

13
No work.

1
No work? Yeah. And the view of the ocean? Yeah, it’s pretty. Did you have any highlights? Our highlight was not working. What islands did you enjoy the most or sites did you

13
enjoy most? We stopped at three different countries and… Where’d you go? We went to Roatan, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. So which one of those was your favorite? We’ve been to all of them before. I would say Roatan is probably my favorite, but this time we stayed on the boat. We just saw them from the boat, which was great.

1
Really?

13
You stayed on the boat? We didn’t even get off the boat. We did get off the boat in Cozumel, and we had to find a little accoutrement for Clay.

1
Oh, thank you so much for doing that. So encourage our listeners out there. I appreciate it. It’s a nice elephant, by the way. And Kendall, you can see it on the shelf over there. It’s right there.

1
It’s the small elephant, the neat elephant, written there, right there next to my Bernie Sanders toilet paper. Which, by the way, that Bernie Sanders toilet paper is very effective.

13
It’s unbelievable. Now, they have some marketing ideas in Mexico. They do. They definitely… What did one guy say to us? He said, yeah, come on in here.

13
Give me a chance to rip you off.

1
Really?

13
Oh, there’s an option.

40
Wow, wow.

1
So, let’s talk. Encourage the listeners out there, both the men and women listening to the show, who just, you know, because you guys, you and your husband, I mean, he used to train clients at your house, $115,000 house in Bartlesville. You have, you know, I think his first client was at 5 in the morning or 4 in the morning. Super early.

1
And you’re training people until 10 o’clock at night. You’re cutting hair. Mm-hmm. And some people just don’t want to go through, they’re having a hard time going through that tough part. They want the success now, they want the cruise now.

1
Encourage somebody out there who’s having a hard time delaying that gratification.

13
We do always talk about the cognitive dissonance, and I love this saying where, I think Billy Allsbrook says, it’s when you turn your should into a must. And I think it’s the should in your brain, that’s the cognitive dissonance, that you’re not doing the must. So when there’s something that you should be doing, and everybody has a list of things they should do, whether it’s exercise or you should take care of your kids or you should feed the family or you should go to work or you should be on time or they have all these shoulds and I think they don’t turn them into the must in

13
Their life and so I think just being super consistent at just the self Like self-discipline just learning how to be diligent and just even small things Kind of rolls over into bigger success in your life into other areas

1
I think what you said is 100% right, and I know the listeners don’t have all the time today to read the book called The Power of Habit. It’s called The Power of Habit. And I think that there’s a few quotes in that book that all the listeners should know.

1
It’s a great book called The Power of Habit. The author’s name is Charles Duhigg. He says, change might not be fast, and it isn’t always easy, but with time and effort, almost any habit can be reshaped. Change might not be fast. It isn’t always easy, but with time and effort, almost any change can be reshaped. Almost any habit, he says,

1
almost any habit can be reshaped. Now, he says the golden rule of habit, you can’t exchange a bad habit. He says you can’t extinguish a bad habit. You can only change it. You can’t extinguish it. Like you have to replace it with something else. So rather than, you’ve got to replace it, you’ve got to insert something into your routine. And a lot of people are people of habit. So let me give you an example of me.

1
I don’t do downtime. So I could do good things with my downtime, or bad things. Either way, I cannot relax. I hate it. So it’s like God made me this way, I don’t know what it is, but like I, whenever I watch, we don’t have to eat.

1
We don’t have to eat with Matt Klein and Michael Levine and great people, Aaron Antus, Steve Currington, we’re out there for dinner. And the entire time I’m thinking, when is this gonna be over? That’s what I did.

1
I actually went up to the bar, I went up to the bar and got myself a drink as opposed to waiting for the waiter because I don’t like waiters because I have to wait, which is what I don’t do in life. They’re called a waiter.

1
That’s what they do to help you get your fit. I’d rather just make my own or something. I don’t know. I just like… So again, it’s not a great character attribute. It’s one that is.

1
It is a thing. So I have to fill my schedule up with an insane amount of stuff. So what I did is I woke up on Sunday at 5 a.m. After going to bed at 2 a.m., I wake up, did the show. As soon as I finished the show, I edited the show, exported the show. As soon as I did that, I wake my kids up and we went and finished buying Vanessa Christmas gifts. And we went

1
to Carl’s Jr. to sample the Beyond Meat burger. And then after that, I returned a DJ system for Aubrey. Before the rest of the world had woken up, by the way, the mall opens up at 9, so does Guitar Center. I love that. So I’m the first person there, there’s no traffic. So I’m already done with a lot of my list. Then my wife had a blowout in her car, so I went and got her a different car, changed out the car. You’ve got to get one vehicle from A to B. My mom helped me do it. I got all that done before like 11 o’clock.

1
Most people are still just getting going on a Sunday. Then I listen to T.D. Jakes and I take copious notes. I listen to a Pastor Chad Everett sermon, took copious notes. Now it’s like noon. Then I help my son organize every single power cord that he has, where you organize them

1
all so they’re hung up nicely and that kind of thing. And then after that, I watch the Patriots game. I take notes while I watch the game. And then after I did that, I get ready for whatever the next thing is. But I have zero downtime.

1
I cannot do it. So I have, what he’s talking about is you might have a habit of being, you know, whatever your thing is, you’ve got to replace it with something else. But if I were to replace my need to get things done with a destructive habit, that would be the same thing. If I were to do drugs, I would do more drugs than anyone because I’m a very OCD, obsessive-compulsive, do-do-do kind of guy.

1
Again, be very important today. Understand this. We’ve got to replace some habit in our business with the ISM. You’ve got some habit in your business right now. I don’t know what it is, but everybody meets every morning in your office and maybe they have coffee and they talk for 20 minutes before

1
they do anything. And maybe we replace that habit with let’s take 20 minutes and let’s call people and get a review every morning. Maybe that’s our new ritual. But we’ve got to find a way to do it. Devin, why do you think some clients just can’t seem to figure this out until I nudge

1
on them, yell at them, encourage them, tase them. I even now wager. Last week I won $80.

15
$80.

1
Wow. I bet people cash, $20, that they would not get a Google review every day. And I lost last week one time, but I won four times. For a total of $80, I won. I almost got my wife’s Christmas gifts this year by wagering my clients. I’m serious.

1
I got about $300 of wagers in the past three or four weeks by wagering my clients. And it’s funny when I wager, some people, that’s the only thing that gets them going is that 20 bucks. Some people, it’s, they want to prove me wrong. Some people, it’s, can you talk about that? Why do you think some people don’t get reviews?

1
Even though it benefits their company, why would they not do it unless they’re betting me 20 bucks?

15
It forces them to change something in what their normal routine is and get out of their comfort zone a lot of times.

1
Now our final VISMM is more Google reviews. Amber, why can’t we ever stop getting Google reviews? Because again, at Co-Law Fitness, you guys have… I don’t want to exaggerate at all. I’m just saying, if you type in Joplin Gyms right now, you have 3,717 reviews. The closest competitor has 246. Clearly you’re doing well.

53
Check out Topeka.

1
Topeka, okay. Why can’t you stop? Why can’t you, Amber, stop getting reviews?

13
For the same reason, if you’re running a race, you’re not going to stop. You’re just going to keep going. Why can’t you- Competition’s always on your heels.

1
Why can’t you stop brushing your teeth?

13
There’s so many reasons why.

1
Why can’t you…

13
Because I want to keep my teeth.

1
Why can’t you stop being a good wife?

6
Because I have a really awesome husband and I’ve got to try and keep up with him.

13
I’ve got to keep him happy.

1
I feel like a lot of us out there, though, it seems like a stupid question. It’s a stupid question from a stupid host. Why can’t we stop brushing our teeth? But I think a lot of people feel like they want to get to the end of it.

13
Right.

1
I want to introduce the listeners to a new word. Devin, it’s the word of the day.

43
Oh!

1
You excited about the word of the day? Oh, you know I am. Okay, the word of the day is this. It’s commencement. Now, commencement, or they think about going to a big arena and watching a bunch of high school kids have their names read in alphabetical order while

1
being handed a sheet of paper. But is that… Devin, have you been to a graduation recently?

15
Mine took forever.

1
Where’d you graduate from?

15
Broken Arrow.

36
Oh, goodness.

1
How many kids have graduated?

15
In my class, there were just under 1,100.

1
Who gave your commencement address?

15
I don’t even remember.

1
It was that good, huh?

15
Yeah, it was so good.

52
See, that’s the thing.

1
Anyway, so these commencement addresses, and then we go, we’re done!

22
We did it! We did it!

1
And people start to think that way, like, we did it. Don’t they think that, Devin? We did it? True.

15
Why? Because they believe that that is the end. They finished something.

1
We did it! But they didn’t do it yet. They didn’t do it. What did they not do? When you have your commencement address, what did you not do? I probably took a nap. I really, really do believe, though, people think they did

1
it. We’re topping Google! We did it! We did it! I’m topping Google because you stopped the vism. The vism! Devin, somebody out there is fighting back right now about the vism. They want there to be a more deep, more complex way to dominate the Google search results. Well, it is true that you definitely have to have your website be canonically compliant to start and mobile compliant, but you can’t stop.

1
Why can’t you stop, Devin? Why can’t you stop?

15
It’s going back to that whole concept of consistency and understanding that your business has a digital heartbeat, you know, it has an online heartbeat, and once you stop putting those reviews and video content, those images up,

15
then Google, after seeing it consistently just drop off, they wonder if maybe your business had a heart attack or something.

1
Do you know what the word, and Devin, I’m not trying to paint you into a corner, I’m just asking the listeners here. Do you, Mr. Listener, Mrs. Listener, do you know what the word prism means? Prism?

50
Prism?

1
Prism? Geometric, geometric shapes maybe. Let’s go, there’s two definitions, okay? One is referring to geometric shapes, we can talk about that. The other one means it says used figuratively with reference to the clarification or distortion afforded by a particular viewpoint. Everybody there today needs a clarification of the visum

1
prism. You got to understand this that in order for you to go to the next level you’ve got to master this skill. This is similar to Amber, do you remember when we used to have to mail letters? Now I know you just turned 23 and that is an exciting thing for our listeners out there. We are very excited about your 23rd birthday. But do you remember when we mailed letters?

13
Oh yes.

1
And remember how, remember when you used to have to write words on paper?

13
Oh yes. I should say no if I’m 23.

1
But I mean this is like the new normal. Everybody out there has to know what the vism is. You have to know. And ignorance is not an excuse. Amber, if you ran Co-Law Fitness and you were not aware of the various laws related to the business, such as you provide workman’s comp for your people, or the hours people can work,

1
or whatever, if you weren’t aware of the laws, would the government give you a hall pass if you guys didn’t observe the laws?

13
Oh, no.

1
No, no, no.

13
No? They’d give us probably a nice letter first.

51
Right.

22
Right.

1
So, I mean, not knowing.

13
And then a nice fine after.

1
Ignorance is not an excuse for this. No. And now that you know, you still got to do it.

13
That happens to me all the time, though, when I get pulled over. Like, I just didn’t know what the speed limit was.

1
I did not.

13
I was not aware. That doesn’t work either.

1
You mean in this school zone, you can’t drive 100? In this particular school zone? Oh my gosh. I want the listeners to think about this though for a second. Because if you didn’t know what I’m telling you, now you do know. Right?

1
If you don’t know, now you do know. And I have a little Notorious B.I.G. sound clip ready for you guys. Here we go. Thank you, Notorious B.I.G.

45
And if you don’t know, now you know.

1
No, so if you don’t know, now you know, but you do know. And again, if you don’t know.

44
And if you don’t know, now you know.

1
I think a lot of people say, I don’t know. You do know. So now, Devin, we’ve got some activators we need to take here. Activators. Activators. Hopefully, we’re good motivators.

1
Now we have some activators. Need them. I’m going to give the listeners one action step to take. All right. go to thebestseobook.com. Devin did you code this page?

15
I cleaned it up a bit, but I just kind of made it run a little more efficiently.

1
Do you remember the meeting today, how many people have reached out for one-on-one coaching in the last week?

15
It was a lot. Do you remember the number roughly?

12
224, I want to say.

15
Right.

50
It’s a lot.

1
The only problem is we only take on 160 clients. So that’s a reality thing, okay? We only take on 160 clients. And so I’m trying to provide stuff for you if we’re not available. I’d encourage you to see if we’re available. We can schedule a 13-point assessment.

1
Right now I’m booked out for two weeks because we say for every 20 people that reach out for one-on-one coaching I think Julia will book, you know, usually one maybe and then I’ll talk to them And I just because I don’t want to work with people that don’t get entrepreneurship on a fundamental level I That’s more of like I would say come to the workshop or listen to the show but people that are kind of Socialistic in nature that want to argue with me and again in America. We have 327 million people

1
only 16 of million 16 million of which are actively self-employed. And out of that 16 million, only 4% of them don’t fail, according to Inc. Magazine. So, it’s a.00193 percentage chance that you will be successful as an entrepreneur by default. So, I want to give you free stuff here. So, the free stuff is if you go to Thrivetimeshow.com, forward slash, the best SEO book free, or

1
The Best SEO Book Free. Or we said, I guess the best would be, Devan, what’s the domain? The Best SEO Book. The Best SEO Book. Let’s do that one, that’s more direct. The Best SEO Book.com.

1
That’s the one. The Best SEO Book.com. You can download the Boom Book for free. Why? Because I believe in the golden rule. So many of you have downloaded it for free and then you buy it.

1
Dev, let’s go to Amazon real quick and see how highly we rank right now in the book category for the section of search engine optimization. So I’m going to Amazon. I’m searching the book section for the search engine optimization, and I see that we are currently number three. We’re number three right now.

15
Oh yeah.

1
Oh man, we’re not number two though. We’re not number one. I would encourage you, Mr. Listener, Mrs. Listener, download the book for free. Get that thing. Read that thing. If you like that thing, buy that thing.

1
Why? Because I want to buy my wife various things that she needs, like kale. And kale is expensive. But to get the book, check it out. And Devin, you made another cool page last week. Thrivetimeshow.com forward slash free resources.

15
Oh, yeah. That thing’s hot.

1
Thrivetimeshow.com forward slash free dash resources. All right. This is kind of our no brainer for you. OK. You can download all the books that I’ve written. The e-book version of them.

1
Absolutely for free. Right now all of them for free. The e-book version for free. And this just in Thrive Nation. We also have all of the infographics I’ve made. Those are all free for you.

1
There’s infographics about lead management. Managing humans. These are the posters you can print in your office now. You can print the posters. Oh, yeah. Logo Creation 101, Why Google Loves WordPress, Time Management 101, The Importance of Calling

1
Your Leads 101, Nomenclature 101. These are great posters you can put in your office for free. You owe me nothing. You can get that. And then I have two more books coming out here in the next 30 days. We’ve got If the Walls Could Talk, a book that distills all the notable quotables on the walls and what they mean and the origin

1
of them. And we also have Trade Ups, a book that started as a conversation with Miss E. Fott, who attended our Christmas party. Oh, yeah. Did you guys know, did I tell you, Charles, that she attended the Christmas party? That was the craziest thing ever.

1
We had… I’ll pull it up here so you guys can see it. Pull it up so they can see it. If you Google search Clay Clark Twitter, you can see it. This is a true story. At our Christmas party, we had one of the world’s top MMA fighters, we had the world’s

1
top literary agent, and the world’s top PR consultant all in the same room talking to each other. It was like, what in the world is going on? I think the post says, 2019 Christmas party from Clay to Z with the world’s number one wife Vanessa and the world’s number one literary agent. Do you remember that, Devin, that Z came up there and he said, I have a gift for you,

1
I have a present. And I’m going, oh no, because I’m thinking this is going to be like a gag gift. And he’s like, we have, EFOT is with us. And I’m like, how many people do you know named EFOT? And I pull it up and there is the literary agent for Elon Musk’s books, The Subtle Art of, I mean, this is pretty cool stuff.

1
And then we took a group photo with the whole team. I mean, it was an awesome party, awesome event, awesome stuff. And so the book that I started working on with her is called Trade Ups, which is about the trade-offs you have to make to upgrade your lifestyle. And it’s very specific. And she gave me the idea for that book, and I’m working on that right now.

1
All that’s available for free to download. It’s a no-brainer. Charles, even if we’re topping Google, what would happen to Kola Fitness if you did not offer your clients a no-brainer? Well, if we didn’t have a no-brainer, then it would be a brainer and it would be difficult to make the decision, which would probably have a lot less sales. You would have a lot less sales. Does it cheapen your

1
brand to have a great offer at ColawFitness.com? No, it doesn’t actually. We’ve been pushing a lot of these different incentives that you’ve

4
been showing us the last three years and it’s definitely captured a lot more sales.

1
Kendall, let’s see if we can do this. Let’s see if you can film the TV while you also are on the mic. Let’s see if we can do that. I bet you can. I bet you can. See, it’s Kendall’s now videoing the show here.

1
And Kendall’s a young whippersnapper.

15
He’s very flexible.

1
Kendall, you brought your wife to the Christmas party, man. Did she have a good time?

17
Yes.

40
Yes, she did.

1
She said you had a good time. So talk to me about it. Did you enjoy the conference or what kind of things did you learn at the conference?

17
So there’s a bunch of stuff at the conference. I learned that it’s very hard to pull focus whenever Michael Levine is walking about two feet in front of you. But no, tons of stuff. Like I now actually have a full set list I have now at my desk at home of all the action items I need to do to get my personal media business to the next level.

17
I’ve got a whole list of action items now that I’m trying to take I

1
Just I think that somebody out there Charles is Overcomplicating this right now just like people over complicate fitness, and I’m not asking you to attack our listeners But I’d like for you to pretend for a second that You knew and by the way you do, but let’s pretend that you knew that the listeners were just four daily activities away from making millions of dollars. They’re just four, they have a good product and a great service, great service, great product and they’re just hidden.

1
There is no vision because they don’t know the vism. They’re not doing the vism. They’re hidden. What encouragement would you have for the listeners out there who are going, yeah, I don’t have time to do it. What encouragement would you have for them?

4
These action items that you’ve given them, they can, of course, pull up all those resources to look at it. The show notes will actually give you better step-by-step methods to following that. You can reach out to Clay and his team for business coaching. You will literally give us three to four action items every week, and you just literally knock out just three to four little things every week.

1
Every week.

4
And the next thing you know, you look back 24 months later and you’re up two-fold in gross sales. Your margins are better. You have better no-brainers. Your presence is just dominating on every social media site. Everything’s pulling into better leads.

4
You’ve got better systems.

15
So yeah.

1
Why do you think that we don’t take on more than 160 clients. You personally trained people. What happens once you start to have… A typical client you would train, I think you would do about three sessions a week or five a week? Yeah, about three generally.

1
Three sessions a week. So with your schedule, you were working about 80 hours a week at the time. You could probably only work with maybe 20 clients personally at that time, maybe 25. Was there a certain number you had, a certain max?

4
Well, there’s a certain point where you feel like you’re not giving really…

1
Your quality is declining a little bit, just trying to run through numbers. And my key is to never, you know, you kind of want to know where the decline number is so you never go there.

4
Yes, absolutely. I think for you and me, we thrive on excellence and trying to really work with good people that are implementers, really people that want to follow the diet and the workout, people that really want to follow action items. You like to see success, you like to see your customers get results, you want to see your business cope, businesses really thrive and grow.

4
And so you can really kind of be selective, like you are now. You have 200 and some that want in. You already have a pretty full… This week. Yeah. So you have a very full load.

4
So you can be very selective. And yeah, that’s the big thing is…

1
What was the exact question again? I mean, I wanted to ask your opinion as to why… Because what you and I do was very similar. You as a personal trainer is very similar to being a business coach. You’re very similar.

49
Coaches.

1
And again, somebody out there saying, well, why don’t you take on more clients? What starts to happen when you have, like at your gyms now, you don’t know the average member, but they don’t expect to know you. But what happens if you have a coaching program where people expect for, it gets weird. You know, I felt bad because we had a guy at the conference named Wesley, who’s attended, I think this is his third conference, and he walked up to me, he didn’t have his name

1
tag on yet, and I knew it was like a wah sound. So I’m like, there’s not a whole lot of, but I kind of was like, so initially I was like

48
Willie.

1
And there’s a lot more Wesley’s than Willie’s, but I’m like, and he’s like, Wes. And I’m like, and I hate when it gets so big you don’t know everybody. And so if you’re out there today, we have so many free resources there to help you. And we also have an online school. You go to thrive timeshow.com, you click on business coaching, it’s 19 bucks a month.

1
You get access to thousands of videos. I would just say this to the listeners. I’ve got one more little thing I want to give to you here. If you are online today and you’re going, man, I’d like to know more about this Ifat Reese Jindal. Her company is called foundrymedia.com.

1
There you can see all the books that she’s written, all the books that her firm has represented. And then if you type in, if you do a search right now, you’d have to do a search for top literary agent shares her story on YouTube. You can see my interview with Ifat,

1
you can hear it on YouTube, or you just type in Ifat Thrive Time Show, you can hear my 47 minute long interview with the world’s top literary agent. But Thrive Nation, if you’re out there today, don’t just be a hearer, be a doer. Don’t just be an intender, be a contender.

1
Z, we’ve been teaching people about search engine optimization while you’ve been leading a… Were you leading a board meeting or was it a conference call or what exactly were you doing?

10
Yeah, what happened was communication’s the key. When someone says two o’clock and you commit to it, and they mean Pacific Standard Time, sometimes when you’ve got friends around the world and they want to do something at a certain time, you go, yeah, I could do it at that time. And then you find out that really for your time, it means 4 o’clock, it causes some conflicts.

1
Well, as we are wrapping up today’s show, we’ve been talking to, we’ve been teaching the listeners about where there is no vism, the people perish. Your online presence perishes when you don’t have search engine content being added every day, and you don’t have more reviews being added all the time. Z, I mean, preach the goodness. For somebody out there who’s going, I know that this is what works.

1
I know the Colas just shared with me the story. I know that Devin shared the story. But Z, for somebody out there who says, yeah, but I just don’t know, will it work?

10
Back in the day, the advice that I would have given you 25 years ago was to start your business with

42
an A.

10
A. And you know why? I mean, you would have been A best fitness. Right. You would have been A best plumbing.

1
All-star DJs. Triple A electricians. I once started a fictitious company called Always and Forever Wedding DJ Service.

10
And why? Because back in the day, it was the move. Yeah, because the move was the yellow pages and they listed it alphabetically. And so people would start to call the first one on the list just like they do now on the Google page. Like they do on the Google now. Right. You know, the top one gets the majority of calls and number two gets the next majority. Number three, there are not many people going down to page seven to find what they’re looking for.

10
So that was the advice back then, and it worked. And that’s why now you can tell the businesses that started a long time ago from their name. Just telling you, right? And then the other move was you had a bigger picture, or you put pictures of your staff in there, and then you’d sometimes add people, right? You’d be like, hey, what are you doing right now?

1
So, Han, let me show this to you real quick.

47
Look at this real quick.

10
Oh, you got one of your old ads?

1
Well, come gather real quick. I want to show this to you. This is, let’s do a search real quick here for Joplin gems. I’m just going to show you so you can see this glory. The first search result is Kola. Then the second is Planet.

1
The third is 24. And then, look at them. They’re now video, video. I was explaining this to Bo, your son, the other day, and he was like, wow, it’s sexy. And then, see, look at this. We’re scrolling down.

1
Then they’re here again. They’re here again. Look at that. There they are again. And then they’re there again. See, look at this.

1
Oh, they’re here again. Facebook, they’re here. All the images, they’re here. Z! Z!

10
Somebody out there is fighting back about this. And it just doesn’t happen. It just doesn’t happen. You’ve got to do it. And if you don’t want to do it, hire someone to do it for you. But you really need to oversee it and really be dictatorship about it and make sure that

10
it’s getting done. You know, 3,000 plus, almost 4,000 reviews. That just doesn’t happen because you say in an office meeting once a month okay everybody remember or you know get a review

10
get a review because it’s important you know i mean now i’ll see you next month and i’ll tell you the same thing but you know go get em go get em guys come on pump some iron let’s go get em now Billy have you been tanning enough you might need to tan a little bit more okay let’s go come on

1
everybody wants to rule the world everybody does everybody should go check this song out right now on Spotify.

10
And the moods have changed and you know what? You’ve got to change with the times, Clay.

1
You’ve got to, everybody out there, I want you to go to Spotify right now and queue up Tears for Fears. Everyone wants to rule the world. Everyone needs to listen, stream that beast, listen to it.

10
Stream it, come on now.

1
Because everybody wants to rule the world. Why not?

46
They do.

10
Somebody has to. But then people don’t want to do the action steps needed to rule the world. You know what some people do, they just don’t know them, Clay. Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know and that’s what this show is about. We’re saying, hey listen, here’s the steps, here’s what you do today. You know, and we make fun about what we did in the past. You know, you make fun about being the full page ad, the yellow page. You make fun about doing the moves, you know. The moves. The moves. But now today

10
these are the moves and they’re very movable. You can do them. You can do this. It’s within your capability, trust me. If you don’t know how to do it, just check in with us. We’ll kind

1
of walk you through it. What we did was go to in-person workshops, we got our online school. 19 bucks a month, baby. I mean, nothing. Z, check this out. If you don’t know, now you know. We’ve been talking about this for an hour. If you don’t know, now you know. The Notorious B.I.G. couldn’t be here because he is dead.

45
And if you don’t know, now you know.

10
That’s a lame excuse.

1
But I have two tips out there. One, avoid gang violence. Yes, at all costs.

44
At all costs.

1
If you think about joining a gang, don’t do the Notorious B.I.G. move. Don’t do that. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. And then the second is get the vism aligned today. Get the video reviews.

1
Come on now. Get those image reviews. Come on. Get those optimized images. Add that search engine content and get more reviews. Internet marketing is a process, not an event.

1
My name’s Clay Clark. That’s Dr. Zellner. That’s Charles and Amber Colaw. That’s Devin. And that’s Kendall, who actually, for a minute, Z, he filmed today while being a guest on the show.

10
Wow.

1
That’s incredible. I asked her to do the impossible. That’s multitasking at its best.

10
It’s a beautiful thing. You know what? This world is a beautiful place. Just grab it. Have some fun. And for those of you out there who want to start a business, you’ve got a business, we want

10
to help you. We want to mentor you. We want to give you all this. Email us. Call us. Send us a pigeon.

10
However you want to communicate.

4
We’re ready.

10
Do we have a pigeon? Your chicken loft can double as a pigeon loft, right?

1
For humming pigeons to come in and bring us messages? I don’t know about the technology exactly, but I believe that if you think it’s possible…

42
It’s a good technology. It works.

1
You’re kind of like an animal whisperer. You can do whatever you want. Hey, there’s a message.

43
You do have horses, though.

1
Oh, yeah. Do you have a kind of emotional connection? We have Pony Express. I could send to Pony Express. If people want to learn more about your ranch, how can they learn more about this ranch?

10
RockinZRanchOK.com if they want to just for fun. I think you’ve got like a drone thing of it that’s really cool. Yeah.

1
Hey, by the way, I put some cool pictures up from the party. Did you see them yet? No. Where would I find them? Look at that, Doug. Go to Twitter. You do type in Twitter. Type in Twitter. Clay Clark and deal with this picture. This picture here. OK, this picture here is our relationship. Look at this picture. This picture. This is this is our relationship. This is what our relationship is. You look you look you look a little confused. I do look at this.

1
And then look at this. This is everyone’s having a good look at this. Everyone’s having a good time. And then we got a picture of let’s get here. Let’s get we got a thought they’re having a good time. See that picture there, that says the bromance that we have from Clay to Z.

10
It’s really incredible and the whole, I love the group shot. I mean, how many employees did we have there?

1
Like 300 or something? Yeah, it was a great, great team photo. I mean, I got a lot of great team photos.

10
Unfortunately, I think that we may, that may be our last time to be there. We may have outgrown that space, a great space. We’ve done it before there. But as it is, when you outgrow something, when things change, you adapt and you find

23
a new place.

1
Or you build a new building.

10
Or you build a new building. By the way, can we talk about that yet? Yeah, let’s talk about it. So how did the soil report come back?

36
It’s good.

1
What’s the word on the street? Let me show you where we’re going to build. Let me show it to you right now. I’ll pull it up on the screen. And then, Devin, can you pull it up for the co-laws so they can see too? If you do a search for Thrivetime Show and Jinx, I’m pulling up on the map here. And then Z, we’re going to pull

1
up on the map. You want to look at the Google Earth image. And so here we go. This is our office now. Here we are. And we’re just going to go four miles west on 91st. And we’re going four miles west on 91st. There we are. And so all this land has been purchased basically. And this right here, this right here is a green belt. So no one can ever build there. It’s a reservoir, so it’s always going to be green. And we’re going to build the house right here

1
at the high point of a 600-foot hill, overlooking everything. And then the building is going to go right here and be hidden behind this whole thing. So that is the process, my friend.

10
So those of you that have been out to our conference, which is in a really, really cool, sexy space right now,

1
we are going to redo that on this new property. It’s going to be called Camp Clark and Chicken Palace is the property.

2
Chicken Emporium maybe.

1
Chicken Emporium.

10
Palace. I like Palace.

1
Palace is a fitting word by the way. It’s a beautiful thing. It shows our love for the chickens. Not a lot of people when their chicken gets injured, not a lot of people will go ahead and pay to have the chicken stitched or returned to health, but we do. Well I think it’s important to note that your chickens are free range.

1
In fact, we’ve had Tom, your turkey, visit us here in the recording studios on multiple

42
occasions.

10
That’s free range.

11
Oh, yes.

1
Oh, and hey, did we have a guy, did Devin, the guy that just left us a review on Google, did he even attend our workshop? I don’t think he did.

41
I don’t know.

40
I don’t think he did.

10
Well, did he get a bad review or something?

1
Oh, yeah, but he didn’t even attend.

10
Well, does that mean he can’t sit and review?

1
He can.

39
That’s what we’re saying, though.

1
The trolls are controlling the internet. There it is. I don’t know who this guy is. There he is, he didn’t even attend but that’s okay. That’s the reality of any time you pull up your Google map, that’s the reality, that’s the world we live in folks. No matter what job you do, you’re going to get some bad reviews. Could it steal my joy? It could if I dwelled on it. But don’t dwell. Negative dwelling. Let’s end the show with a boom now. Here we go, the positive boom. There you go. Alright,

1
ready, I’m ready. Three, two, one, boom.

9
Placid, Ajoku, and the company is BuiltPhoenixStrong personal training. So let me see here.

1
So you divided by 3000, let’s do that. Okay, so I think you’re up 15.33 times. Is that accurate, sir? That’s accurate.

9
Woo.

1
So walk me through what it’s like to have 15 times more leads, because I know when we first talked to you, leads was not something that you had an abundance of. Yeah, absolutely. It’s been life changing. There’s some days now where the leads won’t stop coming in, whereas before I started working

9
with you guys, I think I may have received maybe two online leads in the previous two to three years. Everything had been just manual leads. Because really when people come in, they already know what separates us from everybody else, just from all the one sheets that you guys put together for us

9
that highlighted what separated us. You know, we did the mystery shopping. Originally, I thought my personal chain was kind of expensive, but we found out that we were actually priced very well, but we offered way more for the price

9
than all our competitors did, so it was almost a no-brainer. It’s been huge because before, I was just doing everything mainly through Instagram, but when you guys would give me those seven action hours every single week on what I needed to do to improve the marketing and get the three legs in place, the Google, the Dream 100,

9
the YouTube, the Facebook ads, it really started to crank the way the business was viewed by people around the community and leads that were coming in.

1
For anybody who might have missed it earlier, I just want to make sure I clarify this. How much have you grown since we started working with you? Because I think there’s somebody who says, what was that number? How much have you grown in terms of just revenue or how would you quantify that there, Placid?

9
15 times.

1
Think about that, folks. Everybody out there, if you’re watching today’s show. Now, I’ve met you and I know that you could have been a male model. I know you could have been a pro athlete, but you chose to do fitness. So you got a lot of things going for you. But at the same time, everybody out there can be successful. Well, Thrive Nation, on today’s show, we’re joined by an entrepreneur who’s in the fitness space.

1
This guy is a personal trainer extraordinaire. And we’ve been working with him for years. And if I believe I’m correct, the amount of leads he’s generated has gone up dramatically. The number of trainers he now employs has gone up. And he’s now in the process of franchising his business.

1
And with that being said, Placid, welcome onto the Thrive Time Show. How are you, sir?

9
I’m good, man. Thanks for having me.

1
Hey, just to verify that you’re not a hologram or just a hologram male model, what’s your first and last name and what’s the name of your company?

9
Placid Ajoku, and the company is Built Phoenix Strong Personal Training.

1
And I had notes here because Sean’s had the opportunity to work with you over the years. And if I believe if I’m correct here, you’ve actually grown from $3,000 a month in revenue when we first met you to now you’re at a point where you’re at $46,000 a month of revenue. So it’s something like 10 times, 12 times, 13 times, 14 times. You’d be what, somebody do some math here.

1
$46,000 divided by 3. Let me do the math here because this is encouraging for somebody out there that feels stuck. So 46,000 divided by 3, let me pull this up here. So let me see here, so you divide it by 3,000, let’s do that. Okay, so I think you’re up 15.33 times. Is that accurate, sir?

9
That is accurate.

1
So walk me through what it’s like to have 15 times more leads, because I know when we first talked to you leads was not something

9
that you had an abundance of. Yeah absolutely it’s been life-changing there’s some days now where the leads won’t stop coming in whereas before I started working with you guys I think I may have received maybe two online leads in the previous two to three years everything had been just manual leads. So

1
walk me through the the lead flow and you say you get a lead, are these warm leads, people reaching out to your website, are these rando cold leads from third-party websites? Walk us through what kind of leads you’re getting today.

9
Yeah, we’re getting hot leads. These are people that have gone through, they’ve read our reviews, they’ve seen our website online, they’ve gone through the website, they’ve filled out a form, and they’re requesting a free assessment and want us to contact them.

1
Now, there’s somebody watching the show right now who may be interested in teaming up with you on a franchise level or they just want to learn more about your business. I believe the website address here is builtphoenixstrong.org. Is that the correct website there, sir?

9
Yes.

1
Okay. So I’m going to walk the listeners through this process because I think when a lot of people think about fitness, they probably think about what workouts do I need to do. I think when a lot of people think about growing a business, they think about marketing. But as we know, you can’t out-train a bad diet in the world of fitness, and you can’t out-sell

1
bad accounting. So in business, you have to learn offense and defense. In fitness, you have to learn how to eat properly, as well as the workouts. We’re going to go step by step through all 14 steps here with you.

1
I want to get your thoughts on this concept here. So Placid, why is it important for you, as a coaching client, as a business owner, to know your revenue goals. Like why is that an important thing for you to know? And anybody watching today’s show.

9
Yeah, that way you know exactly what needs to be done each day and each week and each month to make sure that you’re on track to be profitable as well as pay the staff and be able to grow the business as well.

1
Now for anybody who wants to follow along, if you go to thrivetimeshow.com forward slash millionaire, thrivetimeshow.com forward slash millionaire, You can download every single book I’ve ever written 100% free. And the book we’re teaching from today is called A Millionaire’s Guide to Becoming Sustainably Rich.

1
So you can go here, download the book for free, and we’re on page five of this book. Box number two, you got to know your break-even numbers.

9
Why is that important for you as a business owner to know your break-even numbers? Yeah, so that when customers are coming in the door, it’s cool for them to be coming in, but you got to make sure you’re hitting the right metrics. Otherwise, you’re going to have tons of people coming in and be negative every single day.

2
But when you know your break-even numbers, you know if you meet a certain metric, everything

1
after that is profit and growth. And I didn’t know any of that before. Now, Sean, you have had an opportunity to work with Placid over the years. I want to get your thoughts on this box number three, you’ve said online, offline, that Placid works super hard in terms of his schedule. He’s committed to his own fitness but also has a tough schedule. Can you talk, why is it important for you as a coach to

1
clarify with your clients how many hours a week they’re actually willing to work and what boundaries they have on their schedule? Why is it important for you as a coach when working with a client like Placid or any client to clarify how many hours a week they’re actually willing to put into the business? Well, one is I don’t want them to hate me because if I give them more work than they can handle, then they tend to hate me.

1
I learned that early on as a coach. But the other reason is just so that we can be realistic about what goals we’re going to be able to achieve. If you’re already doing 100 hours a week, then you’re going to have slower growth because there’s less time you can put towards working on the business in addition to that hundred hours a week. How would you describe the work schedule that I personally keep, me personally, versus that

1
of the average client we work with?

11
Maniacal, maniacally higher. Just like you are here, today is a Saturday, and you are here before me every day this

38
week.

1
And you are here… And what time is before you?

11
Before me, I get here at like 5.30, 5.40 and you’re typically here every day that I get

1
here and whenever I leave, you’re still here. And I don’t think that, I’m not saying for anybody watching this that that’s how you should live your life. I think it’s very important that we are intellectually honest, emotionally honest with ourselves about the hours we’re willing to work. And my wonderful wife and I, we’ve been married now almost 24 years and we’re okay with me

1
working six days a week and taking the seventh day off. So I’m pretty much done every day around 6 o’clock. And I go from about 4.30 to 6, six days a week. I’m not saying that’s what you should do, folks. I’m just telling you, you need to know your hours that you’re willing to work.

1
Box number four, define your unique value proposition. This is especially important as you’re franchising. Plast, I want to get your thoughts on what kind of impact it’s made by having Sean and the team help you clarify what makes your business unique versus all the other wonderful training companies

1
that exist in the marketplace today.

9
Yeah, it’s been huge. Really, when people come in, they already know what separates us from everybody else, just from all the one sheets that you guys put together for us that highlighted what separated us.

9
You know, we did the mystery shopping. Originally, I thought my personal training was kind of expensive, but we found out that we were actually priced very well, that we offered way more for the price than all our competitors did, so it was almost a no-brainer.

1
The mystery shopping is so important, folks. Again, box number four, you’ve got to know who your top three competitors are, mystery shop them so you know how you stack up in the clutter of commerce where everybody is very much competing for the same dollar. Box number five, you’ve got to improve your branding. This is one thing I want to brag on about you, Placid, is we tell every client we work

1
with, every client we work with, you have to go out there and gather objective testimonials from real clients you’ve actually worked with. Let me give you an example. Brian D. Wiggs, a wonderful home builder that Sean’s had the privilege of working with, mentoring, coaching up. Brian D. Wiggs, he builds homes, multi-million dollar homes.

1
He has to gather testimonials from his happy clients. And you know what? He’s done a great job doing that. That’s bryanddwiggs.com. Skyhouse, Skyhouse. Yeah, Skyhouse Company, Banner Elk.

1
Okay, and this is a construction company, skyhousecompany.com. Sean, this guy builds luxury cabins that overlook the mountains. Long-time client of yours. We’ve had tremendous success with this wonderful client. And by the way, he’ll be on part two of today’s show sharing his testimonial.

11
You can click on his reviews. He has all of his reviews on his Google business listing.

1
There you go. With every client we work, I’m just trying to show people a variety of industries here. Papa Gallo’s, this is a pizzeria based in sunny Florida. Again, we tell them the same thing. We talk about Smiles Hollywood, Orthodontist, based in McKinney, Texas.

1
We have clients all over the country, all over the world. And these clients we work with, every one of them, we tell them, you have to gather objective video reviews from real clients and objective Google reviews. Can you talk about that, Placid? Because I believe that’s made a big impact on the amount of

1
hot leads you’re generating, sir.

9
Absolutely, yeah. It’s been huge. I think we’ve become probably the highest rated personal trainer in the state of Georgia when me and Sean checked a couple of weeks ago. Yep. And it’s been huge.

9
One of the first things people say when they call in on the phone is that they read our reviews or they saw our video reviews on our website and they felt like it related to them and they want to come in and do an assessment.

1
Now, I’m going to pull this up here I want to brag on another client Oxifresh. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them since they started essentially and they now have 550 locations. They just passed 310,000 reviews and again these are from real customers. This is powerful stuff. So for somebody watching today’s show you say how do I become successful? This is how you do it. Box number five, branding. Branding is simply the perception that

1
people have of you when they think about you and your business. So I want people to think about this for a second. When people tune into my show, true story, good or bad, people go, you’re the high energy pale guy. Are you okay?

1
That’s what people do. They go, he’s the high energy pale guy. Is he okay? Is he always like this? Is he always so aggressive? That’s what people say all the time.

1
I hear it all the time.

11
Yeah, he’s always pale.

1
People always say, don’t they ask you, is he always that aggressive? Is he always that fired up? They do. And I get it. That’s the brand. That’s the perception people have.

1
When people go to oxyfresh.com, O-X-I fresh.com, the brand is the perception people have when they see the website. Rustic cuff.com, long time client, worked with her. Her business, rustic cuff.com. It’s the perception that people have when they go to the business and check it out for the first time. So people look up rustic cuff and they look up celebrities. They do it all the time.

1
They go, what celebrities are wearing the rustic cuffs? And they click it on, they look at it, and they click around, and they start hunting and pretty soon they go, I think there’s a lot of celebrities that are wearing rustic cuff. And they go, wait a minute, yeah isn’t that the thing that those people on the Today Show wear? Isn’t that the thing I’ve seen that music artist wear? Isn’t that the thing that I’ve seen?

1
And they start, I think that Oprah wore a rustic cuff on the cover. You know what? I feel like rustic cuff was on Oprah.com as a recommended product. I feel like rustic cuff is a product that a lot of celebrities wear. You know what? If it’s good enough for the celebrities, I bet you it’s good enough for me.

1
And they start to say, I think Connick Jr., didn’t he get a rustic cuff or something? And they start doing their research. And Sean, it turns out that people want to buy something from products and from companies that they can trust. And branding is a big thing. Business cards, logos, websites.

1
Could you talk a little bit about the value of having a team that you pay a flat monthly rate to that knocks out all of your branding for you?

9
Yeah, it’s been huge. It’s really been life-changing. Just because I don’t really have to even think about those things anymore. I don’t even know how to do a majority of that. We’re just having a team like you guys there, able to do it and do it really better than all my competitors.

2
I mean, it’s why all these leads go.

1
I want people to understand this, folks. If you’re out there feeling overwhelmed, with the coaching that we do, we don’t just teach you what to do, but we do the graphic design, the photography, the video, the web, all of it. Box number six, three-legged marketing stool. You have to come up with a three-legged, a dependable way, a dependable turnkey way to reach your customers.

1
And before we start working with you, I don’t believe you have that in place. Maybe I’m wrong. Could you talk about maybe the impact that coaching has made on your ability to have a turnkey proven way to generate leads.

9
Yeah, it’s been huge because before I was just doing everything mainly through Instagram, but when you guys would give me those seven action hours every single week on what I needed to do to improve the marketing and get the three legs in place, the Google, the Dream 100, the YouTube, the Facebook ads,

9
it really started to crank the way the business was viewed by people around the community and leads that were coming in.

1
And again, for anybody who might have missed it earlier, I just want to make sure I clarify this. How much have you grown since we started working with you? Because I think there’s somebody who says, what was that number? How much have you grown in terms of just revenue or how would you quantify that there, Placid?

9
15 times.

1
Think about that, folks. Everybody out there, if you’re watching today’s show, now I’ve met you and I know that you could have been a male model. I know you could have been a pro athlete, but you chose to do fitness, so you’ve got a lot of things going for you. But at the same time, everybody out there can be successful.

1
I just got off the phone with Randy Antrick, a long-time client with PMHOKC. I literally just got off the phone with him. His company, when we started with him up to now, he’s grown to the point where he’s a $17 million a year company. This guy has grown his business by almost 20 times. And I’m telling you folks, everybody out there,

1
you can implement these systems. We move on to box number seven, sales conversion. Sean, you bragged about this, Placid and his team, they follow the sales scripts. They’re leaning into coaching. They’re wanting to learn more about recorded calls.

1
Using a one sheet, they’re wanting to move into tracking obsessively. A lot of people are not so coachable here, but in order for you to be successful as a business owner and a franchise, you’ve got to have turnkey sales systems. Tell us about what makes Placid and his team successful from a perspective as a coach. Like, why are they, why is Placid really doing a good job on what he’s doing here with the sales systems.

11
Yeah, well, a lot of business owners, they have to sell, because it turns out you fail if you don’t sell anything. But they have just kind of an energy and a mojo that they do, but then to make that scalable for other people is almost impossible without these scripts. And Placid has really leaned into that, not just even with the system for sales, but really when it comes to the system for his employees as well, everything is systemized.

11
They’re checklist driven now. And because of that, he’s got a structure in place where he can train people to do the things that previously he was the only one who could do, like calling leads and getting them booked for appointments. You have to have a high energy, which he does have on that, but you also have to have a system and we do have those systems as well.

1
Placid, what kind of an impact has it made on your business having scripts in place and a system in place for sales as opposed to just random philosophy and random ideas. How much has it impacted your business to have a

9
sales script and a sales system in place? Yeah, it’s been tremendous. It really makes it pretty much black and white. You follow the script, you listen to the call, did you say exactly what the script said? Why did you not follow it? So it made us elite at our sales because I think we have a 90% conversion rate of anybody that walks through the door because we all follow the exact same script. Nobody’s adding their own things to it.

1
You have a 90% conversion rate. I’m just taking notes here. This is powerful stuff here. Again, folks, if you’re watching today’s show and you feel stuck, we can get you unstuck. Box number eight, determine a sustainable customer acquisition cost. Now this is where you just, at the end of the day, you’re saying,

1
what does it cost for me to generate a lead? I’m just gonna tell the listeners out there, I’m gonna, bear my soul, okay? So when we do our conferences, people say, I wanna come to your conference, how much does it cost? How much does it work?

1
People always ask me, your conferences, I’ve heard they’re great. Wow, you bring people like Tim Tebow and Eric Trump to these things. You brought the gentleman who turned around Harley Davidson. I wanna host a conference.

1
I wanna be a conference host. I should do one too. And they always ask me that. They go, I should do one too. What does that cost? And I say, well, for this one in particular, it’s about $160,000 up front it costs me to

1
put up. He’ll say, $160,000? What do you buy it? Well, let’s talk about it. In this case, you’ve got the president’s son, so you’ve got security. Then you’ve got food for 500 people.

1
Then you’ve got the employees who are working the event, then you’re paying videographers and photographers to stream and to edit. You kind of go through the line item and pretty quickly you go, whoa. And so I know what it costs me to put on the event. So whether I have zero attendees or a sold out conference like we always have, they’re always sold out, you say, well, what does it cost you?

1
The cost is still the cost. So in this case, my cost to put on the event, to promote the event, minimum is $160,000. And you say, $160,000, you are sick. So it cost me $320 a person to put on the event. People say, what?

1
$320,000? So typically when you have a wedding, if you’re hosting a big wedding, Sean, you might say, I’m gonna budget $100 per person, $100 per guest for the entertainment, the food, the deal. Our budget per person for many of our conferences is over $300 a person. So people say, what?

1
But I know that cost. I go in eyes wide open. I’m not shocked by it. Another example, elephant in the room, our haircut chain. I know it cost me approximately $20 to get a new customer through the door. Now someone says, $20? $20? You say, what are you spending the $20 on?

1
Well, we do online ads. We do ongoing search engine optimization. We have signs in place. And so our cost per lead to succeed is approximately $20 a lead. I want to talk about your business for a second,

1
because you’re now franchising, which means you’ve kind of nailed down some of the systems. How important is it for you, Placid, to now have a turnkey system in place that you can now offer franchisees that want to team up with you and your business?

9
Yeah, that has been huge because you got to be able to know as a new franchisee what to say when somebody comes in the door in order to convert them into the client. So really it’s made it turnkey so that anybody can do it regardless of where they are, what their experience is, if they want to buy a built Phoenix strong and get started in franchising, you have all the scripts and systems detailed to the T

9
so they can plug and play and be successful like we have been.

1
Who’s a good fit to buy a franchise from you at this point? Cause you have the systems in place. Who’s a good fit, who’s not a good fit?

9
Somebody that has a passion for fitness and wants to be their own boss and is willing to work. Cause even though it is a franchise, it is, you’re technically in startup mode. So anybody that understands that will be successful, because they’ll be able to create their own revenue

9
growth and whatever financial goals they have for themselves.

1
Now, this is powerful stuff. I’m telling you, folks, I’m telling you today. I won’t tell you who I’m meeting with today, but today I’m going to be working with an NBA coach. A client of mine is an NBA coach, coaches the National Basketball Association.

1
And guess what? They have to have systems. Now, it’s kind of interesting, because, Ashana, I kind of have to hint around on this, OK? But I work with one of the most successful insurance agents in America.

1
And he’s not, quote unquote, supposed to have a coach, or at least he can’t admit to it publicly. His brand doesn’t want him to admit he has a coach. That’s a brand standard. You can’t say, I’m a part of this company, and I’ve hired an outside coach.

1
The NBA guy, NBA coach, he can’t say, by the way, I’m an NBA coach but I have a coach. Can’t do that. However, Robert Kiyosaki will tell you if it’s important to you, hire a coach. This just in, Tom Brady has said multiple times without Bill Belichick he would not have made it to the levels he got to. Everybody out there, we need a coach, we need a mentor, we need somebody to push us.

1
You say, well, who’s your coach, Clay? Just a little secret here, folks. I invest every year approximately $100,000 a year in coaching. And you say, what? So let me walk you through where my money goes. I have an ongoing attorney, legal team, wintersking.com, and we’ll just say I’m paying them about $4,000

1
a month every single month for a long time. When you say, why do I do that? Because as you get bigger, you have more legal situations to deal with. So, Sean, I just have a flat rate every month. I want to know, this is who I’m hiring. They’re going to coach me, mentor me on the legal aspects of the company.

1
And it doesn’t mean I’m an idiot. It doesn’t mean my mind doesn’t work. It doesn’t mean I’m weak. It just means I’m hiring an expert in that area. An accountant. I work with a company called CCK.

1
I’m just trying to get people real data here, real information. I work with a… And by the way, I can’t make a commission to endorse WintersKing.com, but I have asked. I just can’t get one. They’re not allowed to pay me a commission, but it’s WintersKing.com. I send them a lot of clients.

1
If you’re out there today and you want to change the law so I can’t get a commission, that’d be great. But Steve C.K., I send them a lot of business. But these guys, they’re my accounting service I’ve used for over a decade. And this is Kina, by the way, Kina, who we work with directly. And you say, why would you pay $3,000, $4,000 a month for an ongoing legal bill? Why would you pay $3,000, $4,000

1
a month for ongoing accounting coaching? Because I believe in coaching. That’s what I believe. I believe in it. I live it. I do it. I’m telling you folks, you’ve got to invest in yourself. Don’t be stuck. Moving on to box number nine. You’ve got to have systems and processes for everything. You’ve got to create repeatable systems, processes, and file organization. Folks, I’m telling you, you can’t build an organization if you’re not organized. Plastic, can you talk about the impact that’s made having Sean and our team

1
helping you organize your big vision into systems, checklists and processes?

9
Yeah, I remember before I started with you guys, I said, you know, one day I’m going to make a checklist and I’m going to run the business by that. And two years had gone by and I still didn’t have any checklist. So getting with you guys, you guys said, hey, we’re going to create a checklist. We want you to tell us everything that you need to do in the business day to day to be successful.

9
We made the checklist and then y’all held me accountable to mine. I started holding my staff accountable to theirs. And as a result, the clientele just began to grow and grow. Retention went higher and higher. And just because you don’t miss anything because you’re checking off the box as you do it. So there’s no reason anything can get missed because you really don’t have to

9
even think anymore.

1
What kind of an impact has having systems made on your mind freedom? And just your mind, because again, Charles Koloff, I’ve given Spiel so many examples, folks. I’m trying to give you so many examples of real people. There is no generalities here, folks. There’s no hyperbolic me just stating general ideas.

1
These are real people, real clients. CoLawFitness.com. Charles CoLaw has said on the show that the mind freedom he has of now having everything on a checklist has totally changed his life from a mental perspective. Can you talk about the impact it’s made on you having a checklist in place just from a mental perspective?

9
Yeah, been huge. I feel like it used to take me like 12 hours a day to run the back end of my business just because I was scatterbrained. With the checklist, I can run the whole back end in about an hour a day.

1
It used to take you, can you repeat that again, it used to take you how many hours per day?

9
10 to 12 hours a day to run the back end.

1
Wow, and now how much, how long does it take you now?

9
45 minutes to an hour, that’s it.

1
I’m taking notes here. It now takes 45 minutes to an hour. 45 minutes to an hour. That is incredible stuff. And again folks, you say why am I taking notes? I’m taking notes because everybody out there, you need to marinate on this stuff. You need to think

1
about your life, your business, where are you stuck and get unstuck. This is your year to get unstuck. Moving on to box number 10, management systems. I would argue that’s the biggest challenge for most of my clients once they start to generate leads and systems. It’s how do you manage people? People. Yeah. Sean, what percentage of your clients, before you’re able to help them, say,

11
I just can’t find good people. I can’t hire good people. Yeah, pretty much all of them. Why? Well, one is they don’t typically already have, before they meet us, a structure in place that makes that something that they can do consistently well. They don’t have a group interview system in place, which Placid has and has helped him grow his entire staff. They also don’t have the daily huddles and the weekly training meetings built in. Without those kind of rocks, those anchors, they struggle to both find people and manage people.

11
But with those systems that we teach, maybe Placid could talk a little bit about the daily huddles, the training meetings, and also the group interview of how that’s impacted his business.

1
I’m going to pull this up so people can, I want people to understand, I like, I do like

18
people.

1
Mm-hmm. Just have a concern about some people. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, this is not clayclark.com, 75% of employees are stealing from the workplace. And many do so repeatedly. U.S. Chamber, where am I getting this stat?

1
U.S. Chamber of Commerce is saying 75% of employees surveyed are going, yeah, I do take from the workplace. What? 75%? You say, come on. Come on. Gallup, folks, Gallup has their own studies as well.

1
You know, Forbes is now reporting, Inc. Magazine, their Inc. Magazine is reporting that 85% of employees now admit to just making up their resume entirely. People just totally making it up. Forbes is now saying that 70% of workers lie on their resumes. Now, in the medical space, I work with a lot of clients in the medical space.

1
So I think of clients like klortho.com. I think of people like drzelner.com. I think of people like Dr. Whitlock, Whitlock Cosmetic. I think of all these wonderful clients. And they’re telling me, the doctors are telling me now that in their industry, they’re getting people applying to be a doctor at their business who aren’t even doctors.

1
It’s unbelievable. Placid, I want to get your thoughts on the hiring system, because there’s somebody out there watching today’s show. They’re stuck, and they don’t know what you now know. Can you talk about the impact the hiring systems have made on your business?

9
Yeah, previously, I would book out times to do all these individual interviews. I’d set 30-minute slots, and my whole day would be filled with interviews. And if I had 20 scheduled, maybe two would show up, and the two that show up would both be terrible.

9
But since putting in the group interview process, I do the whole interview at once. There’s three things I’m looking for when they walk in the door. If I already tell them, they’re gonna be somebody I wanna meet with

9
for a second round shadow, and it should simplify the hiring process altogether. And then I had issues with trainers where if they would leave, I would lose like 30% revenue because they would take the clients with them.

9
But then you told me about the rotational staff and that has been a huge game changer. We don’t have any drought when trainers leave anymore.

1
That’s the move. I’m telling you folks, there’s a move for everything. There’s a system for everything. Yesterday, Sean, a long time client of mine, Colton Dixon, great guy, great friend of mine, musician. I think I have a photo from it.

1
He called me and he said, hey, I’m going to be performing at the BOK. And let me see if I can find it real quick. And he’s like, I’m performing to be OK. Would you like to take your kids to come see? That’s my Christmas photo. That’s not the Colton photo. Let’s find out. And so he says, hey, would you like to come out and see, you know, see me

1
perform or come watch? And I said, sure, man. So there we are yesterday. Kind of a super blurry photo. But there we are. And we’re there. And, you know, at this particular concert, at this particular event, there’s a system in place for everything

1
for that industry, too. And it’s music, which is entirely different than personal training, which is entirely different. Every industry that we work with, it’s a different industry, but many of the systems are still the same.

1
There’s somebody out there that needs to hear this. It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, you know this is Andrew Sorcini, a long time client, precious metals guy, no matter what business you’re in we can help you systemize that. Now Placid, there’s somebody watching today’s show and they’re thinking you know I my business is different. What would you say to somebody who thinks

1
that their business or industry is different and therefore they cannot be coached to increase profitability?

9
Yeah, you gotta humble yourself to get to the promised land. So they just got to understand that everything, if you break it down, it all comes down to systems. So theirs can be systemized as well. And they just need to just swallow the pill and they’ll get the results if they do that.

1
Now, my final two areas I want to focus on again, box number 11, creating a repetitive weekly schedule. Once you have the financial freedom, you want to also create time freedom and get a schedule you’re comfortable with. That’s box number 11. Box number 12, HR, create human resource systems and recruitment systems.

1
We’ve talked about that. There’s a lot of detail that goes into that. Box number 13, you have to know your numbers. And once you do that in place, now you’re at box 14 or step 14, which is determining what is the point of achieving financial success. And many of our clients get to a place where that is where they are.

1
And you, Placid, have elected to scale the company by franchising. So I wanted to talk here in the final five minutes we have you. Tell us about your vision for the future with your company. Where is it at now in terms of… What’s the vision if people go to builtphoenixstrong.org? Where do you see this company growing into?

1
Where do you see your vision progressing? If everything happens the way you see it in your mind, how will it manifest? Where do you see BuiltPhoenixStrong.org going?

9
Absolutely. We have a vision of we’re going to start throughout the Southeast, and we want to expand all throughout the U.S. and really become the number one fastest growing health and fitness franchise because far too often health and wellness isn’t done correctly. People don’t understand how to have visible and sustainable results. The diets, they’re way too strict.

9
People can’t stick to them. Trainers are leaving and clients are left not knowing how to continue their results. So we want to really change the way health and wellness is done. So we’re looking for other franchisees to join us so that we can really make America healthier as a whole as opposed to the way the industry is going right now in regards to health and wellness.

1
Now, final question for somebody who’s been watching this broadcast. I’ll ask you again here. What’s your first and last name and what kind of impact has coaching over these past few years made on your life and business?

9
My name is Placid Ajoku and coaching has completely changed my life. I couldn’t afford the lifestyle that I have now. I’ve been able to do things for my wife and my daughter that I wouldn’t have been able to do before. And more importantly, it’s given me peace. I spend more time with God.

9
I start my day with God and I really wouldn’t have been able to do any of that without the coaching and getting started with you guys. So thank you all again.

1
Yeah, we’re honored to work with you. Sean, any thoughts you want to share for anybody else who’s watching today’s show who maybe feels intimidated by the success that Placid’s now having? Any thoughts you want to share because you’ve worked with Placid quite a bit over the years. Any thoughts you’d have for anybody watching today’s show that feels stuck

11
and feels like, geez I could never get to that place? It’s all an iterative thing. I mean it’s, Clay, you always use the phrase Kaizen. It’s just about getting 2% better every week and Placid being a trainer himself and a coach, he knows that’s how it works with diet and nutrition the same way that’s how it works with your business. So you might be 100 pounds overweight, you can totally get in shape.

11
Placid would tell you that. Your business might be completely out of whack, you can totally get it into shape. It’s just going to be embracing that idea that it’s little by little and we can help you do that week by week. You said iteration. Can you hit on iteration for just a second for someone who maybe is not familiar with

11
that term or what that means in your mind. Iteration, what do you mean it’s an iterative thing? An iterative thing meaning like you know we’re gonna it’s a versionized thing like we can put a script in place but that’s one iteration of the script we’re gonna now test it so you talk about the phrase of define, act, measure, refine. Define, act, measure, refine and you just keep doing that until you’ve refined the business to where it’s ready to franchise and it might not

11
be anywhere near that point right now but it starts with let’s define what the next best 2% better step looks like. Let’s act on what we need to do to get it there. Let’s measure how it works, and then let’s refine from there. And if you keep doing that every week with a coaching program like we have, your business is going to get better.

11
It’s going to grow, and you’re going to end up with more money and more time.

1
Now, folks, on part two of today’s show, we are going to air a broadcast with the founder of Sky House. This is a home builder, giving you two different success stories. And again, if you’re watching today’s show, it’s $1,700 a month, $1,700 per month. There’s no funny business with the pricing, it’s just a flat monthly rate. And we only work with 160 clients because we want to work with great people that we can coach, coachable people.

1
We also have interactive workshops. We’ll tell you more about it on part two of today’s show, but I encourage everybody out there today is a homework assignment. Homework assignment! For everybody watching today’s show, someone says, that’s what I wanted, I wanted the homework,

1
what do I do, let me pull it up here. This is the homework assignment. Step one, I want everybody to go online right now to BuiltPhoenixStrong.com and just share the link on your socials, because that generates backlinks for our wonderful clients.

1
So you can just grab the link, share it on your social media platforms, that’s powerful, BuiltPhoenixStrong.org. And then finally, if you want to schedule a free 13-point assessment with myself, feel free to do that by going to Thrivetimeshow.com.

1
And as always, we’d love to see you at one of our in-person Thrivetimeshow workshops where we do charge $250 for a ticket, or we have scholarship tickets available to make it affordable for everybody. So, again, go to Thrivetimeshow.com. Placido Joku, thank you so much for your time today, sir, and we’ll talk to you soon.

9
Appreciate it, Joe.

1
Bye-bye.

29
Bye.

20
Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show. And thank you for all you do. I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects. You know what I mean?

4
People rave about what they learn from you.

37
So congratulations.

19
Clay Clark is here somewhere.

36
Where’s my buddy Clay? Clay, Clay Clark!

19
Clay! Clay’s the greatest. I met his goats today. I met his dogs. I met his chickens.

12
I saw his compound.

35
He’s like the greatest guy.

34
I ran from his goats, his chickens, his dogs.

9
So this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen, right?

12
His entire life, Clay Clark, his entire life is marketing.

1
Okay, Aaron Antis, March 6th and 7th, March 6th and 7th, guess who’s coming to Tulsa, Russia? Ooh, Santa Claus? No, that’s March, March 6th and 7th. We’re going to be joined by Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Kiyosaki, best-selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, possibly the best-selling or one of the best-selling business authors of all time. And he’s going to be joined with Eric Trump.

1
He’ll be joined by Eric Trump. We’ve got Eric Trump and Robert Kiyosaki in the same place. In the same place. Aaron, why should everybody show up to hear Robert Kiyosaki? Well, you got billions of dollars of business experience between those two, not to mention many, many, many millions of books have been sold.

1
Many, many millionaires have been made from the books that have been sold by Robert Kiyosaki. I happen to be one of them. I learned from the man. He was the inspiration.

2
That book was the inspiration for me to get the entrepreneurial spirit, as many other

1
people. Now, since you won’t brag on yourself I will. You’ve sold billions of dollars of houses am I correct? That is true. And the book that that kick-started it all for you, Rich Dad Poor Dad, the author, the best-selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki, the guy that kick-started your career, he’s gonna be here, he’s gonna be here, I’m ump. And now Eric Trump, people

1
don’t know this, but the Trump Organization has thousands of employees. There’s not 50 employees. The Trump Organization, again, most people don’t know this, but the Trump Organization has thousands of employees. And while Donald J. Trump was the 45th president of these United States and soon to be the 47th president

1
of these United States, he needed someone to run the companies for him. And so the man that runs the Trump Organization for Donald J. Trump as he was the 45th president of the United States and now the 47th president of the United States is Eric Trump. So Eric Trump is here to talk about time management,

1
promoting from within, marketing, branding, quality control, sales systems, workflow design, workflow mapping, how to build. I mean, everything that you see, the Trump hotels, the Trump golf courses, all their products, the man who manages billions of dollars of real estate

1
and thousands of employees is here to teach us how to do it. You are talking about one of the greatest brands on the planet from a business standpoint. I mean, who else has been able to create a brand like the Trump brand? I mean, look at it. And this is the man behind the business for the last, pretty much since 2015, he’s been the man behind it.

1
So you’re talking, we’re into nine, going into 10 years of him running it.

2
And we get to tap into that knowledge. That’s gonna be amazing.

1
Now think about this for a second. Would you buy a ticket just to see Robert Kiyosaki and Eric Trump? Of course you would. But we’re also going to be joined by Sean Baker. This is the best-selling author, the guy who invented the carnivore diet. Dr. Sean Baker has been on Joe Rogan multiple times. He’s gonna be joining us. You’ve got Robert Kiyosaki, the best selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Eric Trump, Sean Baker.

1
The lineup continues to grow, and this is how we do our tickets here at the Thrive Time Show. If you want to get a VIP ticket, you can absolutely do it. It’s $500 for a VIP ticket. We’ve always done it that way. Now, if you want to take a general admission ticket, it’s $250 or whatever price you want

1
to pay. And the reason why I do that and the reason why we do that is because we want to make our events affordable for everybody. I grew up without money. I totally understand what it’s like to be in a tight spot. So if you want to attend, it’s $250 or whatever price

1
you want to pay. That’s how I do it. And it’s $500 for a VIP ticket. Now, we only have limited seating here. But the most people we’ve ever had in this building was for the Jim Brewer presentation.

1
Jim Brewer came here. The legendary comedian Jim Brewer came to Tulsa. And we had 419 people that were here, 419 people. And I thought to myself, there’s no more room. I felt kind of bad that a couple of people had VIP seats in the men’s restroom.

1
Oh, no, I’m just kidding. So I thought, you know what, we should probably add on. So we’re adding on what we call the upper deck, or the top shelf. The seats are very close to the presenters, but we’re actually building right now.

1
We’re adding on to the facility to make room to accommodate another 30 attendees or more. So again, if you want to get tickets for this event, all you have to do is go to Thrivetimeshow.com go to Thrivetimeshow.com. When you go to Thrivetimeshow.com, you’ll go there, you’ll request a ticket, boom. Or if you want to text me, if you want a little bit

1
faster service, you say, I want you to call me right now. Just text my number. That’s my cell phone number, my personal cell phone number. We’ll keep that private between you, between you, me, everybody. We’ll keep that private. And anybody, don’t share that with anybody except for everybody. That’s my private cell phone number.

1
It’s 918-851-0102. 918-851-0102. I know we have a lot of Spanish-speaking people that attend these conferences. And to be bilingually sensitive, my cell phone number is 918-851-0102.

2
That is not actually bilingual. That’s just saying Juan for a Juan.

33
It’s not the same thing.

1
I think you’re attacking me. Now, let’s talk about this. Now, what kind of stuff will you learn at the Thrive Time Show workshop? So Aaron, you’ve been to many of these over the past seven,

32
eight years.

1
So let’s talk about it. I’ll tee up the thing, and then you tell me what you’re going to learn here, OK?

30
OK.

1
You’re going to learn marketing, marketing and branding. What are we going to learn about marketing and branding?

31
Oh, yeah.

1
We’re going to dive into, you know, so many people say,

2
oh, you know, I got to get my brand known out there, like the Trump brand. For you want to get that brand out there, it’s like, how do I actually make people know what my business is and make it a household name? You’re going to learn some intricacies

30
of how you can do that.

1
You’re going to learn sales. So many people struggle to sell something. This just in, your business will go to hell if you can’t sell. So we’re going to teach you sales. We’re going to teach you search engine optimization, how to come up top in the search engine results.

1
We’re going to teach you how to manage people. Aaron, you have managed, no exaggeration, hundreds of people throughout your career and thousands of contractors, and most people struggle with managing people. Why does everybody have to learn how to manage people? Well, because first of all, you either have great people or you have people who suck. It can be a challenge.

1
You know, learning how to work with a large group of people and get everybody pulling in the same direction can be a challenge. But if you have the right systems, you have the right processes, and you’re really good at selecting great ones,

1
and we have a process we teach about how to find great people. When you start with the people who have a great attitude, they’re teachable, they’re driven, all of those things, then you can get those people

17
all pulling in the same direction.

1
So we’re going to teach you branding, marketing, sales, search engine optimization. We’re going to teach you accounting. We’re going to teach you personal finance, how to manage your finance. We’re going to teach you time management.

1
How do you manage your time? How do you get more done during a typical day? How do you build an organization if you’re not organized? How do you do organization? How do you build an org chart? Everything that you need to know to start and grow a business will be

1
taught during this two-day interactive business workshop. Now let me tell you how the format is set up here. Again folks, this is a two-day interactive 15 Think about this folks. It’s two days. Each day it starts at 7 a.m. and it goes until 5 p.m. So from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. two days. It’s a two-day interactive workshop. The way we do it is we do a 30-minute teaching session and then we break for 15 minutes for a question and answer session. So Aaron, what kind of great stuff happens during that 15-minute question and answer

1
session after every teaching session? I actually think it’s the best part about the workshops because here’s what happens. I’ve been to lots of these things over the years. I’ve paid many thousands of dollars to go to them and you go in there and they talk in vague generalities and they’re constantly upselling you for something, trying to get you to buy this thing or that thing

1
or this program or this membership. And you don’t, you leave not getting your very specific questions answered about your business or your employees or what you’re doing on your marketing. And what’s awesome about this is we literally answer every single question that any person asks.

2
And it’s very specific to what your business is.

1
And what we do is we allow you as the attendee to write your questions on the whiteboard. And then we, literally, as you mentioned, we answer every single question on the whiteboard. And then we take a 15-minute break to stretch and to make it entertaining when you’re stretching. And this is a true story. When you get up and stretch, you’ll be greeted by mariachis.

1
There’s going to probably be alpaca here, llamas, helicopter rides, a coffee bar, a snow cone. I mean, there’s just… You had a crocodile one time.

2
That was pretty interesting.

1
You know, I should write that down. And I can do that.

2
Sorry for that one guy that we lost.

1
The crocodile, we duct taped its face. So that’s right, we duct taped. It was a baby crocodile. And we duct taped. Yeah, duct taped around the mouth so it didn’t bite anybody.

1
But it was really cool passing that thing around. In fact, I should do that. We have a small petting zoo that will be assembled. It’s going to be great. And then you’re in the company of hundreds of entrepreneurs. So there’s not a lot of people in America today.

1
In fact, there’s less than 10 million people today, according to US Debt Clock, that identify as being self-employed. So if you have a country with 350 million people, that means you have less than 3% of our population that’s even self-employed. So you only have three out of every 100 people in America

1
that are self-employed to begin with. And when Inc. Magazine reports that 96% of businesses fail by default. By default, you have a 1 out of 1,000 chance of succeeding in the game of business. But yet, the average client that you and I work with, we can typically double the size.

1
No hyperbole, no exaggeration. I have thousands of testimonials to back this up. We have thousands of testimonials to back it up. But when you work with a home builder, when I work with a business owner, we can typically double the size of the company within 24 months.

1
Yeah. Double, and you say double? Yeah, there’s businesses that we have tripled. There’s businesses we’ve grown 8x. There’s so many examples you can see at thrivetimeshow.com. But again, this is the most interactive, best business workshop on the planet.

1
This is objectively the highest rated and most reviewed business workshop on the planet. And then you add to that Robert Kiyosaki, the bestselling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad. You add to that Eric Trump, the man that runs the Trump Organization, you add to that Sean Baker, now you might say, Clay, is there more? I need more! Well, okay, Tom Wheelwright is the wealth strategist for Robert Kiyosaki.

1
So people say, Robert Kiyosaki, who’s his financial wealth advisor? Who’s the guy who manages, who’s his wealth strategist? His wealth strategist, Tom Wheelwright, will be here. And you say, Clay, I still, I’m not going to get a ticket unless you give me more. OK, fine.

1
We’re going to serve you the same meal both days. True story. We cater in food. And because I keep it simple, I literally bring in the same food both days for lunch. It’s Ted Escovedo’s, an incredible Mexican restaurant.

1
That’s going to happen. And Jill Donovan, our good friend, who is the founder of Rustic Cuff. She started that company in her home and now she sells millions of dollars of Maryland products. That’s rusticcuff.com. And someone says, I want more! This is not enough! Give me more. Okay, I’m not gonna mention their names right now because I’m working on it behind the scenes

1
here. But we’ve got one guy who’s giving me a verbal to be here. And this is a guy who’s one of the wealthiest people in Oklahoma and nobody really knows who he is because he’s built systems that are very utilitarian, that offer a lot of value. He’s made a lot of money in the, it’s the, it’s where you rent, it’s short term, it’s where you’re renting storage spaces. He’s a storage space guy.

1
He owns the, what do you call that? The rental, the storage space, storage units. This guy owns storage units. He owns railroad cars. He owns a lot of assets that make money on a daily basis, but they’re not like customer facing.

1
Most people don’t know who owns the mini storage facility, or most people don’t know who owns the warehouse that’s passively making money. Most people don’t know who owns the railroad cars. But this guy, he’s given me a verbal that he will be here. And we just continue to add more and more success stories. So if you’re out there today and you want to change your life, you want to give yourself a incredible gift.

1
You want a life-changing experience. You want to learn how to start and grow a company. Go to Thrivetimeshow.com. Go there right now. Thrivetimeshow.com. Request a ticket for the two-day interactive event.

1
Again, the day here is March 6th and 7th. March 6th and 7th. We just got confirmation. Robert Kiyosaki, best-selling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad. He’ll be here. Eric Trump, the man who leads the Trump organization.

1
It’s going to be a blasty blast. There’s no upsells. Aaron, I could not be more excited about this event. I think it is incredible and there’s somebody out there right now you’re you’re watching and you’re like, but I already signed up for this incredible other program called Smoke Your Way to Thin.

2
I think that’s going to change your life. I promise you this will be 10 times

28
better than that. It’s like I picked the wrong week for

2
smoking. Don’t do the smoke your way to thin conference. That is…

30
I’ve tried it.

1
Don’t do it. Chain smoking is not a viable… I mean, it is life-changing. It is life-changing.

29
If you become a chain smoker, it is life-changing.

1
It’s not the best weight loss program, though. Right. Not really. So if you’re looking to have life-changing results in a way that won’t cause you to have a stoma, get your tickets at Thrivetimeshow.com. Again, that’s Aaron Antist, I’m Clay Clark, reminding you and inviting you to come out

1
to the two-day interactive Thrive Time Show Workshop right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I promise you, it will be a life-changing experience. We can’t wait to see you right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

12
Hi there, I just wanted to take a quick minute to thank Clay and his team at Thrive Time. I attended a conference a couple of months back and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. Just a ton of practical information that you can really implement in any business. Started with a coaching program, you know, a short while thereafter and we’re already ranking at the top of Google for a couple of keywords here at our firm, which is, you

12
know, ahead of schedule and we’re super excited about that. Also, with the coaching program, these are proven business strategies that I’ve been learning about for years here, but where they’ve really helped is how to prioritize those strategies. As entrepreneurs, we all only have 168 hours in the week and you know which ones are going to move the ball down the field the quickest. So Clay, I know the optimism and momentum is important to you. So three, two, one, boom.

7
My name is Bronson Schubert. I’m from Edmond, Oklahoma. I heard about it on the podcast, started listening to the podcast, became a fan and then figured out about the workshop. I own an insurance and financial services agency. And I was hoping to learn from the workshop, systems and processes. I’m big on systems and processes and always learning better ways to run a business

7
more efficiently. The atmosphere is second to none. It’s a high energy, really cool atmosphere to be around. Contagious, I would say. Just something every entrepreneur I think would appreciate and love. I’d say humorous, high energy, and full of substance, which I think is the key. A lot of business coaches or seminars maybe are high on motivation and making you feel good, but don’t have a lot of substance that you can take back and implement the following Monday, where his does.

7
Man, that’s a lot of valuable things. I’m going to say, I came to this as my second workshop. The first workshop I took back really the importance of a group interview. I used to spend hours and hours interviewing people, screening resumes, and that saving my time on that part is valuable. It was that and then the sales scripting that have been two major things just so far. I think they’re missing out on expert advice from somebody who’s been there, done that, built companies, has

7
learned a lot of lessons. You know, that’s what I’m always looking for is somebody that I can learn from that’s ahead of where I am. And I think if you choose not to come, you’re missing out on a lot of good advice that could help your business. Hi, this is Charles and Amber Colaw.

7
We’re the owners of Colaw Fitness. We heard about Clay Clark through Paul Hood, our CPA. We’ve worked with Clay Clark for the last two years. Clay Clark is a great guy. He’s a great guy. He’s a great guy.

7
He’s a great guy.

4
Clay Clark through Paul Hood, our CPA. We’ve worked with Clay Clark for the last two years. Clay Clark has helped us take our three locations in three different states and create checklists, workflows, task lists, time blocks for every employee. He’s helped us with creating systems and audits

4
for every department, quantitative scorecards for each department and every position so that everybody has a number. It’s been able to give us a lot of time freedom and financial freedom and peace of mind to know that everything’s running efficiently. And he’s been helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization,

13
helping us really rank high in Google, and pretty much every area of the business. He’s been very, very motivating, but also accountable. So he keeps us accountable and we love that accountability. It keeps our drive in the right direction so we’re not chasing things that aren’t worth spending our time on.

4
He’s a great coach. He helps push us on certain areas, helps coach us in certain areas. You know, we’re all emotional creatures and we go up and down and he actually will tell us kind of where we’re at, how we can get from there, and even like emotionally like when we’re stressed about something, you’ll have a story to relate to and it really helps us in every area of our

13
business. It’s been very, very helpful. I think Clay’s ability to have a whole team behind him that help him with all of his clients, all his coaching clients, is that it allows Clay to do what he’s really good at, and that’s working one-on-one with the client and coaching them. And then he can have his amazing staff come in and help you accomplish all these goals for your set.

4
And of course he has all these resources, whether it’s videographers or whether it’s web developers, that they can quickly jump on your project, knock things out, he can quickly give you the right coaching. He’s just got a whole team of people that whatever area you’re lacking in, in your own company, he’s got resources from like video, web design, search engine guys who are just, you know, knowledgeable in that. Even though he knows a lot of that stuff, he’s got these capable lieutenants that

4
are ready to just take off and help you get that stuff. More stuff gets done on a weekly basis than you would on like probably most.

28
Individual.

4
Yeah, than the individual or some other. We’ve worked with several companies before. It’s just not as many things get done on a weekly basis. It’s been very helpful. Well, the conferences for me, I’m a slow learner. So I have to learn like over and over again,

4
hear things over and over again. I’ve been to like, I think eight different conferences. And each time you come, I learn a few new components. Some things are repetitive, but a lot of the stuff just resettles and I get a little bit more depth into each component.

4
So, I mean, I’ve been to eight of them. They’re all super entertaining. He’s very funny, very encouraging. He gets to kind of self-reflect a lot. A lot of the stuff is really polarizing. You do a personal inventory of yourself

4
and you’ll think like, hey, I’ve really got to work on this, really got to work on that. So every time you come, I still get a lot of value out of it.

13
And as much as every conference is the same, it’s totally different. So I think we’ll hear stories we haven’t heard before. They’ll have entertainment, or they’ll have speakers you didn’t have before. And you, like you said, you just always catch a different part of the material that maybe you didn’t catch before. It’s worded differently.

4
And it’s really cool because some people that you’ve seen like a year ago at a conference, now they’re being showcased as a success story and you get to see their website, you get to see how their stats and all their metrics have improved and the revenue improved. So it’s really cool to see people that just a year ago, that of course we’ve been here two years, that just came, that I met, is now being successful. It’s really encouraging to see other people, you know, accomplish that stuff. So Clay has helped us optimize our website and helped with really topping

4
the right search engines that we need to make sure that we are very, very competitive with all of our other competitors. He’s done, basically he outlines exactly what you need to be accomplishing and he creates tasks that we have to accomplish and his team has to accomplish. I would say over the last two years, we’ve totally ramped our website. We’re topping Google in every one of our markets. We’re just doing, I would say, just doing really, really good.

4
I feel very, very confident in all of our future locations and making sure that we’re in front of the ideal and likely buyer. It’s very encouraging. It’s important to me to know when I’m working with Clay, I’ve been in business for a while and met with him even when I already had three businesses in three different states.

4
And to know that what I share with him is staying private, he’s not sending that out to anybody else. To know that when he’s working with me, he’s only working with one other, no other gyms that are in direct competition with me. It’s very encouraging to have somebody you can trust and rely on, that he isn’t going to like somehow tell your trade secrets or give information away.

4
Just really awesome that he’s a trustworthy guy, really cares about you as a client. For us, it’s been a complete mind freedom because Clay has helped us create a lot of different documents and one sheets for every department,

4
put quantitative scorecards to each department. And so for us, it’s been very encouraging. It gives us peace. And when you’re like as an entrepreneur, it’s stressful. You go to bed at night, you’re worried, like, did we cover this, did we cover that?

4
So he helps extract everything out of your brain, everything from your business, put it into document creation, put it into checklists and workflows for every person in each department, and make sure that everything’s getting done every week, every month, and funnel that all into KPIs or key performance indicators, as you can see, on a weekly basis to make sure you’re moving the needle in the right area of your company. So it’s very encouraging and gives you a complete mind, freedom and peace to know that that

4
stuff is created so you’re easy to duplicate and scale your company.

6
Right, and then we can spend time doing what we’re really good at and just trust the system.

4
I honestly believe everybody needs a coach. I think we’re all inherently lazy, selfish and carnal. I truly believe that humans are humans. If we’re standing, we’d rather sit. If we’re sitting, we’d rather lay down. And if we’re laying down, we’d rather be asleep.

4
So to have somebody that challenges you, have real active candor, and be honest with you on every aspect of your company is really, really encouraging to me because I want to know, I want to work on what we’re weak at. I want to see any areas that we’re not doing well in and see his perspective from a third party because you can look at your own business and just see the good. It’s good to have somebody who does this, who’s done this

4
with hundreds of companies. You know, really look at your company, reflect on your company and see like little chinks in the armor to make sure you’re covering that up so your competition can’t get to you and that you’re successful overall in the big picture. Yes, I would recommend Clay Clark because he is a great friend, great encourager. To me, he’s been a wonderful friend. He’s also, you can tell he cares.

4
And he also, he has such a wealth of knowledge. He’s worked with so many different companies and different businesses. He can take a concept that he’s used before in the past with somebody in a totally different industry and see how it would work perfectly for you

4
in whatever niche market you’re in or whatever type of service you’re providing. And so his brain is just a wealth of knowledge and just to have that type of perspective as a part of your team and your own company is huge and super valuable. So I would definitely encourage people to use him.

4
But one thing is you’ve got to be coachable. You’ve got to be wanting to get feedback. You’ve got to be wanting to really grow your company. You’ve got to want to put that extra 10 hours a week to working on your business and not just in your business. And so, yes, I would recommend it to anybody who’s wanting to grow their company and provide great systems,

4
checklists, workflows, great encouragement, and have accountability.

2
Hi, I’m Aaron Antus with Shaw Homes. I first heard about Clay through a mortgage lender here in town who had told me what a great job he had been doing for them. And I actually noticed he was driving a Lamborghini all of a sudden. So I was willing to listen. In my career, I’ve sold a little over $800 million

2
in real estate. So honestly, I thought I kind of knew everything about marketing and homes. And then I met Clay, and my perception of what I knew and what I could do definitely changed. After doing $800 million in sales over a 15 year career, I really thought I knew what I was doing.

2
I’ve been managing a large team of sales people for the last 10 years here with Shaw Homes. And, I mean, we’ve been a company that’s been in business for 35 years. We’ve become one of the largest builders in the Tulsa area, and that was without Clay. So when I came to know Clay, I really thought, man, there’s not much more I need to know, but I’m willing to listen. The interesting thing is our internet leads from our website has actually in a four-month

2
period of time has gone from somewhere around 10 to 15 leads in a month to 180 internet leads in a month. Just from the few things that he’s shown us how to implement that I honestly probably never would have come up with on my own. So I got a lot of good things to say about the system that Clay put in place with us and it’s just been an incredible experience. I am very glad that we met and had the opportunity to

2
work with Clay. So the interaction with the team and with Clay on a weekly basis is honestly very enlightening. One of the things that I love about Clay’s perspective on things is that he doesn’t come from my industry. He’s not somebody who’s in the home building industry. I’ve listened to all the experts in my field. Our company has paid for me to go to seminars, international builder shows, all kinds of

2
places where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the experts in my industry. But the thing that I found working with Clay is that he comes from such a broad spectrum of working with so many different types of businesses that he has a perspective that’s difficult for me to gain because I get so entrenched in what I do, I’m not paying attention to what other leading industry experts are doing, and Clay really brings that perspective for me. It is very valuable time every week when I get that hour with him. From my perspective, the reason that any business owner who’s thinking about hooking up with

2
Thrive needs to definitely consider it is because the results that we’ve gotten in a very short period of time are honestly monumental. It has really exceeded my wildest expectation of what he might be able to do. I came in skeptical because I’m very pragmatic and as I’ve gone through the process over just a few months,

2
I’ve realized it’s probably one of the best moves we’ve ever made. I think a lot of people probably feel like they don’t need a business or marketing consultant because they maybe are a little bit prideful and like to think they know everything.

2
I know that’s how I felt coming in. I mean, we’re a big company that’s definitely one of the largest in town. And so we kind of felt like we knew what we were doing. And I think for a lot of people, they let their ego get in the way of listening to somebody

2
that might have a better or different perspective than theirs. I would just really encourage you, if you’re thinking about working with Clay, I mean, the thing is, it’s month to month. Go give it a try and see what happens.

2
I think in the 35 year history of Shaw Homes, this is probably the best thing that’s happened to us. And I know if you give them a shot, I think you’ll feel the same way. I know for me, the thing I would have missed out on if I didn’t work with Clay is I would have missed out on literally an 1800% increase in our internet leads.

2
Going from 10 a month to 180 a month, that would have been a huge financial decision to just decide not to give it a shot. I would recommend Clay Clark to anybody who’s thinking about working with somebody in marketing. I would skip over anybody else you were thinking about, and I would go straight to Clay and his team. I guarantee you’re not going to regret it, because we sure haven’t.

6
My name is Danielle Sprick, and I am the founder of D. Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years and my three kids started school and they were in school full-time, I was at a crossroads and trying to decide, what do I want to do? My degree and my background is in education,

6
but after being a mom and staying home and all of that, I just didn’t have a passion for it like I once did. My husband suggested real estate. He’s a home builder, so real estate and home building go hand in hand, and we just rolled with it. I love people, I love working with people, I love building relationships, but one thing that was really difficult for me was the business side of things. The processes and the advertising and marketing. I knew that I did not have what I needed to make

6
that what it should be. So I reached out to Clay at that time, and he and his team have been extremely instrumental in helping us build our brand, help market our business, our agents, the homes that we represent. Everything that we do is a direct line from Clay and his team and all that they’ve done for us. We launched our brokerage, our real estate brokerage, eight months ago. And in that time, we’ve gone from myself and one other agent to just this week, we signed on our 16th agent.

6
We have been blessed with the fact that we right now have just over 10 million in pending transactions. Three years ago, I never would have even imagined that I would be in this role that I’m in today, building a business, having 16 agents, but I have to give credit where credit’s due. And Clay and his team and the business coaching

6
that they’ve offered us has been huge. It’s been instrumental in what we’re doing. Don’t ever limit your vision. When you dream big, big things happen.

4
I started a business because I couldn’t work for anyone else. I do things my way. I do what I think is in the best interest of the patient. I don’t answer insurance companies. I don’t answer to large corporate organizations. I answer to my patient and that’s it.

4
My thought when I opened my clinic was I can do this all myself. I don’t need additional outside help in many ways. I mean, I went to medical school, I can figure this out. But it was a very,

8
very steep learning curve. Within the first six months of opening my clinic, I had a

27
$63,000 investment.

8
I lost multiple employees. Clay helped us weather the storm of some of the things that are just a lot of people experience, especially in the medical world. He was instrumental in helping with the specific written business plan. He’s been instrumental in hiring good quality employees, using the processes that he outlines for getting in good talent, which is extremely difficult.

8
He helped me in securing the business loans. He helped me with web development and search engine optimization. We’ve been able to really keep a steady stream of clients coming in because they found us on the web. With everything that I encountered, everything that I experienced,

8
I quickly learned it is worth every penny to have someone in your team that can walk you through and even avoid some of the pitfalls that are almost invariable in starting your own business. I’m Dr. Chad Edwards and I own Revolution Health and Wellness Clinic.

20
Clay, my honor, my honor to be on your show and thank you for all you do.

1
I hear the ripple effects from you are good ripple effects.

23
You know what I mean?

20
People rave about what they learn from you, so congratulations.

14
And we went from expecting maybe 250,000 this year to we’re at 400,000. Hi, I’m Kelsey with K&D’s Woodfinishing. I’m a business owner at 23. So, I’ve been working at this K&D’s company for about 5 years now and we started working with Thrive not too long ago. And we went from expecting maybe 250,000 this year to we’re at 400,000. That’s what we’re going to hit or exceed. So we’re pretty excited about that. It’s been pretty much just listening to what

14
they have to say, their hiring process has just really been incredible as far as finding good quality help and the, just the accountability of meeting up with them weekly and like such good insight, the resources that they have for specific business questions. It’s all been really incredible. It’s been a great experience. So I’d recommend it to anybody.

16
And to be honest with you, we’re just blown away with the results we’ve had in just one quarter. It was one of the best things I’ve ever spent. It’s been a very positive experience. We’ve only been at it for six months or so and we’ve already seen a significant amount of growth and I can see everything becoming much more organized, much more efficient. I know what my numbers are in a much more realistic way on a day-to-day basis. So

16
my experience has just been very positive overall.

1
You know, since working with Aaron, our leads have gone up dramatically. It’s not one of those things where it’s like, yeah, you kind of notice it’s holy cow, we’re all these, it’s, you almost feel overwhelmed at times. And it’s just, our presence in general has been changed

1
just dramatically, like plenty. He was dropping his wife off at the airport and he had a splint rock hat on and there was some other construction companies there and they asked him, it’s like, where the heck did you guys come from? You guys are everywhere now.

1
And it’s, you just can’t get away from how noticeable of a difference that it makes. There’s just, there’s no denying. You know, just on a personal level, as far as what it’s like to work with Aaron, he is just a consummate professional and just with an immense amount of dedication to the task at hand and just to you as a company, trying to help you succeed. And I think I’ve said this before,

1
but his just availability to you, and he’s genuinely invested in your success.

26
And it’s just, it’s been wonderful.

25
And I feel like that’s why the two of you

17
work great together. Joe, to me, obviously, the more technical, you’re probably the more visionary. And that’s like the two of it come together is what makes it work. And it’s like a missing piece for us that I enjoy having.

5
Hi, I’m Amy Chaney. My husband and I are owners of Chaney Construction here in Pampa, Texas, and I was a little skeptical at first because my husband tried to do things like this before, but once I was able to speak with Clay myself, I thought we need to give this a chance. So we were able to determine that the savings that we have from the decision that we made each month is going to be roughly about $2,000 a week, so it’s about eight grand a month. Plus we also made the decision to get rid of a billboard that

5
hadn’t really brought us any business, and that was another $475 a month. It’s really in at $8,500 a month and that’s a really big deal. So my first thought when Clay introduced us to the weekly Know Your Numbers system was no big deal, we don’t need to do that. We have a secretary that’s an amazing QuickBooks person and so she enters all of that stuff every single day for us. So we don’t need to do that ourselves.

5
QuickBooks will pull a report. That’s all we need. We don’t need anything else. There’s no sense in me double duty. Clay, do you understand how many transactions are in our bank statement every single month?

5
It would take me forever to do. And so very resistant because I thought, we already know our numbers. We already have everything into QuickBooks and we already know what we need to know and we can pull a report

5
to provide you with that information. So some of the struggles in being able to complete this action item were getting the want to do it. Once I actually decided, okay, Clay, you can stop asking me, I’m actually gonna sit down and do this every single week,

5
and actually got through it, that was it. Like, I’ve made that commitment. It takes me maybe 20 minutes on every Saturday morning to go in and do the previous weeks. Now that I’ve been doing it for a while, I’m kind of on a roll, and so it makes it a lot easier.

5
So one of the things we discovered when we started looking at the money this closely was that my husband doesn’t want to know the numbers, first of all. He pays good money to have someone do that for him because he just doesn’t want to know.

5
It’s not his thing. And so I had worked for an accountant previous to this, so that’s kind of my thing. And so for him to be able to sit down and take a look and see and some of the things we’re spending the money on that he probably didn’t even realize

5
or to realize how much we’ve been paying some employees that were not operating as A players. And that was the big eye-opener for my husband. But when he saw the numbers of what we were paying in payroll expenses for two players, for two team members that were not operating as A players and hadn’t been for quite some time, that was a huge eye-opener for him and he realized that

5
he needed to take that emotion out of that decision and make it a business decision. It’s accountability for your secretary as well, or your bookkeeper, whoever does your book. Especially if it’s not yourself, because if you’ve not ever had anybody embezzle money from you, then you’re very fortunate. So it’s really good to have that accountability. We’ve had that happen in the past to us. My secretary actually even came back to me and said,

5
appreciate that you’re doing this now because now at the end of the month if there’s not any money then you know exactly where the money is lit. You and Jimmy have known exactly where the money is gone so we’re not coming to her going where’s all our money. You know, it’s not a good position for her to be in either. So like I said just knowing where your dimes are going is a huge deal and being able to know where to cut back from that’s the

5
deal but also the accountability for everyone on the team.

6
My name is Danielle Sprick, and I am the founder of D. Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 4
What I’ve seen from Clay and his group at Thrive is they’ll give you a simple system and it’s the simple systems are the ones that people can wrap their brain around. They’re the ones that people can work with on a day-to-day basis.

3
Hi there. My name is Stephanie Pipkin. I am 24 years old, and I own Black River Falls Cleaning Services. We opened in April of 2019, and it is now mid-June of 2020. So I wanted to talk today about the success and growth

3
I have achieved by implementing the Proven Path with Clay Clark’s team and my business coach Luke from Thrive Time. It has been insane, to say the least. I started working with them in mid-February of this year, so we’re about four months in of working together and it has completely transformed my business in pretty much every facet. So I’m going to check my notes here. So in four months my leads have tripled. I was getting probably like two leads a week, now I’m getting more in the like 10 to 15 leads a week. I have doubled my number of employees. I’m now hitting the highest

3
revenue weeks in the history of the company, week to week it seems like. We went from about six appointments today as our highest in February to now 14 to 15 appointments a day. And hiring quality employees has become much simpler and less stressful by using their systems for hiring. I typically only get maybe two complaints a month if that and everybody shows up to work. I just have really high quality employees now, especially in something people typically consider a high turnover type of work You know cleaning houses cleaning businesses

3
I have amazing employees now and I get rid of the ones who are not so amazing and bring on new ones because of You know group interviews and higher interviewing every single week. It’s just been great and such a I don’t waste as much time on on low quality candidates anymore. And your coach will hold you accountable, I mean, which I love.

3
Again, the tough love is really great. You know, looks like a stern father figure, but he’s also nice, but also stern when he needs to be, when I’m being lazy and not doing the things that I know I need to do,

3
because I don’t want to do them. So that’s just great. Worth every penny. I mean, I’d pay him a million dollars a month if I can, and maybe someday I’ll be able to, but I would just say go for it. If it seems like a good fit, just go for it.

3
Do what they say, even if you think it’s stupid or ridiculous, just do what they say because it’ll work. You know, people, when they look at my business, you know, people in my town, they think I’m lucky. They think I’m just, you know, things just happen for me. And you know, maybe I am lucky,

3
but it has a lot to do with hard work and, you know, perseverance and, you know, working till you cry sometimes. That’s just being an entrepreneur, which if you’re a business owner, you understand that. But it’s having these systems in place of, you know, of course I’m going to be successful. It’s an absolute because I have all this stuff in the background happening, and I have Luke and Clay and everybody on their team working really hard to make sure that I’m a success and I can tell that they are just so excited every single

3
week when I’m having all these wins and things like that. They’re so excited for me. So it just it’s the best thing ever and I would suggest to anybody to work with them. So sorry for the long-winded reply but I just had so much to say and I could go on for hours probably about how amazing they are. But thank you to Clay and Luke and the entire team there. Everything you guys have done for me, and I am so excited to continue to work with you for years to come. Thanks so much for watching.

20
My saying is, if it’s important to you, hire a coach. And I think that’s one of the reasons people are not successful is they eat a cheeseburger instead of hiring a coach.

23
You know what I mean?

20
me, they’re younger than me, they push harder, they’re trained, and as my rich dad always said, you know, amateurs don’t have a coach, but professionals always have coaches. So I’ve always had coaches for whatever was important. My rich dad was one of those persons. My rich dad was one of those persons. I wanted to learn how to play Monopoly in real life, so he was my coach.
