My name is Cody Albright and this is my wife…

… and we are from Inola, Oklahoma. We don’t actually own a business yet. We’re starting a business with my father-in-law, her dad, Sierra Pools and Spas.

Rachel Albright:

We actually heard about it from my dad who listens to the ThriveTimeShow on 1170 and he’s an entrepreneur, so he recommended this conference to us. I have learned really just the skills to get started with the business. I came in not knowing even where to start, where to begin, just feeling a little bit overwhelmed with the whole process, and I feel like Clay really gave us the information to not only get started, but once we do get started to get moving with the business and actually get things rolling.

Cody Albright:

Being in the beginning process, I don’t know much. Coming into this conference, I didn’t know much about sales, business, marketing, and nothing I learned in high school. So, I feel like I learned actually a tremendous amount of things, practical things I could put to use. I would describe it very welcoming, atmospheric, warm… Is that a word?

Rachel Albright:

Yeah, it’s very relaxed. Clay’s a very great speaker. He made it really fun, lots of energy. Say it was a great experience,

Cody Albright:

Very homey.

Rachel Albright:

It’s awesome. It’s a little bit eclectic, but you definitely get a sense of what they believe in, and their energy here, and their purpose here. You can definitely see it all over the walls and everywhere.

Cody Albright:

I would describe him a very well communicator, very funny, very energetic, very passionate, very knowledgeable, and just fun to listen to.

Rachel Albright:

It was very interactive. Clay always was there to answer any questions that we have. At any point we could ask any questions and he was very willing to answer them, and even in between, he’s very approachable. Talk to him about anything. I would say they’re missing just the jumpstart to get their business to a place where it’s serving them and where it’s really making the profit that they want to see. It’s accomplishing the goals that they have in their mind, or say they’re missing the practical skills to make that happen. Clay does not try to upsell you on anything. He’s definitely here to just help you out. He wants to give you all the skills that you need to get your business where you want it to be so there’s no pressure. It’s totally relaxed.

Cody Albright:

Yes, I describe it no pressure, and I’m a people pleaser, so I would fall into those sort of things. Yeah, I would say it’s very relaxed, very non-pushy.

Rachel Albright:

It’s definitely worth your time. It’s definitely worth the money, because all the things that he’s going to teach you, you learn them in a very quick amount of time, but they’re all very applicable if you actually put in the time to use them.

Cody Albright:

Hey there, Cody with Sierra Pools and Spas. Just a few system wins that I’ve had that Marshall and Thrive15 has really helped me with. One thing in construction. My construction manager, he used to call me all the time. One thing that Marshall recommended that we have a set time that he calls me every day. He’d call me constantly and I never gave him a time like, “Hey, this is when you can call me.” So, he’s probably afraid to call me, but I set a time every day at 11:00 AM that he calls me with all the updates and stuff like that, so that that’s really helped so far. He doesn’t call me as much anymore. I made a joke out of it. That’s kind of like our time that we spend together at 11:00 AM every day that he gives me on the updates.

Another system win that I just dreaded was calling the clients every day to give them an update on their pool process. I don’t like being called every day, so I really didn’t like this idea at first, but I have to say at the end of it, it’s really helped really me feel better about the process and it definitely helps them see the vision of the project and they’re always in the know. They always know what’s happening. So, at first I was real hesitant of it, but now I see the benefit of it. It’s really helped our process and I don’t have to feel stressed about the clients are going to be angry at me. They always know what’s going on, so it’s really helped them a lot. We do the hiring process too. Every Wednesdays the group interviews, this is another thing real hesitant on doing. I just thought it was going to take a lot of time out of our week, but really it’s been really good just weeding out the people that we know that we aren’t going to hire, can’t even show up to a meeting, but it’s really helped us.

At first if I didn’t know about this system, I would’ve been frustrated and real stressed out, trying to find time for people that say they can’t make it at a certain time, but we just say, “Hey man, we just do interviews Wednesday at 5:00 PM” and just kind of leave it at that. Another thing we use that’s been really helpful is just putting everything on a calendar. I just put everything that I’m doing for the week, or the next week or so. I just put it all on a calendar so I could see everything on there. I wasn’t really an organized person. I didn’t ever use a planner in school, so this has really helped seeing the whole vision of it. I know that was longer than 30 seconds, but that’s two and a half minutes of me complimenting all the good systems and stuff that I’ve been putting into play. That’s been really helping us out a lot, so thanks.

Stacy Risenhoover:

We are Randy and Stacy Risenhoover of Verdigris. We were looking through some companies and we came across Sierra Pools. We thought we would look into them because they were a family-owned and operated pool company. We have had a pool before and we’ve been wanting one for quite a while, so the time was right and we were able to put one in.

Randy Risenhoover:

What we liked most about the experience was the opportunity to make changes when we needed to. We had a situation where the pool, we didn’t feel like it was the situation that we wanted, so we were easily able to make changes. The owner came out the next day and made changes when we needed to.

Stacy Risenhoover:

We saw their advertisement on the internet and we gave them a call, and Cody and Rachel came out and had a couple of visits with us. We decided to go with them because they were family-operated.

Randy Risenhoover:

What we like most about our new pool is it attracts kids and a lot of our kids’ friends, so we have a good time here in the backyard. It’s also easy to maintain. Like Stacy had said before, we had a pool previously and with the new equipment that we have these days, the new cleaners and that type of thing, it’s easy to maintain. It’s been really easy since we had it installed.

Stacy Risenhoover:

Yes, I worked with Rachel on the design of the pool. We knew that we wanted a rectangle-type shape, but we knew we didn’t want the hard lines of a rectangle, so we made it a freeform around the edges and with us working together, we came up with the perfect design.

Randy Risenhoover:

The reason that we’d recommend Sierra Pools is because of the experience that we’ve had with Rachel and Cody and the owners in being able to install a pool over the time period that they recommended.
