Get ready to enter the Thrivetime Show! We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re on the top. Teaching you the systems to hear what we got. Cullen Dixon’s on the hooks, I’ve written the books. He’s bringing some wisdom and the good looks. As the father of five, that’s where I’mma dive. So if you see my wife and kids, please tell them hi. It’s C and Z up on your radio. And now, three, two, one, here we go. We started from the bottom, now we in. Started from the bottom, and that’s what we gotta do. Thrive Nation, hello. We’re back, 4.4, stage four, The Adult. I’m here with Clay Clark, of course, world’s best business coach. So good to see you. You look great. I want to say this. Oh, what? This is the stage that most entrepreneurs get stuck in. Why is that? Well, I’ll tell you this, is what happens is, is that when you start to become an adult, you start to get set in your ways. And it doesn’t mean they’re good ways, they’re just the ways that you’re set in. That’s true. So as an example, I this year, for the first time in my life, am now the proud owner of a Pike Pass. Oh yeah. And the Pike Pass is a pass that you pay for that allows you to hop on to the toll road and not have to get out and put in change. That’s great. Now previously, what I would do is I would drive up to the Pike thing, and if I didn’t have change, I would pull over to the right, and I would take my driver’s license, my license plate and I would roll it up and I would just drive through. And I would pull over and I would roll it down. How often did you do that? I’ve done it, I’m 35 and I just stopped doing it about 40 days ago. Wow. Yep, because Steve Jobs, I remember reading his book and Steve Jobs never had a current license plate. Right. So what he would do is he’d buy the car, and it would say, you know when you buy a car and it has a little paper thing on there and it would say purchased on June 5th? He had one of his Photoshop guys Photoshop it, and every week he would just print off a new one with a new purchase date, and he would just never, he’d never buy a license plate his entire life. He refused to get a license plate, and he’d always park in a handicapped parking spot because he thought it was stupid there was too many. And he was like, you know, we have very few handicapped employees, so I’ll just park where I want. Sure. And I was like, Steve Jobs. And I just thought like, I think it’s so stupid that we have to pay a toll for a road when we already pay ridiculous taxes anyway. We pay about half of what we make in taxes anyway. So I thought I’ll just, you know, pull over, roll it up, and that’ll be it. My wife is like, babe, I’ve put a pipe pass on your car so now when you drive through it just boop and it just hits the, you just get charged and now you don’t have to worry about change. And I thought, cool, I don’t like the whole toll because I didn’t have cash. And in the event I didn’t have cash, then I would pull over and roll up the thing. I was avoiding the turnpike, or the toll road at all costs. I just would never take the toll road. I would just drive through the other roads. And I realized I was extending my trip to work, I added it up by 46 minutes a day. Good grief. By just choosing to not buy a Pike Pass. Yeah. So my wife is literally giving me back 46 minutes a day, super gift, by just getting me a Pike Pass. And it decreases the amount of criminal activity that I feel, that I need, which is a good thing. Yeah. Yeah, which is good. So the whole thing is good. But what happens is, if you’re not careful, you’re going to get stuck here, because it’s your way, you’ve always done it. And what happens is, is that you have become the person who drums up all the sales. You’re huge. You’re huge. Huge. Huge. Huge. Beautiful. You generate all the sales. Boom. I got all the sales. You’re like Michael Jordan before Phil Jackson. You’re like, I scored 37 tonight. We lost, but I scored 37. Hey, Jordan. I got it all. Boom, boom. You know, you’re just, that’s what you’re doing. You’re doing in-zone dances. You’re excited. You’re showing off. I get all the sales. I do all the sales. I do all the customer service. No one can do customer service like me. No one can do sales like me. No one can optimize a website like me. Nobody can do like me. I’m the one who does all the accounting. I do all the sales. I do all the marketing. I wear all the hats, you know, and you feel like that’s somehow good. Yeah. And now you’ve done it so much that you’re at about a million dollars of revenue, maybe two million of revenue. You’re making about a hundred thousand to two hundred thousand a year and you are working all the time and you are stuck. If you leave for a moment, the whole business falls apart. And now you feel the pressure like that Atlas shrugged, you know, the book Atlas, you’re holding up the business, you’re holding up sales, you’re holding up marketing, you’re holding stuff on your back, and you’re just, the whole weight of the world is on you. And if you don’t sell well, your whole team doesn’t have a job. Everything is dependent on you. You can’t go on vacation, you can’t leave, you can’t, you work from 4am, 2am, to 7pm, and you do everything. Right. And if you’re not at your bridal store, you’re not at your bakery, you’re not at your plumbing facility, you’re not at your architectural firm, the whole thing falls apart. But you’re an adult, and no one can tell you, because you’ve always driven to work without a Pike Pass, and when you don’t have one, you just roll it up. No big deal, because that’s what you do. And then your wife points out to you, maybe you should get a Pike Pass. And you say no, but now you are the proud new owner of 46 minutes of extra free time every day because you own a Pipefest. Because you changed your ways. Because you’re learning these systems. Yeah. So we want to help you get out of this rut. So here’s what I’m going to say to you. Because if you’re stuck, we have an assessment. And Josh, they want to find this assessment. Where can we, where can they find this assessment? Well there’s an easy place to go, okay? And this is for stage four. You just go to thrive15.com slash stage four score. You can find out what your assessment is in stage four, what your score is, real simple. And I’ll tell you, once you find out where you are now versus where you wanna be, it’s very fixable. I’ll give you a very, very beautiful, exciting example that makes it very specific. I used to work with a business owner who was a doctor and He still is a doctor. I just don’t work anymore because he’s got to where he needs to go. It’s unbelievable But he would see all the patients. Yeah, he answered a lot of the phone calls he would text all the patients when after a surgery after a procedure and He was very successful a very nice house very nice car all the things But when we he called he called me and he goes I just want to get my life back Wow, and I said, what do you mean? He goes, all I do is medical work. I don’t have a wife. I never see my wife. I never see my kids. I’m just exhausted, man. And so I said, let’s go through this. We went through this assessment and we found out that we needed to build a script for someone to answer the phone. We needed to hire another doctor who could do the workload. We needed to build a system so he could know how much money he would have left at the end of the month after paying the other doctor. We had to build these systems. If we did that, he could confidently double the size of the overall business, but have two doctors that could work with him. He would make as much as he was making now, but now it wouldn’t be dependent upon him. If one of the doctors was sick, he could come in and fill in or vice versa, he could rotate. And so now the guy, true story, he has two practices. There’s a total of four doctors who work for him. He works probably three days a week. He rotates wherever they need somebody. The systems are tight. The marketing no longer involves him going to chamber events and passing out cards. Which is nice. It involves, it’s all mailers and marketing and online ads. And we talked and he said, you know, I want you to know I got my life back and I can’t thank you enough for that because I feel like I’m very different now than I was when I first talked to you. I’m enjoying my life. And really that’s what thriving is all about is learning how to build a business that allows you to achieve your financial goals in those five F’s, the faith, family, finance, fitness, friendships, boom. So the adult, this stage right here, this is you being an adult realizing that if you’re stuck in your ways, you’ve got to get out of it, you’ve got to become an adult. But then you’ve also got to train your team to become adults themselves. Exactly. Exactly. And it’s tough because sometimes the people that you hired were awesome buddies, like in high school, I don’t know if you had buddies like this, but in high school I had a buddy of mine and what we would do, we would climb on top of the local bank, like every weekend we’d climb on top of the local bank and we’d buy eggs. And this is what we would do, we’d wait for the cop would pull over and he would look. And then we’d let him drive by. And then he would stop again because he had two cars. The two cars would show up. And we would… And then we’d look. And we’d look and then we’d miss. We’d look and it was like snow covered as Minnesota, snowy. Okay. Two or three cop cars now are there. And because the whole town of Cocado only has probably, at the time I moved it was 2,038 people. Oh wow. So we’d just keep throwing. And then eventually you’d hear a poof. And then you’d be. He doesn’t even know where we are. We would do that, right? But then I got to be like my senior in high school, and I realized I got to be a senior I realized We’re gonna go to jail if we keep this up. Yeah, you know like this is not a funny, but in high school That was awesome sure you know that was the that was those were the guys yeah, and so that was my squad We would roll around we would now those guys. I’m just being real they still do the adult version of that now Yeah, and so they’ve they’ve been in and out of jail. They’ve had some issues. They’ve had some problems with the high school reunion. It was sad, but these guys were still doing stuff like this. Yeah. And it was awesome at the time, I thought, but in your business, you have some people who start with you that are kind of that teenage phase. And as you grow up and you become a mature adult, you don’t want to just be stuck as an adult just because you’re old. I’m talking about you want to become a mature adult, as you begin to move up, certain people cannot make that improvement with you. And then you start to have to bring in a different level of maturity to your organization. I’ve been building businesses for so long, and I’ll just tell you this, I embrace the fact that when I start a business, I hire a lot of young people who are a little crazy. And then over time, I try to hire people that are a little more mature. And by the end, it’s like we’ve got like Father Time and the Wise Wizard, and we’ve got these people who are very emotionally stable working, but that’s just the process. Right. So it’s an elephant in the room now. We have a lot more people we’ve hired that are north of 40 because they love the stability and the systems and they have families. When we first started, someone says, I remember the first guy, he goes, so how many sales, how many haircuts do you do a day? And we’re going like zero, two. Maybe we did two, I think we did two. Yeah, we did two yesterday. Well, what kind of benefits do I have? Well, the benefits are you get a chance to make as much as you want. How much is the least I can, it’s all commissioned. So you mean I can, in theory, not make any money all week? Absolutely. Yeah. But where else would you have this opportunity? And for a young guy, you’re like, yeah. You know, if you’re crazy. You need those teenagers. But as an adult, your wife’s like, you need a job that pays money. You know what I mean? So I’m just telling you, over time, you’ll start to have more of a mature team. Where your business is is where your people will be. Yes, exactly. All right, well make sure you get your score. Again, that’s thrive15.com slash stage four score. Be an adult like Clay. Don’t keep rolling up your license. I just I’m amazed. I’m amazed that you did that. I look, I don’t like the toll either. I just stopped doing it. I don’t know why they don’t take pennies. You have to unscrew the bottom two screws and you can roll it up and the cameras won’t see it. I still can’t believe that seems like so much more work than just like getting a pike pass. I have changed but sometimes you can’t determine if people are going to keep the change in your car. You know people might take the change out, kids might borrow it, I might give it to the kids, whatever. Well I’m glad that you’ve grown up and you’ve got a pike pass now. Yeah like a month ago. Alright guys, go ahead and get your pike pass. Thrive on. Thrivers, yes! 4.5, stage 5, the adult with gray hair, which, Clint Clark, I don’t believe you have any gray hair over there. True, and I’ll tell you this, I want to dedicate this training to George Michael. Oh, very nice. Yeah, I just feel like, George Michael, he’s recently started to get that gray hair, he’s starting to look like he could be someone’s dad. Yeah. And, uh, he still trims those eyebrows a little bit. He still waxes them. I want to dedicate this to Justin Timberlake. He now is looking more and more like a dad. He’s a dad. He’s a dad. And all the people out there who are starting to get that gray hair, you’re starting to get that nose hair. Your wife looks at you and says, is that a nose hair? And you’re like, no. And you have that Andy Rooney going on where you’re starting to get that stray eyebrow. It’s like longer than a Yeti’s hair. It’s just long hair. So George Michael, JT, people out there with nose hair, ear hair. What’s going on as you get older? You get the hair that grows and you won’t grow where you want it, but it grows where you don’t want it. Yeah. I could literally pull all my nose hair out and weave a carpet. It’s just finding new places to escape, you know? It doesn’t want to come out of the top of the head anymore. I don’t like it! I have to devote like huge amounts. I’m thinking about hiring a landscaper to deal with my nose hair. It’s probably gravity. It’s tired of, you know, working its way up. It just wants to fall now. I hate it! I’m so upset. I’m sorry. I know it’s a bad visual. Do you have gray hair? No, I don’t, but I have these eyebrows that grow in randomly gray. Awesome. Yeah. So we’re talking about stage five, the adult with gray hair. You’re becoming the Obi-Wan Kenobi of your business. That’s what we’re saying here. Yes, now as an adult, real quick, you could either become, as you want to, as you grow a bit older, you could either become like the Jabba the Hutt. Yes. Oh, it’s all, oh, it’s all so long. And you’re just trying to eat people, and you’re just kind of just, you’re just weird looking and gross and you’re a slob. Or you could kind of become Richard Gere, right ladies? Doesn’t Richard Gere look a little, you know, he looks pretty sharp? Maybe, I don’t know, yeah, sure. Didn’t he age gracefully? He did. Is Brad Pitt, in your mind, aging gracefully? Oh, very much so. George Clooney? Yes, George Clooney. You could be like a George Clooney or Jabba the Hutt. That’s good. So both are considered to be movie stars. Jabba the Hutt was still a male, very, very, you know. See a movie star? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I’m saying? Yeah, he was great at the premiere of Star Wars. He’s a male though, right? Yes. So what I’m saying is they’re both males, they’re both old, but that’s where the similarities end. So what happens is you can either get serious and you can become kind of that adult with gray hair, or you can get to a point where your business just falls apart. So what I’m asking you to do right now is get serious and get independent of, I mean you need to get to a point where you’re no longer in charge of sales. Your goal this year should be, I am no longer going to be the person that bakes every cake. I’m no longer going to be the person who installs every single sound system. I’m no longer going to be the guy who does all of the marketing, all of the sales, all of the delivery, all of the accounting, all of the PR, all of the hiring, you have to start to build systems that are independent of you. They have to work because if you want financial prosperity, right, financial freedom and time freedom, right, and you want the time, you have to be able to build systems that allow it to be possible. You’re not, in my mind, successful if you build a business where you have to do every single aspect of the business right work right so this stage right here you’re you’re delegating yep you’re training the trainers you’re the Jedi master now yeah you’re not just some Padawan learner no you’re training the Jedi’s you’re getting them to to where they need to go well you’re here’s the deal you you know how like the Millennium Falcon yeah Falcon Falcon was Was it the plane, or was it the spaceship that Chewbacca and Han Solo, they rode around the galaxy in? You know how they have little finicky things, like no one can figure out how to make the hyperdrive work? You know what I mean? So they would, you know what I’m saying? No one knew how to do it, so what happened is they were like trying to… They were trying to start it, and then it’s just like… And it’s just kind of this constant like… And he’s like, alright, let’s go to hyperdrive, Chewie, let’s go! And then they would go… And it wouldn’t work Yeah, like a but Chewie somehow knew how to take some weird space screwdriver and climb down there and fix it You know, right? That’s how a lot of people running their business right now They’re in a car, you know the car where you no one can roll down the window, but you yes You have to like someone was the bar. Yeah Yeah, someone wants to borrow your car and they’re like, you know Hey real quick though to turn on the light you have to flip the if you have to turn on your headlights to turn on your AC Yeah, it’s kind of weird, but you do that and this speedometer doesn’t work now the gas gauge isn’t working right now But if you tap it twice, it’ll show you how much it is Yeah, and because the seat belt alarm goes off even if you have your seat belt on you have to wrap it around the Transmission there you go you wrap your you know one of my friends is seriously his seatbelt won’t stop going off. So he used to wrap it. You have to wrap really hard around the back of the headrest to make it like think it was on. Yeah, just weird stuff like that. That’s how a lot of business owners are running. That’s become their normal, right? They’re so used to doing all those things. You hop into someone, you want to lend your car to somebody and they start to, they start to go. I have to wrap it around the head. Is that a healthy thing? And you’re like, oh, the brakes, by the way, they’re totally out. So when you want to brake, you’re going to hear that high squeal. You know, and you say, but so what you want to do is you don’t want to ever stop. You just want to roll to it, really roll and just tap the brake. You know, like that’s not healthy. That might be have been the way that you’ve got to profitability. It might be the way you pay your mortgage. And I applaud you for being intense enough to push through the pain there. But it’s not the way that it should be. You want to build a system where anybody with a sound mind can hop in the car and quickly figure out how to do it. And so you need to build a system for how to answer your phones, how to procure, again, specifically thinking kind of linear, how do you market to customers? These all be documented, needs to be proven systems. How do you sell something? How do you deliver the service, and how do you account for it? You’ve mastered, at this point in your business, you’ve mastered all of these things. You’ve done all these things so many times that you can go spend five, ten minutes with one of your team members, give them your wisdom, and then they’re off and running again. Exactly. I know that sometimes we skirt around the legalities of audio here, but there’s a guy named Jack Garrett, and I’m going to see if I can pull it up. One second, Thrive. You just keep talking about whatever. I’m going to be over here for a second. I’ll just be over here. You know, the thing about Obi-Wan Kenobi is that he was an adult with gray hair, and Luke found him, and he was able to train Luke in the ways that he had already learned. Of course, he failed with Anakin, and then Anakin became Darth Vader, but he wasn’t going to fail again with Luke, and that could be your second business. I want all the drivers, I appreciate you doing that. Here’s the deal, Jack Garrett is the guy, I’m going to queue this up real quick, Jack Garrett is the guy, we’ve got a Hulu commercial that’s pulling up, just give me a second. Oh, isn’t that great? No big deal. But Jack Garrett, I want everyone to look this up, Jack, it’s J-A-C-K Garrett, G-A-R-R-A-T-T. He’s on the Live Lounge show on BBC Live Lounge, and this guy literally is doing exactly the opposite thing that you should be doing if you want to become a gray-haired business owner. But it is the most amazing performance ever. And what I’m just gonna play the Thrivers a little snippet of it because this one just demonstrates what I’m talking about. This guy literally, let me get it going here. He is literally playing the guitar. He’s playing the drums right now. And he’s playing the keyboards. This is all one man. He’s doing every instrument. He’s literally singing. I’m watching him. He’s playing the guitar. He’s doing the drums. How is this possible? It’s possible because he has built a business that’s dependent upon his tremendous skill. As a musician, that’s fine. As a musician, you’re not trying to scale it out where you’re trying to teach other people to, hey, by the way, tonight I know that I’m going to be performing live at the Apollo, but if you guys can fill in for me, I’m going to be running my business from afar. No, but if you’re a business owner, the business can do that. But listen to the complication here. Right. What? It blows my mind. This guy, I almost cried watching him because he’s so good. Yeah. But I see a lot of business owners, they go, well, boss, how do I get started? Well, first what you want to do is you want to sit down. At the very beginning, I just want to show you this, this is also a place for you because it’s phenomenal. So they say, what you do to start is you first start by just playing the keyboards and now I want you to sing while playing. No big deal. Oh, I need you to grab a drumstick. Just one, though. I’m trying to teach the employee how to do my job. Right. You just hit the, boom, boom, and then you just need to sing, but you also need to keep one hand on the keyboard. That’s all you need to do, because in just a minute, it’s not gonna be too complicated. I’m just gonna add in here a little guitar to it. No big deal. While you’re singing, though, I want you to keep the hands on the keyboard and the drum, oh, and the pedal. You need, with your foot, you need to keep the pedal moving, and that’s how you do my job and the employees like And that’s how a lot of people have built their business and that’s not healthy right that’s not the way to get Garrett awesome Yeah, don’t build a Jack Garrett business. Don’t do that. You want to you want to bait you want a full band? We’re gonna put a link in this transcript as you can watch it But you need to go watch Jack Garrett worry in the live lounge on BBC. It’ll blow your mind this is how not to be this is what not to do if you’re trying to build a duplicatable business system. And you can take the assessment at thrive15.com and you can discover what your stage 5 score is. That’s thrive15.com slash stage 5 score. See how gray your hair actually is. There are, I will promise you, there will be at least five or six major discoveries you’re going to have where you go, I didn’t even know that was a thing. But now that I know that it’s a thing, I realize that’s why my business is dependent upon me. And if I can just learn these new systems, I can become financially free. And it’s going to be so exciting. And I know when you hear the word assessment, you’re like, I think I’ll just go mow my lawn with my, you know, do you have something small so it takes longer? I mean, that’s kind of what you’re thinking. I’ll just watch paint dry. I really don’t want to take an assessment. But this is, I’m going to call this a game changer. Yeah. This is a mind rocking, mind altering game changer. Is this, when you did this, when you became the adult with gray hair in your business, is this when you began to see that exponential growth for yourself? Yeah, this is where, like the elephant in the room now, the haircut business, it produces money. Yeah. But it doesn’t, I mean, so this month, it’ll produce, what I choose to take is a salary or income from it. We’ll probably bring in $6,000 this month, but I’m not going to be there in the shop at all more than like 15 minutes. So I guess if you were going to pay me per minute, it would be like $40 a minute is what I’m getting paid for this month’s activity, but I used to work all the time in it to build it, and in theory I would still be there working all the time if I hadn’t built those systems. This system is to building, these systems are as valuable to the business owner as the looping mechanism and the sampler is to Jack Garrett, who allows him to play the riff and then record it and then with his foot pedal activate it and make this unbelievable? orchestra of one man One man one man band a bandmanship. He was great. He’s great blows my mind great, but don’t run your business Listen to this on the outro One man I guarantee you he doesn’t have gray hair. No he doesn’t. No gray hair. Unbelievable. That just blows my mind. Take us out of here before we violate every copyright law in the world. Boom. Driver is here with the world’s best business coach. Also Buffalo’s best business coach because it’s in the world. Oh wow. It’s true. Unbelievable. We’re on 4.6, stage 6 of your business. This is where you become the Bruce Wayne. Well before, and you mentioned Buffalo, I also want to do a big shout out to all the Ohio business colleges out there. Okay. We, for some reason, we have a lot of thrivers who love us in Ohio. It’s probably because Marshall’s from Cleveland and it’s kind of that, if you’re in Cleveland, you basically are looking for something to cheer for. Oh, hell yeah. And you’ve got to the real bottom of the barrel when you begin cheering for me. But you know, you just don’t win a lot of games in the past. You know what I mean? The Buckeye State, sure. There we go. So yeah, we’re talking about the Bruce Wayne. Now, this is the thing about it, OK? When you are in business, once you have successfully trained your people how to train people, once you’ve successfully trained people how to train people, so the people now are able to duplicate. Yeah. Duplicate. And you’ve installed the systems needed for your business to run effectively and efficiently without you. Without who? Without you. Now it’s time to actually step out of the business and to incrementally focus on improving processes, systems, and really coaching up the members of your team. Right. And that is where, in my mind, Dr. Zellner is. Yeah. Where he spends his time. So yesterday we spent a lot of time together. I would classify as a lot. I’d say about an hour. Wow. Because he was like, hey, I have some thoughts I want to share, some things I think you need to learn, some things I think I can help you with. And they are like, they’re things that, drivers that if you don’t have four businesses, six businesses, eight, nine. You wouldn’t really ask these questions. You wouldn’t probably think about them because it doesn’t matter. But they’re very much life quality optimization discussions. It’s like Maslow’s hierarchy of needs at the very top is self-actualization. We’ll put the pyramid on the screen here. But it’s like in psychology, they teach you that first people want to worry about food and shelter. If somebody doesn’t have food, it’s hard to be motivated to be like, what are your seven tips to trimming your waistline? I mean people are like, just give me something to eat. Then once you move up, then it’s shelter, then it’s relationships, but once you kind of move up a little bit on some things, you have a little success, you need to learn to optimize your life so you can optimize your mental freedom so that you can enjoy the moments you have with family and friends and these kind of things. And he was just talking about some of these kinds of things. And all I’m getting at is that he’s able to step out because he’s taught me how to teach people who can now teach people. So he doesn’t need to be here to do that. What he does need to do is take a look out from the outside and go, hey man, I know you guys spend all your time in the website, but I’m out on the outside looking at it and here’s one tip. Boom. And it’s like, seems almost Captain Obvious, but he’s looking at it from a big distance. The best way I could look at it is if you, I don’t know, did you play football at any point? I did, yeah, high school, yeah. Okay, and I was awful at football. I was awful. My senior year, the coach had asked me if I would be willing to try out because I was really big in terms of, I was really physically strong and in great shape, and I worked out all the time. He’s like, we could use a guy like you to play tight end or something. I don’t think he realized how little skill I have. And so I went in there and I was fast and I’m physically strong, but was terrible, awful. But if you’re that bad, you can just see, and the guy next to you is like, buddy, you totally screwed up that route, you’re bad. But once you get to this level, you’re not playing anymore, okay? You’re a coach. But once you get to that NFL level, the National Football League, and you’re a coach, and they got the guys up in the skyboxes with the binoculars who are looking down, they’re watching the film, and they can see from above, hey, look at that formation. They will tell the quarterback in his headphones, they’ll tell the head coach in his head, that’s where the coaches wear the headsets, and they’ll tell them, if you’re the Patriots, this is what they say. We’re videoing them right now, and we know exactly the words they’re saying. And so they’re saying right now, because we’ve tapped into their headphones, we’re saying they are now running a, they’re going to the right, so just go tackle them there. That’s kind of like the, I love the Patriots, but that’s kind of allegedly what they’re telling them. Now, if you are other teams, they say, here coach, we got a, it looks like they’re doing a such and such formation. We need to make sure the linebackers rush, linebackers rush. And then the coaches are like okay cool but the coach can’t see it because he’s down in the field and his perspective is different. T.D. Jakes talks about the giraffe versus the turtle. The turtle sees the earth, it sees the poop of animals, it sees the dirt, it sees the insects. That’s what it sees, that’s its perspective. But as you grow and you grow up, obviously turtles don’t become giraffes, but in the world of business, you can become one. Once you’re at that giraffe level, you’re out of the minutia, you’re out of the gossip, you’re out of the rumors, you’re out of the clawing and scratching for every dollar, and you’re able to look at it and go, hey, guys, we should go that way because you can see above the trees. That’s what this stage, that Bruce Wayne, Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne obviously being the other half of of batman you know that man was this this superhero bruce wayne was the alter ego the successful businessman that ran wayne enterprises yeah but i don’t know if you’ve seen the episodes where he was actually in the uh… manufacturing line working no but somebody else was making his suits in his equipment in his businesses we never see it bruce wayne episodes where he’s actually in the factory making stuff right at one point every top entrepreneur had to start making a widget or doing a thing or something in the very basic tasks and they move up over time. Yeah, and that’s the whole thing is that you’re growing, you’re getting better obviously, but when you get this Bruce Wayne level, you’re actually able to look at your company from a different perspective and you’re able to help it quicker than you would if you were still down on the bottom level. And I will just say that is a fun level to be at. Yeah. But it psychologically, on an emotional level, it creates jealousy amongst people that are not in that spot, because nobody who was with you when you started is usually with you when you get to the end. So that’s what Dr. Z and I have been talking a lot about recently, is that there’s just a big gap and people are like, who does he think he is coming in telling me how to do my job better? He doesn’t even know how to cut hair. You’re right. Right. But I used to work right at that small level doing DJing, doing photography, doing video. Now I pride myself on not knowing each skill because I want to help make sure the end product is where it needs to go. Right. Makes sense. Yeah. Yeah. So it’s just it’s a little bit different. People start to people get jealous and greedy over time. You have to just learn how to process that and emotionally deal with that. Right. And you have plenty of time to do that in your bat cave. Yeah. By yourself. Well, watching all the monitors. And we’re going to be doing some podcasts here soon from the man cave. Yes. Which is so. And I’m telling you, the man cave when you when you folks see the man cave. Let’s just say this one is every woman needs a woman cave, which I call the entirety of your house. And every man, we just need a small closet, you know, like this. If we let us decorate this, I’m not kidding. I know a friend of mine. He says, baby, if you let me decorate my bathroom, I saw. She’s like, no, in the garage. So his Joe Montana poster, Joe Montana quarterback, his Bo Jackson poster, it goes to the garage pretty soon. It’s like, can you take that out of the garage? We got to put the little babe, the girls, they have a bike. You know the little princess bikes with the little streamers that come out of the ends of the handlebars? Yeah. Can you move your Joe Montana posters because we have the little baby bikes? I finally now at the age of 35 have arrived and I have built the ultimate man cave. And it is a sanctuary and it’s hard for me to leave the house. You were able to build your bat cave because you’re at that Bruce Wayne level. True. That’s your, it’s right there. There’s the example. And you know what we said, we don’t have to add it, we don’t have to fit it into our house, we’re just going to add on to the house. Yeah. Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne. Boom. Boom. Now, guys, you can take the assessment at thrive15.com and discover what your Stage 6 score is. It’s thrive15.com slash stage6score. Find out where you’re at. Find out what your score is find it out find out if you’re Bruce Wayne Or if you’ve got a ways to go true that true that you feel pretty good Bruce I feel I feel good. Here’s the thing about it Bruce Wayne was always handsome. Yeah, he always was talented. He was always smart I Think if we just take it as assessment right now if you look at your screen drivers. I am NOT handsome I am NOT super smart. I am NOT. I don’t know doctor. I’m not a lawyer. I don’t have a PhD. But what I do, that’s a player-hating degree. I don’t have a PhD. I don’t have that stuff. The PhD that I have, what I always tell people at speaking events, but it’s the pig-headed discipline. And that’s all you need. If you’ve got that pig-headed discipline, then you’re going to be just fine. As long as you have that pig-headed discipline, just focus, learn these, watch these trainings. We’re gonna teach you specifically how to do it, and when you get stuck, because you will get stuck, when you get stuck, just email us info at thrive15.com, schedule a coaching call. Love the workshops, in-person workshops. They rock. It’s beautiful. There’s awesome things to do here in Tulsa while you’re here. Yeah, well actually, there’s a big, there’s a new golf facility next to us where it’s like a three-level, it’s three stories. You can whack a golf ball and it puts an electronic chip in it so you can see how far you hit the ball. We’re right here on the Riverwalk. There’s the biggest casino in Oklahoma right across the river. There’s water in the river from time to time. It’s beautiful. Got to get that river fixed. Other than that, it’s beautiful. You got to get that river fixed. Yeah, we got to take that river to the Bruce Wayne level. Last week I got so mad I just walked down the river all the way home. Really? No, I’m just kidding, but you could. You could. You could just get on it. It’s like the whole river is kind of like a beach at times Yeah It’s really more like a sand dunes like the scene from the the story or the DD habitat that Luke lived on in the first star Wars that’s a weaned sure to wean it is our river is tattooing. It’s tattooing which is great if you’re filming Star Wars Yeah, all right. Well all you Bruce Wayne’s out there. This has been another great stage stage six the Bruce Wayne stage 4.6. I feel good about it. I feel better than you feel about it, and that’s why he’s Bruce Wayne guys Which must make me Robin Dick Grayson see you guys boom JT. Nope, did not get any loans, nothing like that, did not get an inheritance from parents or anything like that. I had to work for it and I’m super grateful I came to a business conference. Clay Clark has put together an exceptional presentation, really life-changing and I’m looking forward to seeing you then. I’m Michael Levine, I’ll see you in Tulsa. You can learn the proven 13 point business system that Dr. Zellner and I have used over and over to start and grow successful companies. We get into the specifics, the specific steps on what you need to do to optimize your website. We’re going to teach you how to fix your conversion rate. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You work every day in your business, but for two days you can escape and work on your business and build these proven systems. So now you can have a successful company that will produce both the time freedom and the financial freedom that you deserve. You’re gonna leave energized, motivated, but you’re also gonna leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur I always wish that I had this and because there wasn’t anything like this I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the Edith Bick chocolate Easter Bunny but inside of it it was a hollow nothingness and I wanted the knowledge and they’re like oh but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. And the great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop, we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get-rich-quick, walk-on-hot-coals product. It’s literally, we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying. I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert, Zellner and Associates. Look them up and say, are they successful because they’re geniuses? Or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same systems that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. We’ve built this facility for you and we’re excited to see it. And now you may be thinking, what does it actually cost to attend an in-person, two-day, interactive, Thrive Time Show business workshop? Well, good news, the tickets are $250 or whatever price that you can afford. What? Yes, they’re $250 or whatever price you can afford. I grew up without money and I know what it’s like to live without money. So if you’re out there today and you want to attend our in-person, two-day interactive business workshop, all you’ve got to do is go to Thrivetimeshow.com to request those tickets. And if you can’t afford $250, we have scholarship pricing available to make it affordable for you. I learned at the Academy in Kings Point, New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Harvard Kiyosaki, The Rich Dad Radio Show. Today I’m broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona, not Scottsdale, Arizona. They’re close, but they’re completely different worlds. And I have a special guest today. Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me, you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent. I’ve done his show before also, but very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts. And so Mr. Clay Clark is a friend of a good friend, Eric Trump. But we’re also talking about money, bricks, and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hour. So Clay Clark is a very intelligent man and there’s so many ways we could take this thing. But I thought, since you and Eric are close, Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t, what Donald, who is my age, and I can say or cannot say. First of all, I have to honor you, sir. I want to show you what I did to one of your books here. There’s a guy named Jeremy Thorn, who was my boss at the time. I was 19 years old, working at Faith Highway. I had a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV. He said, have you read this book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad? I said no. My father, may he rest in peace, he didn’t know these financial principles. I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books. I went from being an employee to self-employed to the business owner to the investor. I owe a lot of that to you, and I just wanted to take a moment to tell you thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success, and I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump, but I just want to tell you, thank you, sir, for changing my life. Well, not only that, Clay, thank you, but you’ve become an influencer. More than anything else, you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power, so that’s why I congratulate you on becoming. Because as you know, there’s a lot of fake influencers out there, or bad influencers. Yeah. Anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much, and thanks for reading my books. Yeah. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say, I read your book, changed my life, I’m doing this, I’m doing this, I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy at Kings Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Whoa! Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business, and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school. And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us and getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place. So having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super, it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Once I saw what they were doing, I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30 years of business. You’re not bored, you’re waiting live the whole time. It’s not pushy. They don’t try to sell you a bunch of things. I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of the business. Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program. It’s really lively, they’re pretty friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I attended a conference a couple months back, and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. At the workshop, I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the most important. Biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business, whether it’s marketing, one of those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources. Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay and I found that to be kind of fascinating. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort and you’ve got to go through the ups and downs of getting it to where you want to go. He actually gives you the road map out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do and he gave me the roadmap out step by step. We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it will be answered. This conference motivates me and also gives me a lot of knowledge and tools. Everybody can do these things. There’s stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else is going to do it for you. I can see the marketing working. It’s just an approach that makes sense. Probably the most notable thing is just the income increase that we’ve had. Everyone’s super fun and super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me. Your competition’s going to come eventually or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9, and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey, guys. I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys. We appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. Right. This is where we used to live two years ago. This is our old neighborhood. See? Nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team, I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing and this is our new team. We went from four to fourteen and I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, tens of thousands. So we really just want to thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. If you decide to not attend the drive time workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity. The atmosphere of Clay’s office is very lively. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk through the door, and it really got me and my team very excited. If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business, bottom line. Love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing, I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key. Marketing is everything. Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly. How to grow a business using Google reviews. And then just how to optimize our name through our website also. Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google. The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. new ways of advertising my business as well as recruiting new employees. Group interviews, number one. Before we felt like we were held hostage by our employees. Group interviews has completely eliminated that because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit. Hands-on how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing, and overall just how to structure the business, how it works for me, and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients. The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management. I like the one hour of doing your business is real critical if I’m going to grow and change. Play really teaches you how to navigate through those things and not only find freedom, but find your purpose in your business and find the purposes for all those other people that directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real.
