Hey Nathan, my name is D.L. O’Dell, I’m here with Vat15.com And we just wanted to welcome you to Vat Nation We took the very best books and the very best minds and then we condensed them to 15 minute episodes. Nathan, if you got any questions, I’m talking 24-7, all you do is call. Nathan. We did over two times as much business as we did last year. We had 208% of our last year’s numbers in this month. My name is Tony Serenas, and I’m owner of Complete Carpet. I’m Nathan Serenas. I’m owner. Just gathered with her. She does a lot of our management and call leads and connecting with the customers, all her back-end advertising. And I do pretty much all the service, connecting directly with the customer. We started working with Thrive in, I think our first meeting was the end of October, so really November was our first full month of working with Thrive team here. Just increased in customers, we’ve just been really busy, we’re definitely learning how to manage this growth and to continue to move forward to expand our business. One of the big things I’ve seen personally is that I’ve been doing this for 20 years and I thought I knew how to do things and I thought that I was just like this is the best that I could do. And Thrive has shown that there are some best practice ways and other avenues that you can get things accomplished without having, without running into the same brick wall over and over. They say, well look, here’s this door, here’s this other opportunity, here’s another way to accomplish the same thing. And those tools have helped free up one, tremendous amount of time to where I’m now focusing on the business and not just always working in the business, but also to be able to stay connected with our customers, to be able to give them a little bit better experience, to bring in Google leads, to bring in connections to where all of our regular advertising we already had. We haven’t changed some of the main basis of our advertising. It’s just now become effective and it’s working, where before it was just kind of hit and miss of what we could accomplish and now we’ve doubled this month’s revenue compared to last February and we really haven’t changed a lot except we made everything effective, we made everything work, we stayed on top of our customers and really without the Thrive system we hadn’t figured it out on our own yet. We needed somebody to guide us, show us what it was that we didn’t know we didn’t know yet and that way we were able to start connecting the dots for things that we thought just didn’t work. And we said, no, it actually will work. Here’s the process to do it. And I said, I don’t know. I don’t know if it would work. And every week I’d come back and say, look, see, it’s working. And then that snowballs into motivation of saying, I can do this. I can accomplish things. And having that person there each week, having that meeting, that accountability, the ability to track what it is that you’re doing, somebody else who cares at all about what’s going to happen in your business. 3, 2, 1, boom! It’s the Thrive Time Show, and now you know what time it is. I wish that I could be what I want to, I wish that I would do what I don’t do, I need a miracle, I hope it come through, I’m trying to work it out, I need a jump suit, because I don’t about having enough and not having enough, slacking and stuff. I wish that I could be what I want to, I wish that I would do what I don’t do, I need a miracle, I hope it come through, I’m trying to work it out, I need a jump suit, because I don’t about having enough and not having enough, slacking and stuff. I wish that I could be what I want to, I wish that I would do what I don’t do, I need a miracle, I hope it come through, I’m trying to work it out, I need a jump suit, because I don’t about having enough and not having enough, lacking the stuff. Alright Thrive Nation, on today’s show we’re going to have a blasty blast talking about this idea of how to go from stuck to unstuck. We’re going to have a blasty blast talking about how to go from stuck to unstuck and I’m going to focus in on a client by the name of Nathan. He’s an active client, long time client, and I’m going to walk you through the conversation and how the whole relationship happened. But I want everybody out there to get this idea. If there’s any area in your life at all where you feel stuck and you happen to live in a capitalistic society that gives you the freedom of movement, then what you can do is you can take action. And so I want to really get into this idea. If you feel stuck, I want to walk you through the action steps that you need to take. So what happened was Nathan reached out to me. He had listened to our radio show for a long time and he said, you know what? I hear you’re having a business workshop in Tulsa. I’m going to come to it. So he went to Thrivetimeshow.com, Thrivetimeshow.com. He filled out the form at Thrivetimeshow.com. He and his wife, they scheduled a call. They booked a ticket. They came to the conference. And the way it worked back in the day, and I’m going to show the video in just a moment, but when you filled out the form, when you, back in the day, when you filled out the form to request a ticket to a conference, we would record a video for you that I thought was hilarious. Do you know about this, Devon? I do not. Do you know about this, James? I do not. So imagine that you filled out the form, and this is what you were confronted with. were confronted with. Okay, this is what we would do. Now that’s what we would do, and why did that work? I want to ask you again, why did that… So first off, I was doing shows every single day like I do shows now. I don’t know who’s going to listen to the show, and I don’t know who’s going to fill out the form. But I just want to ask you, Devin, why did that work? Why did people respond well when we had a song recorded just for them and sent to them within minutes of filling out the form. It’s very unique and it’s personalized so that’s like it’s kind of flattering. Where do you think I found this this this singer guy? Group interview. We found this guy at Whole Foods and again that’s not recommending as a pro tip that that’s where you go to find your next success story. But what I’m saying is you have to take action. And I had this idea, it would be really nice if we had a way to wow the customers that filled out the form. So I have an idea, I want to hire a musician. So I wrote that idea down on a sheet of paper and I began interviewing musicians, talking to musicians, and I ran into this guy at Whole Foods and I hired him. He then, again, T.L. O’Dell was his name, but every time you filled out the form, for a couple of years, he would send you a song if you filled out the form. James, why did that work? It makes you feel important. Right, and it’s a system, it’s a plan, it’s a process. Somebody took the time to think through it, to think about how are we going to record it, how are we going to do it, how do we mic the guy, what instruments do we use, where does he play, and his entire full-time job. Could you imagine telling your wife, they say, what do you do for a living, telling your friends, what do you do for a living? I hang out in an office, and when anyone fills out the form, I sing them a customized song and whenever I’m not doing that, my boss wants me to just practice all day. And that happened because he had told me he had aspirations to become a professional musician, whatever that was, and I was like, well, the only way to do it is to take eight hours a day to practice. So you just practice all day. When I don’t have people filling out the form, you can just practice. And he’s like, you want to pay me all day? And I said, yeah, to practice. And he goes, really? So all day, this is what he would do all day. Hey Coach JC, I’m here with friends, T. Hill or Death, I’m here with friends. And the reason why I was off is because I was refining the craft. I didn’t know exactly how to do it, but I didn’t sit around and wait for it to be perfect. I took action. So this was more refined. Now this is a little better. Hey Dr. Zellner, my name is Tia the Pill. I’m here with 515.com. Oh yeah. You’re America’s number one recovering optometrist. Oh yeah. This is what I would do all day as work. This is what we would do is we would, if you fill out the form, we would send a song to you, boom, okay? But the point I’m trying to get at is you have to take action. Nobody was begging for me to record a radio show. I had the idea, you know what? I should record a radio show. But you weren’t begging me to make a radio show. So I had to contact the radio stations over and over and over and over and over until I finally got an opportunity to do it. Then I had to say, hey, I will give you the show for free. You never have to pay me at all. And I’m thinking that I’ll make my revenue from people that listen to the show, but you don’t have to pay me. So I’ll be like your cheapest show ever. The low, you’ll never pay less for on air, quote unquote talent than me, because I’m gonna do it for free. James, why would I do that? Because you know you’re gonna make it back when you get clients. Why won’t other people do that then? Because they’re not confident in their ability the way that you are. There it is. So again, we’re talking about success habits. So again, on today’s show, the theme is develop success habits and stop chasing rabbits. Again, develop success habits and stop chasing rabbits. Now, this is for a book I’m working on right now. I’m almost done with it. So, Devin, I’m gonna have you read this first paragraph. And I have not edited the book yet, so it could be psychobabble that at a certain point has massive errors, but this is like version one of this new book. The working title for the new book is A Millionaire’s Guide to Creating Habitual Wealth. That’s the working title. But go ahead and read, please, the introduction. Okay, I am writing this book with great enthusiasm for you so that you can have access to a proven proactive plan for achieving financial success. Throughout this book I’m gonna provide you with proven financial success strategies that you can use to achieve massive success and I will also share with you my story of going from the bottom literally starting my first business in my parents basement to the top so that you can know that we all have to start somewhere. My get-rich-quick plan involved me being employed at Target, Applebee’s, and DirecTV simultaneously so that I could save up approximately $30,000 I needed to start DJConnection.com, a company that would grow into one of the largest wedding entertainment companies, which I sold well over 10 years ago. Keep reading here. I’m seeing an error right here. Keep reading. Keep reading. Keep reading. You’re doing great. Success is not normal, and achieving success will require you to change your habits. Okay, stop right there. What does that mean, James? It means that the average person is not going to be successful. Right. This is why I have a very hard time listening to mediocre minds. Now, if you look it up, there’s a notable quotable that you can read here, folks, about mediocre minds, mediocre minds, and violent opposition. So the idea, just to be super clear, says Albert Einstein was the first guy, if we believe history, he’s the first one who said to FDR, hey, the Germans are trying to blow up America, perhaps we should make a bomb before they do. Hey, by the way, this just in, leading German scientist, Albert Einstein says, hey, Hitler’s developing a nuclear weapon, we should probably try to stop him. And so that is the story of Albert Einstein, obviously a famous scientist. But he said, great minds have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly. That’s the crap that I was dealing with today for three meetings in a row is people that are distracted and wrong and passionate. It’s like a unique combination of people that were passionate and distracted. There’s wonderful clients who I work with, they brought their lackeys with them. And if you’re listening right now to this show and you are a client of mine, stop bringing your lackeys to the meeting. We’ve had this conversation, we have it directly, now we’re having it indirectly. Stop bringing your version of, I don’t know, it’s like Gilligan. Stop bringing Gilligan to my island. Stop it. Because what happens, James, is when I’m trying to help my client develop success habits and they bring Gilligan to the meeting, what happens? It drifts and you get off target. Yeah, my job is to help the business owner grow. My job is not to coach Gilligan. Right. So, you know, today, true story, I’m talking to one of my clients this morning. I was so pissed, so irritated. I hate poverty. I grew up poor. I hated it. Hated it. So this client, he tells me, and Deb, you tell me what you would do. Here’s the big question, okay? You’re a business consultant. The client says, we have about 18 people this week that filled out the form. And I said, how many of those did you sign up for your business? I won’t mention the industry or the guy’s name. And he says, zero. I mean, I think, I go, how do you not know? But he says, well, I just, I don’t know. I mean, it could be more. I said, well, Three, two, one, boom. It’s the Thrive Time Show. And now you know what time it is. I wish that I could be what I want to. I wish that I would do what I don’t do. I need a miracle, I hope it comes through. I’m trying to work it out, I need a jump suit. Cause I don’t about having enough and not having enough, slackin’ and stuff. It’s like a unique combination of people that were passionate and distracted. There’s wonderful clients who I work with, they brought their lackeys with them. And if you’re listening right now to this show, and you are a client of mine, stop bringing your lackeys to the meeting. We’ve had this conversation, we have it directly, now we’re having it indirectly. Stop bringing your version of, I don’t know, like a, it’s like Gilligan. Stop bringing Gilligan to my island. And he says, zero. I mean, I think. I go, how do you not know? But he says, well, I just, I don’t know. I mean, it could be more. I said, well, why don’t you know the number? He said, well, my guy here, he handles that. So I go, okay. So I’m looking right at the guy. How many of the 18 leads did you book for deals? He says, I don’t really know. I have that information back at the office. And I’m going every week for years, this is all I care about is how many leads came in, how many did you close, can we listen to your recorded calls so I can hear what you said this week? He says, I don’t have the passwords here, they’re back at the office. And then it becomes this ethical debate, he begins the debate of, you know, I don’t know that I like the script, maybe we need to change the script. I don’t like the no-brainer. I don’t like the offer.” And before this Gilligan began working for my client, his predecessor would always go like 18 for 18 or 16 for 18 or 17 for 18. What changed? The person. And if somebody’s not willing to change, my, as a consultant, I would advocate they would fire the person. But now I’ve got the business owner going, well, I think we should change the script. My lackey here wants to change the script, and then it’s that jackassery zone. And so I’m just telling you, if you’re out there today and you have a business and you’re trying to build a successful one, it is statistically very improbable that you will do so by default because according to usdebtclock.org, which I mention all the time on this show, there’s other resources, but usdebtclock is one of the most accurate up to date. There’s only 9,049,260 self-employed people in America. That means there’s only one, there’s 336 million Americans right now. So you only have a 3% of the American population that’s even self-employed and 96% of those will fail by default. So you have like a one in 1,000 chance that you’re gonna be successful by default. So James, if you have a one in 1,000 chance of being successful by default, what are the chances that you’re lackey, who you just hired yesterday, who won’t call us freaking leads, that he’ll be successful? There are 999 out of a thousand chance that he won’t be So, Devin, we have to keep reading here. Right here, if you can start right here with Stop the Jackassery. Yes, here we go. Stop the Jackassery. Face the fact we all only have 24 hours per day we can never get back. It’s so important that everybody gets this idea. You’ve got to grace, you’ve got to face the fact you only got 24 hours a day. So, you guys are going to a trade show tonight, you’ll be doing great at the trade show. You’re at the trade show. The purpose of the trade show is to demo our product and to gather objective reviews from actual clients. Is it possible, Devin, have you seen people that can go to a trade show and get no reviews and no demos? Yeah. Is it possible to get like, what, four an hour? Yeah. Is it possible to get zero? Yes. Right. And so it’s, by default, nothing will happen. James, on this part two of today’s show, we’re going to share the Nathan story. By default, if he didn’t fill out the form, he would not be a successful client today. Right. And if I wasn’t doing a radio show, he would not have heard me. Right. So, you have to take action. I think what people do is they think that an action, a viable action is to, action step, is just to acquire more knowledge, endlessly. I see people all the time, they’re like, we need to research this. I need to investigate that. That’s not an action step, just to endlessly research and investigate things. Just in a business perspective, why, Devin, is it not an action item? Why is that not a viable action item to just infinitely research? So today, another client… I was so pissed today. And again, I’m pissed. I’m more pissed about poverty than my clients are. I got a client today who came up with a formula. I’m going to show you this formula. I’m not going to mention the client’s name. Devyn, why do I hate formulas on client tracking sheets? Because they’re wrong. Right! Because it’s automatic and that’s wrong. They’re going to make it, they’re going to program it in, they’re going to have it wrong. So this client’s telling me, he’s like, hey, I have a system I’ve created and it’s incredible. I’ve automated my tracking sheet so it takes a lot less time and it pulls the data from here to there and from there to here and it does all this and I’m looking and I’m going. So your tracking sheet is stating that. You can see this piece is it says your tracking sheet is saying that your total increase and the number of objective reviews you’ve gathered is negative 702. Did you lose 702 reviews this week? These are the questions I have. To which I’m told, oh, I’ve got to fix that. Okay. What else is wrong? If that’s wrong, are there any other fields that are wrong? So we start looking at other fields and we start to discover all of it’s wrong, which is why they’re having a cash flow problem. Jackassery of the highest order. So what are the action steps we need to take here? You’ve got to develop success habits. If you’re going to become successful, you’ve got to develop success habits. Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers, the third president of these United States, says, if you want something you’ve never had, you must do something that you’ve never done. All right? So let’s go through the success habits, James. S, you know, we’ll have a, for the letter S, there’s an action step. For the letter, again, these are success habits, okay? So for the letter U, there’ll be another one. And then for the letter C, there’ll be another one. So it’s success habits, right? But they’re each, like the S stands for something. Does that make sense? Am I communicating succinctly? Yes. So the S stands for something, the U stands for something. So let’s go ahead, read off S of success habits. There’s S, U, C, C. So what’s S stand for? Set goals that exhilarate you, goals that keep you up late at night and wake you up early in the morning thinking about them. Right. So I don’t like write a book that I’m not excited about when I sit down to write it. Because the time it takes to write a book, you’ll eventually have like a decreasing amount of excitement about the book the 15th time you’ve edited the book. So you’ve got to at least be excited about it. I don’t expect you or me to be excited to go to the trade show to demo products. I don’t think that task itself is exciting. Maybe it is. But what’s exciting is you get paid every time that you gather an objective review from a customer. And, Devin, you’ve got a wedding coming up. And it turns out weddings cost money. Right? And I’m not going to ask you on the show, but have you ever thought about how much money it costs per person? Have you done that math yet? Yeah. I remember this. I know I’m 20 years older than you, but when I was 20 years old, I remember thinking, I don’t know that I like the people enough to pay that much per head for the food. I mean, these are just thoughts I have. But theoretically, hopefully you’re excited about getting married. I’m sure there are things you’re buying, so you could use the money you make here to pay for those things. That’s the idea. Right. You know, James, you and I, I mean, you know, I don’t know that anyone’s excited about calling people who filled out a form and inviting them to a conference, but we are excited to help people, to educate people, to wake people up to the possibilities. I mean, that’s exciting. Right. You know, so then you, James, what’s the you? Unload negative influences, people, places, and things which is why people can need to stop bringing the Gilligan into my office So I got a Gilligan who showed on if you saw this guy won’t mention his name or you know But he shows up today with one of my clients, and he is just sitting there Arguing with me about facts He says Brother do you actually think that and then he inserts an opinion that’s wrong and opinion that’s wrong. And I’m like, why is my client bringing a slacker, a lackey in with me to meet? I just had a wonderful and a positive meeting with one of my clients. He’s a cosmetic surgeon. I was explaining to him how Google works. And I said, hey, if you want to be top in Google, you have to have a website that is canonically or what’s called Google compliant, canonically compliant. Two has to be mobile compliant. It has to comply with Google’s mobile standards. Three, it has to have the most objective reviews for the most original content. And my client, who you know, the cosmetic surgeon, he comes in, and we’ve worked with multiple cosmetic surgeons. He goes, all right, I know what I need to do. And I don’t sit there and have to debate with him. I don’t have to debate with his slacker, his lackey, his Gilligan. I just talk to him. But the moment he brings a Gilligan in, which has happened, once they bring Gilligan in to the meeting, why is it weird now, Devon? Because they haven’t been, you know, he’s been a client for years and they haven’t been to those meetings and they don’t understand, this is literally all you need to do. And then they just have ideas. Right, just ideas, an idea festival. Okay, so C, S-U-C. C, what’s the next one there, Devon? C, what does that stand for? It is choose to block out time only for what matters. So I have no time for things that don’t matter. You know, so tonight I have to come back here to record a show tonight. I’m not complaining. It’s just a fact. I have to record a show at 9 p.m. I want to hang out with my kids from 6 until 9 today. I’m going to do that. I don’t have time for jackassery. And I don’t know. I would like to get your thoughts on this, Devin. Why do people not block out time? Do they not know to do it or do they just choose it? What do you think the average person, you know, I mean, I don’t know what happens on Saturdays and Sundays in most people’s lives. I don’t know what happens at night, but do most people have a plan or what do they do? I really don’t. I don’t know. I mean, they’re, they’re probably like, oh, well, I feel like I’m getting boxed in and I, I don’t boxed in. I don’t really know what I’ll be doing at five o’clock because when I get off of work I might go here and I might…they just want the freedom. James, what do you think? What are people doing? They’re doing whatever the lazy mind does. I don’t even know. I don’t understand how people end up watching Netflix all night. I don’t get it. Okay, so then the next C. You’ve got to convert your drive time and your idle time into success study time. This is so big. Greg, if you listen to the lyrics to an average song, let me just, we’ll just give you an example, okay? So we’re gonna pull it up real quick here, and I’m just gonna pull it up, and then we’re just gonna, we’ll do it, we’re gonna do it right now, we’re gonna pull up two examples, and so let’s do, okay, so this is Bieber, okay? This will be on the radio, if you’re driving in your car, you’re gonna hear this song, and you’re gonna hear this song because you have FM radio, and the way FM radio works, or mainstream media, is certain people decide, wow, this song is popular. And so now you must say, I also agree this is popular. You know why? Because it comes on every time I turn on my car radio. And now everybody has to listen to this. I don’t know if anybody has any hard passes just that far into it. But this is what he does. If anybody met somebody like this, like if you met this guy in real life, if this was a guy in my office, okay, let’s just say this guy was in my office. If this guy showed up at my office, or he showed up in your office, or in your automotive repair shop. Or he was in your living room. Or he was dating your daughter. Or he was your son. I would hope that you would be disappointed to have met him. I would be disappointed. Look at him. What’s going on here? And this is what people are listening to. Yeah, it’s weak. But I mean, this is what people are doing, and they listen to it while they drive. And they say, I’m trying to kill time. If every day is a gift from God, then what you do with your day is a gift to God. And if you’re trying to kill time, you’re literally saying, I’m trying to kill myself right it’s crazy I’m just trying to kill time you know just listen to some what and then your kids are in the car listening to it with you I don’t know what team that guy’s on this guy is his nickname the predator look at this guy this is the kind of guy I expect to meet in the porta potty at 2 in the morning. Writing his name on the porta potty saying for a good time call me. That’s the kind of guy. What is going on? What is happening? This is what people, this is by default, this is what people are listening to. But you can turn your drive type. People say, Clay, how do you know all this stuff about the world? How do you know these things about the dollar? How do you know these things about the Federal Reserve? How do you know about how to build a business? Because I listen to this stuff while I drive. I mean, I have the same amount of time I’m driving. I just forgot to listen to this. We continue. E. E, Devin, E. Enhance and intentionally design your home and work environment. It’s so important. Dev, we just added a what above your desk? Right above the desk when you’re selling tickets? A beam. A beam. And what is hanging from that beam? Beautiful Edison bulb lights. What are your thoughts about the beam? I love it. It’s magical. James, what do you think about the beam? I love the beam. I helped even put the beam up there. I think about the beam. I’m like, we need a beam. Because I want my work environment to be something that I actually am excited to come to. I don’t want to hate my work environment. I see so many business owners that have a completely morose, negative, low energy, bureaucratic, DMV looking prison themed office. And they’re like, I don’t understand why I’m depressed. Because your office looks like it was designed by the person who made a quarantine camp for the CCP. Okay, we continue. So S, you got a S, Devin? Sell something in a sustainable win-win shalom manner. Oh my gosh. The guy I’m talking about, I hope he hears this show, I hope it touches his soul. He showed up in our office, he’s in my office, James, about six months ago. You probably met him and he’s like, man, I want to make this app, bro. I’m this app, bro. It’s gonna be an app. It’s gonna be, it’s gonna be like revolutionary, man. It’s gonna change the way people consume media. I’m going, okay, how much money have you spent on it? All my life savings, okay. So how are you gonna monetize it? Oh, it’s gonna be like, like advertisers. I look at the man, I said, great. So I wasn’t asked for my, he didn’t ask me for my feedback. Right, then he says, I’d like to get on your feedback. And I said, do you want to know? Cause I don’t want to, I’m not trying to tell you right now. He said, no, I want to know you’ve been successful. I said, first off I’m successful because of what I don’t do but your product, you’re competing for people’s time with what? TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Truth Social, Truth Social, but I mean you’re competing with all these apps, right? YouTube, Rumble, I mean it’s a lot. And I see statistically no probability that it could ever possibly work. But if you can make it work, it’s great. I just, I can’t see that happening. So then he calls me about four weeks ago and he’s in like free fall mode. Dude, I’ve spent all my money, spent all my time, all my energy and now I’m not making any money at all. I’m going, yep. And I’m not being negative. You just have to sell something. client who just left today, that homeboy makes $4,000-ish every time that he does a procedure. Amen! Great! Amen! People are willing to pay for it. He racks up about five of those a week. Boom! Making good money. It’s great. No problem with that. That’s a good idea. But James, it’s not mean, but eventually you have to sell something right if you’re not gonna sell anything you’re never gonna make any money So s number two and again this should spell out to success habits next s Set it and forget it with your savings. Why do you have to save a set amount of money a set percentage Devin if you said I’m gonna save 20% of my check forever. What’s gonna happen if you did you if you set it and forget it well, I’ll… it’ll grow. If you just set it and forget it. But if you don’t, it’s not going to happen. James, every day you go out there and you gather eggs from said chickens? I do. And you set it and forget it. It’s like something you do. Right. It’s part of my life. I think we were talking about success habits. I think that’s where we’re going with this. It’s like a habitual thing, right? Now, H, Devon. Hold your focus on core tasks until success. Don’t deviate. So right now, just to be very clear, I don’t know when people are going to hear this show, whatever, but we do conferences and there’s some days where the phone blows up with leads. People are like, man, I want to attend your conference. I’m so excited. I want to attend your conference. Your conference. I want to go to your conference. I’ve been doing business conferences since 2005. There are other times where people, the news cycle is a busy news cycle. And when it’s a busy news cycle, what people do is they don’t fill out the form. They don’t request tickets. You know why? Because they’re perpetually distracted with the thing. Whatever the thing is. Like, it’s the Super Bowl. That’s the thing. A hurricane is about ready to hit my house. People just say, that’s not when they, I should fill out the form while I duck and cover. I’ll duck and cover, then I will fill out the form. It’s not the way people think. So it’s a busy news cycle, number of leads go down. Slow news cycle, leads go up. Are you getting what I’m saying? Yes. It’s kind of interesting. Can we control that? No. We just hold our focus on core tasks until success. A, Devin, so we got H and then A. Avoid urgent and emotional people. Apply energy and emotion only to things you can control. that almost all scams are urgent, almost all scammers are urgent, almost all nefarious new employees are urgent, almost all bogus strife-causing issues are urgent. And emotional. Right. So my default reaction, just so we’re clear, this is a success tip for anybody out there, if something’s really urgent and really emotional, I pretty much just categorically reject the idea. You know, I’m trying to buy a speaker from a sound company, which I am going to be buying some more speakers here soon because if we have the mystery guest that I cannot speak of yet, but if we have the mystery guest that I want to speak of, I got a text today saying that he’s confirmed, so I just got to get the contract and the details. But if I get this mystery guest to come to our business conference and then I get all the details nailed down where you know you cover their travel and all that kind of stuff. If I get that done that’s gonna be a big a big thing. But I want to get the speakers installed I want to because I want to have more speakers more some things to make it work better. If I go to a company to buy speakers and they go oh yeah we’ve got a hot deal if you buy right now you’ll get a discount, but you’ve got to buy in the next five minutes. Why am I not going to buy, James? Because you know they’re trying to just basically sell it right now to you, and it’s more than likely going to be an upcharge rather than a sale. Precious metals. Why don’t I look at the spot price of gold and silver, Devon, and decide to buy more or less based upon what the price is today? Why do I just buy every, you know, I buy gold at consistent intervals. Yeah, because like right now for example, it’s like oh my gosh, the money is going away I gotta buy gold right now. So they spike up the price So if you’re just doing it constant, then you don’t have to worry about it There’s times of the price goes up the price goes down, but I just am very consistent with do it again Don’t these are just I’m telling you folks if you’ll marinate on these ideas, it’ll change your life be Build your success one realistic step at a time. Don’t set stupid goals like I’m gonna run a marathon on Thursday. No you’re not. Why don’t you run to the mailbox and back every day. You know? I’m gonna run to a marathon, I’m gonna do a triathlon. No you’re not. What you’re gonna do, we’re gonna have you run to the mailbox. Are you okay? You gonna make it to the mailbox? All right. You know that’s, I mean, right? Okay. So, you people set goals that are unrealistic. You’ve got to do small goals. And then you build upon that success. The next is, this has been a success habit. I, interrupt the dysfunctional default drift with a daily to-do list and calendar. You’ve got to get up every day and make a list of all the crap you have to get done. So today, I’ve been working on this book. I want to get this book done. I make a list. I want to get the book done. I’ve got to get the book done. I make a list to get the book done. Why do I have to get up every day and make a list of the crap I want to get done today, Devyn? Well, if you didn’t, then you’d drift. You’d be like, what’s next? Devyn, you today went to my house and you and James, you moved my son’s drum set from the pool table billiard room up to the man cave. You moved the table, you organized everything. You and James did that. That was on my list. It was not on my list yesterday. Then my wife told me, hey, I would love it if we could move Aubrey’s drum set up to your man. K. He likes to play up there. He likes the man vibe. Great. Boom. And then I want more room here so that I can do this and that with the billiard room. Great. So I put it on my list. But James, if I didn’t put it on my list, what would happen? It wouldn’t get done. Why? Because it’s not on your to do list. Oh, shakababa! T, team up with an accountability partner, coach, or mentor. Everybody out there, I don’t care who you are, you need a personal trainer, or you need an accountability partner, or somebody to play basketball with, someone to play catch with, somebody to do your accounting with, someone to do bookkeeping with. You’ve got to have some type of accountability partner, unless you’re the most self-disciplined person ever. And if you are, amen to that. And this does not include a lackey. Yeah, you can’t bring Gilligan with you. No, but I mean this though. I have multiple friends of mine who used to play pro sports and they almost always, as soon as they retire, they put on about 30 pounds almost immediately. It’s because they keep eating like an athlete, but they’re not working out anymore. And then they always end up hiring a personal trainer and they get back in great shape. So you gotta have accountability, a partner, a coach. And then S, you gotta substitute all bad habits with new healthy ones. Now I’m going to go into the notable quotable phrase of the book, the phase of the book. The first quote comes to you via Napoleon Hill, the bestselling author, who wrote a book called Think and Grow Rich that I named my son after. Devon, read the first notable quotable from Napoleon Hill. Oh yeah. Remember that your dominating thoughts attract through a definite law of nature. Sorry, I can’t hear you. I was listening. What is he wearing? Is that a sweat man? What happens is people start thinking like this. Let me just give you another example. This is going to blow someone’s mind. So Taylor Swift, we’re told she’s a Christian artist. Do you know about this video? I don’t. Okay, so she recorded the song called Willow, but the music video is a witch theme. Okay, so it’s a witch theme. So just so we’re clear, the video is a theme about witchcraft. I want people to understand this. So it’s not that I’m saying this, but this is like, the actual song, she has, it’s a witch theme to it. So this isn’t like my take, this is her take. It’s the Lonely Witch version. Wow. I’m like the water when you said roll in that night. Rough on the surface but you cut through like a knife. Now, she’s intentionally… And if it was an open shut case, I never would have known from the look on your face. She’s intentionally introducing the world into witchcraft. Like, I’m not the one doing that, she’s doing that. So she’s desensitizing people to the idea of witchcraft. The more that you say the less I believe. But people listen to this. The more you say the farther. And they start singing these lyrics, not actually thinking about what they’re saying. They just start saying it because they like the melody. But they don’t really understand what they’re saying. James you know what I’m saying? I know exactly what you’re saying and this is my first time hearing both of those songs and they’re both sick and degenerate. Now again, have you seen the song, You Need to Calm Down? No. Have you seen this? No. OK, so this song, it was written to mock Christians. That’s why this song was written. So the whole theme of this song is to mock Christians. It’s not my opinion. It’s the lyrics. And the lyrics are, you are somebody that I don’t know. But you’re taking shots at me like it’s Petrom. And I’m just like, damn. Again, this song is designed to mock Christians. So I’m going to skip it so you can see the more obvious and egregious examples. But again, if you’re not intentional about creating success habits, this is what’s going to get into your mind by default. And what’s going to happen is you’re going to start thinking this way and not knowing why. Two dudes just got married. And they’re mocking Christians. Ellen’s in there. And this is what’s being… and they’re just mocking Christians. This is what they’re doing. And it’s not my opinion, it’s a factual thing. That’s what the song is all about. But if you’re not careful to understand that your dominating thoughts ultimately attract because you’re thinking about it all the time. So you ultimately get moved towards it. Read the quote again, but please understand how dangerous it is to listen to Luciferian bad music. Continue. Yes, remember that your dominating thoughts attract. There it is. Through a definite law of nature, by the shortest and most convenient route, their physical counterpart, be careful what your thoughts dwell upon. This is why every time I have a shooter, a mass shooter, they’re like, this just in, he had a notebook filled with hateful things. And he dressed up like Darth Vader. He wore a cape and he wrote on his body, he has a tattoo that says, I will kill everyone. He often told his mom and his sister and his cousin and his neighbor he would kill people. He only exclusively watched horror movies. Shocking. We never saw this coming. Every time. Have you seen this? And people are like, I don’t understand why that would happen. He played exclusively video games. Channel 6 News reporting here, we’re playing exclusively violent video games while talking exclusively about knocking off his closest fans and friends and family. We never saw this coming. More details, he recently attended a Marilyn Manson concert and… I mean, it’s what? Have you seen this, James? Yeah, and if you don’t do the right thing, by default, you’re going to do the wrong thing. Let’s continue to Point Hill quote number two. Go for it, Devyn. Yes, the capacity to, is it surmount? Surmount. Surmount failure without being discouraged is the chief asset. Hi, I’m Ryan Wimpy. And I’m Rachel Wimpy, and the name of our business is Kip Top Training. Our business is a dog training business. We help people with behavioral issues and teach their dog how to listen. When I was learning to become a dog trainer, we didn’t learn anything about Internet marketing or advertising or anything at all. It’s just dog training, and that’s what’s so great about working with Clay and his team because they do it all for us. So that we can focus on our passion and that’s training jobs. Clay and his team here, they’re so enthusiastic, their energy is off the charts. Never a dull moment, spirit drive. We’ve been working with Clay and his team for the last five months, two of which have been our biggest months ever. One, our biggest gross by 35%. Clay’s helped us make anything from brochures to stickers, new business cards, new logos, scripts for phones, scripts for email, scripts for text messages, scripts for everything. How I would describe the weekly meetings with Clay and his team are awesome. They’re so effective. It’s worth every minute. Things get done, we’ll ask for things like different flyers and they’re done before our hour is up. So it’s just awesome, extremely effective. If you don’t use Clay and his team, you’re probably going to be pulling your hair out or you’re going to spend half of your time trying to figure out the online marketing game and producing your own flyers and marketing materials, print materials, all the stuff like that. You’re really losing a lot as far as lost productivity and lost time. Not having a professional do it has a real sense of urgency and actually knows what they’re doing when you already have something that’s your core focus that you already know how to do. You would also be missing out with all the time and financial freedom that you would have working with Clay and his team. We would recommend Clay and his team to other business owners because they need to be working on their business, not just trying to figure out the online game, which is complex and changing daily. So no one has a marketing team, too. Most people don’t. They can’t afford one. And their local web guy or local person that they know probably can’t do everything that a whole team and a whole floor of people can do in hours and not just weeks or months. There’s a definite sense of urgency with Clay and his team. I used to have to ride other web people, I mean really ride them to get stuff done, and stuff is done so fast here and people, there’s a real sense of urgency to get it done. Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I’ve definitely learned a lot about life design and making sure the business serves you. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us in getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place, so having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super. It’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Play is hilarious. I literally laughed so hard that I started having tears yesterday. And we’ve been learning a lot, which, you know, we’ve been sitting here, we’ve been learning a lot, and so the humor definitely helps, it breaks it up. But the content is awesome, off the charts, and it’s very interactive, you can raise your hand, it’s not like you’re just listening to the professor speak, you know. The wizard teaches, but the wizard interacts and he takes questions, so that’s awesome. If you’re not attending the conference, you’re missing about three quarters to half of your life. You’re definitely, it’s probably worth a couple thousand dollars. So you’re missing the thought process of someone that’s already started like nine profitable businesses. So not only is it a lot of good information, but just getting in the thought process of Clay Clark or Dr. Zellner or any of the other coaches, getting in the thought process of how they’re starting all these businesses, to me, just that is priceless. That’s money. Well, we’re definitely not getting upsold here. My wife and I have attended conferences where they upsold, where it was great information and then they upsold us like half the conference. And I don’t want to like bang my head into a wall. And she’s like banging her head into the chair in front of her. Like it’s good information but we’re like oh my gosh I want to strangle you shut up and go with the presentation that we paid for and that’s not here. There’s no upsells or anything so that’s awesome I hate that. It makes me angry so glad that’s not happening. So the cost of this conference is quite a bit cheaper than business college. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school and I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. I would definitely recommend that people would check out the Thrive 15 conference. It’s, the information that you’re gonna get is just very, very beneficial. And the mindset that you’re gonna get, that you’re gonna leave with, is just absolutely worth the price of a little bit of money and a few days worth of your time. The number of new customers that we’ve had is up 411% over last year. We are Jared and Jennifer Johnson. We own Platinum Pest and Lawn and are located in Owasso, Oklahoma. And we have been working with Thrive for business coaching for almost a year now. Yeah, so what we want to do is we want to share some wins with you guys that we’ve had by working with Thrive. First of all, we’re on the top page of Google now, okay. I just want to let you know what type of accomplishment this is. Our competition, Orkin, Terminex, they’re both 1.3 billion dollar companies. They both have two to three thousand pages of content attached to their website. So to basically go from virtually nonexistent on Google to up on the top page is really saying something. But it’s come by being diligent to the systems that Thrive has, by being consistent and diligent on doing podcasts and staying on top of those podcasts to really help with getting up on what they’re listing and ranking there with Google. And also we’ve been trying to get Google reviews, asking our customers for reviews, and now we’re the highest rated and most reviewed Pest and Lawn company in the Tulsa area. And that’s really helped with our conversion rate. And the number of new customers that we’ve had is up 411% over last year. Wait, say that again. How much are we up? 411%. Okay, so 411% we’re up with our new customers. Amazing. Right. So not only do we have more customers calling in, we’re able to close those deals at a much higher rate than we were before. Right now our closing rate is about 85% and that’s largely due to, first of all, our Google reviews that we’ve gotten. People really see that our customers are happy, but also we have a script that we follow. And so when customers call in, they get all the information that they need. That script has been refined time and time again. It wasn’t a one and done deal. It was a system that we followed with Thrive in the refining process. And that has obviously, the 411% shows that that system works. Yeah, so here’s a big one for you. So last week alone, our booking percentage was 91%. We actually booked more deals and more new customers last year than we did the first five months, or I’m sorry, we booked more deals last week than we did the first five months of last year from before we worked with Thrive. So again, we booked more deals last week than the first five months of last year. It’s incredible, but the reason why we have that success is by implementing the systems that Thrive has taught us and helped us out with. Some of those systems that we’ve implemented are group interviews. That way we’ve really been able to come up with a really great team. We’ve created and implemented checklists that when everything gets done and it gets done right, it creates accountability. We’re able to make sure that everything gets done properly, both out in the field and also in our office. And also doing the podcast, like Jared had mentioned, that has really, really contributed to our success. But that, like I said, the diligence and consistency and doing those in that system has really, really been a big blessing in our lives. And also, you know, it’s really shown that we’ve gotten a success from following those systems. So before working with Thrive, we were basically stuck. Really no new growth with our business. And we were in a rut, and we didn’t know. The last three years, our customer base had pretty much stayed the same. We weren’t shrinking, but we weren’t really growing either. Yeah, and so we didn’t really know where to go, what to do, how to get out of this rut that we’re in. But Thrive helped us with that. You know, they implemented those systems, and they taught us those systems. They taught us the knowledge that we needed in order to succeed. Now it’s been a grind, absolutely it’s been a grind this last year, but we’re getting those fruits from that hard work and the diligent effort that we’re able to put into it. So again, we were in a rut, Thrive helped us get out of that rut, and if you’re thinking about working with Thrive, quit thinking about it and just do it. Do the action and you’ll get the results. It will take hard work and discipline, but that’s what it’s going to take in order to really succeed. So we just want to give a big shout out to Thrive, a big thank you out there to Thrive. We wouldn’t be where we’re at now without their help. Hi, I’m Dr. Mark Moore, I’m a pediatric dentist. Through our new digital marketing plan, we have seen a marked increase in the number of new patients that we’re seeing every month, year over year. One month, for example, we went from 110 new patients the previous year to over 180 new patients in the same month. And overall, our average is running about 40 to 42% increase month over month, year over year. The group of people required to implement our new digital marketing plan is immense, starting with a business coach, videographers, photographers, web designers. Back when I graduated dental school in 1985, nobody advertised. The only marketing that was ethically allowed in everybody’s eyes was mouth-to-mouth marketing. By choosing to use the services, you’re choosing to use a proof-and-turn-key marketing and coaching system that will grow your practice and get you the results that you’re looking for. I went to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduated in 1983, and then I did my pediatric dental residency at Baylor College of Dentistry from 1983 to 1985. Hello my name is Charles Colaw with Colaw Fitness. Today I want to tell you a little bit about Clay Clark and how I know Clay Clark. Clay Clark has been my business coach since 2017. He’s helped us grow from two locations to now six locations. We’re planning to do seven locations in seven years and then franchise. And Clay has done a great job of helping us navigate anything that has to do with like running the business, building the systems, the checklists, the workflows, the audits, how to navigate lease agreements, how to buy property, how to work with brokers and builders. This guy is just amazing. This kind of guy has worked in every single industry. He’s written books with like Lee Crockerill, head of Disney with the 40,000 cast members. He’s friends with Mike Lindell. He does Reawaken America tours where he does these tours all across the country where 10,000 or more people show up to some of these tours. On the day-to-day, he does anywhere from about 160 companies. He’s at the top. He has a team of business coaches, videographers, and graphic designers and web developers, and they run 160 companies every single week. So think of this guy with a team of business coaches running 160 companies. So in the weekly he’s running 160 companies every six to eight weeks. He’s doing reawaken America tours every six to eight weeks. He’s also doing business conferences where 200 people show up and he teaches people a 13-step proven system that he’s done and worked with billionaires helping them grow their companies. So I’ve seen guys from startups go from startup to being multi-millionaires, teaching people how to get time freedom and financial freedom through the system. Critical thinking, document creation, organizing everything in their head to building it into a franchisable, scalable business. One of his businesses has like 500 franchises. That’s just one of the companies or brands that he works with. So, amazing guy. Elon Musk, kind of like smart guy. He kind of comes off sometimes as socially awkward but he’s so brilliant and he’s taught me so much. When I say that, Clay is like he doesn’t care what people think when you’re talking to him. He cares about where you’re going in your life and where he can get you to go and that’s what I like him most about. He’s like a good coach. A coach isn’t just making you feel good all the time. A coach is actually helping you get to the best of you. Clay has been an amazing business coach. Through the course of that we became friends. My most impressive thing is when I was shadowing him one time. We went into a business deal and listened to it. I got to shadow and listen to it. When we walked out I knew that he could make millions on the deal and they were super excited about working with him. He told me, he’s like, I’m not going to touch it. I’m going to turn it down because he knew it was going to harm the common good of people in the long run. The guy’s integrity just really wowed me. It brought tears to my eyes to see that this guy, his highest desire was to do what’s right. He’s just an amazing man. He’s impacted me a lot. He’s helped navigate. Anytime I’ve gotten nervous or worried about how to run the company or navigating competition and an economy that’s like, I remember we got closed down for three months. He helped us navigate on how to stay open, how to get back open, how to just survive through all the COVID shutdowns, lockdowns. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys. We appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. Right. This is where we used to live a few years ago. This is our old neighborhood. See. It’s nice. Right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing. And this is our new team. We went from four to fourteen. And I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past, and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman. So we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grams for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you times a thousand. The Thrive Time Show, two-day interactive business workshops are the highest and most reviewed business workshops on the planet. You can learn the proven 13-point business system that Dr. Zellner and I have used over and over to start and grow successful companies. When we get into the specifics, the specific steps on what you need to do to optimize your website, we’re going to teach you how to fix your conversion rate. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get a small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day, 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You work every day in your business, but for two days you can escape and work on your business and build these proven systems so now you can have a successful company that will produce both the time freedom and the financial freedom that you deserve. You’re going to leave energized, motivated, but you’re also going to leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur, I always wish that I had this. And because there wasn’t anything like this, I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars, and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the big chocolate Easter Bunny, but inside of it, it was a hollow nothingness. And I wanted the knowledge, and they’re like, oh, but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. And the great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop, we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get-rich-quick, walk-on hot coals product. It’s literally we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying, and I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert Zellner and Associates. Look them up and say, are they successful because they’re geniuses, or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same systems that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. We’ve built this facility for you and we’re excited to see it. We go back eight years ago. Think about the number of clients you had back then versus the number of clients you have now. As a percentage, what has been the growth over the past eight years, do you think? We’ve got to inspire somebody out there who just doesn’t have the time to listen to their phone. So Clay, it’s like I would go up and down from about $10,000 a month up to about $40,000, but it’s up and down roller coaster. And so now we’ve got it to where we’re in excess of 100 clients. And so I would have anywhere from 5 clients to 20 clients on my own with networking, but I had no control over it. Without the systems, you’re going to be victimized by your own business. For somebody out there who struggles with math, if you would say that your average number of clients was 30 and you go to 100, as a percentage, what is that? I have doubled every year since working with you. So I’ve doubled in clients, I’ve doubled in revenue every year. That’s a hundred percent growth every year I’ve worked with you. Now so I’m looking, we’ve been good friends seven, eight years and I’ve got doubled five times. Which is just incredible. I mean the first time you do it that’s one thing but when you do it repeatedly, I mean, that’s unbelievable. We’re working our bless assurance off this year to double. We’re planning on doubling again. We’re incorporating some new things in there to really help us do it, but we are going to double again this year. I started coaching, but it would go up and down, Clay. That’s when I came to you, as I was going up and down, and I wanted to go up and up instead of up and down. And so that’s when it needed a system. So creating a system is you have nailed down specific steps that you’re going to take no matter how you feel, no matter the results, you lean into them and you do them regardless of what’s happening. You lean into them and it will give you X number of leads. You follow up with those leads, it turns into sales. Well, I tell you, if you don’t have a script and you don’t have a system, then every day is a whole new creation. You’re creating a lot of energy just to figure out what are you going to do. And the best executives, Peter Drucker is a father of modern management, and he said the most effective executives make one decision a year. What you do is you make a decision, what is your system, and then you work like the Dickens to make sure you follow that system. That’s really what it’s all about. With a script here, we have a brand new gal that just came in working for us. She nailed down the script, and she’s been nailing down appointments. Usually we try to get one appointment for every hundred calls. We make two to three hundred calls a day per rep. Right. And she’s been nailing down five and eight appointments a day. Somebody out there’s having a hard time. On that script! So she’s making how many calls a day? She’s making between two and three hundred calls a day. And our relationship is weird in that we do… If someone were to buy an Apple computer today, or let’s say you bought a personal computer, a PC, the computer is made by, let’s say, Dell. But then the software in the computer would be Microsoft, let’s say, or Adobe or whatever that is. So I basically make the systems, and you’re like the computer and I’m like the software. It’s kind of how I would describe our relationship. Tim, I want to ask you this. I think it was in the year 2000 and, what was it, maybe 2010? Is that right? 2011 maybe? Or maybe further down the road. Maybe 2013? 2012. Okay, so 2012. And at that time I was five years removed from the DJ business. And you were how many years removed from tax and accounting software? It was about 10, 11 years. We met, how did we meet? What was the first interaction? There was some interaction where you and I first connected. I just remember that somehow you and I went to Hideaway Pizza. But do you remember when we first reconnected? Yeah, well we had that speaking thing. Oh, there it was! So it was Victory Christian Center. I was speaking there. My name is Robert Redman. I actually first met Clay almost three years ago to the day. I don’t know if he remembers it or not, but I wasn’t working with him at the time. I asked to see him and just ask him some questions to help, you know, direct my life to get some mentorship, but I’ve been working with Clay for now just over a year. The role I play here is a business coach, business consultant. I work with different businesses implementing best practice processes and systems that I have learned here by working with Clay. The experience working here has, to put it real plainly, has been just life-changing. I have not only learned new things and have gained new knowledge, but I have gained a whole new mindset that I believe, wherever I end up, will serve me well throughout the rest of my life. Since working with Clay, I have learned so much. I mean, I would like to say it was everything about business in terms of the different categories. I don’t learn it all, but I’ve learned all about marketing. I’ve learned about advertising. I’ve learned about branding. I’ve learned how to create a sales process for organizations in any industry. I’ve learned how to sell. I’ve learned how to create repeatable systems and processes and hold people accountable. You know, how to hire people. It’s almost like every aspect of a business you can learn. I have learned a lot in those different categories. And then, again, the mindset that I’ve gained here has been huge. You know, working here, you can’t be a mediocre person. You are a call to a higher standard of excellence and then as your call to that standard here you begin to see those outcomes in every area of your life. That standard of excellence that that you want to implement no matter what you’re involved in. I would like to describe the other people that that work with Clay are people that are going somewhere with their life. Marshall, in the group interview, talks about how the best fits for this organization are the people that are goal-oriented. So they’re on their own trajectory, and we’re on our own trajectory. And the best fits are those people where there can be a mutually beneficial relationship that as we pursue our goals and we help the business pursue those goals, the business helps us pursue our goals as well. And so I’d say people that are driven, people that want to make something of their lives, people that are goal-oriented, they’re focused, and they’re committed to overcoming any adversity that may come their way. Clay’s passion for helping business owners grow their businesses is, it’s unique in that I don’t know if there’s anyone else’s that can be as passionate. You know, whenever a business starts working with Clay, it’s almost as like Clay is running that business in the sense that he has something at stake. You know, he’s just serving them. They’re one of his clients, but it’s as if he is actively involved in the business. Whenever they have a win, he’s posting it all over his social media. He’s shouting it across the room here at Thrive. You know, he’s sending people encouraging messages. He can kind of be that life coach and business coach in terms of being that motivator and that champion for people’s businesses. It’s again unique because there’s no one else I’ve seen get so excited about and passionate about other people’s businesses. The kind of people that wouldn’t like working with Clay are people that are satisfied with mediocrity, people that want to get through life by just doing enough, by just getting by, people who are not looking to develop themselves, people who are not coachable, people who think that they know it all and they’re unwilling to change. I would say those are the type of people, and in short, anyone that’s content with mediocrity would not like working with Clay. So if you’re meeting Clay for the first time, the advice I’d give you is definitely come ready to take tons of notes. Every time Clay speaks, he gives you a wealth of knowledge that you don’t want to miss. I remember the first time that I met Clay, I literally carried a notebook with me all around. I was looking at this notebook the other day, actually. I carried a notebook with me all around, and I just took tons of notes. I filled the entire notebook in about about three or four months just from being around Clay, following him and learning from him. And then I would say come coachable. Be open to learning something new. Be And then I would say come coachable. Be open to learning something new. Be open to challenging yourself. Be open to learning and adjusting parts about you that need to be adjusted.
