The past couple of weeks have been absolutely nuts. With everything going on in the world mixed with the nonstop spread of scare tactic articles, negative social media posts, and word of mouth rumors, it is extremely important that there be a positive light in all of the darkness. For the past few weeks straight, the amazing people on the Thrive business coach team and I have been focusing our time spreading nothing but good news and facts in order to help ease the minds and educate the good people of the world. On my quest to save America, I did learn one disturbing fact however… unfortunately there is a growing part of the US population that believes America as we know it is dead. They’ve given up on the old fashioned American Dream. They’ve lost their patriotism and their hope for their home. Naturally, the further I went down the #ripamerica rabbit holes on social media, the angrier I got. “How in the world can Americans truly believe their country is dead?”, I asked myself again and again. What would it take to regain the American faith. Now, you can take what comes next with a grain of salt, or completely rebuke it. You do you, boo boo. But through all of my business coach research I came to one conclusion, America didn’t die, people just forgot how to fight for it. People forgot that freedom isn’t in fact free of charge. 

What Freedom Really Represents (To Me, At Least) 

One of the most common ideologies I’ve noticed as a business coach in #ripamerica argument is that most people nowadays feel like their freedoms have been taken away. Given the current state of affairs I can see why some would feel that way, but what’s important to remember is that people can only take your freedoms if you allow them to. It’s in our freaking declaration of independence for Pete’s sake, “When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”. This country was founded to spite the rule of those who would deny this very idea. This country was founded with YOUR future freedoms in mind. So at the end of that day you are responsible for your freedoms. Freedom is given, it has to be fought for. It has to be protected. Those who are currently claiming that this isn’t their version of America need to wake up to the fact that it never will be until they decide to take action. All of the freedoms and rights in the world mean F*#% all if you lack the action required to achieve and protect them. 

America didn’t die, people just forgot how to fight for it.

This #ripamerica trend is not a thing. I urge you to look at the good people fighting for your freedoms and think of ways that you can take action and help. Attaining freedom is hard, but hard work is meant to be just that, HARD. But do you know what else it is? It’s rewarding as hell.
