Stop Getting Stuck

Dragon Energy – It is a mindset that you have to have as an entrepreneur. A mindset of “I will not stop, I will not move on, I will not sleep until I get this action item done.”

 

Getting stuck is one of the most common things I see as a business coach happens with business owners and in fact, most of humanity struggles with this. It is what happens when you come into contact with a force. You can choose to get stuck by that force or you can choose to become the stronger force in the situation. There will always be a winner when you are confronted by the opposition and it is up to you each and every time to choose who will win. If you let anything get in the way of your path and derail you, you will soon be on a new path of failure. You have to keep going, plow through the adversity, get the action item done, and keep going.

Clay calls this energy or force Dragon Energy. It is a mindset that you have to have as an entrepreneur. A mindset of “I will not stop, I will not move on, I will not sleep until I get this action item done.” If you have what Clay Clark, Kanye West, and President Donald Trump call Dragon Energy, you will keep moving forward on your path. If you do not possess it, you will fail because there are countless things that will try to stop you on your path upwards on Mount Success. 

Most places people get stuck is acquiring information, making branding decisions, and implementation. If you need to gather information from an attorney, the government, a client, or an employee but keep putting it off because it is either too inconvenient or a hard conversation to have then you will get stuck forever. If you are afraid of being “too pushy” because you have already called once today then you will be stuck forever. You have to drink some dragon energy (A Clay Clark and Jonathan Kelly Pre-Workout Creation) and get that information. When you are making branding decisions, whether it be for your logo, colors, or font, you must take action on one of the options, measure the results, and refine it. If you get stuck here and never take action, you will never sell anything. 

The easiest way to get unstuck is to follow up.

Follow up with your employees, your attorney, your business coach clients, and even yourself. You need to ask yourself at the end of every day, “Did I get everything done?” and look at your to-do list to ensure that you have. Your success is in far more danger if you let things drift than if you constantly follow up. Yes, you will piss off one or two people in the process but you will find that it is easier for them to just complete the action item than it is for them to give you another excuse as to why it is not completed yet. Followup is your friend and without it, nothing will ever get done. 

When you focus on not getting stuck by following up with people, they won’t always be happy with you. This is because they are not used to being on time and extraordinary. It is like trying to push two positive magnets together. They cannot tough without some force. Business coach Dr. Zoellner says, “People change seldom” and that means that you have to either apply pressure or remove them completely. Michael Levine, the Public Relations consultant for Michael Jackson and Prince says, “Fire your flakey friends.” You should fire the flakey people from your life because if you keep spending time with them, you will eventually become them. You have to have the dragon energy and understand that ordinary and extraordinary can not live together. You have to choose one. Stop getting stuck and do not stop following up until it’s done.
